2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LCC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2015 Discovery Sport manufactured September 17, 2014 through November 3, 2014 and 2014-2015 Range Rover Evoque vehicles manufactured July 15, 2013 through July 1, 2015. In the affected vehicles the transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral.

Risk. If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the automatic transmission serial number and if required, will update the transmission software to prevent the transmission from shifting into neutral due to a faulty crimp, free of charge. The recall is expected to began October 14, 2016. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P091.

The vehicle was later towed to the residence. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not yet contacted about the failure. The vehicle unexpectedly shifts into neutral. I purchased the vehicle in 2023 at a used car dealership. I mentioned that this was happening to the salesmen roughly 1-2 months after I purchased the vehicle when it first happened I asked him if there were any recalls or any repairs done that I should know about. I was told there were no recalls and no repairs done on the truck. I was told to take it to a dealer to have it check. I called the dealer and mentioned that I saw a recall for this same issue from 2016. I was told there wasn’t a recall on the vin #. The truck is not safe to drive. I’m afraid I will cause a serious accident with the truck unexpectedly shifting into neutral.

My window is constantly leaking water. I am not the original owner. I went to get the window repaired and the shops say it’s a recall. I never knew it was one. I now have a problem with wiring and I believe that the leaks have lead to this!

I am reporting a critical and systemic defect affecting Land Rover vehicles equipped with the 2.0L GTDi turbo petrol engine (240 hp), including my 2015 Evoque, My engine suffered catastrophic failure at ~118,000 miles while driving caused by a premature timing chain or tensioner failure. Pistons & valves collides, cams clashed and wouldn't rotate, loss of compression and dangerously instantaneous loss of power/speed/control without warning. The damage required full engine replacement. This significantly increases the risk of crashes & deaths especially at high speeds, traffic congestion, windy roads or hills, night time driving, poor weather conditions. Without warning the driver is helpless without power or ability to move to safety and rear end collision or loss of control is highly likely. Land Rover’s Passport to Service for the 2015 model year does not include timing chain inspection or replacement at any interval—not at 60k, 90k, or even 120k miles. The chain is treated as a “lifetime” component, giving drivers no opportunity to prevent failure. Vehicle had all proper maintenance, recent oil changes at low intervals, and official Land Rover dealership underwent full diagnostics and testing with the conclusion this fault was not user/driver related or to any part myself. Online forums, technician reports, and owner cases show this issue is widespread and recurring across many model years and builds using this engine. The repair is anywhere from 15-20k USD for the evoque

At low speed, pulled out of parking spot into [XXX] and the steering completely failed. Could not move the steering wheel at all. My service person is replacing the complete steering rack ($6500). There are many reports of this on a UK site and report that Land Rover has been paying for the repair. Definitely a safety issue. Coolant hose leaking badly had to replace the entire system

Gear shift stuck in park or will get stuck in reverse after turning car on. Have to turn on and off multiple times before gear shift starts working again

The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the transmission inadvertently shifted from the drive(D) to neutral(N) and the vehicle lost motive power. A bystander helped shift the transmission into park(P) and then into drive(D). The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle failed to restart while at the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was determined that the variable valve timing (VVT) solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 155,000.

1. The EPAS system detached from the steering rack (caused by the three bolts that attach the EPAS to the steering rack being fractured and corroded due to saltwater ingress (inter crystalline corrosion) causing a loss of steering control. 2. This caused loss of steering control and presented a potentially catastrophic driving condition. 3. The problem has been confirmed by a JLR dealer. 4. This problem has been recognized by Canadian authorities who issued a recall (Transport Canada Recall #2018-180). Further, in the UK, the UK Government DVSA secured and agreement from JLR tp "fix upon failure" which may have been changed to a general recall. Lastly, BMW of North America issued a letter in September, 2018 proactively recalling all cars possibly affected by this issue to be inspected by their service departments and corrective action taken free of charge. 5. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to failure.

While driving on the highway, I heard a loud pop and then my car lost acceleration. When I tried to press on gas, it made a loud whining noise and struggled to get above 40-50 MPH. I took it to mechanic and they said that the turbo had a defect and wasn’t working properly. Had to replace entire turbo

My trunk door will open up on its own. I will come outside in the morning and my trunk will be open,or as we are getting in our getting out of the vehicle the trunk door will come up all by itself. I have a toddler so this posses a serious safty concern. In addition, my power train just stops on its own where the vehicle wont accelerate as it should. i have kept up with all of the service request and needed repairs on the vehicle.

During routine maintenance (motor oil change), I discovered the transfer case leaking oil from a sealing cap. Upon further investigation, I discovered Land Rover is aware of the issue and they have a Technical Bulletin (LTB00834NAS1) for the repair. I contacted Land Rover Corporate and the local dealer, they both refused to repair it free of charge since the vehicle is out of warranty. This is a safety issue and Land Rover should repair it with a recall. If all the oil leaks out (transfer case only holds approx 1 pint), the transfer case would seize and potentially cause a crash.

I was driving on the highway and my turbo went out. My car has not been the same since. I’ve taken it to the deal many times but the engine is not the same and the car shakes when idol and does not properly accelerate

When the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle failed to shift into drive and instead remained in neutral. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the secondary battery needed to be replaced. The battery was replaced but the vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V614000 (Power Train). The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. The contact has stated that the vehicle is no longer in their possession.

Steering completely went on my car. Thankfully I was just backing out of the driveway. I had to have the car towed to the dealership b/c it was completely undrivabe. If I had been driving on the highway, I don't know what would have happened. Absolutely no warning lights came on. The issue is a bolt snapped due to corrosion. The Land Rover dealership told me they need to replace the steering gearbox. I have done some research and have found this issue has been recalled in the UK and Canada but not in the US. The dealer acknowledged this is a known issue but that it has not been recalled in US yet.

I took vehicle to a land rover dealership , they confirmed the leaking issue from fuel sending unit (FLANGE) they found the unit cracked .I did contact Land rover customer relationship ,they confirmed with dealership service adviser that this part is defective ! They refused to take responsibly This issue am having is the exact same issue that was acknowledged by landcover on a different model. I wonder how many other landcover like mine is on the road now, with leaking fuel from the gas tank .Very ha

Vehicle has stress cracking bilaterally on front bumper where it meets the fender , looks like it is due to heat or excess tension from headlight. Cracks are split down the sides symmetrically and end result is requiring a brand new bumper at thousands of dollars. LTB00738NAS2 Is a technical bulletin describing exact issue but land rover states this bulletin doesn’t matter to me as I am out of factory warranty and there is no recall. The bumper being adrift reduces safety of the vehicle and interferes with alignments of sensors used for parking, collision avoidance, and other ADAS systems.

2015 Evoque cam failed and ruined the engine at 68k miles. The cost of the repair exceeds the value of the car (about $17k). No one will fix it for this reason. It shifted into neutral unexpectedly causing a potential traffic hazard. It was impossible to move it out of the roadway without the assistance of a tow truck (parking brakes lock, and gear selector becomes useless.) After some research this seems to be a fairly common known issue. This is very unsafe, and financially devasting on a financed car. There were no warnings and no prior issues up to the time of incident.

After driving the vehicle for 30 miles or more and parking in the garage, a very strong gas odor fills the garage; the vehicle has to be parked outside in the driveway.

MY CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO A DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES REGARDING WHAT I BELIEVED WERE SEIZED AND LEAKING MAGNERIDE SHOCKS. WHEN ON FREEWAY AND CAR HIT A BUMP THE WHOLE CAR WOULD GIVE A LOUD THUMP AND STABILITY WAS SERIOUSLY COMPROMISED TO THE POINT TURNS DID NOT FEEL SAFE IF THERE WAS A 'ROUGH' ROAD. DEALER FAILED TO RECOGNIZE IT EVEN AFTER ME BRINGING IT IN AND STATING THE PROBLEM AS THEY SAID THAT ISSUE WOULD BE MORE RARE. HAD A THIRD PARTY INSTALL NEW MAGNERIDE SHOCKS... 2 WERE COMPLETELY SEIZED UP IN EXTENDED POSITION ALMOST TO THE POINT THEY COULDN'T BE REMOVED AND A THIRD WAS LEAKING. THERE IS NO MENTION OF ANY SERVICE, LIFESPAN, OR MAINTENANCE ON THE MAGNERIDE SHOCKS. WHILE IN THE PROCESS OF SUSPENSION REMOVAL, BOTH FRONT AXLES WERE BROKEN AS THE INSTALLER NOTICED THE FRONT AXLE THREADS WERE STRIPPED AT THE HUB AND ONE NUT SIEZED AND ANOTHER WAS DANGEROUSLY LOOSE... ENDED UP NEEDING TWO NEW FRONT AXLES AND WHEEL BEARING. THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE REACTION BETWEEN THE METALS, THE HUBS ARE ALUMINIUM AND THE BOLTS ARE STEEL AND THAT CAUSES GALVANIC CORROSION AND CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. SHOULD THERE BE SHEARING OR BREAKAGE WHILE DRIVING IT COULD BE LETHAL AND IT'S A SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW.

2015 EVOQUE, 50K MILES ONLY. ON FEB 26TH 2020, I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE AND NOTICED A HUMMING SOUND FROM ENGINE SIDE. GRADUALLY IT BECAUSE SO LOUD AND NON IGNORABLE. THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND SLOWED DOWN ON THE INTERSTATE. MY WHOLE FAMILY SURVIVED A CLUSTER CRASH BY MERE LUCK. DEALERSHIP SAYS TURBO IS BLOWN AND THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM. BILLS $4500 AND AM OUT OF WARRANTY SINCE NOV 2020. COMMON PROBLEM ??? HOW CAN A 5 YR OLD 50K VEHICLE HAVE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT COSTS $4500 TO FIX ? MY RESEARCH SHOW LAND ROVER WAS ALWAYS AWARE OF THIS TURBO FAILURE ISSUES AND NEVER ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. THIS IS A DESIGN ISSUE HIDDEN FROM CUSTOMERS AND WE ARE MADE TO PAY FOR THE DEFECT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS WITH LR AND I REQUEST A RECALL OF TURBOS ON ALL DEFECTIVE LR VEHICLES ASAP.

WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR WILL UNEXPECTEDLY SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. EACH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON DECELERATION AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY A "RESELECT GEAR" ALERT ON THE DASH AND AN ALARM (DINGING) NOISE. THIS HAS HAPPED 5-6 TIMES IN 3 MONTHS. I HAVE TO FORCE THE SHIFTER OUT OF D AND INTO N THEN BACK TO D AND IT WILL CONTINUE DRIVING. I HAVE TAKEN IN INTO THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF ALMOST 6 WEEKS COMBINED, AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE OR GET THE FAULT TO REPLICATE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY SAME MAKE AND MODEL, JUST NOT MY VIN, THAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHAT MY CAR IS DOING.

MY 2015 RANGE ROVER EVOQUE WITH 52,000 MILES ON IT, LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND KEEP UP WITH TRAFFIC EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL COMPLETE TO THE FLOOR. ON ROADWAYS THAT HAD HILLS, I WOULD LOSE SPEED CAUSING TRAFFIC TO BACK UP BEHIND ME. THE CHECK ENGINE ALSO CAME ON. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP I WAS TOLD THAT THE TURBO CHARGER HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE ESTIMATE WAS $6275.

THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR IS NOT LOCKING, WHEN I LOCK THE CAR. EVERY DOOR ACCEPT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I HAVE TO MANUALLY LOCK IT WHEN I DRIVE.

IN NOVEMBER OF 2017 I WAS T-BONED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYED AND SAVED MY HEAD, HOWEVER, THE SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MY SPLEEN WAS SEVERED AND I SPENT 3 WEEKS IN ICU. NOW, 2 1/2 YEARS ON, I STILL HAVE HEALTH ISSUES. *TR

THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE SLOWLY AND DRIVE ROUGH WHEN GEARS ARE CHANGING. THE CODES WE GET ARE FOR THE TURBO CHARGER. *TR

FOR THE 5TH TIME NOW, WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY ON CITY STREETS (AND ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY), THE CAR STARTS GIVING MULTIPLE FAULT MESSAGES REGARDING SYSTEM FAILURES AND THEN IT GOES INTO LIMP HOME MODE. ONCE, I TURNED IT OFF ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET AND IT LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT COME BACK ON - IT HAD TO BE TOWED. THE FAULT MESSAGES INCLUDE "GEAR BOX FAILURE" AND "STABILITY CONTROL FAILURE", ABS FAILURE, POWER STEERING FAILURE, AND MORE. ALL FIVE TIMES, THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE SHOP AGAIN (IT WAS JUST THERE TWO WEEKS AGO FOR THE SAME ISSUE). I WILL NEVER FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT AGAIN KNOWING THAT IT CAN SUDDENLY HAVE PROBLEMS AT ANY TIME. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY THE SPEED LIMIT OF 75 MPH WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN THE CAR BEGAN MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE & STARTED LOSING POWER AND RAPIDLY DECELERATING OUT OF MY CONTROL. MY RPMS BEGAN RUNNING 7K+ AND I NEEDED TO JAM DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL IN ORDER TO TRY AND MAINTAIN SPEED AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT, WHICH WORKED FOR A SECOND AND ACTUALLY ALLOWED ME TO GAIN BACK SPEED. HOWEVER, WITH THE GAS ALL THE WAY DOWN IT ONLY KEPT SPEED FOR A SHORT PERIOD UNTIL THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON AND I BEGAN DROPPING DOWN SPEED AGAIN. I COULD NOT MAINTAIN SPEED. I IMMEDIATELY CHANGED TO THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AT A REST STOP. I READ THE MANUAL, AND ACCORDING TO THE WARNING TRANSMISSION SIGNAL WHICH DISPLAYED, MY CAR MAY BE DRIVEN BUT PERFORMANCE MAY BE REDUCED AND I SHOULD IMMEDIATELY TAKE IT INTO A DEALER, WHICH I DID. I WAS LATER TOLD BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THAT 'MY TURBO HAD BLOWN' WITH CRACKS ALONG WITH A DESTROYED SOLENOID AND OTHER PARTS RELATING TO THE SPEED OF MY CAR. IT CURRENTLY HAS UNDER 80K MILES AND IS IN THE REPAIR SHOP AS WE SPEAK. IT HAS HAD ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND JUST UNDERWENT SERVICE CARE (REPLACED OIL/ OIL FILTER, TRANSMISSION FLUID , ETC) LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO. THE TOTAL ESTIMATED REPAIR COST RELATING TO THIS SAFETY CONCERN IS ROUGHLY $5,200 USD FROM AN AUTHORIZED DEALER (A NEW TURBO, SOLENOID, LABOR, ETC).

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED GEARS TO NEUTRAL INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS TO PARK AND RESTART THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. UPON INVESTIGATION THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V614000 (POWER TRAIN). LAND ROVER OF TACOMA LOCATED AT 1601 40TH AVE CT E, FIFE, WA 98424, WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE 8 TIMES IN TOTAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,000.

I WAS DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH, WHEN BOTH HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I HAD A MECHANIC EVALUATE IT. HE FOUND 4 ENGINE CODES & 3 OTHER CODES (1 A LOW BEAM HEADLAMP CODE) & ADVISED THERE WAS A PROBLEM LAND ROVER HAD TO EVALUATE. I CALLED CAPE FEAR LAND ROVER IN WILMINGTON, NC AS THE EXTENDED WARRANTY STILL APPLIED, EXPLAINED THE ISSUE. THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THE BULBS HAD BLOWN WAS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. I ASKED HOW BOTH WENT OUT SIMULTANEOUSLY, & IF ALL CODES WERE REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD "BOTH BULBS BLOW SIMULTANEOUSLY ALL THE TIME" I AGAIN ASKED IF ALL CODES HAD BEEN REPAIRED, I WAS TOLD "THERE AREN'T ANY OTHER CODES." I ADVISED I HAD A PICTURE OF THE CODES ON MY PHONE. I WAS THEN TOLD "OH, I'LL CALL YOU BACK." I HEARD NOTHING UNTIL I CALLED THE NEXT DAY TO CHECK ON MY CAR. AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD OF A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A FAULTY WIRING HARNESS CAUSING BOTH LIGHTS TO BLOW, BUT THE REPAIR PART WAS NO LONGER MADE, & MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO REPLACE THE BULBS EACH TIME THEY BLOW. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF ME & MY FAMILY. I WAS TOLD "I'LL CHECK ON IT & CALL YOU BACK." THE NEXT DAY AFTER HEARING NOTHING, I AGAIN CALLED. I WAS TOLD THE WIRING HARNESS WAS NO LONGER MADE & THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED BUT WOULD BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. TODAY THE DEALER IS SAYING THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER "ILLUMINATION" & I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $1100 TO FIX THE ISSUE. THE WARRANTY COMPANY SAYS THEY DON'T COVER HEADLIGHTS OR BULBS, BUT THE DEALER NEEDS TO RESUBMI

LOSS OF POWER. HIGH RPM, ECO MODE NOT WORKING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WITH CODE FOR TURBO LOSS OF POWER. ONLY 47K MILES. WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. MAJOR POWER LOSS

TURBO BLOWS UP/GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING. MAKING INCLINED SPEEDS HARD TO REACH TO MOVE OUT OF WAY OF VEHICLES. HAS NO PEP BEHIND IT.

ECO START/STOP IS NOT WORKING. THE REAR SEATS SINCE DAY 1 BEEN RATTLING. THE DEALER WRAPPED THE HOOK WITH SOMETHING TO MAKE IT TIGHT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE. SOON AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ECO BUTTON WOULD NOT FUNCTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO LAND ROVER SAN ANTONIO (13660 I-10, SAN ANTONIO, TX 78249, 210-561-4900) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN A QUOTE OF $1,000 FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,000.

CAR SWITCHING INTO NEUTRAL RANDOMLY AND BRAKES DO NOT ENGAGE IMMEDIATELY/LAG IN RESPONSE AFTER ENGAGING BRAKE PEDAL.

THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND I EXITED THE VEHICLE. I WENT INSIDE AN ADJACENT BUILDING FOR APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE. I RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE AND OPENED THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. I PICKED UP MY KEY FOB AND PRESSED THE IGNITION BUTTON TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY AND STRUCK A PARKED CAR AND PINNED ME BETWEEN THE VEHICLE AND THE OPENED PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. MY HAND WAS PRESSED BETWEEN THE CAR DOOR AND A LIGHT POLE IN THE PARKING LOT. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER SAT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT AND PRESSED THE ENGINE BUTTON AND THE GEAR SHIFTER EMERGED AND WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER THEN SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE PARKING BRAKE CONTINUED TO ENGAGE AND THE TIRES WOULD NOT ROLL FREELY.

I PARKED MY CAR AT THE DOG PARK AND WAS THERE FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. WHEN I CAME OUT MY CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. TOTAL LOSS BY THE TIME THE FIREFIGHTERS WERE DONE FIGHTING THE BLAZE. .

JUST PURCHASED MY CAR IN JULY 2018. WAS A PREVIOUS LEASED CAR WITH REGUIAR MAINTENANCE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS NO PICKUP IN THE CAR. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL TO SIDE OF THE ROAD TO PREVENT AN ACCIDENT AND TURN CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO AN AUTHORIZED LAND ROVER DEALER TO WHICH THEY STATE TURBOCHARGER HAS AN INTERNAL DEFECT AND A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY MAKE AND MODEL CAR.

THE TURBO FAILED AT 42000 MILES, WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY BY RANGE ROVER OF PORTLAND. THE TURBO HAS FAILED AGAIN AT 84000 MILES. BOTH FAILURES OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. I HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY AN AUTHORIZED RANGE ROVER REPAIRMAN. MESSER AUTOWERKS OF KENNEWICK, WA. THAT THE TURBOS FOR THE EVOQUE AND LR2 HAVE A DESIGN FLAW, THERE IS AN INTERNAL COMPONENT THAT BREAKS OFF AND CAUSES THE TURBO TO FAIL. I RESEARCHED WITH YOUR WEBSITE AND RANGE ROVER THERE IS NO RECALL IN PLACE FOR MY MODEL AN YEAR
