Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2021, 2023 Acura TLX, 2019-2024 RDX, 2017-2020, 2022-2026 MDX, 2017-2021, 2023, 2025 Honda Ridgeline, 2017-2022 Pilot, 2019-2021 Passport, 2018-2026 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Insight, 2019-2021 HR-V, 2018-2020 Fit, 2020-2022 CR-V Hybrid, 2017-2022 CR-V, 2017-2018, 2021 Civic Type R, 2017-2021 Civic hatchback, 2016-2020 Civic coupe, 2016-2022 Civic, 2017-2022 Accord Hybrid, and 2016-2022 Accord vehicles. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Risk. Air bags that deploy unintentionally during a crash increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017, 2020, and 2022 CR-V vehicles. The certification label on the driver's side door states incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR), Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR), and tire size information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Risk. An incorrectly sized tire may cause premature tread wear, or a tire blow out, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will install a new corrected label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 18, 2023. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is CF7.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2020 CR-V, 2018-2019 Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2018-2020 Odyssey, 2019 Insight, and 2019-2020 Acura RDX vehicles. A manufacturing issue with the front seat belts may cause the seat belt buckle channel to interfere with the release button, preventing the seat belt buckle from latching.

Risk. An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat belt buckle release buttons or the buckle assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Honda Civic and CR-V vehicles. The magnet that controls the torque sensor output signal for the electronic power steering system may not be properly secured, allowing the magnet to become dislodged. During a full lock turn, the dislodged magnet may cause steering assist to be applied in the opposite direction.

Risk. The unintended steering input reduces vehicle maneuverability and increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steering gearbox assembly, free of charge. The recall began November 9, 2018. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are C2N, P2O.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 Honda CR-V 2WD and AWD vehicles. The affected vehicles have a fuel supply pipe that may have been improperly manufactured, possibly resulting in the pipe disconnecting and leaking while driving.

Risk. If the pipe disconnects, the engine will stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the disconnected pipe may leak fuel, which, in the presence of an ignition source, can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel supply pipe, free of charge. The recall began August 31, 2017. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is KH1.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017 CR-V and Acura RDX vehicles. The Certification Labels on the affected vehicles were printed with ink that may be inadvertently wiped away with an alcohol solvent. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."

Risk. If the label information can be wiped away, the operator may not be able to refer to the information, possibly resulting in the vehicle being overloaded, which can increase the risk of a crash.

While driving my 2017 Honda CR-V EX in Aug 2026, The dashboard illuminated with multiple critical warning indicators, and diagnostic scanning pulled code P0304 (Cylinder 4 Misfire). This created an immediate safety hazard on the road. A certified technician confirmed a premature failure of the gasoline direct fuel injectors. This component failure matches widespread defects documented in Honda TSB 21-010. The sudden failure of these factory injectors poses an unreasonable risk of engine stalling and traffic collisions.

SUMMARY- After the new Honda Sensing software update on 10/13/26 by the Dealer, my 2017 Honda CR-V experienced a serious intermittent failure while driving a couple days later. The entire instrument cluster went blank, the engine bucked as if it were about to stall, and then the dashboard and vehicle systems came back on. An Auto High-Beam malfunction warning appeared afterward. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE UPDATE- The car was driven ~5 miles home without issue and wasn't used again until 10/15/26. Approximately two hours, while driving, the incident occurred. An appointment was made with the Dealer who checked for codes, no related codes for this malfunction, battery tested good and the incident couldn't be duplicated with a test drive at that time.

Electronic power steering defect; magnet or torque sensor can give false signals, causing the steering wheel to violently jerk out of the driver's hands, especially at highway speeds. Potential to cause accident. Same issue already recalled for select 2017-2018 Honda Civics and CRVs, as well as 2022-2025 models. However, not all 2017-2021 models have been recalled despite suffering the same part failure issues.

Breaks deploy while driving 3am with no other vehicles around. There were no obstructions, debris or vehicles in sight for miles & my auto-braking system engaged causing my car to go from 45 down to a severe lower rate with lights flashing "auto brakes" & my head/neck to whip forward towards windshield. While driving, my vehicle suddenly displayed multiple warnings and repeated beeping, including Hill Start Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation System problems. The vehicle appeared to slow down and the brakes seemed to grab or engage unexpectedly, creating a risk of losing control or causing a collision with surrounding traffic. Startup stuttering has also occurred. The failed component is UNKNOWN. Possible causes include a malfunction in the ABS/VSA brake-control system, electronic parking brake, sensors, wiring, or electrical controls. A fuel-delivery or engine issue may explain the startup stuttering. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The problem has not been confirmed or reproduced by a dealer or repair facility to my knowledge. An auto-parts store tested the battery, starter, and alternator, which reportedly passed. Honda advised that my VIN is not covered by a fuel-pump recall. A manufacturer inspection specifically addressing the braking issue is UNKNOWN. The car continuously has issues with all alerts appearing on the dashboard. This deactivates safety features like lane departure assist, front collision mitigation, and cruise control. This is a known problem with this generation of CRV and the problem has become worse since Honda starting sending letters to customers about resetting their radar sensor.

On Aug 10, 2026 every dashboard warning light came on and stayed on Took to the shop and they did some repair work. Then on August 18 while driving, I have been getting stuttering and jerking motion like pauses. Then, a whirling noise would start and every single dashboard warning light would come on. I’ve had my turbocharger assembly replaced twice. This is an ongoing problem I see with this specific SUV and needs to be recalled. As a woman driving this is a horrible feeling. My car is now back in the shop again for the 4th time. My car is very well maintained since I have it and I love it.

Multiple false reports to include but not limited to safety airbags not working, collision, brakes and other safety concerns are indicated in dashboard warnings.

While sitting with engine running all warning messages start to scroll through including warning dash lights. This occurs periodically may stop randomly a day or two later. No codes display when checked. Noticed multiple incidents of this have been reported with no specific solution. Individuals seem to have spent thousands trying to fix without a specific solution. Less than 95k miles always serviced at dealers. Extremely frustrating concerned that at some point this could result in a failure posing a personal/physical safety issue.

While driving my 2017 Honda CR-V in stop-and-go highway traffic during wet conditions at 7:40 am on 9/24/26, suddenly multiple warning lights appeared with audible chimes and I suddenly was unable to depress the brake pedal normally. When I attempted to apply the brake, it felt like it was solid and had no effect on the speed of the vehicle. I immediately activated my hazard lights, crossed 3 lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder, shifted into neutral and had to coast to a stop on the shoulder. Steering felt stiffer than normal as well. The dealer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with steering gear box and rack and pinion failures. The contact was informed that the steering gear box and rack and pinon needed to be replaced. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall associated with the failure. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and a case was filed. The contact was provided a loyalty discount towards the cost of the repair, however the dealer declined. The manufacturer was informed that the contact was not a loyal customer. The failure mileage was approximately 58,000.

2017 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD, 1.5L turbo. Vehicle has experienced persistent rough running/idle, random misfires, and hesitation/jerking during acceleration. Genuine Honda OEM fuel injectors were replaced and the system was recalibrated, but the symptoms have persisted. Spark plugs have also previously been replaced. I became aware of NHTSA Recall 23V-858 involving fuel pump impeller failure in certain 2017–2022 Honda CR-V vehicles. Honda’s VIN-specific recall lookup currently shows no active recall for my vehicle. I am concerned that my vehicle may be experiencing a fuel-delivery problem similar to the condition addressed by Recall 23V-858 despite my VIN not being included in the recall population. The fuel pump has not yet been confirmed as the cause. I am submitting this complaint so the symptoms and VIN are documented and can be considered in determining whether vehicles outside the current recall population may experience a similar defect.

For the second time this year, all dash warning lights activated. In April, it was diagnosed as a failed battery, which we replaced. This week, the warning lights came back. The car is at Bobby Rahal Honda now, and they say the fuel injectors are faililng. We have authorized the repair, which will cost $1900+. I have subsequently turned to Dr. Google and Grok, and fuel injector failure is a common, known issue for this model based on searches of NHTSA, Honda forums, and elsewhere--though our VIN is not currently showing any recalls, and our dealer is charging us full price for the repair. This appears to be a widespread problem with the 2017 CR-V, and I would suggest that this has significant safety implications. I would like to see this escalated to a full recall, with reimbursement for repairs already completed and paid for.

The contact stated that 1.5 gallons of coolant was added to the vehicle every month after noticing that the reservoir was empty. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where unknown DTCs were retrieved associated with a compression issue within the engine, and a pressure test was needed. The dealer performed the pressure test, but no fault was found. The failure reoccurred three months later, and the vehicle was taken to the same independent mechanic, where the cause of the failure was not found. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on several occasions, and DTCs: P0302 and P0304 were retrieved. The contact stated that the spark plugs were replaced twice, and the ignition coil and ignition system were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 126,979.

I noticed that the steering on my 2017 Honda CR-V Touring felt heavy, which clearly indicates a malfunction or a safety shutdown of the electric power steering (EPS) system. Driver assist problems car braking and stopping without just cause actually causing safety issues. Computer issues. Computer replaced several times without resolving issues. Ongoing Engine issues reported to honda before the extended warranty was up. It wasn’t until after the extended warranty was up that American honda would address it. After numerous visits to different dealers for services finally this year I was told it was a head gasket issue. Honda refused to rectify or let in good faith making me come out of pocket more than 50% and purchase parts and honda refused to help I had to fight w them to get any help. I had to purchase the water pump and timing chain bc they wanted to put the old one on. They gave me 3 different significantly different quotes without reasoning. Then after receiving the car back over a month and a half later the car had safety issues stopping and braking on highway without reason. The car also still was sputtering and having issues w the engine. I called Westport honda (where I purchased it - where I had a lifetime warranty on the engine where they just finished doing to head gasket) they ignored me for 2 weeks letting me drive around w safety issues. I own a 2017 Honda CR-V Touring AWD, VIN [XXX]. While driving, the steering intermittently feels sticky, notchy, and jerky, like extra friction or sandpaper in the wheel. It is most noticeable at highway speeds during small lane corrections: the wheel momentarily catches or resists, then suddenly releases. This can cause overcorrection and makes it harder to keep a smooth, straight path. The problem does not happen every drive and there is usually no warning light. This matches the well-known “sticky/notchy steering” condition reported on many Honda CR-Vs with electric power steering (EPS) gearboxes. Honda issued safety recall 24V-744 and related service actions covering many 2022–2025 CR-Vs and similar models for a manufacturing defect in the EPS gearbox (worm gear/worm wheel friction and lubrication). A much smaller 2017–2018 recall (18V-663 / Honda 18-103) covered only a tiny number of vehicles for a different EPS gearbox torque-sensor magnet issue; my VIN is not included. All of the lights on the dash board go off. I’ve taken the vehicle to the mechanic and they say that there is nothing wrong. Honda just released recall notice for the Honday CR-C 2017 to update the computer, but my vehicle is not included in the recall. I have been dealing with this issue and the dealerships have said that they have rectified the issue but the problem returns. I think they just disconnect and reconnect the battery which resets but does not fix this problem. I’m shocked that my vehicle is not part of the computer update recall.

The manufacturer, American Honda, issued a 10-year extended warranty (TSB 19-091) for defective, leaking A/C condensers on the 2017 Honda CR-V. Authorized Honda dealerships (specifically Napleton Honda and Victory Honda) are systematically misdiagnosing consumer vehicles to evade this warranty. Dealership service departments are blaming vehicle system failures on peripheral components (such as "return lines" and "discharge lines") to charge consumers thousands of dollars out of pocket. In my case, I was charged $868.44 and $1,184.49 for these lines, yet independent UV dye testing proved the factory condenser was actively leaking fluid the entire time. The vehicle’s passenger cabin cannot be cooled, causing severe heat discomfort. American Honda corporate case managers are actively protecting these dealer practices by offering minor "goodwill checks" instead of requiring dealers to perform the safety and equipment remedies mandated by the corporate warranty extension. Honda must be investigated for warranty non-compliance and consumer deception regarding this known HVAC system defect.

The safety driver assist options work periodically ... all the dash lights are on when breaking system is not working properly. While driving with cruise control on the brake system/driver assist options will fail and car will automatically start slowing down. Not very safe!! The front camera seems to be causing the issue.

Car automatically applies brakes for no reason. Happens at least once a month. Beside the startle factor, I am going to cause an accident by someone rear ending me because brakes are being applied for no reason.

Vehicle may experience driveability issues, which may result in DTCs P0300 (random misfire detected), P0301 (No. 1 cylinder misfire detected), P0302 (No. 2 cylinder misfire detected), P0303 (No. 3 cylinder misfire detected), P0304 (No. 4 cylinder misfire detected), or P0172 (fuel system too rich) or a whirling noise coming from the engine compartment. POSSIBLE CAUSE Based on certain driving patterns and environmental factors, the DTC's stated above may be set or a whirling noise may occur. Apparently only certain vin numbers were affected, mine is not in the list but im still having the exact same issues.

My air bag light has come on. The vehicle has never been in an accident. There is no damage to the air bag. The shop stated it’s the passenger side curtain airbag The other issue is the a/c. There was a recall it got fixed but my a/c is still not working.

The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

The steering wheel is sticking while driving down the road. This happens all the time while driving. If you move the steering wheel it will go back to normal.

On 05/06/2026 the vehicle was in for service at the Honda dealership (The Automaster, 3328 Shelburne Rd. Shelburne VT 05482). The inspection report notes "Rust Holes forming above rear trailing arms, non reparable area, will not pass future state inspection, recommend customer contact Honda of America @ 1-800-999-1009". They also provided a picture of the problem. I took the car to another garage and was informed that YES, this was a real issue and that the garage owner just spoke with someone who had a 2018 CRV with the same problem. The Honda dealership sent me a Recommendation Letter that stated "***Rear trailing arms (soon), *** State Inspection.

All dash warning indicators come on randomly and a code reader indicates fuel injector issue. That was checked and is not the issue. This is a well-known symptom in this model year that head gasket leaks caused by under-specified head bolts do not keep the cylinder head sealed properly and this leads to many other issues.

Head Gasket failure at 105,000 in 1.5L Turbo engine like all the other CRVs.

I purchased this 2017 Honda CRV Touring edition in February 2026. A couple months after that, I was driving slowly (but slightly faster than usual) in the large parking lot of a local grocery story. The grocery store has movable speed bumps placed in the parking lot. As I was approaching one of the speed bumps, the car suddenly slammed on the brakes. To the best of my recollection, I do not believe I was given a warning first. When this happened, I of course felt a jolt. I was worried that I had hit something, but I concluded that I had not hit something and that jolt had just been an automatic braking incident caused by the speed bump up ahead. I was not previously aware that the car had an automatic braking feature. Later, I tried to recreate the incident by again approaching the speedbump from the same direction and at a similar speed, but I was not able to recreate it. I have now owned the car for about six months, and this is the only incident I am aware of in which the automatic emergency braking was used. (The various brake warnings -- the dashboard light and the beep -- have functioned acceptably.) I am concerned that this issue could lead to a crash, especially if it occurs in heavy traffic or while I am traveling at freeway speeds. If the car is going to be spooked by a speedbump, what else could cause it to be spooked?

My wife’s 2017 Honda cr-v lost power while on the highway. Which could’ve been a safety issue had she not known what to do. We limped it to Honda dealership. They say it was a blown head gasket. The blown head gasket caused the turbo to fail. This is a known issue on the 2017-2022 Honda 1.5 turbocharged engine. Top all that off we already replaced the turbo 4 months prior to the head gasket going out. So that’s two turbos and a head gasket in a 2017 vehicle that has 150,000 mile on it. I attempted goodwill with Honda which was denied.

At 110644 miles had to have head gasket replaced June 2023. Then July 17 had to have head gasket replaced again at 182782 Very upsetting

Air conditioning suddenly failed

I brought my 2017 Honda CRV (1.5L turbo engine) with approximately 83,000 miles into my independent mechanic on 6/12/26 to fix a crank oil seal after discovered at recent oil change by them and prior in April when I brought vehicle into Honda to replace extended warranty on A/C compressor shaft seal. When they started vehicle before repair white smoke filled the shop. Mechanic said it was head gasket. Brought to Honda, they diagnosed and agreed. There were no warning lights or issues leading up to this. My vehicle had inspection first week of April by same mechanic and I had also brought vehicle into Honda soon after to replace extended warranty on A/C compressor shaft seal. Honda completed head gasket and crank oil seal repair on 6/22/26 for a total cost of $6278.93

Over the past 6/7 months, the following: ALL warning lights on dashboard flashing whenever car in running, strong smell of gasoline detected in home garage, and 5/6 times during the past 4/5 weeks engine "rough" when starting cold accompanied by loss of power. The lack of effective warning notices and/or the sudden loss of power increases the risk of crash and injury. I understand that these are related to a known Manufacturer's defect. The dealer replaced the fuel injectors and provided some additional service. I understand that Honda has issued some "campaigns" and some vehicles have been granted extended warranties, etc. but I was told that this vehicle is not eligible. I would like to try to obtain reimbursement for the repairs since it appears to be related to a documented manufacturer's defect. I also understand that there has been a recall under this issue in Canada.

For several months now, car has been misfiring, skipping and going into limp mode. Spark plugs replaced and issue went away for about 2 months. Issue has resurfaced and took it to Honda dealership where I purchased vehicle to run a diagnostic test. Informed to resolve the issue need fuel injectors replacement, spark plug replacements, coolant reservoir is empty and to top it off, need a head gasket kit.

The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The manufacturer suggested that the contact call for assistance prior to repairing the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

My vehicle was taken into Automaster Honda, the dealership where I purchased it, on June 11, 2026, for the yearly required VT safety inspection and other minor service. I was told that due to rust holes near the REAR TRAILING ARMS my vehicle would not pass a safety inspection. Publicly available information indicates that this condition can potentially cause a loss of control of the vehicle, and thus a crash, and presumably, potential loss of life!! There is no recall for this issue in this model year Honda, there is no fix, (even though there was a recall on 2007-2011 model year Hondas for the same issue) and my dealership is not able to recommend anyone who might be able to fix this problem. They can't fix it. According to the service manager at Automaster, Honda Canada has reportedly been issued a bulletin indicating that this 'problem' is neither a safety or structural issue but no such bulletin has been issued for Honda U.S. He advised me that my vehicle is safe to drive; however, I still cannot get an inspection sticker, without which I could receive a citation, and I am still troubled each time I get in this car. I don't think I could sell this car even if I wanted to because of this issue. The only entity who has inspected my vehicle is the dealership. There were no warning lights or messages and last year, supposedly conducting the same inspection, there was no indication of this problem or I was not informed of one at that time. I am going in July 16 for a necessary

I have a 2017 Honda crv which has intermittent bucking type issues, if I accelerate during that time the check engine light will turn on and the car will stop, sometimes when I turn the car on it will shake a bit like it struggled to turn on, in these cases most warning lights will turn on but the car will drive. Battery has been checked and it giving good output, what else could it be. Every warning ligh turns on and the car does not let me go faster than 25mph. This happens 2x on a highway and this time while home in my drive way.

I’ve been informed that my vehicle needs a new head gasket at 89,000 miles. Upon research this is a very common issue with this year Honda CRV. It requires a $4500 repair, which for a Honda with less than 100,000 miles is unacceptable. I asked what preventative maintenance should I have done to prevent this and I was told there was absolutely nothing we could’ve done. We contacted Honda and after two weeks we were told that they were not going to provide any assistance.

The car misfires every now and then. For last two years (I bought it used two yers ago odometer=105k now 113k), it has been a repeated problem. A few times it lost all power and stopped completely. Once on highway. Once I had to get it towed. Another occasion it restarted after 15 minutes break as if nothing had gone wrong. This is very scary - I have reduced my driving and try to avoid highways as much as possible. It gives a code of P0302. It happens irrespective of hot or cold, speed or outside temperature. The mechanic repaired it - by changing injector coil, spark plugs, once even added injector cleaning fluid to see if the problem would go away. Plus top up the coolant. In the most recent mechanic trip - he tested for coolant leakage on head gasket and confirmed that is the problem. He also informed me that it is a widely known problem with this model (2017 Honda CRV 1.5L) although I wasn't aware of that when I bought it from a used car dealer, basically relying on Honda's reputation.

Our 2017 CRV had 91,000 miles on it. Over the course of a few months, occasionally we saw warning dashlights come on, and had sluggish engine performance. We took it for diagnostic testing at two Honda Dealerships. Both determined it needed a new head gasket and turbo charge unit, costing about $8-10K to repair, depending on what they saw when they disassembled it. Contacted American Honda for hardship/goodwill relief but was denied support. Upon research, we have found that the 2017 and 2018 Honda 1.5 turbo charge engines have experienced significant issues and has a flawed design that allows fluids to mix, causing this type of engine failure. We regularly maintained this vehicle with recommended oil changes and tire rotations.

All my dashboard lights came on and it was driving sluggish and idling a little hard. I took it in for diagnostic and they said that it was a blown head gasket. They told me they only do one oil change and they do not look at the bottom of part of the engine as that’s another teardown. They had my vehicle for a week. I got it back on Friday. Didn’t drive it on Saturday. today is Sunday. I drove it less than 40 miles. All the lights came back on and it smells like antifreeze.

Emission warning light along with LKAS, ACC, Brake system are coming on the DASH. No driveability issues. The dealership in Walnut Creek pull code and find P0304 missfire #4 CYCLINDE, test #1 and #2 FAIL. Recommending to replace all 4 injectors.

Failing head gasket that had to be replaced. Car stationary at the time warning lights came on. Car driven to dealer for assessment and repair.
