The vehicles are equipped with passenger frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

Risk. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began August 12, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are F5F and Q5E.

Defect. HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 HONDA CIVIC VEHICLES. TO PREVENT FUEL FROM LEAKING OUT OF A VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK INTO THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER IN THE EVENT A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT OCCURS, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE IS EQUIPPED WITH A ROLL OVER VALVE (ROV). DUE TO IMPROPER ULTRASONIC WELDING OF THE PLASTIC CASE THAT HOUSES THE ROV WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, THE CASE MATERIAL MAY BREAK OR CRACK, WHICH MAY CAUSE THE ROV TO SEPARATE FROM THE CASE AND FAIL TO FUNCTION, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF FUEL LEAKAGE IN A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT.

Risk. FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND IF NECESSARY REPLACE THE MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 25, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked in a parking lot, the engine was powered off with the key in the ignition, and the front driver-side air bag and front driver-side air bag curtain had independently deployed. No warning lights illuminated, and there was no impact. In addition, the contact stated that her mother was sitting in the passenger seat, and the failure occurred while rolling up the front passenger-side window. The contact's mother sustained minor injuries to her left ear; however, did not seek medical attention. The local dealer was contacted; however, the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The contact owned a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while attempting to park in a parking lot, he was blinded by the sun and collided with the circular concrete base of a parking lot light on private property. The contact mentioned that the engine was revving high. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact was rendered unconscious by the impact. The contact sustained a cracked sternum, rib, right shoulder, back, and hip injuries, and also aggravated a prior spine injury. The contact stated that he observed coolant leaking from the radiator on the ground under the vehicle. Medical attention was required for these injuries. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where the vehicle was diagnosed that the radiator was destroyed and the vehicle was deemed totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

On August 9 while grandson was in route on I20 toward Birmingham, Al. to attend grandparent funeral, driver air bag exploded. He struggled to take a close next exit. He pulled car to side of road and ran away from car. He said it was full of smoke and small pieces. He feared the car was going to catch fire. His phone was dead and there was nothing off the exit so after smoke cleared and he felt safer, he drove car to my home and parked under carport. I called Sunny King Honda on Monday and they said that I had to contact American Honda. I was told they would send someone to inspect, but after many times calling, they said insurance needed to inspect. On October 1, Insurance looked at car and did car fax and found no reason for air bag to explode. They had already given me case number but finally a case manager, named Ilene, answered and said to take to dealership on October 24 for inspection and test. I spoke with guy at dealership and he said because car does not need to be driven, I could leave there and they would lock up. I have called again many times trying to find out when car will be fixed and she is not returning my calls. It has been 3 more weeks since dropping off at dealership. It is going on 4 months without car. This could have been a death complaint instead of needing repair. He was fortunate that his left arm was really red and no other harm. Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that upon obtaining the vehicle history report, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle's mileage was 89,000, and at the time of registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 161,158. The contact stated that there was a white substance throughout the vehicle, which was determined to be mold.

Airbag sensor light for front passenger seat has recently lit up and won’t turn off. Honda dealer said my daughter needs to replace the passenger seat weight sensor which means replacing the whole seat at $3000+ cost. Please check, thank you.

Each time I applied brakes I would hear a scraping sound in sync with a point or span of tire rotation. Then as I was attempting to stop at a red light the brakes failed. The nearest place was OR automotive and they rebuilt rear braking system yet I could hear the same scraping sound. So I carried the car to Honda dealership. They adjusted brakes $237.00 and replaced $341.00 the two rear drums. The sound remains and is magnified. They are claiming it is because e brake cables stretch. Somehow the stretching can cause entire rear brake on that side to catastrophically fail.

The contact stated that the failure also occurred while attempting to make a left turn. There were no warning lights illuminated. Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V661000 (Air Bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the rear passenger's side seat belt failed to buckle when the passenger was attempting to insert the seat belt. -Two back seat belts have malfunctioned. The back driver side seat buckle has unattached from the car. The middle back seat belt came unattached from the car. It is available for inspection but have an appointment to get fixed tomorrow. -Mine and my family's safety was put at an INCREASED risk for danger. Two seat belts have malfunctioned in the back seat just from normal wear. My infant daughter rides in the back seat and I trust that the seat belts would function correctly for normal use! -I am not sure. I have an appointment with Honda dealership tomorrow. -It has not currently been inspected. -No symptoms prior and no reasonable explanation for this to happen.

THE TRUNK LID HASN'T BEEN RIGHT ALL ALONG. I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW MANY TIMES IT HAS COME DOWN AND HIT ME ON THE HEAD. NOW, THE BAR THAT KEEPS THE LID OPEN HAS SNAPPED AND THE TRUNK WILL NOT STAY OPEN BY ITSELF. IT CLOSES WITH SUCH FORCE, IT COULD REALLY INJURE A PERSON,. IT WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE WHEN IT HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE AND WAS TOWED TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE VISOR HAS SPLIT AND JUST HANGS DOWN IN THE LINE OF VISION....I PURCHASED A NEW GENUINE HONDA VISOR AND THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING TO IT. NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE VISOR IS ALSO BEGINNING TO SPLIT. HONDA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR DEFECTIVE VISORS. IT IS NOT OVERUSED OR ABUSED IN ANY WAY. MY VEHICLE IS ALWAYS WELL MAINTANINED.

FRONT WHEEL PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT IS GOT LOCKED AND GOT STUCK BESIDE THE SEAT DUE TO DESIGN FLAWS WITH SEAT. IT'S NOW NO MORE IN USE UNTIL THE ISSUE HAS BEEN ADDRESS. WE HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT LOCAL HONDA DEALERS BUT THEY ARE ENTERTAIN OUR COMPLAINTS. THIS ISSUE IS BOTHERING US TO TRAVEL TOGETHER WITH FAMILY DUE TO SAFETY MEASURE FAILURE. I BOUGHT A 2011 HONDA CIVIC COUPE. I BOUGHT IT NEW AND HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER. 2 YEARS AGO THE PAINT BEGAN PEELING ON THE TRUNK. THE PEELING HAS NOW EXTENDED FROM TRUNK TO THE ROOF. THE PAINT ON THE ROOF IS ALMOST ENTIRELY PEELING. THE TRUNK HAS HUGE SPOTS WHERE IT IS PEELING. THE HOOD HAS WHITE LINES ON IT ALSO FROM PAINT FAILURE. THIS CAR NOW LOOKS RIDICULOUS AND IS EMBARRASSING TO DRIVE.HONDA ISSUED A RECALL BUT NEVER ACTUALLY ALERTED PEOPLE THAT MAY HAVE THIS PROBLEM.
