LOCKS FAIL TO DISENGAGE AND DOOR CANNOT BE OPENED MANUALLY OR ELECTRONICALLY. MY CHILD HAD TO CLIMB OUT THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VAN. THIS POSES A DANGER DURING AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE ADVISE DODGE TO RECALL LOCK ACTUATORS ON CARAVAN MODELS. I RESEARCHED AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A PREVALENT COMPLAINT AMONG MANY DODGER OWNERS.

What owners reported
Newest filingsTHE DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DONOR'S LOCK WAS STUCK. THE DOOR WOULDN'T OFTEN WITH THE KEY FOB OR MANUALLY UNLOCKING. I PRESSED THE FOB SEVERAL TIMES TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR. I TRIED MANUALLY UNLOCKING THE DOOR AGAIN AND IT FINALLY UNLOCKED. MY TWO AND THREE YEAR WERE IN THE CAR AND I COULDN'T GET THEM UNBUCKLED FROM THEIR CAR SEATS. ANNOYING AS WELL AS UNSAFE. THE DOOR NOW MAKES A BUZZING/ RATTLING NOISE WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND THE LOCKS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK.

Reading this record
No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.
Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
Most recent recall on file: none. Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation.
