Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

Risk. A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17287.

In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured February 12, 2014, to March 14, 2014. Due to an improper weld on the rear shock absorbers, the shock absorber tubes may separate from the shock absorber clevis brackets resulting in a sudden change in vehicle handling.

Risk. A sudden change in vehicle handling increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace both of the rear shock absorbers, free of charge. The recall began on August 18, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1- 800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14302.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured November 20, 2013, to March 25, 2014, and equipped with optional sport seats. The seats do not meet internal specifications for injury protection in relation to an unbelted young child.

Risk. In the event of a crash necessitating side impact air bag deployment, an unbelted young child may be at an increased risk of neck injury.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger's side impact air bag, free of charge. The recall is began in early August 2014. Owners should not allow small children to ride in vehicles unbelted or in the front passenger seat. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14240.

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles manufactured April 23, 2014 to April 25, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) may experience an internal short circuit, resulting in the deactivation of the air bags and seat belt pretensioners.

Risk. If the SDM short circuits, the air bags may not deploy and the seat belt pretensioners may not activate in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM), free of charge. The recall began on August 1, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14219.

If I fill my tank all the way, fuel leaks. It doesn't reach the ground but if you look underneath, you can see where the fuel has leaked. Also, the fumes are so bad it cannot be kept in the garage. There was a warranty program (Special Coverage Adjustment #17469) for this but there are a lot of other cars that did not display these symptoms and were not fixed while the warranty period was intact. Now the timeframe has passed (not mileage) and these parts that are known to be faulty and failing. The dealerships are trying to also tack on extra work/parts/costs to these repairs by telling customers to replace the fuel tank when in actuality, the problem is the fuel pump module and o-ring. Repairs have been quotes at $3500 which is ridiculous considering GM knew the parts were faulty.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that there was a strong fuel odor coming from vehicle while parked or while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The technician removed the fuel tank and discovered that the hose connected to the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the manufacturer about the failure; however, the manufacturer stated that the warranty had expired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with the same information as the dealer. The failure mileage was 42,134

Known Fuel Tank crack GM Memo "Special Coverage Adjustment 17469 Fuel Leaks at the Primary Fuel Pump Module Flange", whose previous warranty extension has expired and shouldn't be! GM assumes no responsibility for notifying vehicle owners who purchased used vehicles from non-dealers, which is what I did. I never received any notices about this leak from them since 2018, when I bought the vehicle used from a non-GM dealer. I just recently discovered the leak and had it repaired for $ 5,300.00. I had been driving a vehicle that could have exploded for over 7 years and did not know it. There must be others who are still driving these without knowing. Below is my request to GM to reconsider their 'not covered' response to my email. I suggest that a known Special Coverage Adjustment 17469 Fuel Leaks at the Primary Fuel Pump Module Flange of the gas tank is a life-threatening issue and should never expire! Especially, since many of us bought these vehicles used, 2018 in my case, and have NEVER received any notifications from dealers or GM about this issue. How many others are still outstanding and could blow someone up? The pictures below were taken at my Watson Chevrolet dealer in Tucson, AZ this month, which shows that the crack is exactly what was outlined in your publication 17469, that I never received. The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette equipped with Silver's North America NEOMAX coil-overs. The contact stated that while driving through a parking garage at less than 10 MPH, there was an abnormal popping sound coming from the vehicle after driving over a speed bump. The rear driver’s side of the vehicle lowered as the subframe detached from the vehicle. Due to the failure the vehicle remained stuck in the parking garage because the vehicle could not be towed out of the parking garage. The contact also stated that the vehicle could not be moved without causing further damage to it. The contact stated that the vehicle became an obstruction to the other motorist entering the parking garage. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and an agent attempted to assist the contact; however, the agent stated that any attempts to move the vehicle could be dangerous and cause more damage to the vehicle. The part was not yet replaced. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

The contact owned a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while trying to get out of parallel parking, the accelerator was depressed, and the vehicle jumped. There were no warning lights illuminated. As a result, the vehicle crashed into the vehicle that was in front. The contact snapped her neck. No medical assistance was needed. No police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be repaired however the failure persisted four more times. On a separate occasion, the vehicle would accelerate on its own without any reason, the contact would turn the vehicle off and back on, to drive the vehicle back to normal conditions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where unknown repairs were completed. The dealer informed the contact that the gas pedal had glue on it. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 4,400.

The electric power-steering assist is failing while my vehicle is in motion. I lose power steering and have to use significantly more effort and may lead to a crash, at any speeds. I was driving on the highway when this happened, although it has happened at slower, neighborhood speeds. When this happens, I see a warning message on the dashboard stating the power-steering assist failed and service power steering, drive with caution and the steering is all non-power steering. At times, when I stop the car, and turn the power off, and re-start the car, the power steering works again for a short period of time, and then fails again. This is extremely dangerous. I cannot find any recalls on my car VIN # for this issue for the 2014 Corvette, but see the exact symptoms for the 2017 Corvette (GM' number for this recall is N182182760). Help....please!

09/30/2024 The smell is gasoline is emanating from the driver side after I put gas at a local gas station. A short while after I arrived home, the smell of gasoline was still strong. I observed a puddle of gas by the driver side door underneath the gas filler. I have not attempted to start the car until I know it is safe to move to a local dealership or mechanic. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, upon inspection of the engine compartment, the contact became aware of a fuel leak; however, the location of the leak was unknown. The contact was made aware of the Chevrolet Special Coverage Program: 17469 (Cracks on the Top Surface of Fuel Tank Fuel Pump Module); however, the Extended Warranty Coverage had expired before the repair was performed. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired because the warranty had expired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000.

Earlier in the year I called GM about getting my Navigation updated. I ask when the next update would made current. I was told it would probably be in May. I decided to wait until then and it would be more accurate. When I called, they told me that GM had decided not to furnish a new update. I then tried to order one for last year and they could not update that either. I was willing to pay for it. With all the changes in highway's, it is dangerous to try to use it. They sold me the navigation and then made it obsolete. They did Bluetooth the radio but not the navigation. This is a safety hazard, and I feel the least they could do is charge me for the update and furnish it. It is still accurate except for new streets and there are a lot of changes. Help!

The vehicle fails to keep the engine cool when idling or traveling at low speeds and in low gears. When at a stop light, the engine temperature quickly increases to unsafe temperatures, and has even had to be shut off and went up in steam from the engine. Coolant level was and is still full. I believe the cooling fans fail to stay on, maybe due to being turned off on the highways, and therefore fail to turn back on after exiting the highway.

The passenger seat belt immediately locks down and over tightens to a point of almost crushing the passenger. I do believe this belt will not function properly in an accident and may also fail to activate the air bag

ENGINE SHAKES VIOLENTLY AT ALL RPM RANGES,VIBRATES WHOLE CAR ENGINE MOUNTS ARE FINE DRIVELINE DEFECTIVE CAR WAS INPSPECTED BY DEALER SAYS $6,000 TO $8,000 TO REPAIR.

Center information screen has electrical issue and goes blank for days or weeks at a time restricting ability for monitoring safety issues with the vehicle. Vehicle available for inspection. This malfunction restricts abilities to monitor safety information on the screen. Mechanic has looked at the issue and was not able to address the issue. The issue has not been inspected by police or insurance. There was no indications prior to the failure of electrical screen. The issue first started about a year ago (03-30-2021).

Wheels Bent

The contact owns a 2014 Corvette Chevrolet. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle misfired and was not running properly. The information center became inoperable. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where the information center and plugs were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer a second time and was diagnosed that metal shavings were in the oil pan and that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that while driving in his neighborhood, the stabilizer and engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 4,900.

2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULLTY VALVE SPRING WHICH RESULTED IN AN EXPLOSION. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ENGINE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE EXPLOSION. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.

In November 2021, upon smelling gasoline in my garage I discovered fuel leaking from the left rear side of the vehicle. I brought the car to the Van Chevrolet dealer in Scottsdale, AZ who claimed that no recall or extended warranty was available for the vehicle. In October 2016, I received a notice from Chevrolet that my car could develop cracks in the fuel tank and to NOT take it to a dealer until the crack manifested itself. The notice Enclosure 16009 is already posted on NHTSA: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10130604-9999.pdf The dealer advised that the notice had expired and I need to cover the repair out of pocket. This is a blatant safety issue with leaking fuel and the car is undrivable and is a danger to me and others. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the failure.

THE ELECTRIC POWER-STEERING ASSIST IS FAILING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I LOSE POWER STEERING AND HAVE TO USE MORE EFFORT TO MAINTAIN THE STEERING DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY, AND MAY LEAD TO A CRASH, AT ANY SPEEDS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I SEE A WARNING MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD STATING THE POWER-STEERING ASSIST FAILED, DRIVE WITH CAUTION AND THE STEERING IS ALL 'NON-POWER STEERING'. WHEN I STOP THE CAR, AND TURN THE POWER OFF, AND RE-START THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING WORKS AGAIN FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, AND THEN FAILS AGAIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I CANNOT FIND ANY RECALLS ON MY CAR VIN # FOR THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, I DO SEE A NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V086. GM'S OWN NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS N182182760 ON OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE.

DIXIE HWY, ELIZABETHTOWN, KY, 42701, (270) 505-4777) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE LCD THAT SHOWS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTED FLICKERING AND NOW IS COMPLETELY BLACK. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, I CONCLUDE THAT IT IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR OF CORVETTE.

THE LCD WHICH SHOWS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTED FLICKERING AND NOW IS COMPLETELY BLACK. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN DEC. OF 2013 AND ONLY HAVE LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET HAS SHOWN ME THAT IT IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR OF CORVETTE.

THE STITCHING ON THE DASH AND THE LEATHER AROUND THE AIRBAG IS COMING APART

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FISHTAIL. THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO STABILIZE THE VEHICLE AS VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND REMAINED PARKED FOR ONE WEEK. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AGAIN, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KUNI CHEVROLET CADILLAC (916-538-721, LOCATED AT 7 2449 FULTON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95825) WHERE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER'S FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,091.

REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY PER GM'S SERVICE BULLETIN NO: 13384 "SUMMARY: THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY IN CERTAIN 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTES WERE SHIPPED WITH IMPROPER FLUID LEVELS. OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT SUFFICIENT FLUID IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY COULD PRODUCE A LOUD WHINE AND/OR GEAR OR BEARING NOISE." THESE VEHICLES WERE THEN TOPPED OFF WITH FLUID AND SOME STILL HAD NOISES PRESENT REQUIRING DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLIES TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER THE ISSUE PERSISTS. DEALERS AND THE MANUFACTER WERE TELLING CUSTOMERS THE "WARBLE" SOUND THEY HEAR IS JUST DUE TO ENGINE NOISE/VIBRATION AND THE CYLINDER DEACTIVATION. NOW THAT VEHICLES ARE OUT OF WARRANTY THE ISSUE IS THAT DIFFERENTIALS INTERNALS ARE BEYOND REPAIR AND NEED REPLACING. GM HAS CHOOSEN NOT TO ISSUE A STANDARD RECALL, EVEN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED 2014 MODELS WERE NOTIFIED, HANDLED AT DEALERS, AND PUT A STOP SALE ON VEHICLES FOR THE ISSUE BUT THEY ENDED THAT PROGRAM 11/30/2015. VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE WILL COMMONLY HAVE A WARNING INDICATOR SAYING "SERVICE REAR AXLE" OR "REAR AXLE SYSTEM OFF" POP UP INDICATING WHERE THE ISSUE IS. COMMON CHECKS INCLUDE FLUID LEVEL, BATTERY CONNECTION, CONTROLLER/SENSOR PLUG CONNECTIONS AND MORE. VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE CAN LOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL THEIR VEHICLE AT SPEED OR HAVE THEIR DRIVE AXLES LOCK UP WHILE MOVING CAUSING INJURIES, FATALITIES, AND MORE AVOIDABLE DAMAGES

INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM AND RADIO DISPLAY HAS INTERMITTENT FLICKERING OR ROLLING SCREEN WHILE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY. THIS FLICKERING IS A CONCERN BECAUSE THE SCREEN CAN BE SEEN OUT OF THE CORNER OF YOUR EYES CAUSING DANGEROUS DISTRACTED VISION WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, THE BACK UP CAMERA HAS FLICKERING THAT MAKES BACKING UP DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. THIS STARTED IN OCTOBER 2018 AND HASN'T DISAPPEARED. GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM SINCE NOV. 2013 (#PIC5934 AND P1-1318NHTSA#10056464). I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THE PROBLEM ONLY TO GET A RUN AROUND OF DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AND DIFFERENT SERVICE REQUEST NUMBERS, BUT NO ACTION. THEY NEVER RETURN THEIR PHONE CALLS. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY GIVE COST ASSISTANCE, BUT ONLY AFTER I PAY A DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, WHICH I DID. TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM COSTS $1335. THEY BARELY OFFERED ANY COST ASSISTANCE EVEN THOUGH I OWN 2 GM VEHICLES, HAVE THEM SERVICED AT GM DEALERSHIPS, IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHERE MOST PEOPLE DRIVE FOREIGN VEHICLES. THE FOREIGN CARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IN THE PAST STAND BY THEIR VEHICLES. I FEEL GM SHOULD DO THE SAME ESPECIALLY IF THEY WANT TO COMPETE IN THE CROWDED SO. CAL. MARKET. GM SEEMS TO BE ABANDONING THEIR DUTY OF NOT ISSUING A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. ON 12/07/2017 I PURCHASED A 2014 CHEV. CORVETTE C7 MODEL (WHITE) FROM JUD KUHN CHEVROLET 3740 HWY. 9 EAST, LITTLE RIVER SC. ON 01/02/2018 SAID CORVETTE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKAGE UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER DOOR AND RIGHT REAR TIRE AREA. I TOOK A PHOTO DATED AND NOTIFIED DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AFTER SNOW STORM CLEARED.IN LUIE, MECHANICAL PRELIMINARY REVIEW SHOWN A DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKS ON RIGHT REAR AXEL SEAL AT THE REAR END AND GAS/FUEL RIGHT SIDE LEAKS AT TOP OF GAS TANK. DEALER TOLD ME DIFFERENTIAL WAS UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER TRYING TO GET ME TO COVER FUEL LEAK COST. I NOTICED YESTERDAY WHEN ENTERING MY POLE BARN, A STRONG FUEL ODOR..UPON EXTENSIVE SMELLING, I LOCATED A FUEL LEAK WHEN I HAD THE CAR ON MY LIFT, THE FUEL TANK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS GASOLINE RUNNING DOWN THE PLASTIC TANK. I HAVE MODINE HEATERS IN THIS BLDG, SO I LOWERED THE CAR AND PUSHED IT OUTSIDE WITH HELP. I BOUGHT THE CAR PRE OWNED FROM BERSTROM CHEVY IN OSHKOSH, AND THEY NEVER GAVE ME SOME LETTER THAT I LEARNED WAS SENT TO ALL OWNERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, JUST SHORT OF A RECALL. WHEN I TURN THE STERLING WHEEL AT TIMES THE CAR WILL COMPLETELY LOSE POWER AND THE WHEEL WILL LOCK UP. ALSO IF I TURN ON MY TURN SIGNAL NO MATTER OF THE SPEED I'M TRAVELING THE POWER WILL CUT OFF.

THERE WAS NO STABILITY OR TRACTION CONTROL WHAT SO EVER. I WAS IN ECO MODE WHICH HAS NORMAL STAB/TRAC CONTROL. I BROUGHT TO DEALER WHEN WARNING LIGHTS COME UP, BUT DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL NO WORRY EVERYTHING IS OK. BUT IT WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!

LOW SP CRSH CAR SHATTERED AND FELL APART AT ALL WELD POINTS IN THE FRAME. OCCUPANTS WORE SEAT BELTS. I WAS FOUND IN THE ROAD, MY PASSENGER DIED. THE FRONT OF CAR BROKE OFF AND BACK BROKE OFF ALL AT THE WELDED CONNECTIONS LEAVING THE OCCUPANTS EXPOSED. CAST ALUMINUM SECTIONS OF THE FRAME IS WHERE ALL THE WELDS FAILED. CAST ALUMINUM CANNOT BE WELDED, UNKNOWN WHEN I PURCHASED CAR. WAS NOT IN MANUAL OR SPECS, OR I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF TRASH. CRASH AT SPEED OF 40-50, COUNTRY ROAD ON SLIGHT CURVE. I DID NOT ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE ON MY OWN, AND PRESSING THE BRAKE DID NOTHING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THIS, MY VEHICLE IS POSSIBLY TOTALLED AND LUCKILY MYSELF, OR NO ONE ELSE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT OR LOST OUR LIFE. THE VEHICLE DIC DISPLAY GOES BLANK PERIODICALLY. THE ANALOG GAUGES WORK AT ALL TIMES. WHEN THE DISPLAY IS BLANK, AND WHILE DRIVING, THE ANALOGS WILL GO FULL SCALE AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THEN THE ANALOG GAUGES RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION. WHILE DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF ABOUT 30 MINUTES OR MORE, THE DISPLAY BECOMES OPERATIVE, AND ALL STEERING WHEEL COMMANDS FUNCTION. THE DISPLAY AND GAUGES OPERATE NORMALLY FOR DAYS. THEN AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE WHEN I OPEN THE LEFT DOOR, DAYS LATER, THE DISPLAY DOES NOT COME ON. AND REPEATS THE CYCLE. I HAVE INFORMED GM AND HAVE AN OPEN CASE. MY CAR HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING IMPROPER (INTENSITY) AND SPEED CONTROL (ERRATIC CONTROL) BOTH OPERATED IMPROPERLY. I FINALLY FOUND A DEALER THAT AGREED THERE WAS A PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM WAS THE INTERFACE BETWEEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SEVERAL COMPUTERS IN THE CAR. IN AN ATTEMPT TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTERS IT WAS FOUND THE PANEL WAS SO DEFECTIVE THE COMPUTERS COULD NOT BE PROGRAMED. IT TURNS OUT THE PROBLEM IS SO PERVASIVE THAT THERE ARE NO REPAIR PARTS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE TO FIX MY CAR. IT WAS BEEN AWAITING A PART NOW FOR OVER 6 WEEKS WITH NO IDEA WHEN ONE WILL BE AVAILABLE. SO I AM WITHOUT THE CAR WHICH IS INOPERABLE UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. IT SEEMS THAT IF THIS PROBLEM SO LARGE THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE NOR CAN IT BE DETERMINED WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE THERE MUST BE A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF. I HAVE TALKED TO CHEVROLET AS FAR UP THE LINE AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE WITH NO ANSWER AVAILABLE. THIS TOOK 2 YEARS OF EFFORT TO GET CHEVROLET TO LOOK AT THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE MAINTENANCE ADVISORIES OUT ABOUT THE ISSUE.

HID LIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT NOTICE OR WARNING. ONLY THE LOWER LIGHTS ARE OPERATIONAL. REGULAR LIGHTS ARE OUT AND HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ARE OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND THE CAR MALFUNCTIONED WITHOUT WARNING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NEW MODEL. I HAVE A 2005 AND HAVE ONLY HAD TO REPLACE ONE LIGHT ONE TIME AND HAVE NEARLY 200K MILES. THE SERVICE CENTER STATED THEY'VE NEVER REPLACED THE HID LIGHTS ON A CORVETTE SINCE EMPLOYED WITH THE COMPANY AND THOUGHT SINCE BOTH WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME THERE MAY BE OTHER ISSUES. ONLINE RESEARCH DEMONSTRATES THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THE CAR PROVIDED NO WARNINGS THAT THE LIGHTS WERE GOING TO GO OUT OR THAT THEY WERE OUT.

LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL WHILE TRAVELLING AT UNIFORM HIGHWAY SPEEDS (67 MPH) IN A SLIGHT TURN AND RAIN. AFTER CRASHING, FOUND RIGHT REAR TOE LINK BROKEN AWAY FROM KNUCKLE, ALLOWING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL TO ARTICULATE AND TOE-IN/OUT EASILY.
