Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, XT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, 2018-2021 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, 2019-2020 Chevrolet Blazer, Silverado 1500, GMC Acadia, Sierra 1500, and certain Continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.

Risk. Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.

Risk. Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. The diffuser component of the Roof-Rail Air Bag (RRAB) inflator may not have been properly crimped to the inflator and could separate from the inflator during air bag deployment.

Risk. If the diffuser separates from the inflator during deployment, RRAB performance may be degraded, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the suspect RRAB modules, free of charge. The recall began September 3, 2020. 2020 Chevy Blazer LT 3.6 L V6 I'm filing this complaint regarding multiple concerning mechanical and safety related issues with my 2020 Chevy Blazer LT that I purchased brand new and currently have 54,224 miles . Without warning, My vehicle developed several problems simultaneously. The check engine light came on, The engine cooling fan started running continuously at high speed, the AC stopped blowing cold air and is warm air, the steering assist reduced came on and my chevy app notified me that I have an engine cooling system malfunction and to service now. It's showing a P0128 code when I had it checked. After doing some research, I discovered GM issued a thermostat special coverage program for certain vehicles 2021-and newer models. Mine isn't part of it because of the year and isn't covered by the power train warranty for the same reason even though they all have the same engine. I only have 54,000 miles! I'm very concerned over the steering assist being reduced! What if the steering goes out while I'm driving? I have my grandchildren all the time. I need my car! There are several other complaints on here for the same vehicle and the same problem! Why isn't the 2020 Blazer covered under this special coverage program? The dealerships all say it's a well known problem! I believe this issue deserves investigation !

My 2020 Chevrolet Blazer experienced severe mechanical problems, including stuttering, loss of power, and the engine shutting off unexpectedly while I was driving. The vehicle subsequently would not operate normally. On February 25, 2026, Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Duluth performed a diagnostic inspection and recommended nearly $20,000 in repairs, including transmission-related repairs. However, the dealership did not identify or disclose any alternator fire damage or related electrical safety concerns. In October 2026, an independent mechanic discovered significant burn damage on the alternator. The damage was visible externally, and further inspection of the alternator’s interior revealed additional evidence of burning. I believe this condition may have contributed to the vehicle’s sudden loss of power and shutdown. This presents a serious safety concern because an unexpected engine shutdown while driving can increase the risk of a collision, and an electrical failure involving burning components may present a fire hazard. The vehicle has not been driven since the dealership’s inspection. The damaged alternator has been preserved, and photographs were taken documenting its condition. The component is available for further inspection upon request. I am requesting an investigation into this alternator failure and the associated vehicle safety risks.

The thermostat is malfunctioning along with engine temperature coolant sensor. This causes the temperature gauge on the dashboard to be completely disabled and not moving off cold, it disables the air conditioner, makes the engine cooling fan to run extremely high nonstop, and places the vehicle into an unpredictable limp mode or fail safe mode. This was identified as faulty by GM and they have issued a special service bulletin that they will repair it up to a 150,000 miles or 15 years or reimburse customers up to $1200 on 2021 models. The 2020 models use the same engine and parts but they refuse to include them which is an unfair exclusion since they admitted to a faulty part. 2020 should be included with the same 150,000 miles and 15 year coverage or reimbursement.

The radiator and thermostat on my 2020 Blazer had to be replaced at less than 35,000 miles. It was out of warranty and the Chevy dealer charged me $3,500 to replace them. Internet sources state that this is a common problem with this car. I complained to Chevy corporate and they refunded $1,000. I do not feel this was a fair settlement due to the fact that it is a common problem.

Power steering went out while driving making it impossible to steer.

This happened back in May and the dealership couldn’t find anything wrong and it happened again today. I am driving and the car will shut off. A message pops up saying shift to neutral and press start again. It’s very dangerous and frustrating.

The screen displayed shift to park. The car wouldn’t not recognize it was in park. Had to hit the shifter to get the car to recognize it was in park or it wouldn’t let you turn the car off. There was nothing other than the warning on the screen when we went to get gas and needed to turn the car off. It hasn’t been inspected by any of for this issue. I’m just afraid one day the car may roll if it doesn’t recognize it’s in park.

Vehicle: 2020 Chevrolet Blazer V6 System: Electronic Transmission Range Select (ETRS) – Gear Shifter / Park Engagement Concern Type: Potential Unintended Vehicle Motion / Failure to Confirm Park State Description of the Issue On the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer V6, the Electronic Transmission Range Select (ETRS) system fails to confirm that the transmission is in Park, even when the physical gear shifter lever is placed in the Park position. As a result The dashboard displays a "SHIFT TO PARK" warning message in the Driver Information Center (DIC). The vehicle continues to beep after the ignition is turned off. The vehicle does not fully power down, remaining in accessory/ON mode because the ETRS system has not received a valid Park confirmation signal from the shifter position sensor. This issue presents a potential Unintended Vehicle Motion (UVM) hazard for the following reasons: 1. Vehicle May Not Be Secured in Park The "SHIFT TO PARK" message indicates the ETRS system does not confirm the transmission is in the Park state. If the park pawl has not fully engaged — even though the shifter appears to be in Park — the vehicle is not mechanically secured. Car is in park but the car alerts that it is not in park ( causing radio and light s to stay on ) - happens continually and from what I have heard from other people and mechanics - this is a known issue with Chevy

The car is not sensing that it is in park when it is. When I place it in park and turn the car off it dings and says shift into park however it already is in park. Therefore the car will not turn off. I had to jiggle the shift or turn the car on, reverse then go forward then park to get it to register. This has taken up to 10 minutes and it’s getting worse. This is a known issue that is referenced in GM Technical Service Bulletin 19-NA-206.

I'm having an issue with the airbag light keep coming on when I drive at times not safe.

I was driving and steering reduced drive with caution notification and brake assist notification came on and then engine light and the temp gage went to cold and stayed there. My steering stiffened up making it hard to steer. This is a known problem with the Chevy blazers and it had to do with the thermostat needing replaced.

Variable Valve Timing (VVT) exhaust Solenoid engine light has been coming on and turning off immediately for a few months, finally found the issue. $665 replacement.

Thermostat stuck open radiator broke. Told by 4 GM Dealerships, this is a very common problem in a GM 3.6L V6. GM even claims it's common in its Tech Advisements. The "Stuck Open" Glitch (P0128 Code)

P0128 code produced when scanned. Cooling fans on high. No ac. Steering Assist Warning. Had to replace the thermostat. ECM also replaced and caused the tire pressure sensors to fail and had to replace the tire sensors. There is a recall on models 2021 to 2025 but none on the 2020 for the thermostat. I have paid $3500.00 to have my vehicle fixed.

Car is overheating with multiple engine codes. Unable to drive. Car power is reduced and shortly after will start overheating.

My car will be running fine but the lights on the AC panel wont work. My car will stop and shut down while driving. Ive taken it in for service and they told me my battery cabels were lose. The second time it happened I got a notification of low battery level and it shut off and will not start. I just replace the battery 2 years ago. The service department tested my battery and said it was fine

The temperature gauge on my 2020 Chevrolet Blazer stopped working and remains stuck on “cold” at all times. At the same time, the air conditioning stopped functioning properly and only blows hot air. 2020 Chevy Blazer RS 3.6L V6: having intermittent issues with ‘check engine’ light activating and giving code P0128 - indicating “Coolant Thermostat (Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature)”. Symptoms include: - Temp gauge drops to reading “C” (cold), - AC blows warm/hot air, - Dash displays message, “Steering Assist is Reduced, Drive with Care”, - Radiator (electric) fans run full speed. It seems that the computer is interpreting the engine coolant temperature sensor drop as a ‘stuck open’ thermostat, thus the indicated code. However, at the same time it also appears to assume a bad coolant temp sensor, and failsafes to disable the AC and set the radiator fans to max to avoid potential overheating. The problem with this is that this can occur after driving for some period that the engine is suitably warm, then I can pull off the road, disconnect the battery for a few minutes, and everything goes back to normal operation. A broken thermostat would not behave this way. * This happened in Mar 2025 - after disconnecting the battery about 5-6 times over about a 1wk period the code cleared and we were able to pass inspection. The issue did not reoccur until about the same time this year. It has been recurring periodically since. * After reading numerous postings on this issue, with numerous different vehicles that have this engine and computer, I have no faith that the dealership will provide a solution other than charging me to replace the thermostat, and end

Just took my car to the Chevy dealership today and had them go over the car because I keep getting the message steering assist has been reduced and the fan is constantly running at the highest speed and it also makes it where I can not use the a/c or heat in the car! I don’t know the code off hand but it has something to do with the cam shaft and the thermostat for the antifreeze! From what Chevy told me today it is a $9000 job to tear down the left side of the engine because the camshaft carrier gasket is leaking oil! Which is probably why that code is popping up. Or from what I was told today it could be from the battery which I believe they were trying to shift blame. Either way this camshaft stuff really needs to be investigated!!

Driving down the road at 50 mpg when to car just shut off had a hard time getting it off the road and did still was all the way we almost got hit three times

Here is there diagnosis Comments: The P01F0 code on a 2020 Chevy Blazer means the engine coolant temperature is below the normal operating range, often due to a stuck-open thermostat (or both thermostats in models with dual units), a faulty Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, or low coolant, leading to poor fuel economy and potential wear; fixing it usually involves replacing the thermostat(s) or sensor after checking coolant levels and wiring. After that i took the vehicle to GM Dealership. Even though this is a know issue with many vehicles from same year, i was told that my VIN is not part of recall and dealership ended up charging me 600+ to fix the issue. I am reaching out to seek help as i had exact same problem but GM is not covering the repairs because my VIN is not in the recall. How is that possible?

"I was in extreme danger while traveling with my [XXX] child in the vehicle on the day prior to the total failure. During that trip, the transmission began to slip significantly in active traffic, creating a terrifying loss of motive power and a high risk of a rear-end collision. Because of this dangerous incident, I attempted to reach the dealership the following morning to prevent a crash. Upon arrival, the transmission suffered a total catastrophic failure in the dealership lot. Had this final failure occurred just 24 hours earlier while my child was in the vehicle on the highway, the situation could have been fatal.
