2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Defect. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, XT5, Escalade, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, Traverse, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, 2018-2021 Chevrolet Express, GMC Savana, 2019-2020 Chevrolet Blazer, Silverado 1500, GMC Acadia, Sierra 1500, and certain Continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.

Risk. Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 22, 2021. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Chevrolet Cruze and Buick LaCrosse, 2018-2020 Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain, 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, 2019-2020 Buick Encore, Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, Chevrolet Blazer and GMC Acadia, and 2020 Cadillac XT6 vehicles. The start/stop accumulator endcap may have missing bolts.

Risk. Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

Remedy. GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267, Buick Customer service at 1-866-608-8080, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N202313440.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was a strong odor coming from the vehicle, and no warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated that a "Shift to Park" warning message displayed while the vehicle was already in Park, requiring multiple shifting attempts to clear the message. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the radiator had failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The contact was informed that the radiator issue was a known failure that could recur. Additionally, an inspection revealed that the rear tow hook had failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. Regarding the shifter failure, the contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 22,000.

Just had to replace a radiator that was leaking all across the top. Also have gotten the steering assist warning for thermostat and temperature sensor. Seems to be cery common problems rhat gm ahould fix

Thermostat went bad at 47,500 miles. Temp gauge stopped working, Engine light came on and alert stating steering assist is reduced

I was driving into a parking lot when my back passenger side window imploded like a rock was thrown at it, but no rock and nobody in sight. I looked all around for a cause but believe it somehow spontaneous shattered. Thankfully 3 minutes prior I had dropped my kids at school otherwise there would have been injury I am sure.

Electronically controlled thermostat and sensor fail or get stuck at a much lower coolant temperature causing the dash to display the “steering assist is reduced drive with care.” It isn’t just a message, the steering is much harder to use potentially causing an accident. The ac completely doesn’t work causing potential for sensitive, elderly, or young children and pets to overheat inside, it’s significant risk of injury or death from the hot summer temperatures. The engine coolant temperature gauge is all the way down on C position which isn’t registering how hot/cold the engine gets potentially causing damage to the vehicle and a total loss of the vehicle entirely due to damage from the engine overheating. GM sent out letters to 2021 blazer owners which included a special coverage number N252508350 applying to people with this year having this problem and they have until 2036 or 150,009 mi to get the repairs made free of charge, they just bring the document with the special repair codes to the dealer and they fix it free of charge. After doing research online, this problem is affecting all years of the 2019+ blazers with the 3.6L V6 engine AND other known problems with other models and years of their other lineup of cars, it’s very widespread across their platforms. So what are people supposed to do when it isn’t the 2021 year? Pay an $800+ repair bill to GM when they KNOW it’s more widespread than just this year/make? This is a scam. Power steering goes out intermittently while driving.

The transmission or torque converter has slippage and shuddering that has caused one or both to go bad. My safety was at risk due to this item beginning to fail to cause the inability to accelerate to maintain my position in traffic. The problem was recreated for the service technician. There was no warning or indication before this became an issue.

My vehicle is breaking on its own. There are other vehicles riding behind me and it just stops out of nowhere. I think that's dangerous. I can be driving and I'm thinking I'm OK driving in a vehicle. Just just hit on break. I don't know where I just stops and while I'm driving and I think that's very dangerous

The vehicle will not shut off when you shift to park. You are forced to sit in the vehicle for extended periods of time attempting to get the vehicle turned off. Apparently Chevy is familiar with eat problem and there are pending class action law suits in Ohio. According to the dealership Chevy has acknowledged there is a defect but no recall has been issued. We have had this issue for about two months and it is getting worse.

Shift to Park issue: Known issue where the car fails to recognize it is in Park, preventing it from shutting off. Electronics: Potential blanked-out display screens, USB port issues, and malfunctioning cameras. Steering Assist: Restricted, temperature gauge goes to cold and radiator fan blows hard. I have to unplug negative cable to battery and reconnect and everything goes back to normal.

2019 Chevy Blazer. Car would not turn off the electrical components when parked. Put car in park and walked away and there is a warning note that says, "Shift to Park." But the car was in park. Called Chevy and they know about the issue on the 2019-2023 vehicles. They sent me the Technical Service Bulletin. Back in 2020, the car had the shifting harness and button replaced and we just had to have it replaced again because it is a consistent issue with the vehicle. Except this time, the dealer charged us $668.40 to fix it! It is a known issue by the company and THEY sent me the service bulletin to get it fixed. It should have been covered by Chevy, or, at least a recall should be instituted. The power to the car wouldn't shut off. We were able to jump the car to get it started again.

I believe my thermostat is a problem. I keep getting "P012B" "coolant under operating temperature" codes on my obd2 meter. This seems to coincide with "driver assist reduced" on my instrument cluster on my dash board. I researched it and on a forum it sounds to be a very common problem. Someone said to report it on here. I can clear the "p012b" error code with my obd2 and my thermostat instantly becomes responsive however it comes back within 2 days or so.

Faulty thermostat. Check engine light comes on due to thermostat getting stuck open and needing to be replaced. This is terrible for the engine and the environment.

P0128 code. Coolant temperature sensor and thermostat failure.

Thermostat Housing Replacement + Dexcool: P0128, thermostat stuck. Was told this can cause engine to overheat.

The shift-to-park sensor in my 2019 Chevy Blazer RS is malfunctioning. After shifting into park, the vehicle does not detect that it is in park and displays a “Shift to Park” message. The issue is/has been ongoing and now it is almost impossible to bypass with wiggling the shifter. Safety Risk: The vehicle cannot be fully shut off or locked, increasing the risk of battery drain or unintended movement. This poses a safety risk if the vehicle is left in public or on an incline. Inspection History: The vehicle was taken in to the dealership in November/December 2025 due to MULTIPLE Warning Lights: “Shift to Park”, "Steering Assist", "Stabilink" and the usb-C charging port under the radio screen will stop working all together when this happens as well. This started around September 2025 and has occurred regularly since.

The thermostat has been sticking, and needs to be replaced after only 30,000 miles.

Was getting a steering assist reduced error code. Auto stop quit functioning and air conditioning stopped cooling. Engine sounded like a jet. P 0128 thermostat error code came up and had to be replaced. I see lots of similar complaints. Cost me $700.
