Prevost Cars, Inc.: Fuel System, Diesel › Storage › Tank Assembly
Prevost Cars, Inc. reported this defect to federal regulators on Oct 4, 2017 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 3,163. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
Prevost Cars, Inc. (Prevost) is recalling certain 2008-2018 H3-41, H3-45, H3-45 VIP, X3-45, X3-45 VIP, X3-45 VIP Entertainer, and XL2 motor coaches. The fuel tank cradle supports may have gaps at the points where the cradle connects to the coach frame, which can allow the attachment bolts to loosen and fail causing the fuel tank to fall from the vehicle.
The risk
If the fuel tank separates from the vehicle, it could be a road hazard and the vehicle would stall. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will correct the fuel tank cradle mounting, free of charge. The recall began on December 4, 2017. Owners may contact Prevost customer service at 1-866-870-2046. Prevost's number for this recall is SR17-28.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 17V618000.
