I had to call the fire department because my the auxiliary battery in my Jeep had overheated creating a sulfur-like smell in my garage and eventually into my home. The fire dept recorded the aux battery temp over 200 degrees and the main battery was almost 150 degrees after sitting idle in the garage for over 5 hours and had only drove twice that day for no more than 20 minutes each time. I purchased the vehicle in May of 2023, I believe in Oct of 2023 the dealership had to replace the aux battery, now Aug of 2026 the aux battery failed again overheating and causing the main battery to swell and fail. The dealership was horrible about diagnosing the issue with no real answer and telling me that there is a software update in the works however; I have a friend in the business (works for Stellantis) who tells me that the automaker IS AWARE of these failing aux batteries due to them not shutting off. This known issue puts families at risk of fire and explosion. I do not feel anyone is taking this seriously. The dealership forced me to buy two new batteries, gave no reason why, and basically sent me on my way. I would like to know that someone is going to call on the automaker for a fix so that both my family and others, will not have to worry about having a dangerous vehicle parked in their garage.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, VIN [XXX], has had repeated electrical, battery, power-loss, recall, and passenger-seat safety concerns. The vehicle was serviced for ongoing battery/electrical issues and remained at South Hills Dodge for approximately one month. During that time, I was told no loaner vehicles were available, leaving me without transportation. When the vehicle was returned on XXX, the front passenger seat was no longer operable, although it worked properly before service. I returned the vehicle the same day and was told the part would be ordered. I asked if the vehicle was safe to drive because the passenger seat was making unusual noises and sounded like it could fail further. I was told it was safe to drive. On XXX, the vehicle was towed back to South Hills Dodge because it was losing power. I contacted the parts department to check on the passenger-seat part and was told no order was in the system. I was later told the part was only then being ordered, although I had previously been told it would be ordered after the XXX visit. On XXX, I received a voicemail stating the vehicle was ready for pickup and that the power-loss issue had been addressed. However, the passenger-seat issue was still not repaired, and I was told the vehicle would need to be returned once the part arrived. The vehicle was later returned on or about XXX, with the understanding that the passenger-seat issue had been repaired. Several weeks later, a passenger noticed the seat had not actual

Filed Aug 25, 2026OH

While starting to turn through an intersection after a red light the vehicle stalled in the center of said intersection. After turning the vehicle fully off and restarting the dash lights for a steering malfunction illuminated. The vehicle was difficult to steer but was drivable. After several on of cycles the steering was easier. We made an appointment and took it to the dealer. The dealer found the steering rack to have an "internal" fault and was unsafe to drive. The vehicle died in the center of a busy intersection. We could have been hit because the turn lest arrow ended and oncoming cars had the green light. We got the vehicle back about 9 weeks later. The steering rack had been replaced but the dealer had found corroded and charred wires to the fuel pump which also had to be repaired. The next evening with the adaptive cruise/Lane guidance set the steering system became erratic and the vehicle started trying to turn into oncoming traffic. I turned the cruise off and continued to drive about 1 mile where I was stopped at a red light. The green left turn arrow illuminated so I started through the intersection and the vehicle died in the oncoming lane. I had to turn the vehicle totally off and restart it in order to proceed. Once moving there were 2 steering system warning lights illuminated on the dash. I cautiously returned home then made an appointment to return the vehicle to the dealer. The warning lights went out but the dealer found multiple codes in the ECU. They

My 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has experienced repeated safety-related defects involving the body, electrical, and powertrain systems despite 6 warranty repair visits. The vehicle has been out of service 72 cumulative days, and the current repair still ongoing. Before the most serious incident, the vehicle had already been returned to authorized Jeep dealerships multiple times for liftgate malfunctions. The liftgate repeatedly failed to open, failed to close properly, and exhibited intermittent malfunctions. These defects were repeatedly reproduced and confirmed by the dealer, and Wagoneer engineering was consulted to diagnose and repair the vehicle. The defects have not been permanently corrected. While driving on a multi-lane roadway with my children seated in the 3rd row, the rear liftgate suddenly opened without any warning light/message/alert/beep. This was the 1st time it had opened while driving. Personal belongings were ejected across 3 lanes of traffic, creating a risk of striking other vehicles or causing another driver to swerve or crash. My husband had to enter multiple lanes of traffic to retrieve our belongings before they were struck, creating an additional safety hazard, leaving us sitting in traffic in the vehicle. To my knowledge, the vehicle should not have permitted normal operation if the liftgate was not securely latched. Instead, the liftgate opened while the vehicle was in motion without any indication to the driver, eliminating any opportunity to react o

While driving on the interstate, attempted to move the driver’s side sun visor to block sunlight from coming in driver’s side window. The sun visor became dislodged from the ceiling and was dangling by the wires that go to the lighted mirror. Was unsuccessful at simply restoring it to its correct position. Had to hold the sun visor by hand until I could pull off the road. After searching this problem online, I found that this is a common failure because of a known, and for some reason not recalled yet, defect in the design of the sun visor pivot point. In my opinion this is a serious safety issue and should be recalled to get this problem for all of these cars resolved.

I was at a stoplight, waiting to making a U-turn. The light turned green release the brake and went to hit the gas. The entire vehicle shut off. I lost all power and had to restart the vehicle in the middle of the intersection with vehicles behind me. It took at least 30 seconds and I ended up having to wait a cycle on the light because I couldn’t go at the time. Once I got the car back on, I lost power steering and my check engine light came on. I was able to make it to parking lot. Once I got there, I parked in the parking space the vehicle did the automatic shut off to conserve energy once I parked I press the button to shut that feature off when I did it the vehicle shut off again. I lost power to everything and had to restart the engine. This has happened multiple times as I believe it’s related to the electrical system and the automatic shut off. I’ve also had multiple other issues with the vehicle in the electrical system. The most recent being that pulling out of a parking lot onto the highway my vehicle would not shift gears, and I had to pull over to the side of the road as I could not get out of first gear. It ended up being the electrical components of the transmission. At the time of the incident listed above, I had just picked up the vehicle from having this issue replaced and had it for less than six hours when this other issue happened. We bought this vehicle used with roughly 58,000 on March 17, 2026, I’ve owned it for just over two months and in those two mo

My safety and the safety of others was at risk due to chance of a significant car crash due to faulty break system. I had a near miss accident due to this reason. I will be calling the car dealership to tow the car to have it inspected. The ABS light came on as well as check engine light. Service power steering light also came on.

I am writing to formally document a serious and extremely concerning safety incident that occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at approximately 12:06 PM while driving my 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, which currently has approximately 58,000 miles. While driving, multiple critical warning lights and system failure messages appeared simultaneously. I have attached photos documenting the warnings that occurred during the incident. Service Power Steering • ABS warning • Red steering wheel with exclamation mark • Check Engine Light • Collision / Auto Emergency Braking warning • Traction Control / Electronic Stability Control Warning • Forward Collision Warning / Automatic Emergency Braking Disabled During this event, the vehicle behavior became unpredictable and unsafe. Considering the failure of multiple safety systems at once, this created a situation that could have easily resulted in a serious accident. I am extremely shaken by the experience and thankful that my four children were not in the vehicle with me at the time. Unfortunately, this incident is part of a long list of issues I have experienced with this vehicle since purchasing it. These include: Persistent check engine light issues • Replacement of all third-row seatbelts due to defects • Oil valve replacement (Code P06D – Oil Pump Control Stuck High) • Multiple software updates • The vehicle shifting itself into park when coming to a stop, with the gear dial locking and requiring the vehicle to be fully shut off and restarted b

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2023 Jeep Wagoneer, which I have owned for approximately 1.5 years. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced repeated and ongoing mechanical failures, primarily involving the fuel injection system and chronic battery drainage. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership for fuel‑related issues more than five times. During these visits, the fuel pump was replaced, but the problems continued. The vehicle repeatedly triggered check‑engine lights related to the fuel system. At one point, the dealership bypassed or cleared the check‑engine indicator without resolving the underlying problem. After this, the vehicle began performing noticeably differently, including a significant drop in fuel efficiency—going from approximately 18 MPG to around 14 MPG. In addition to the fuel system defects, the vehicle has had persistent battery issues. The battery drains unexpectedly and frequently dies without warning. Even after replacing the battery, the new battery lasted only about three months before the same drainage problems began again. The vehicle will randomly shut down or stop functioning correctly until another battery replacement is performed. These issues raise serious concerns about the safety, reliability, and overall drivability of the vehicle. The repeated failures of both the fuel system and electrical/battery system pose potential safety hazards while driving and have made the vehicle unreliable for normal use. I am requesting t

Assessment of Ongoing Mechanical & Safety Issues – 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer To Whom It May Concern, I am providing a clear, factual assessment of the ongoing issues with my 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, which I purchased for $108,000 and have owned for less than two years. During this time, I have experienced twelve separate mechanical and functional failures, several of which have rendered the vehicle undriveable for prolonged periods. Below is a summary of the major issues that continue to impact the reliability, safety, and usability of this vehicle. 1. Seat / Massage Mechanism Defect (Ongoing for Months) A malfunction in the seat massage system has created a large, hard protrusion in the driver’s seat. This defect has resulted in significant back pain, requiring both urgent care and follow-up medical evaluation. I have now been diagnosed with sciatica, which my physician has indicated is likely related to prolonged pressure and improper spinal support caused by the seat malfunction. Two dealerships have confirmed the issue and ordered the replacement part months ago, yet the part delivery has been repeatedly delayed, most recently to January 6, 2026. This has affected my ability to safely and comfortably operate the vehicle, and has now escalated into a documented medical issue. 2. Suspension Noise During Auto-Leveling The vehicle’s air suspension system produces extremely loud noises during auto-adjustments. This raises concerns regarding the safety and structural integrity

Filed Oct 21, 2025NC

On October 20, 2025, at approximately 2:00 PM, while driving on the highway to pick up my children from school, the driver-side back cushion (airbag/cushion system) in my seat unexpectedly deployed or inflated with significant force, striking my back. The impact was strong enough to leave a visible mark, which I have documented with photographs. As a result, I experienced immediate back pain and was at serious risk of losing control of the vehicle due to the sudden and forceful nature of the incident. I immediately contacted my doctor’s office following the incident. My physician confirmed that the injury was consistent with trauma caused by the seat mechanism. I then contacted the dealership where I purchased the vehicle. I was instructed to drop off the vehicle and leave the keys in an envelope. On the morning of October 21, 2025, I received a text message from the dealership indicating an initial estimate of $117.65. I called the dealership to request a written report of their findings and to inquire whether there were any recalls or service bulletins related to this issue. I was informed that no recalls or service bulletins existed and that I would be required to pay for further evaluation. The dealership declined to take responsibility for the issue and also stated they could not provide a written report. As of this date, the vehicle remains at the dealership with no resolution, updates, or further communication provided. This is a serious safety concern that requires im

AEB system engaged emergency braking for no apparent reason when traveling at >35mph on a busy road with the flow of traffic. My face actually hit the steering wheel and a car traveling behind me barely stopped in time to avoid rear ending me. The AEB system has repeatedly displayed warning lights in the dash previously. For each occurrence, the vehicle was serviced at the dealership and reassurances were provided each time that the underlying issue was remedied with reprogramming and/or replacement of electrical control modules, however the recurrent nature of the issue (and many other issues surrounding the electrical system in my Grand Wagoneer) doesn't instill confidence in the "fix" they're providing. At this point in time, I don't feel safe driving my Grand Wagoneer, as I don't know when the vehicle will involuntarily slam on the brakes in traffic and cause an accident.

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.

Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
