2019 Honda Ridgeline

Defect. American Honda Motor Company (Honda) is recalling certain 2016-2022 Honda Pilot, 2017-2023 Ridgeline, 2019-2023 Passport, and 2014-2020 Acura MDX vehicles that were sold in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. The rear subframe may corrode at the suspension mounting points, which can result in rear suspension component failure.

Risk. Failure of rear suspension components, such as the rear control arm, can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the rear subframe and install a rear subframe reinforcement kit and, as necessary, repair or replace the rear subframe components, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed July 27, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in the fall of 2026. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Risk. Air bags that deploy unintentionally during a crash increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 and 2018-2019 Pilot, 2017 and 2019 Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 Odyssey vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, the connecting rod bearing in the engine may wear and seize, damaging the engine.

Risk. A damaged engine may run improperly or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a fire, crash, or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the engine as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed March 28, 2024. 2016-2017 Acura MDX owner letters were mailed November 1, 2024. 2016-2020 Acura MDX owner letters are expected to be mailed in mid-December 2024. Honda began mailing owner notification letters as of March 18, 2024. 2015-2016 Acura owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-December 2024, 2018 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed the end of March/early April 2024, 2019 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-May 2024, 2020 Acura TLX owner letters are expected to be mailed mid-June 2024, and 2016-2020 Acura MDX owner letters are expected to be mailed January 27, 2025. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Ridgeline vehicles. Opening and closing the tailgate may break the rearview camera wiring harness, causing the rearview camera to fail.

Risk. An inoperative rearview camera can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the rearview camera wiring harness, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 31, 2023. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is 6RW.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Passport, 2016-2019 Pilot, and 2017-2020 Ridgeline vehicles. The hood latch striker may become damaged and separate from the hood, which can result in the hood opening while driving.

Risk. A hood that opens while driving can obstruct the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will either repair the hood latch striker, or replace the hood if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 18, 2022. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is PBV.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Acura MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX, TLX, Honda Accord, Civic Hatchback, Insight, 2019 Acura ILX, Honda Accord Hybrid, Civic Coupe, Civic Coupe Si, Civic Sedan, Civic Sedan Si, Civic Type R, Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 CR-V vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 18, 2021. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 20V-314.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling all Honda Genuine Accessory Tonneau Covers, part number 08Z07-T6Z-100F, sold for installation on 2017-2020 Ridgeline trucks. If the tonneau cover is not properly secured in the open or closed position, wind resistance may cause the cover to flip and buckle. If this occurs, the hinges between the center and rear panel may deform, possibly allowing the rear panel to separate from the vehicle.

Risk. A separated panel may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash or injury.

Remedy. Honda will notify all registered owners of 2017-2020 Honda Ridgelines, and dealers will install tethers onto any Honda Genuine Accessory Tonneau Cover to prevent panel separation and apply warning labels, free of charge. In addition, an updated accessory user's information manual will be provided. The recall began October 26, 2020. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Acura MDX and Honda Pilot vehicles and 2019 Acura RLX, RLX Sport Hybrid, TLX and Honda Odyssey and Ridgeline vehicles. The timing belt teeth may separate from the belt.

Risk. Teeth separation from the timing belt may result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the vehicle and replace any affected timing belt free of charge. Vehicles receiving a replacement timing belt will also have the engine inspected and any damaged components will be replaced for free. The recall began June 7, 2019. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2017-2019 Ridgeline trucks. Exposure to acids, such as from car wash soaps, can result in the fuel pump feed port cracking.

Risk. A crack in the fuel pump feed port can allow pressurized fuel to leak out, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, if necessary, and install a fuel pump cover, free of charge. The recall began March 14, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. The recall number for this recall is Q3V.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Honda Ridgeline and Pilot vehicles. The mounting holes for the clip that secures the right center pillar trim panel may be larger than intended. In the event of a crash necessitating right side curtain air bag deployment, the clip may not hold the center pillar trim panel in position and it may potentially interfere with the curtain air bag deployment. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 214, "Side Impact Protection," and 226, "Ejection Mitigation."

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the curtain air bag does not deploy as intended, it can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a bracket on the right center pillar that will securely hold the center pillar trim clip, free of charge. The recall began January 22, 2019. Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 Honda Insight, Odyssey, and Ridgeline vehicles. The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) control unit may have a manufacturing error, possibly resulting in the air bags or seatbelt pretensioners not deploying in the event of a crash.

Risk. In the event of a crash, if the air bags or seatbelt pretensioners do not function as intended, there would be an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the SRS unit, free of charge. The recall began November 8, 2018. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are B2R, C2P, and Z2Q.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V365000 (Structure, Suspension). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the parts for the recall repair was on back order after the mechanic disassembled parts of the vehicle. The dealer declined to provide a loaner vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided.

While sitting in traffic on a 6 lane major thoroughfare the engine stopped running and would not restart. I had to exit the truck and cross multiple lanes of heavy traffic to get to a safe location. There was a slight engine knocking/tapping noise prior to the engine failure but no warning lights or messages of any kind alerting me to any sort of problem. I immediately had the truck towed to Price Honda in Dover, Delaware where I have been servicing it for the past 4 or 5 years. It is currently still there, and available for inspection, as I wait for some sort of resolution from American Honda. The dealership didn’t actually diagnose what caused the failure other than stating that there were metal shavings in the oil and oil filter. They only gave me a quote to replace the engine with a used engine for $8,225.53. There is currently a an NHTSA recall on some of these 2019 Ridgelines for failure of connecting rod bearings which I believe, and the Price Honda Technician who looked at my truck concluded was quite possible, is the reason for my engine failure. That NHTSA ID for that recall is 23V751000 Engine Damage From Connecting Rod Bearing Failure.

Multiple cylinder misfires P0306. There is a active TSB for My year and model and Honda denied my vin

Oil light flash and I receive a alarm from emssion system problem. I stop to check the oil quantity and it was OK. I was near home and to motor just stop and can not start the motor the crank is seize. My NIV is not on Honda recall for the engine problem about the connecting rod bearings so Honda don't won't to covert anytime for my problem. A lot of people seen to have the same problem.

On [XXX], at [XXX] am MDT, the closed sunroof on our 2019 Honda Ridgeline RTL exploded, without warning, while we were driving northbound on [XXX] north of [XXX]. At the time of the sunroof exploding, there were no cars close to us, in front or behind, and no overpass overhead. The glass projectiles of the sunroof, at high velocity, entered the cabin, struck and cut the back of my wife's left hand. My wife and I were covered in shards of glass. I could see a cloud of glass shards fall to the surface of the freeway in my rearview mirror at the time of the explosion. The vehicle is currently being serviced and estimated for damages at Ralph Schomp Honda in Highlands Ranch, CO. NHTSA Recall Campaign Number Associated: 22V430000 (Honda Codes AOU/AOT) My 2019 Honda Ridgeline is registered in Maine (a designated salt-belt state) and has a completely rusted-through rear subframe. The local authorized Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and officially grounded it, stating it is fundamentally unsafe to drive and cannot pass Maine State Inspection due to structural failure at the suspension mounting points. Despite the clear language of Recall 22V430000 requiring Honda to "repair or replace affected components free of charge" if they fail inspection, American Honda Corporate has officially denied coverage. Corporate customer service stated they are not responsible for corrosion caused by winter road materials. This directly contradicts the purpose of this federal recall, which was issued because improper factory paint adhesion left the subframe vulnerable to road salt. Honda is actively violating federal law by refusing to provide the mandated remedy for a structurally failed, unsafe vehicle. American Honda Case Number: 1656861

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. While the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle hesitated and failed to accelerate as intended. The check engine and emissions warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with fuel injector failures. The contact was informed that fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced another time. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not associated with a recall related to the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

I have an engine failure at 99k miles. The car is in pristine condition inside out. Oil changes are done every 5k miles. Without any warning, check engine light or any indication from the car's computer, the engine just failed while driving. It sounded like there was something grinding inside the engine. The truck was towed to Honda dealer and they said I need a new engine replacement. They found metal shavings in the engine oil. The invoice indicates "Found more has bad rod knock recommend replace engine assembly"

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while reversing out of a parking spot, the vehicle stalled. No warning light was illuminated. The contact pushed the vehicle into the parking spot. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) and NHTSA Action Number: PE25008 (Engine). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the rod fractured, causing the engine to seize. The dealer suggested an engine replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, filed a case, and advised the contact that he might be contacted within a week. The failure mileage was approximately 84,300.

My wife and I had decided to empty our storage unit, so on Memorial Day we began moving everything into the garage. After five or six trips Honda, I pulled the car up beside the RV and close to the house for what turned out to be the last load. I unloaded my bicycle and nearly everything else, leaving only a few small items, and then removed the massage table from the back seat. The engine was off this entire time. That was when I noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. At first, I thought the radiator had overheated, so I tried to open the hood, but it was too hot. I went into the garage for gloves and a fire extinguisher and tried again, but still could not get it open. Realizing the situation was getting worse and that I could not stop it there, I jumped into the car and tried to start it. To my surprise, it started immediately, and I drove it as fast as I could out to the street in front of the house. Only later did I realize that this likely saved my RV—and possibly the front of my house as well—from catching fire. We were so blessed that I was able to move the car to a safer location and no one was hurt. It was a miracle.

While operating my 2019 Honda Ridgeline at normal driving speed, the vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic engine failure without warning. Immediately prior to failure, a loud metallic knocking/hammering noise developed from the engine area. Within seconds, the engine lost power and shut off completely while the vehicle was in motion. After the shutdown, the vehicle would not restart. Attempts to start the engine resulted in minimal or no crank, even when using a jump start. The vehicle had to be towed. A subsequent inspection determined that the engine had no compression, indicating severe internal mechanical failure. The failure occurred abruptly and without any prior warning lights, temperature issues, or drivability concerns. This failure created a significant safety hazard, as the vehicle lost all power while driving, which could have resulted in a loss of control or increased risk of collision, especially in higher-speed or traffic conditions.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the rear-view camera was inoperable, and a black screen or a flashing screen was displayed. A diagnostic test revealed codes for the catalytic converter efficiency below threshold Bank 2, and Bank 2 air-fuel ratio imbalance. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, and the dealer referenced NHTSA ID Number: 10187289 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

The contact's boyfriend owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while her boyfriend was driving at highway speeds, there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the vehicle. The vehicle entered LIMP Mode with the check engine and emissions warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was pulled off to the shoulder of the highway and was later towed to the dealer. Upon inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic discovered that an engine rod had gone through the engine block, resulting in engine failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls or warranties on the vehicle. A case was filed with the dealer for financial assistance, but the case was denied. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.

I own a 2019 Honda Ridgeline rtl. I presently have 66000 miles and am having issues with my engine emmision system, the number 2 sensor keeps going off and on and fuel rpm at 1.5 make my truck sputter until it gets pass 2 rpms. The lights going off and on! And the media system goes from music to GPS and volume goes up and down spontaneously! Honda in Calhallen Texas say no recalls on it! Not sure what is going on i just don't want it to leave me in the road! I take care of my vehicles with the miles it has it shouldn't be having these many mechanical problems. Hope you can help or advise!

On 1/5/2026 while pulling unto a major intersection, my 2019 Honda Ridgeline with 64,000 miles suddenly jolted, lost engine power, and every dash light came on indicating that all electronics were inoperable. Fortunately there was no fast moving on coming traffic. After examination in mechanics shop, it was found that the camshaft was bad. attached is the $3,900.00 invoice. Attached also is a picture of the sensor showing that the camshaft was moving and hitting the sensor which caused the truck to go into safe mode. According to your own investigation and speaking to the Honda service department, this obvious is a factory defect that Honda needs to address. The cam obviously is not strong enough. There are 4.3 million complaints. I want to be reimbursed or will never, ever buy a Honda product. This is a safety issue as well as a consumer protection issue.

The engine light came on and cam shaft caused the rod bearing to fail. I see there is a recall 23v751. But my vehicle vin. Is not on it 2019 honda ridgeline

This is my second Honda ridgeline. The first was a 2014 model. This 2019 ridgeline has a distinctive metal knocking noise in the engine when running. The noise gets quite loud the colder the initial startup and under initial load. It gets quieter after running on the highway for a distance. I took it to the dealer several years ago but the noise was hard to hear after running the interstate for 20 miles. The mechanic told me there was "nothing wrong". I think there is. I know what this engine is supposed to sound like. This VIN number should have been in the 2023 Ridgeline engine recall.

The Transmission error continues to flash on the dash. It has now happened on four (4) occasions. Transmission was flushed and still occurs. Diagnostic Error Code P0741 stored. Torque Converter issue. Honda has extended the warranty for most of these vehicles, mine is not showing in the extension. However, it appears to meet all the specifications that it should be covered. Have it at the dealership which confirms all above. They claim Honda Corporate has to decide to extend the warranty. Talked to Honda Corporate today and they said the NHTSA has to extend the warranty, they do not decide.

My engine started knocking from the connecting rod bearings and my vehicle is now not usable. The active recall on 2017 and 2019 Ridgelines is not covering my VIN and I have read many others are having the same issue. This issue if left untreated could cause my vehicle to die resulting in a loss of power. The manufacturer is refusing to repair the issue.

(This incident report is for my replacement transmission, I have already submitted an incident report for my original transmission which also failed in the exact same manner.) 1. My replacement transmission started bucking and clanging and down shifted extremely hard while I was driving in traffic, I lost all power and the vehicle would not accelerate but the RPM's kept rising. 2. My safety was at risk because I lost power while in traffic and my vehicle became disabled on the road and I required the assistance of good Samaritans to help move my car off the road way, causing their safety to be at risk too. 3. My vehicle has been inspected by Honda. Their recommendation was to replace the original transmission, so I did, and the second transmission (the subject of this incident report) also failed, in the same manner. 4. The vehicle monitoring system did not give any prior warning that something was wrong till after the vehicle bucked, down shifted and lost power, only then did the car warnings go off and say "Transmission system" and then "emissions system"

While driving to work, engine started knocking, engine and battery light came on, then engine shut off....all of this in a matter of seconds. I coasted to a stop and had truck trailered to my dealer.

I was driving to work, engine starting knocking, check engine and battery light came on, and truck shut down. I coasted to a stop and had truck trailered 110mi. to dealer.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact stated that recently the vehicle stalled and was difficult to restart. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 21-010 related to the fuel injectors; however, his vehicle was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

Truck started clacking going down the freeway after religiously maintaining it for the last 5 years. Took it into the dealer at 153,000 miles and was told my engine needs replacing due to rod bearing knock. A little premature on a Honda that has been religiously maintained! Called Honda customer service and was told my vin is not included in the rod bearing safety recall for my exact vehicle, year, make, and model!

The vehicle lurches forward when accelerating. You start off from a stand still, as you are accelerating the vehicle slows, then speeds up, then slows then speeds up. this happens multiple time. You can watch the tachometer, it goes up then down, then up then down. It can happen 10, 20 times while accelerating.

Failed camshaft thrust bearing per Honda. This same part on other 2019 Ridgeline models was subject of Recall number 23V-751. While this failure is not covered by that recall it is very difficult to believe this part wasn't defective as well. The fix is very expensive ($4500) and I can't be the only 2019 Ridgeline owner in this situation.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle briefly lost motive power before slamming into gear. The contact was unsure if any warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while the vehicle was parked inside the garage, the horn and panic alarm activated independently, and the headlights started flashing. The contact disconnected the battery to stop the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. An unknown software update was performed on the vehicle. I just purchased a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. When driving I noticed the hood vibrating or shaking. I checked to ensure it was closed all the way, and it was. When I did research, I found there is a safety recall for this exact issue, and the year, make and model of my truck falls into the affected years. However, when I look up my VIN, it does not comeback with the recall authorization. Please advise. The recall number is: 21V932

While driving with the cruise control set at 52mph, I was coming to a known left curve with a stop sign four way intersection that follows it (I drive this route at least 50% of the time whenever leaving my home). I hit the 'Cancel' button to stop the cruise control as I came to the curve, and there was no response. I hit the brakes and again there was no response. At that point I prepared for a wreck because I knew the curve was tight, followed by that intersection's stop sign, and I was almost upon the curve. Continuing to try to apply brakes and getting no response, I could not hold the curve of the road and left the roadway to the right side. I narrowly avoided a lightpole, and then I was finally at the ditch of the crossroad already mentioned. The truck struck the ditch embankment facing me and likely launched airborn at that point, going across the first lane of the crossroad. After about the width of that lane, it appears that's when the front suspension landed, gouging the asphalt and deploying the airbag on me at that point. This seems to be when the braking system finally responded as I started to slow down some, as it bounced and jerked across the remaining lanes, leaving skid marks on that part of the road. I steered it between two signs on the far side, still barely under control but it finally slowing down into the 20s or so, where I had control and brought it to a stop. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. A few weeks after I purchased a new 2019 Ridgeline I’ve noticed that brake pedal did not feel right. First what I noticed sometimes when I go to start the car the brake pedal is very hard, I have not experienced that with any other car. Then I noticed that when I’m on the light standing with the car running brake pedal sinks all the way to the bottom. Then I have to press the brake a few times for it to go back to normal hight. I took the car to a Honda Service on 6600 N Western in n Chicago back in 2019/2020 and they tested the car I’m not sure if they were able to reproduce same issues but they told me that the brake works fine. I got the car back, after I noticed when pressing brake there is a clicking sound coming from the brake pedal area not all the times sometimes, also noticed that sometimes it takes more pressure to apply to the brake in order for car to stop. At that time I looked online and I wasn’t able to find anybody reporting same issues. Now when I go online on Honda forums I see more people complaining about same or similar issues. I still own the car with only 38000 miles on it and still have same brake issues with it.

My 2019 Honda Ridgeline vehicle has less than 70,000 miles and we have always gotten our oil changed at the recommended times. The last time was about 2,000 miles ago at the Honda dealership. We also regularly check the oil. While driving down the interstate near where we live, the car engine suddenly stopped working and smoke came from the engine. Thankfully, we were in right lane and were able to coast it to the shoulder. We had the car towed to the nearest Honda dealership. For some reason which the Honda dealership won't disclose nor would corporate Honda, the piston in the engine blew two holes in the number 5 cylinder. This damage is consistent with the possible damage that a recent recall addressed. In that recall the piston bearings needed to be replaced. Although some 2019 Honda Ridgelines were included in that recall, our VIN number was not. There was also a recent investigation by the NHTSA into similar instances involving similar damages and vehicles not being included in the baring recall. Although we were not hurt, if the highway had been more crowded or the car not in the right lane, we could have been seriously hurt. Furthermore, the engine will cost $17,548 to replace. After requesting assistance from the Honda through their goodwill program, we were denied. The car has not yet been repaired. We would like to request further investigation into this and similar instances. Thank you.

Transmission hesitates during acceleration. Truck was purchase new and the problem began within 10k miles. Dealer suggested changing transmission oil every 30k miles but the problem would happen soon after every change. Transmission failed on highway with 99k miles. Dealer charged 10k to replace transmission with admitting they are seeing this issue on other 6 speed transmission.

Transmission jerks when shifting thru gears, car shudders and rpms jump when both upshifting and downshifting. Have had the transmission serviced several times by Honda dealer, fluids changed and updated with no change in performance.

The back up camera has goes to a black screen. The wires in the harness at the tailgate appear pinched/damaged. I am not able to see animals or children in the camera.

2019 Honda Ridgeline alarm started going off at random times. This is a safety concern because it causes drain on battery and could affect vehicles ability to operate . The part is the keyless entry unit located behind glove box. I had to go out to check the car in the middle of the night several times. This part has been reported and listed here under bulletin SB-21-055. Honda offered extended warranty and fixed some vehicles as reported by some Ridgeline owners. This random alarm was reported by 86 Ridgeline owners according to Ridgeline owners club. The repair cost me $957 including a $287 charge for labor- according to the NHSTA bulletin SB 21-055 labor should be .03 to .08 hours to repair - beware of over charge for labor. Courtesy Honda of Palm Harbor Fl. Offered $100 off when informed of the keyless entry unit history. I escalated to American Honda who offered nothing, not even goodwill discount. This is the keyless entry unit for bind Ridgeline and Pilots. There is a documented issue with this part (SB 21-055) it’s a safety concern considering the draw on battery power not to mention where you are when the alarm starts blaring. This part has a known history of being faulty, has been documented with NHSTA (SB 21-055) Ridgeline Owners Club has 86 different entries for that part alone and could effect lighting and driver assist functions considering the draw on battery power. The alarm goes off without warning or indication and happens randomly.

On 5/10/25, while driving 5 warning icons came flashing on after another. 1) emissions system problem 2)VSA systems 3) Hill assist problem 4)TSA 5)Power steering system problem . This 2019 Honda Ridgeline with 49272 miles ended stalling 3 xs in the middle of traffic!! Frank Brown Honda was called and not very helpful! I’m waiting to hear on expensive warranty what can be done. I don’t have towing so stranded at my house with the car. This was scary and upsetting!! Please help if you can

My check engine light started blinking, and the engine began to idle roughly. Took into dealership, and there was a connecting rod bearing failure on cylinder 1. Seems related to recall 23V-751.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a popping sound coming from the engine compartment while attempting to accelerate. Additionally, there was a burning odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle rod bearings failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

While driving in traffic, the transmission made a clunk and the vehicle would not continue to accelerate, instead the rpms kept rising, (zero change in speed) the vehicle never shifted up or down again after this. Had to keep the car driving at around 35 mph till I got to a safe location to park the car.

I am writing to advise you of Recall Notices I have received but have been unable to get addressed on my 2019 Honda Ridgeline. Over the last year I have received 3 Recall Notices and have not been unable to get them taken care of. Shown below are the actions I have taken relative to the Recall Notices. Perhaps you can assist me in this endeavor. February, 2024- Received Recall Notice (Copy Attached) March 5, 2024: Contacted Dealership (Don Moore Honda, Owensboro, Ky.) Was advised to call back the first week of April to see if the parts had come in to do the necessary mechanical work. May 13, 2024: Contacted Dealership- parts had not arrived yet. Advised to call back in the fall of the year. Parts may have arrived by that time. Late May, 2024- Received 2nd Recall Notice from Honda Automotive December, 2024- Received 3rd Recall Notice from Honda Automotive January 14, 2025- Contacted Dealership- was told parts still not on hand. Woman I spoke with said she would order the parts and advise when parts arrived. Today is March 12, over a year since I received my first Recall Notice. I have received two similar Recall Notices since then. And still no activity to address the possible problem. If the Recall is not necessary, then would someone please let me know, so I can disregard the Recall Notices. If the Recall Notice is important, then please advise what I can do to get the issue resolved.

Considering purchasing but, after checking VIN, there was no report of Camera harness or fuel pump recall being completed.

Already had to replace camera and shop billed me approximately 1000 and although have extended warranty it is not covered. Also, have had the transmission serviced by them and it still jumps and dealership said is standard for the truck to perform lot that when it cold. This has just recently started happening but say nothing they can do.

A failure with the "keyless entry/TPMS control unit" caused my alarm to go off randomly. Alarm would go off at random times, draining the battery & leaving the truck unable to be started. Also, while going off, the truck could not be used/controlled/started. Honda replaced the defective part, at my cost, without a manufacturer discount. This happened randomly from when the vehicle was about 2-3 years old, then reappeared at around 4-5 years. Honda knows about this problem and issues a TSB for it, TSB 21-055.

Emissions System Problem Alert message and Check Engine Light came on Jan 27th 2024. Vehicle Mileage at this point was 59,960. I took my 2019 2WD Ridgeline Sport in for service early Feb. 2024 to have the problem investigated. It was deemed as bad Fuel Injectors. Parts were not in stock and were ordered. The Check Engine Light and the Alert went away the very next day. Then there was a recall issued for the fuel pump around mid February 2024. Parts were not available so it was ordered. Fast forward to March (No Check Engine Light or Alerts) I did some research on fuel pump issues and found that it could cause the Check Engine light to come on and the Emissions System alert. March 22nd I took it in for the fuel pump replacement, upon arrival they stated that the fuel injectors were in and they would replace those as well. I declined them being replaced based upon my fuel pump research. Fuel pump replaced only. Between March 22nd 2024 and Oct 2 2024 (No Check Engine Lights or Emissions System Alerts) Oct 3rd both the Alert and Check Engine light came on and then went off the very next day. January 7 2025 the alert and check engine light returned and stayed on for about 10 days and then went off. Service scheduled for January 24th 2025. Fuel Injector were changed for $1148.00 as of now no further issues Vehicle Mileage 70,405. The complaint is that this is a known fuel injector problem and I don't believe that Honda did a very good job of containing the fuel injectors that were

I had to replace a bank of injectors and I only had about 75000 miles on vehicle. this is a defect they should not fail so early. They are TSB and recalls on my model just not my VIN
