Filed Jun 4, 202187,649 vehiclesJayco, Inc.

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Jayco Designer, 2017-2021 Eagle HT, Eagle, Jay Feather, Jay Flight SLX, Jay Flight, North Point, Octane Superlite, Pinnacle, White Hawk, 2017-2020 Eagle HT, 2018-2021 Jay Flight Bungalow, 2017-2019 Octane, and 2019-2020 Eagle HTX travel trailers and fifth wheels equipped with a Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator. The regulator may fail, causing an increase in propane pressure.

Risk. Increased propane pressure can enlarge the flames in gas appliances, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the regulator and test the propane system for leaks, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 3, 2021. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Jayco White Hawk, Jay Flight SLX, Jay Feather, and Jay Flight travel trailers equipped with Dometic 3 burner cooking stoves. The saddle valve securing bolt may be overtightened, possibly damaging the o-ring seal and causing a continuous gas leak.

Risk. A gas leak can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Jayco will notify owners, and Dometic service centers will install a remedy kit of gaskets, washers, thread locker bolts, and two round orange labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 3, 2021. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901566.

Filed Apr 30, 201986 vehiclesJayco, Inc.

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019 Jay Flight TF travel trailers, model 32RLOK. The supports for the fresh water tank may be too thin, resulting in the brackets breaking and the tanks detaching from the trailer.

Risk. A detached water tank would be a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.

Remedy. Jayco has notified owners, and dealers will install a threaded rod in the center of the water tank support apparatus to provide additional support, free of charge. The recall began May 9, 2019. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901433.

Exterior Lighting › Brake Lights18V686000
Filed Oct 2, 2018176 vehiclesJayco, Inc.

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019 Jayco Jay Flight travel trailers. The turn signal and brake lights were wired incorrectly causing the lights to work intermittently, preventing other drivers from knowing the intentions of the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. If the rear turn signals and brake lights do not operate as intended, other drivers will not be properly notified of stopping or turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Jayco has notified owners, and dealers will correctly wire the rear turn signals and brake lights to the 7-way trailer cord, free of charge. The recall began October 15, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901408.

Suspension › Rear › Axle › Non-powered Axle Assembly18V618000
Filed Sep 12, 2018416 vehiclesJayco, Inc.

Defect. Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2019 Jayco White Hawk, Jay Flight, and Jay Flight SLX travel trailers. The axles may be missing inner bearing races on the hubs, which can cause the bearing to burnout or cause the hub to overheat.

Risk. The missing bearing race may cause premature hub bearing failure, possibly resulting in a separation of the hub from the axle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective hubs with new hubs or replace the axles, free of charge. The recall began October 18, 2018. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901410.

Our RV experienced frame failure twice. It was repaired by the rv facility the first time as it was under warranty. 2nd time it was not. This is a widespread and ongoing issue on Lippert frames and needs to be on a recall. The danger of a 45ft 5th wheel frame breaking on a major freeway could be catastrophic.

On May 24, 2021 we received a notification from Dometic Corporation in reference to a problem with the stove in our Rv. There is a gas leak in the stove and a remedy kit needs to be attained. The customer has to do pretty much all of the leg work. The stove has to be taken apart to attain the Model and Serial numbers to see if they match from list given. A picture of the information needs to be emailed along with a form to attained a remedy kit. Info has to be received from the dealer where the work is to be performed and listed on the form .Propane gas can not be used in the rv for other components, such as the refrigerator, water heater and furnace. One of the forms received was dated November 13, 2020. According to Dometic, this is when the problem arose, so we were not notified until 6 and a half months later. In the meantime, we were using our camper. When asked what compensation will be provide to the customer and the response was "none." When I stated that the customer is doing all the legwork, the response from Dometic was: No, all you have to do is bring it there. This situation has been handled very poorly. It took Dometic 6 and a half months to notify customers because they did not have the parts in stock to fix the issue. Too long !!! And now, according to Dometic, it will be a month beofre the remedy kit is sent to the dealer. Again...too long !!!

I BOUGHT A 2019 JAYCO JAYFLIGHT, TRAVEL TRAILER, MODEL 29BHDB. MY SLIDE OUT HAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT IS ALSO A SAFETY AND A LEGAL ISSUE AS WELL; BECAUSE THE HOLE TO INSERT A CRANK TO MANUALLY OPERATE THE SLIDE SHOULD IT FAIL IS BLOCKED BY THE TANK, SO IF THE SLIDE SHOULD FAIL THERE IS NO WAY TO MANUALLY RETRACT IT, WHICH MEANS THAT I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY SLIDE EXTENDED IF THAT SHOULD HAPPEN, THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A LEGAL ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS AN OFFENSE TO DRIVE WITH YOUR SLIDE EXTENDED, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE TO A REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THAT FIXED IF I CANNOT RETRACT THE SLIDE MANUALLY. THAT IS WOULD BE VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE DRIVING WITH AN EXTENDED SLIDE OUT AFFECTS THE AERODYNAMICS OF YOUR VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. IN 2020 JAYCO DECIDED TO DISCONTINUE THIS MODEL BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECT AND OTHER ISSUES, BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE DEFECT. THE TRAVEL TRAILER CAME WITH THE CRANK TO OPERATE THE SLIDE MANUALLY BUT THE HOLE TO ATTACH THE CRANK TO THE CRANK EXTENSION IS BLOCKED BY THE HOLDING TANK.

THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY ISSUES WITH OUR CAMPER. WE BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN MAY OF 2019, IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WHILE STATIONARY IN AUGUST OF 2019 WHEN WATER STARTED LEAKING THROUGH THE ROOF, DAMAGING THE LIGHT FIXTURES, SOAKING OUR RECLINER, AND THE CARPET/FLOOR NEXT TO THE RECLINER. WE TOOK IT TO OCEAN GROVE AND IT WAS THERE FOR 1 MONTH. THEN SHORTLY AFTER THAT THE SHOWER STARTED LEAKING THROUGH THE FLOOR, MULTIPLE TIMES. EVERY TIME THEY SENT SOMEONE OUT, IT WOULD BE FIXED FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN WE'D HAVE TO CALL THEM BACK TO FIX IT. THIS WENT ON AND ON UNTIL THE WATER DAMAGE WAS SO SEVERE THAT IT HAD DAMAGED THE FUZE BOX. RV-ONE (WHO BOUGHT OUT OCEAN GROVE) CAME OUT TO FIX IT ALONG WITH THE FRONT DOOR THAT, NOW, WASN'T SHUTTING OR STAYING CLOSED. THE CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR WENT OFF IN FEBRUARY OF 2020 TO ADD TO ALL THE OTHER TROUBLES. THEY TOLD US TO BRING IT IN ON FEB. 3RD, 2020. WE BROUGHT THE CAMPER UP TO THEM AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD ORDER THE PARTS ASAP. ON THE WARRANTY CLAIMS IT SAYS THE ORDER WASN'T PLACED UNTIL MARCH 3RD. THEN COVID-19 STARTED HITTING, WHICH DELAYED THEM FROM GETTING PARTS. RV1 HAD OUR CAMPER FOR 5 1/2 MONTHS. THEY CALLED US MAYBE ONCE OR TWICE FOR UPDATES, BUT OTHER THAN THAT WE WERE CONSTANTLY CALLING THEM AND HEARING THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN "YOUR PARTS ARE BEING SHIPPED". WE GOT IT BACK BEGINNING OF JULY AND THEY ARE A HUGE SCRATCH ON THE SIDE AND ACTUALLY TORE UP ONE OF THE TIRE COVERS AND DIDN'T EVEN SAY ANYTHING. WE NOTICED A FEW DAYS AFT

Reading this record

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.

Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.

Most recent recall on file: Jun 4, 2021. Source: NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation.
