2019 Honda Fit

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2021, 2023 Acura TLX, 2019-2024 RDX, 2017-2020, 2022-2026 MDX, 2017-2021, 2023, 2025 Honda Ridgeline, 2017-2022 Pilot, 2019-2021 Passport, 2018-2026 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Insight, 2019-2021 HR-V, 2018-2020 Fit, 2020-2022 CR-V Hybrid, 2017-2022 CR-V, 2017-2018, 2021 Civic Type R, 2017-2021 Civic hatchback, 2016-2020 Civic coupe, 2016-2022 Civic, 2017-2022 Accord Hybrid, and 2016-2022 Accord vehicles. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Risk. Air bags that deploy unintentionally during a crash increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are BOL, WO9, OOA, WOM, XOH, NOC, POD, BOE, UOF, POB, EOG, AOI, QO8, TOJ, DO7, and SOK. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V064. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning May 29, 2026.

The rearview camera image may not display when the engine is started with a key, due to a design error in the audio display power circuit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk. An inoperative rearview camera display can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will update the display audio unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2024. Owners may contact Honda service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are TIQ and DIR. Vehicles previously repaired under recall 23V-046 will need to have the new remedy completed.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. Fuel pump failure can cause an engine stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Acura NSX, 2019 Acura RDX, RLX and RLX Sport Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Accord, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R and HR-V, 2019-2020 Insight and 2019 Fit vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Risk. If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Honda will notify owners and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 22, 2020. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138.

Bad solder connection on instrument cluster circuit board. Unable to see mileage, gas gauge, airbag, check engine, oil, trip meter....etc. intermittently.

The digital multi-information display located within the instrument cluster is failing, causing the characters to scramble, pixelate, and become completely unreadable. This hardware malfunction is intermittent but progressively worsening, rendering critical vehicle operating data entirely inaccessible. Specifically, I am unable to view the available fuel level, odometer, remaining oil life, or trip mileage while driving.Safety Risk:The inability to monitor the vehicle’s remaining fuel level creates a severe and unpredictable safety hazard, as the vehicle could unexpectedly stall or lose power in high-speed traffic or hazardous road conditions without warning. Additionally, the lack of a visible odometer and oil life indicator prevents proper tracking of essential safety inspections and routine maintenance intervals

Purchased great condition used 2019 Fit EX on XXX from local non-Honda dealership. Nearly 10 months later, on XXX the following errors appeared on the dash: tire pressure monitor system, emissions, hill start assist, lane deviation warning, power steering, and vehicle stability assist errors on the screen, and the check engine, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle stability assist system, and electric power steering lights were also on. I took it to a local Honda service shop (Performance Kings Honda at [XXX]), and it was diagnosed as needing fuel injectors replaced (running too rich). I approved the repair for a total cost of $1,629.32, including the diagnostic fee, parts, labor, and taxes, on XXX. This was an identical issue to a used 2018 Honda Fit EX that I had purchased on XXX which had the same symptoms and was diagnosed as the same problem (fuel injectors) in XXX, and for which I submitted a separate NHTSA complaint. This is an issue for the NHTSA because it is a known issue on this make and model of car by owners and Honda. See the following: Honda Service Bulletins 21-007, 22-002, 23-042. Additionally, it's an issue I have had to deal with twice, on two separate vehicles, both of the same make and model, meaning it is likely an extremely prevalent issue for owners. Fuel injectors are an expensive repair, and they're known to be faulty on these vehicles by the manufacturer. Without correction, other major systems in the vehicle will fail, with issues such as engin

Screen with odometer, gas gauge, mpg, etc has been failing. Makes it difficult to get service and warranty coverage on repairs, tires, etc due to not knowing mileage at time of service. Also makes it difficult to know how much fuel is in the vehicle, with risk of running out of gas causing operation and safety issues. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Has been confirmed by dealer and independent service centers. Has been inspected (at my cost) by dealer to determine the cause of the fault. No warning lamps or messages (issue is that these systems are not reliably working) prior to issue. Has worked intermittently, with issues for over 2 years.

Multiple warning lights lit up after starting car and driving for a short distance (less than 5 feet). Honda mechanic diagnosed it as a misfire in cylinder likely due to carbon buildup or other unknown reason. Similar incidents have happened with other 2019 Honda Fit and an extension of warranty was issued for some vehicles but not all (SB 23-042). Unfortunately, mine was apparently not covered despite the same exact issue as other reported incidents.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for a diagnostic test. The dealer retrieved DTC: P0304 (ECM Detected Repeated Misfire in Cylinder #4). The dealer linked the failure to Technical Service Bulletin: 21-007; however, the vehicle was not covered under warranty or the bulletin. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and confirmed the information from the dealer, and the contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 55,666.

Fuel gauge malfunctions when the vehicle is cold .... Cannot see how much fuel is in the car or any other information on the gauge

The fuel gauge, Odometer went blank. Im afraid of be stranded o have in accident . Was taken to Burne Honda Scranton. The problem wasn’t resolved

Dial containing into, fuel quantity, MPG, trip and ODO intermittently will show completely blank (usually in colder weather) and eventually will show. Sometimes takes 2-25 minutes. Honda says the fix is a new dash unit but cause is faulty/bad solders on back of board.

The fuel gauge and odometer digital display goes blank, when it comes back on the numbers are not clear. It does not happen every time I start the car but is something that concerns me. It was first observed January 24, 2026. The safety issue would be not knowing how much gas I have. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer. There were no no warning lights or messages prior to the malfunctioning.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Fit. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the front camera located on the windshield became inoperable. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated with a beeping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the front camera failed to function properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camera unit and the aiming driving support had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,419.

The instrument cluster displaying the odometer, gas gauge, fuel economy flickers and goes dark primarily in cold weather

Car only has 91,000 miles and code P219A is popping up but Honda wont cover it because its the "wrong" code even though they cover fuel injectors under misfire codes.

The dashboard display screen that shows gas gauge, mileage, clock, MPH, and oil life glitches on and off, is at times completely blank, and sometimes shows gibberish or incorrect information. Sometimes it works, but over the past 2-3 years it happens progressively more. My vehicle is about 6 years old and the display now work correctly almost never. This is a safety issue because I now have no way of knowing if I am running out of gas because the display most often shows me nothing, and sometimes shows more gas on the gauge that there actually is. This could lead to my vehicle stalling in traffic or leaving me stranded somewhere unsafe. I also seldom can see the milage and oil life, which means I don't have any way to know if my car is due for important service that ensures it is operating safely. A quick internet search into the problem shows that this is a very common issued in Honda Fits over multiple year models, and is also costly to fix, usually requiring replacement of the unit.

The fuel gauge and odometer digital display goes blank, when it comes back on it is showing scrambled numbers and letters. It doesn't do it all the time however it is getting more frequent.

Digital Dash - past 3 years occurring more, it will blank out, information is distorted can’t read digits or anything for a long weird of time. Unable to detect fuel levels, miles, rest function

The dashboard display fuel gauge is back lit but won’t actually work.

Multiple engine lights turned on at the same time: brake system warning, ACC problem, Auto High beam problem, Road mitigation system problem, LKAS problem. Lights turned on this past week. UNKNOWN cause. Went to official Honda dealership, oil was changed and given a multi-point inspection. Everything showed as Satisfactory, except for front brakes that showed as May require future attention. Battery test was fine and the sensors were cleaned. However, the engine lights still show. I do not feel safe driving my car, given the red solid warning of the brake system and multiple other problems. I am unable to drive car late a night due to the high beam problem, this all poses a safety concern to me and the other drivers on the road.

Dashboard instruments panel showing fuel in tank does not work in cold weather. Do not know when gas tank is near empty. The rest of the display in that part of the dashboard also not working in cold weather (below 50 degrees F.

Purchased new 2019 Honda FIT. Had to have injectors replaced at dealership due to issues at 18,000 miles. At 19,743 miles started having driving issues with unusual jumping during driving/idling. Honda dealership diagnosed as misfire with excessive carbon buildup. Completed carbon cleaning procedure though only temporary repair. American Honda reviewing matter reference #4411584. Issues returned at 40,308 miles with same issues ( all lights going off on dash, carbon buildup in injectors). completed carbon cleaning at dealership. At 44,831 same lights went off again, carbon buildup seen, faulty injectors replaced at dealership. Issues continued at 56,649 where carbon cleaning took place again for issue at dealership. at 86,606 check engine lights returned with jumping, faulty injectors replaced again and a cleaning was performed at dealership. at 113,791 miles, issues came up again. Dealership cleaned again with carbon cleaner. American Honda contacted again after last dealership visit #15755510 with American Honda rep stating there is no solution at this point per Honda engineers.
