My engine failed do to faulty valves at 42000 miles. A check engine light came on and I took it to nearest ford dealership for repairs. It was originally missed diagnosed with faulty ignition coil on number 5 cylinder back in November 2023. Since then it has been determined to have issue mentioned above. They say they will need to replace entire engine. Not happy with this but what can an owner do. I have seen this has been common in other similar vehicles. Has ford found and fixed the problem or will this again happen with the new engine they put in?

While leaving a parking garage the transmission violently jerked out of gears pulling te steering wheel and no longer driving the rear driveline so the vehicle could no longer accelerate up the ramp. Vehicle behind me almost rear ended me. The transmission was hunting erratically between gear as seen by the indicator gears, 1st to 2nd to 8th to 10th to 4th rapidly and began to smell significantly. The only way to pull forward off the ramp was to engage 4WD Hi. No warning lights. Dealer tried to state potentially low battery voltage but the vehicle continues to exhibit surging shifts both upshifts and down shifts.

Filed Feb 16, 2024PA

While coasting to an upcoming stop downhill, on slightly graded slope, speed within 15mph or less, with brake slightly applied; the Automatic Parking Brake engaged on its own, subsequently resulting in the transmission shifting of drive modes to park automatically. The vehicle came to an instant, unexpected stop, while still maintaining a speed around 5mph on its own. The vehicle locked up mid-line-of-traffic, leaving the potential of a rear-end collision by following vehicle. No known damage to transmission or powertrain resulted. Adverse weather/road conditions did not play a factor at the time of incident. Incident has occurred multiple times prior, during similar environment & circumstance.

I received a recall for a windshield wiper motor and took my vehicle to a dealership to have it fixed. Before I went I checked several times to ensure they had the part to perform the recall and they informed me they did. I took it in 01/19/2024 for the recall, waited two and an half hours and they never performed the recall. When I asked the dealership why they did not have an answer and said they would call me back. They have not as of 01/25/2024. I have in the mean time contacted Ford who said the recall should have been performed to take it to another dealership to have it done because it is an active recall. I just don’t understand how the dealership decided what Ford said was a recall did not need to be done and they are a ford dealership.

The fire department was also called and they also helped put out the fire after their arrival. The truck has always been serviced at a Ford dealer and had gone in for an oil change less than 350 miles prior to the truck catching fire.

Speakers (B&O) - I turned on the vehicle from a cold start and I began to hear what I thought was rats invading the rear interior of the vehicle, I heard a loud crunching noise. I turned the stereo down and it was not as pronounced. I began to drive and the sound continued loud cracking and soft at times coming from the front and rear speakers. It was annoying and very loud popping at times. It did not stop when I turned the radio down but it did stop when I got to my destination 10 minutes later. The issue has not reoccurred since but I feel like the rear speakers are not as loud as they once were. I did. It feel my safety was in jeopardy but the sounds was annoyingly loud. No warning lights came on and the Ford app stated there were no problems. I have not yet brought the vehicle I got the dealer. I will be scheduling in the coming days.

I purchased a brand new Metallic Blue 2022 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew FX4 Off Road edition from Greenway Ford in Orlando, FL on [XXX] I traded in a blue 2014 Ford F150 XLT that I had owned for 10 years and was for the most part, a reliable vehicle that I loved. The odometer on the new F150 read ~124 miles on it at the time of purchase. After several months into owning the vehicle the rear passenger window malfunctioned and would not go up. I took it to Greenway Ford and they repaired it in a day under warranty and I didn’t think anything of it. As we entered the Florida rainy season the truck developed a very faint musty smell. After several weeks of hard rains at the beginning of November 2023, I started to hear water sloshing along the sides of the truck. After inspecting the carpets under the floor mats I found them to be completely soaked. I took the truck to Greenway Ford service center where they informed me that the windshield was not installed properly from the factory when the vehicle was built and has been accumulating water and not draining properly. I'm very concerned that there is mold in the vehicle as it still smells. The ABS sensors were also not calibrated. Vehicle started making EXTREMELY loud popping noises from all speakers. This occurred at start up and repeated several times. There does not seem to be any Ford representative acknowledging the problem so I wanted to report it.

Brakes squeal and screech horribly, at first only when the pickup was moving in reverse but now it’s when coming to a stop. It’s so loud it echos in parking lots and causes people to stop and look to see where the noise is coming from. It’s a constant problem that weather conditions do not affect. Had the vehicle in for service numerous times and Ford refuses to fix it or acknowledge there is a problem. Escalated it to Ford corporate and they also refused to do anything about it. At first I was told to wash the wheels “extra good” and it would be just fine and on the last service attempt I was told that the “brake pads just have so much metal in them by design these noises are 100% normal” but now the pickup seems to be losing stopping power and takes longer to stop than it normally did. Per Ford the brake pads are all 9MM and 10MM and “perfectly fine” but the pickup just does not feel safe. I feel there is definitely defects in the braking system including but not limited to brake pads. And complaints are numerous in the forums and online about the same issues with the F-150 line.

Upon starting my pickup after work a loud static sounding noise was heard coming from the speakers in the rear doors and in the A pillars of the vehicle. I was unable to get the noise to stop even if the radio was turned off. I had no control of the volume coming out of the speakers and it seemed that it was as loud as they could go. The noise was not always constant, sometimes quieting down for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. However, I have a half hour drive to get home and this sound was continuous for the entire drive. The noise was loud enough that I feel hearing protection would be required to operate the vehicle. I drove the vehicle to the dealership where I had purchased it and made an appointment to have the issue resolved.

This has happened to me 3 times now. When I start the truck, a loud pop can be heard and then an extremely loud static noise starts throughout the entire truck. All speakers produce loud static and popping sounds. I took this to the dealer and while happening and the dealer had “no idea” what to do. The only remedy I’ve been given is to disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and reconnect. This makes the awful sound stop. This happened while drive and almost caused me to crash twice. There is talks of this on forums happening to other truck owners with the BO Unleashed sound system. Ford, NHTSA please create a TSB and figure this issue out. It affects my hearing every time the static and popping starts. Forums have said the Digital Sound Processor is a part of the problem when streaming with Apple car play or android auto. I spent $70K on this truck and am tired of this happening. please please get this issue fixed or else it will cause a serious crash. This has occurred three times from years April 2022-December 2023!!!!

A few months after purchased, I went to a shop to rotate tires for first time. Upon removing the rear passenger tire, the mechanic was shocked to see the axle bolt sheared off and lying inside the hub. Ford said not to drive it, and they picked it up for warranty service. They replaced the rear axle. A year later, I noticed a black greasy substance on the same rim. Went to Ford, and the axle bolt had broken again. This time it had apparently been off for some time. They replaced the axle, brake rotor, and both sets of rear brake shows, as the wobbly wear had ruined the brakes. A month later, I am now noticing that black greasy substance again on the same rim. My power train warranty is out at 60k miles, and I feel that I have a vehicle that is going to ruin an axle every 15-20k miles and be a serious danger to my family should the tire come loose in motion. There are other issues with the truck that are less dangerous such as intermittent black out of the GPS screen, but those do not have the consequences I fear from the breaking axle.

I was driving this morning and out of nowhere, my radio starting making the loudest noise I've ever heard (x3). Louder then a darn gun shot. I almost had an accident because I thought the truck was exploding. Had to slam on the breaks and jump out. Dealership was no real help, so had to walk all the way home to get noise canceling headphones so I could reenter the vehicle. Re-entered to a burning smell. Called Ford and was told to try and remove and reinstall the battery. I did this and it fixed it, but now driving with noise canceling headphones and can't have anybody in the car out of fear for hearing loss. Sitting here at my desk with ringer ears and bad headache.

I opened my door to "complete" the computer shut off. I tried randomly pulling fuses to no avail. I did NOT have tools to remove the battery connection. It produced such power that a distinct odor of electrical fire was present. I did NOT witness flame, but I was very worried it was soon to happen. I drove to dealer. When in my vehicle, there is a very loud POP and STATIC that is sufficiently loud that it is startling and dangerous. I've experienced this issue 3 times now. I contacted Ford, and their support team just pointed me to my dealer. This issue will eventually cause someone to crash, lose hearing, cause a seizure, etc.. Very dangerous. After experiencing the issue, I began doing online searches and find that this issue has been reported across multiple platforms including news and forums. It appears that the issue exists with the B&O sound system. My dealer claimed they weren't sure what the problem was, but that they could take a look and try to figure it out. I think this is a serious enough issue that the Ford and the dealers should prioritize the repair as this is far more serious than an errant windshield wiper (one of the recalls).
