My truck accelerated on its own , repeatedly, while highway driving . Had to drive with brakes on until I was able to pull over . Turned off truck , waited a few minutes , turned back on and without having my foot anywhere near the accelerator, the truck accelerated on its own , as if someone was gunning the engine - while still in park . Turned off again . NOTHING was near my accelerator to cause this - I managed to get to the dealership . They said it was my floor mats that caused the problem . They found nothing mechanical. I assured them the mat was not the cause - this truck nearly killed me and I know something is wrong with it . The acceleration was constant , the engine noise loud as if gunning - cruise control was not on . The truck has been driven several times by my husband and nothing has happened, but I will never drive it as it scared the life out of me . This is my 4th F-150 - I know the truck and know how to drive it . This is not normal obviously, and it isn’t the mat . I used the exact same mats in my previous truck for almost 5 years . Then transferred them - it’s NOT the problem ! The truck is dangerous and something is wrong .
Three times now a VERY loud static noise comes through the speakers when I start the truck. It sounds like a blown amplifier. It only lasts for a few seconds, but it is loud enough that my ears are still ringing. It would cause a wreck if it happens when driving. I am taking into Ford dealer on Monday, but they say they have never heard of the issue.
Left side axle bolt sheard off while under normal driving conditions.

On start, a loud "pop" was heard and the audio system went into full volume static and other sounds. Radio could not control it, on/off or volume, nothing would stop it. sound was deafening and lasted as long as the ignition was on. turned off ignition, yet it kept on regardelss of what I did with any interior controls. Sound was deafening and as I came to a stoplight, I could not hear the siren of an ambulance approaching from the left. I could not hear the siren due to the noise in the cabin! No way to stop the noise except after shutting down the ignition and leaving it alone for 15minutes........and it turned itself on again even after I had left the vehicle!
The audio system is malfunctioning - a loud audible cracking noise occurs when audio sources are selected or connected/disconnected from the vehicle's sound system. During the malfunction, the volume control knob was unresponsive, and there was no varying difference in sound when attempting to lower the volume. The sound was so loud that it caused my ears to ring and my body to involuntarily flinch from the shock of the sudden and sharp noise coming from the speakers. My ears continued to ring for several minutes following the incident. This could pose a safety risk to occupants as it may lead to long term hearing damage or loss. I have scheduled an appointment with my Ford service department to have the issue addressed one week from the initial occurrence. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.
The all digital gauge cluster just goes out while driving leaving the driver with no instrumentation. The ford dealer states ford knows about it with a service bulletin. The vehicle is not able to be driven with iut knowing how fast you are going if you even your fuel level.
The vehicle has fallen out of neutral tow mode while being towed behind motor home twice. First time happened April 10, 2022 and the second was August 23, 2023. The first time it ruined the transfer case and transmission, a dealer in Georgia replaced those and all 4 tires. The second time we were able to stop with only tire damage. Both times we were driving on the highway. Both times the neutral tow mode was set through the dash board of the F150. There were no warning lights only smoke from the truck and motorhome slowing down due to F150 not rolling. Neither incident involved police, we were able to pull off to side out of traffic.
Truck speakers randomly emit excessively LOUD pops and static. Took in truck for service and they “couldn’t replicate.” This was at a Ford dealer in Mew York. Gave truck back. It has done it everyday since and it’s so loud it’s almost like I’m in a concert. It lasts 5-10 seconds. It causes disaffections when driving as well. First time it happened I thought something broke a window. I saw many complaints posted about this through NHTSA and found online via [XXX] that Ford issued a bulletin for this fix but my service department at the local dealership didn’t bother to fix it. This has been an ongoing issue since I purchased the truck in late 2022. This was my first attempt to have it fixed. I brought this vehicle into 2 different Ford dealers to have the Recall 22C22 (wiper motor) taken care of. Both dealers said my wiper motors were not part of the affected recall parts. My wipers had stopped working one time and this was reported to both the dealers and Ford. The dealers will not fix it without Ford's permission. Ford is telling me I must take it back to a dealer to see if they will fix it. Here is the quote from Ford, "Since the vehicle is still having issues with the wiper motors not working, the dealership must assist. They need to inspect again and if they are refusing service you will need to find another dealer. I have been in touch with [XXX] , and he stated same thing you first thing you told me that it had passed inspection. If they state that current malfunction is not related to the recall, then we can still review to see how we can help. The vehicle needs to be inspected again and if they refuse, go to another dealer and we can review again." INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The loud sound of shattered glass and of glass cracking played over the sound system. This is the second time it has happened to us. Turning off the F150 and opening the door did not help it stop. This is very scary when driving. Since it happened before, I didn’t panic this time, but it is a reoccurring problem that could contribute to an accident.
Emergency brake activated while driving causing tires to lock and skid forward
2022 Ford F-150 tremor owner with B&O Unleashed sound system. Yesterday 8/22/2023 when starting my truck I experienced a loud big boom followed by loud static and popping sounds which was varying in pinch and level for all speakers. I could not turn off the audio or turn down the audio. I turned off the truck and it continued to make the same noises for some time before stopping on its own. I had to drive for over 30 minutes with this going on in order to get home. I eventually got back into the truck later on and started the truck with the issue resolved and back to normal operations for now. I have also had multiple issues since the purchase of the truck in July 2022 of when attempting to roll up my automatic windows and they keep reopening on there own. Sometimes it takes two or three tries to keep the window up.
Air conditioning unit does not work after about 30 minutes of operation.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact turned the volume down however, the static and popping sound continued. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,658.
My vehicle sound system sometimes makes ear splitting squelching noises. It has caused my ears to ring. It has done it twice in the last week.
Advancing forward in traffic to a stop sign on a downward slope in tow/haul mode. Stopped at the intersection and began to accelerate into a left hand turn. Initial acceleration was fine and then the rear tires locked up and squealed on the asphalt. Truck came to a stop and when I looked down the screen said the parking brake was on. I never activated the parking brake. Seemed to disengage on its own after a few seconds. Highly dangerous situation.
Component: Stereo + Speakers I was put at risk because of the extremely loud sound coming from the speakers that I could not control. I was unable to hear traffic around me or concentrate on driving. It startled me so much I almost swerved into traffic. It was inspected by the manufacturer and they performed a reprogramming of the (audio controller?). There were no other warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the problem. It first appeared after owning the vehicle for 6 months. Details of incidents: I have had this happen 6 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by no sound. Volume controls are unresponsive. No audio plays. After 15-20 seconds, the audio returns and volume controls are responsive again. I have had this happen 2 times: Turn on vehicle. Explosive POP comes from the speakers followed by continual max volume static. Volume controls are unresponsive. Restarting the vehicle does not fix the problem. Static continues for up to 40 minutes. Once vehicle was turned off for more than a few minutes, the problem stopped and audio returned to normal.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the electronic parking brake engaged independently, and the vehicle stopped abruptly. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband depressed the brake pedal, shifted into park (P), shifted back into drive (D), and continued driving. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake) because VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist because the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. The VIN was unavailable.
"Park Brake Fault Service Now" popped up on the dash when I opened the door. There is an upcoming recall on this according to: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a44690504/ford-f-150-parking-brake-recall/
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the parking brake independently engaged with the parking brake warning light illuminated. The contact was forced to restart the vehicle to resume normal driving. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake) which the contact linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
The following occurred in a 2022 Ford F150 Raptor with less than 500 miles. As soon as I put the car in drive and turned out of the parking lot, there was a huge boom that sounded like an explosion. I assumed that something had burst or all of my glass was shattered and the sound of loud crackling noises could be heard coming from the speakers. After the explosion-like sound, I was unable to hear for some time and I nearly went deaf. Regardless of whether I turned the audio on or off, the loud crackling noise would not go away. without delay The service manager afterwards contacted me and told me that the sound system needed to be reconfigured after I drove to the dealer to demonstrate the problem.
Noticed when the vehicle was already in motion and accelerating to get up to the street speed the truck all of a sudden starts shaking in the back. The shaking was not only in the back but in the front also. I called Ford and they stated there was nothing wrong with it. If that’s the case the explain why the back end and front end of the truck started shaking.
While driving down interstate Friday, July 28, at approximately 6:15PM in North Augusta, SC, I heard a loud noise and could not identify what had happened. It was raining so I did not notice that the fixed portion of the panoramic sunroof over the back seat was shattered. I did not think to even look back there closely. The next morning I got into vehicle to find glass in back seat and water all over floor and seat in back. The whole panel had shattered.
Door latches are inoperable from the inside after slamming the door. Three out of four doors have become inoperable from the inside since new. The problem is repairable however I fear that upon a front impact doors will become inoperable and create confined space entrapment. Incidents were 11/1/2022 (rear passenger), 4/12/2023 (driver's), and 6/15/2023 (rear driver's).
Started vehicle and a horrific static popping sound started coming thru the speakers. It lasted about 10 seconds and I immediately turned vehicle off as I thought it was going to explode or burn. I restarted it again and it made the same sound again for about 5 seconds and it then stopped. 3rd time I started the truck it did not make the noise. When making the noise I couldn’t adjust the volume on radio or make a phone call
While merging onto a freeway from the on-ramp into traffic, the transmission has trouble shifting and getting up to speed i’ve only owned it a month now and haven’t had it serviced yet, but it most definitely is a problem.
Several times the infotainment system specifically the camera system fails to operate. When backing up the camera system is unavailable, the screen just shows the Ford emblem. This condition has happened several times and takes 3-4 minutes to correct or the vehicle must be shut off and restarted to get the system to work. Backing a vehicle of this size without the camera is somewhat difficult. I mentioned it to the dealer, they said Ford is aware of the issue but can't tell me when or if it is going to be corrected. I also took the truck in for an update and told them of an incident that occurred when I got into the truck after it had been sitting for 4-5 hours. When I started the truck an incredibly loud alarm coming from the sound system went off. I sounded like all of the speakers blew but after they checked they hadn't. It's only done that once and the dealer told me my incident was the only one they've heard of. I have not had an accident due to this issue. There have not been any warning lights.
When adaptive cruise control is set, the vehicle thinks there is a crash ahead and applies the brakes when in reality nothing is in front of the vehicle . This causes a very dangerous situation for vehicles behind the truck when it applies emergency braking.
Upon entering the Ford f150 vehicle and turning it on there was loud sonic boom noise through the speakers and then ear piercing static. It could not be turned down by the radio controls. Radio was turned off but static still wouldn’t stop. Vehicle was turned off and static still was still going. I waited 15 minutes with the vehicle off and it finally quit. Truck started no problem and static gone. I have read of numerous reports about this same thing with the B&O Unleashed radio system which I have. I have suffered some hearing loss and ringing in my ears even after 2 days. If this had happened on the highway or in traffic it would probably have caused a wreck.
My radio/stereo/speakers introduced an extremely loud "pop" noise, or "banging" noise. It was reminiscent to my time overseas in the military and gunfire. It was extremely startling and hurtful to all three passengers in my vehicle, including myself, my spouse, and my 2-year-old child. This is a recurring issue as of now, and many others are complaining about the same issue happening to them.
I have had two instances where a loud pop occurs when playing the stereo, and then an even louder static noise begins. The static noise does not stop. The first time, I took the truck to the dealership and they had to disconnect the battery. Approximately 3 months later, the same issue occurred, but now it was accompanied by a burning smell. After the first incident, the dealer repaired (not replaced) the module. But, again, the static noise returned two months later. I now have constant ringing in both ears, which may indicate permanent hearing loss.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact then received notification that parts were currently available. The dealer was notified, and the contact was informed that unless the windshield wipers had failed, they would not perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and confirmed that the recall repair would not be performed unless the windshield wipers became inoperable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
While driving, with the audio system off, suddenly I heard a loud explosion. next I heard what sounded like class breaking. I thought i was involved in an accident and slammed on my brakes. Realizing I was ok, the next thought that came to mind was that someone shot at me. The crackling sounds ( like glass breaking did not stop). i drive directly to a ford dealership. they heard and acknowledged the cracking sound. i turned off the truck and the sound CONTINUED.
Deafening sound, speaker pop and random static/buzz sound coming through speakers at random times to include forward /reverse driving, changing gears etc.
Loud pop and then extremely loud static coming through all speakers, pulled over turned truck off and noise continued. Unable to drive because noise was so loud. Started truck again and turned off multiple times, turned radio on and off multiple times and noise continued. With truck off doors closed and locked noise continued. After about 15 min it stopped and worked normal. I called dealer and they said they don’t have a fix and if it is currently working normal there’s nothing they can do.
I was driving down the highway and a loud pop followed by a very high pitched static noise came out of my speakers. I had to unhook a battery terminal to get it to stop. This is the 3rd time this has happened and the dealership won’t do anything as it’s extremely difficult to replicate.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed and released. The contact then depressed the brake pedal; however, the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately, and the transmission failed to shift into neutral (N). The vehicle coasted to the side of the roadway and was able to come to a complete stop. The dealer was made aware of the failure but confirmed that they would not be able to duplicate the failure without a check engine warning light illuminated. The dealer advised the contact to drive the vehicle until the check engine warning light illuminates to diagnose the vehicle. The contact stated that the following week, the failure recurred while making a left turn into the gas station. The vehicle experienced unintended acceleration at 42 MPH, and the brakes failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The "Sudden Acceleration, Sudden Braking" message was displayed. The vehicle crashed into a gas station, injuring the cashier and a customer. One of the injured people received medical attention. The contact did not sustain any injuries, but medical attention was received. No air bags were deployed upon impact. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the police department, where a police investigator accessed the EDR. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The contact related the failure to a stuck throttle; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired and remained a
On 2 seperate occasions the audio system has malfunctioned. The truck has the B and O "Unleashed" sound system. The first time was December 2022. I started the vehicle and the sound system blasted at full volume and scared the heck out of me. The system would not respond in any way, blank display on the dash. The second time was May 2023. I started the truck and there was a loud "explosion" sound and the display was again totally blank and not responding. Drove to the dealership and was told they had no idea what was wrong. Very dangerous situation that is not safe. Truck has had 2 recalls and only has less than 2000 miles. Purchased new at Harold Ford 6/29/22. Assembled at Dearborn Truck. Currently waiting on axle parts at dealership. LEMON would be being kind.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V842000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH in the rain, the windshield wipers stopped working. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, where he remained until the vehicle was safe to drive. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the windshield wiper motor terminals were cleaned, and the motor was reinstalled. The windshield wipers became operable however, the failure recurred three days later. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Following automatic install of Ford Power-Up 4.2.4 on 6/9/23 center 12” infotainment display has been experiencing freeze ups, audio glitches, and video delays. This occurs most often when the rear back up camera is active. At times the rear backup camera video freezes or blanks out entirely. I have not yet contacted the automaker because they’ve not released any sort of update or comments dealing with the issue. The malfunction could pose a risk of collision as the rear camera becomes briefly unusable even while in motion.
The contact owned a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 3-4 MPH going up a sandy rocky hill while towing a trailer, he noticed smoke and flames coming from the driver's and passenger's side engine compartments. There were no reported injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. The Insurance provider had the vehicle inspected by a Fire Origin Specialist however, the contact was not provided a report of any findings. The contact called the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 4,000.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
