1 safety recall

Part 573 reports
Electrical System › Instrument Cluster/Panel26V575000
Filed Sep 7, 202614,014 vehiclesBombardier Recreational Products, Inc.

Defect. Bombardier Recreational Products, Inc. (BRP) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Can-Am Origin, Can-Am Pulse, 2025-2027 Can-Am Canyon, 2024-2027 Can-Am Spyder RT, and Can-Am Spyder F3 motorcycles equipped with a touchscreen instrument cluster. The instrument cluster may reset, freeze, or go blank. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 123, "Motorcycle Control and Displays," and FMVSS number 122, "Motorcycle Brake Systems."

Risk. An inoperative instrument cluster will fail to display critical safety information, such as vehicle speed and warning lights, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. The instrument cluster software will be updated over-the-air (OTA) or by a dealer, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 12, 2026. Owners may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 22, 2026. The manufacturers number for this recall is 2027-2 & 2026-3.

My vehicle has had this issue 2 times since it was purchased, the first time at 800 miles on the bike and the second time at 1050 miles on the bike. While driving at highway speeds 70 mph the automatic transmission just shifted into neutral, leaving me in the middle of traffic and trying to get off the highway safely.there was no sign of any trouble until it happened both times. The second time it happened I was almost hit by a passing vehicle as I had very little room to get off the highway. The vehicle did produce a trouble code and the dealer didn’t know how to fix it, it was in their shop for 5 weeks and it was not fixed correctly but they gave it back to me and said ride it to see if it happens again, it did after less than 200 miles. It’s at the shop now and they are not sure what the issue is. I feel this is a very big safety issue as I was lucky to at least be able to get off the highway some.

Reading this record

No unusual pattern of severe incidents in the complaint record.

Complaint counts track how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road as much as they track quality. A common model from 2013 has had a decade to accumulate reports; a rare one from last year has not. The signal worth weighing is in the severity columns, in whether the same component keeps appearing, and in whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.

Recall repairs are free for as long as the recall stands. Check whether a specific car still has open work at NHTSA's VIN lookup.
