Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2024 LFS Artic and 2022-2024 LFS buses. The coolant sensor could send a false signal, causing the engine to shut down.

Risk. An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 2, 2026. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will need the new repair completed.

Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 1997-2002, 2005-2024 LFS, 2009-2014, and 2016 - 2024 LFS Artic transit buses. The low brake air pressure warning light may fail to illuminate when the engine is off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 121, "Air Brake Systems."

Risk. A low brake air pressure warning light that fails to illuminate when the engine is off will not alert the driver to a low brake pressure condition, increasing the risk of a crash if the parking brake is disengaged before starting the engine.

Remedy. Nova Bus will update the firmware, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 17, 2026. Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2019-2020 LFS Artic and 2019-2023 LFS transit buses. The driver's speaker hole door may have been built with the prime glazing manufacturer DOT code mark missing. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 205, "Glazing Materials."

Risk. A missing DOT code mark may result in the door being replaced with the incorrect type of plastic, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nova Bus will replace the plastic panel door, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed by July 7, 2026. Risk. An overloaded control unit may shutdown, causing a loss of drive power and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nova Bus will modify the connection configuration, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 29, 2026. The driver's seat belt tension-reliving device may fail to disengage without manual intervention. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk. Failure of the tension-reliving device may prevent the seat belt from properly restraining the driver, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy. Nova Bus will remove the seat belt tension-reliving device, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2026. Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2020-2023 LFS transit buses. The electric power steering system may be missing a check valve, allowing hydraulic pressure to turn the steering wheel without the driver's input.

Risk. A steering wheel that turns unintentionally increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses. A digital display firmware error may cause the instrument panel indicator lights to remain solidly illuminated even when the turn signal are off. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. A faulty indictor light, that cannot provide the driver with information about the status of the turn signals, increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Nova Bus will update the digital display firmware, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 7, 2025. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5732.

Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS transit buses. The engine wiring harness may be the incorrect length, which can result in harness damage and a loss of drive power.

Risk. A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash.

Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Nova Bus LFS transit buses. The high voltage batteries may have loose hardware that can fall inside the battery pack and create a short circuit.

Risk. A short circuit increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Nova Bus will replace the batteries, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 5, 2025. A second letter will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5687.

Defect. Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2022-2024 LFS buses. The wheelchair securement system may have been installed with the attachment points in the incorrect locations.

Risk. Incorrectly located attachment points may prevent the securement system from adequately restraining the occupant, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Remedy. Nova Bus will reinstall securement system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 28, 2025. Owners may contact Nova Bus at 1-866-870-2046. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5674.

NOVA BUS's in this model year and build series LF26 Unit numbers 2301-2309 have expierienced a high failure rat of the steering gear box. These units are exibiting play in the sector shaft at an ealry age and the play is causing fluid leaks of the steering hydryaulic oil that poses a severe safety risk to the operator, passengers, and the public in and around the vehicles while being driven. We have been replacing the steering boxes as the failure is noted. Parts availability from NOVA has been poor. This bus had the box replaced on 9/2/2025 at 83,361 miles These are heavy duty transit buses with a life expectancy of 12 plus years

This NOVA BUS form build series LF26 a 2023 model year had a failure at the steering gear box as the previous complaint the sector shaft was found to have too much play causing the seal to leak hydraulic steering oil which poses a sever risk to the safety of the operator, the passengers, and the public Again we have had a high failure rate on this and other NOVA buses Build series LB77, LE92 and LF26 2019, 2022, and 2023 model years. 18 steering boxes replaced just in 2025 among the fleet of NOVA buses. Others in 2024! Box manufactuer TRW NOVA part number N100487 We have had to source boxes elswhere to meet demand due to parts not being available from NOVA all of th time when needed.
