Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2014-2020 C-Class, CLA, GLA, S-Class, GLC, and GLE vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA's recall report for specific vehicle details. The front roof panel located between the windshield and the panoramic sunroof may not have been bonded correctly to the vehicle during a prior repair, allowing the front panel to detach from the vehicle.

Risk. A detached roof panel can become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the front panel, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 2, 2024. Owner notification letters will be mailed in phases, on, March 22,2024, and August 2, 2024. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. Risk. The adhesive bonding of the front panel might deteriorate, possibly causing the front panel to detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Mercedes-Benz dealer will remove the bonded panel and will install a new front panel by following the detailed repair instructions and using the approved primer, cleaner and adhesive, free of charge. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2017-2019 C300, E300, 2018-2020 CLA250, 2020 CLS450, AMG E53, AMG GT53, GLE450, 2018 AMG E63, AMG GTA, 2017-2020 GLA250, GLC300, 2019 GLC350, AMG GLC43, 2017-2018 GLE350, 2019 AMG GLC 43, GLC350, GLE400, 2017 GLS450, S550, C300 Cabrio, and 2018-2019 S560 vehicles. On June 18, 2021, an additional 9 vehicles were added, including certain 2021 GLA250, GLC300, 2018 S450, E400, and 2017 CLA250 vehicles. The communication module might have been inadvertently deactivated during a service visit, which could have disabled the Emergency Call (eCall) function.

Risk. A disabled eCall system would prevent a vehicle occupant from contacting emergency services through the call center in an emergency, potentially delaying emergency responders and increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the communication module and activate it, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began March 31, 2021. The software design of the communication module may fail to communicate the correct vehicle location for the emergency call system (eCall) in the event of a crash.

Risk. Failure of the eCall system may result in emergency responders being dispatched to the wrong location, increasing the risk of injury following a crash.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and the communication module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. The recall began March 12, 2021. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-877-762-8267. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2021020025.

The seat belt latch plates (the parts that insert into the buckles) for the outboard rear seats may retract into the interior paneling, preventing the occupants from being able to use the seat belts.

Risk. If the rear seat passengers cannot fasten their seat belts, they have an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will install felt strips between the C-pillar and rear side paneling, free of charge. The recall began November 2, 2018. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-800-367-6372. MBUSA's number for this recall is 2018100002.

The seat belt latch plates (the parts that insert into the buckles) for the outboard rear seats may retract into the interior paneling, preventing the occupants from being able to use the seat belts.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2016-2017 GLC300, GLC300 4MATIC and GLC43 4MATIC vehicles. These vehicles may have misadjusted headlights, possibly resulting in the low beam headlights insufficiently illuminating the roadway. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk. An insufficiently illuminated roadway may increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. MBUSA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the headlamp adjustment, adjusting it as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on January 12, 2018. Owners may contact MBUSA customer service at 1-877-496-3691.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2017-2018 GLC300, GLC300 4Matic, and GLC43 AMG vehicles. The fixed panoramic sun roof frontal and side plastic panels may have insufficient bonding, allowing the panels to separate during vehicle operation.

Risk. If the sun roof panels detach from the vehicle, it can increase the risk of a crash or injury for following traffic.

Defect. Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC. (MBUSA) is recalling one 2017 C43 AMG, one E300 4Matic sedan, one GLC300, and one E43 AMG 4Matic sedan. These vehicles have electrical power steering control units with improperly welded contact pins.

Risk. The improperly welded pins may lose contact, deactivating the power steering assist and increasing the risk of a crash.

In the event that the engine or transmission cannot turn over, the starting current limiter may overheat from the repeated attempts of the starter motor attempting to start the vehicle.

Risk. If the starting current limiter overheats, the surrounding components can melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

My 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 is equipped with a panoramic sunroof. The sunroof mechanism and rails were repaired and replaced previously. Approximately a month and a half ago, following heavy rainfall, I discovered water staining on the interior headliner, indicating possible water intrusion through the panoramic roof assembly. I returned the vehicle to the Mercedes-Benz dealership for inspection. The dealership advised me that the seals around the panoramic roof had deteriorated or failed and quoted approximately $10,000 to replace the affected assembly. I am concerned that water entering the vehicle through the roof could potentially reach electrical components, cause electrical malfunctions, damage safety-related systems, or create other hazards. I am also concerned that the panoramic roof may not be adequately sealed despite the previous repair. Mercedes-Benz USA has advised me that there are no active recalls associated with my vehicle identification number. However, I am reporting this issue to NHTSA because I believe the failure of the panoramic roof sealing system warrants review for a potential safety-related defect, particularly given the previous repair and subsequent water intrusion. The problem was evaluated by an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealership. The dealership's diagnosis and repair records may be available for inspection upon request. I have purchased a vehicle cover to help protect the car from further rain exposure while this issue remains unresolved. I

Independent service company said the car has a raw fuel smell under the vehicle. Signs of fuel leak at the connection between the high pressure fuel rail / high pressure fuel pump line. Mentioned a recall campaign of 2022030003. That addresses this issue. I contacted Mercedes Benz dealers (2) and they said my VIN does not show a recall. The recall does show up online via an AI search and it is supposed to cover 2016-2020 GLCs like ours. Don't know why this is. Can you help?

I smell gas in my car. There is a recall for the fuel parts on the 2019. I have a 2017 with the same issue.

The Valve body control failed. I took the car into the dealership but upon doing some searching this seems to be a common issue amongst owners of this vehicle/make model. The transmission won't go beyond 5th gear (of 9) so it's is dangerous to drive on the interstate. The car doesn't shift into drive, only shifts into N, the reverts automatically to park. It required the engine shutting on/off multiple times and only then does it go into 3rd gear, causing the vehicle to jump due to missing gears. This issue could leave an owner stranded at any time and cause injury due to the limitations of the gears. It was inspected and confirmed behavior by Mercedes in Durham NC. There were no warning lamps, there were no signs of the issue. The technician did plug it in and was able to read the fault codes but it didn't trigger a light. The appeared first about 45 days ago, and the vehicle was taken in to be looked at 7/21/25.

My vehicle goes into neutral while driving which poses a major risk.

Vehicle has previous recalls done and still has the same issues with recall. Srs code no air bag will deploy. Dealer ship refused to service vehicle due to miscommunication and I'm driving a defective vehicle without an airbag which could lead to a bad accident waiting to happened. I will like to file a complaint against Mercedes of Richmond for refusing to service my vehicle without a defective air bag and the passenger seat bear latch doesn't retract properly. So I'm currently dealing with 2 huge safety hazard and was denied service due to a miscommunication with Steven Powers (service technician) at Mercedes of Richmond! I will like an investigation done.

No incident my vehicle has a front left malfunction service required light and issues with the passenger seatbelt not proper latching. Upon checking I notice my car had previous recalls done. It seems as if the same issues has come about. NHTSA: 18v177- seat belt not retracting properly. NHTSA: 17V627 is related to the steering column switch replacement of clock spring. So if me or a family member was to get into an accident no airbag will deploy! Huge safety hazard!

The driver mirror and passenger mirror are warping or having some type of melting effect happening to it.

-The malfunctioned component is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation. - Vehicle wanted to stall and did not want to accelerate while in the middle lane on the highway with my family. - Yes it has been diagnosis by certified mechanic - The check engine light turned on at the time of the incident and has been turning on and off ever since.

I was driving and my engine light came on. I ran the code and it came up as P052E which has to do with the positive crankcase ventilation regulator valve. I’ve heard that this part goes out very often on the Mercedes Benz.

Strong gasoline smell coming from the engine bay every morning at start up. I removed protective plastic lining from the under carriage to identify the issue. I identified a lot of gasoline dripping from the top portion of the engine compartment where the High Pressure Fuel Pump is located. There was no warning or check engine lights that alerted of this issue of a gasoline leak. This is very dangerous as it could cause the vehicle to catch fire.

I previously submitted a problem My #11606217 I found out that these tires (2nd set replacement due to tread low within 7 months) I am very concerned that due to the DOT # on these tire is 0119 (last four) which is 5 years old I do not feel safe to travel on tires that is 5 yeas old The original purchase was January 2024. On [XXX], I purchased 2 Brand New Tires for my vehicle from (Howie's Tires (No. Miami Fl) This company is a DBA Walter James Investments LLC These tires was to be placed on the rear and moved the rear tire (Mercedes) to the front On [XXX], the passenger front tire (Mercedes) blow out due to a nail I was towed along with my vehicle to Howie's to purchased another tire to replace the passenger front. I have always purchased my tires from Mercedes-Benz (Ft Lauderdale, FL) I was told by a mechanic (July 31, 2024) that I would soon need rear tires due to the tread was very low These tires were not 7 months old. I DONT UNDERSTAND I contacted Renzo at Howie's I went in on August 1, 2024 to let them see this. He said also said the tread was low. Another guy (maybe the manager) came out. He started telling me the those were not their tire also I had them rotated. He wanted me to pay for a another tire and he give me one. I said no to his accusations. Today, August 2, 2024, I had these tire installed. I asked them was their a DOT number that should be on my receipt he said no to both times. I was told there is and I will like you to look into this for me. The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC300. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the windshield wiper blades detached. The contact stated that the vehicle was purchased new in 2017. The contact stated that whenever it rained and the wipers were activated, the wiper blades would detach and flop over the front windshield. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer several times and the wiper blades had been replaced several times; however, the failure was persistent. Check Engine light came on. Mercedes Benz authorized service mechanic confirmed it is code P052E - Positive Crankcase Ventilation regulator valve issues that can cause engine to seize while driving. Vehicle has always been serviced regularly at authorized dealer service center. Current estimated Repair and replacement cost $9,700+ . Mercedes Benz authorized Service Center informed that the part is backordered and no estimated date available.

The last time I drove my vehicle was Monday [XXX] which that day it was raining. I covered my car with my car cover that day because I don't use my vehicle often and being that it was raining I covered it and my vehicle was fine on this day. On Monday [XXX] it was raining as well, I took off my car cover off and when we opened the trunk of the vehicle we noticed that the trunk was wet including the bag to my car cover. We also noticed from the trunk opening that the vehicle had some spots of mold and there was also mold spots on the back of the seat right side of vehicle. I had an appointment at Mercedes Benz dealership in Portland Oregon to change my transmission & engine oil. As I drove the vehicle to the dealership for my appointment my daughter and I noticed drops of water falling on us and we didn't have our windows open because it was raining. The water was coming from the sunroof area and the sunroof wasn't open. We kept driving until we got to the dealership and once we got there we noticed that the back seats were also wet and the right side back seat had a few spots of mold on the seatbelt. We left the vehicle at the dealership. Today Wednesday [XXX] the dealership is stating that because the sunroof is used so much the parts in that area due to wear and tear it's no longer working properly. They are charging my daughter 500.00 for a water test that they did to the top of the sunroof and for changing the seals the the sunroof and the back of the trunk they are charg

Smell of gas

After noticing my engine light come on, I had my vehicle checked out, the dealer informed (after spending $250.00) that the problem is the crankcase ventilation and it's a common problem. It seems the oh so familiar crankcase ventilation system is not working. This is a common problem with the GLC300 and Mercedes Benz needs to correct it. The engine is not being ventilated properly and the overwhelming smell of gasoline engulfs the interior of the vehicle. This is putting mine and the life of my family at risk, due to a faulty manufacturer issue. Mecedes Benz needs to obviously correct the faulty parts they use as soon as possible, before someone loses their life.

The seat belt latch in the second seating row, the outboard seatbelt latch plate retracted into the area between the c-pillar paneling and the rear side paneling. The rear occupant was not be able to fasten the seat belt latch. The latch plate retracted behind the panel and the seat belt for the affected rear seat was not be available for fastening. I was able to grab the latch plate with a pliers and bring it out from behind the panel but I am afraid this situation will occur again. I checked my VIN against you checker and it says NO RECALL is pending. I assume MB did not include this VIN in its report to you or falsely claimed the vehicle was repaired. reference # 2018030012, May 2018

Engine light - crankcase vent valve issue

P052E code showing on the diagnostic machine. This is an issue with the positive crankcase ventilation regularly valve. I’ve read that this is a common issue with my vehicle that often happens after the warranty expires.

The Positive Crankcase Ventillation harness fails and check engine light goes on. Through my research I found that many C class and GLC class with same engine have had similar issues and there was a recall and covered. My particular VIN was not included in the recall but had this check engine warning sign before 50K miles warranty expires. The light always went away but now it has come back on for the third time and not going away. The cost to replace this simple module is mostly labor at 8 hours is around $2,000. I believe this is an emission component and need to be covered under state and federal emission standards warranty. The initial recall with this issue should be involved with same engine and cover all cars and SUV's with same engine. I do believe this is an Emission control device that is regulated by state and federal standards and should be covered under warranty.

Premature failure of the PCV assembly at 70,000 miles. Caused vehicle to turn off and sometimes engine to shake.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the front driver’s side seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the contact stated that the failure had occurred several times before the failure was corrected. On another occasion, the contact became aware that there was fluid leaking from the vehicle. The contact examined the vehicle and notice that the windshield washer fluid was leaking from the washer fluid reservoir. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and was informed that the windshield washer fluid reservoir needed to be replaced. The contact was advised to contact the local dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the dealer. The failure mileage was 32,831.

Odometer reading more miles then driven (may have been tampered with altered) There is an electrical issue The computer required to be reprogrammed has not been done yet While driving the vehicle completely stop accelerating in the middle of traffic on the interstate placed my life in danger especially because traffic was moving rapidly the vehicle was jerking horribly also several codes came on when the service light came on also needed a pcp vale hose system they never repaired it i asked to have it repaired they agreed and then stated the vehicle had to many issues was sending to auction but yet reselling the vehicle still have not repaired completely this could be dangerous

There are lots of 2017 GLC 300 that has been having issues with PCV system that are malfunctioning that could cause engine failure. Customers are forced to spend $2000 plus to have this fixed rather than Mercedes owning its problem and fixing it. Intake and exhaust cam shaft and adjuster failure at 83,000 miles. Failure caused vehicle not to accelerate and stalled starts. Was on the highway when vehicle wouldn’t accelerate putting driver and others on road in danger. Repair on vehicle costing over $5k and MBUSA has no recourse due to vehicle being out of warranty. Per techs this issue should not happen to the engine.

One morning I was driving the GLC-300 about 45 mph, when suddenly the car went from 45mph to 0 in 3 seconds. The car stopped and it would not move forward. The car was towed to the Mercedes Benz dealership and it was discovered that front differential was broken. The car has 55k original miles and it's maintained very well. There was no warming light on the dashboard to indicate this problem. If the car was traveling at speed of 55 or 65 mph, it could have caused a catastrophe. This is very unusual for front differential to break. This needs to be investigated by NHTSA and I'm sure there are other customer that run into this issue. Since the car out of manufacture warranty, Mercedes Benz covered the cost of the part, but I had to pay for the labor which was a lot. The dealership admitted that it was unusual for the front differential to break specially for Mercez Benz car.

Collision prevention assist inoperative. Car at local Mercedes dealer. Told that a $317 software update was required to make system operative again. I do not understand how it is ethical for a corporation to alter their software, make a safety system inoperative, and the ask the customer to pay to make system operative again via a software update. Vent valve po52e71 - I have found thousands of the same issue with my car online. Mercedes covers this piece as an emission piece for Deisal Engine but not gas engines. This peice needs to be recalled and covered under emissions warranty asap.

2017 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 Coupe 27,700 miles. I was driving on MD I-95 when the Power Steering Malfunction warning light came on and I lost power steering. I got off the next exit. Steering was very difficult especially when the car slowed. The Mercedes Benz dealer is replacing the electronic steering power control unit, power steering motor and steering rack. Cost $4910. Mercedes Benz has had GLC 300 recalls for Power Steering Malfunction but not for my model year.

The Panoramic roof glass exploded suddenly. Throwing shattered glass pieces on the Highway and into the cabin of the car. No object or environmental conditions caused this incident. It just exploded while driving ~ 50mph
