Defect. Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles. The front power seat motor may overheat due to a stuck power seat slide knob or an improper recall 24V407 repair, which can result in a fire while parked or driving.

Risk. A fire increases the risk of injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will install an electronic fuse assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 13, 2026. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC374. This recall replaces NHTSA recall number 24V407. Vehicles already repaired under the previous recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 17, 2026.

Defect. Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2020-2024 Telluride vehicles. The intermediate shaft and right front driveshaft may not be fully engaged, which can result in vehicle roll away while in PARK.

Risk. A vehicle roll away increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Owners are advised to manually engage the emergency parking brake prior to exiting the vehicle until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will update the electronic parking brake software and replace any damaged intermediate shafts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 15, 2024. Defect. Kia America, Inc. (Kia) is recalling certain 2024 Telluride vehicles. The engine valve springs may break while driving, which can result in a loss of drive power and possibly create a hole in the engine block.

Risk. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. A hole in the engine block increases the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the engine sub-assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 5, 2024. Owners may contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542. Kia's number for this recall is SC296.

I was driving 70 mph on a clear unobstructed highway in the right lane, when suddenly my vehicle steering jerked forcefully to the right, over the white line and onto the rumble strips. A circular symbol popped up, on the display but it was too fast to identify while trying to make an immediate correction and recover control.

Driver cluster completely black when car is fully on and operational. Radio portion of digital dash works. But the critical safety driver cluster panel is completely black. Spedometer, fuel, etc all missing while car is in operation.

On October 21, 2026, the sunroof of my 2024 Kia Telluride suddenly shattered while I was driving at approximately 65 mph. The glass exploded unexpectedly during normal vehicle operation. The sunroof was in the tilted position with the sun shade pulled back completely. The glass shattered on the top of my head as I was driving. My two small children seated in the second row were also present. The cause of the failure is unknown. I took the vehicle to an authorized Kia dealership, where personnel photographed the damage, vacuumed some of the broken glass from the vehicle, and applied temporary crash wrap over the damaged sunroof. The service invoice documents that the sunroof exploded while driving. However, no comprehensive safety inspection was performed or documented to my knowledge. Dealership personnel verbally stated that the vehicle was safe to drive with the temporary covering and instructed me not to open the sunshade. However, they would not provide written confirmation that the vehicle was safe to operate. Despite the temporary repair, I continued hearing glass shifting and breaking while driving. I am concerned about additional glass falling, the integrity of the damaged sunroof, and the safety of vehicle occupants. On October 22, 2026, the dealership informed me that Kia had authorized replacement of the sunroof and that the replacement part was expected the following week. Vehicle: 2024 Kia Telluride Current Mileage: Approximately 72,000 miles Dealership: Colonial Kia, Chester, Virginia Recall: Kia SC347 / SC347A — Exterior Door Belt Molding NHTSA Recall Number: 25V494000 Description of Safety Problem I purchased my used 2024 Kia Telluride from Colonial Kia in Chester, Virginia, in June 2025. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced repeated failures of the exterior door window molding. On two separate occasions, pieces of molding completely detached from my vehicle while I was driving at highway speeds. The first incident occurred before Kia performed the door molding safety recall. The second incident occurred after recall work had already been completed. My dealership, Colonial Kia, has performed repairs related to this problem. My repair invoice dated January 6, 2026, specifically documents that the driver's front door molding failed shortly after Recall SC347A had been performed. A second repair invoice dated April 16, 2026, documents replacement of the passenger-side rear door molding. Now, in October 2026, the front passenger door molding is beginning to loosen, creating concern that another piece may detach while the vehicle is being driven. I am concerned that the recall remedy has not adequately corrected this safety defect on my vehicle. Display gets very hot to the touch , even in 70° or lower weather. Vehicle is kept garaged. Seems hotter behind steering wheel than the home screen/radio side. Trim is not hot. We usually use a sun screen. We do not usually use built-in navigation, real-time traffic, or phone charging. Seems to be a potential fire risk. Internet info suggests that the manufacturer is aware of the problem but no recall. Not sure how long this has been going on. Happens when/after driving.

The digital instrument panel cluster went completely black and dead upon vehicle startup, leaving me with zero visibility of my speedometer, safety alerts, or fuel levels while trying to operate the vehicle. Even with completing a short drive, turning off the car for a few minutes and turning it back on, the instrument panel was completely black (3 restarts in an hour period). Approximate mileage of 38,000. I took it to University Kia in Waco, TX who stated that 3-4 other vehicles of various models came in with the same issue recently. They are keeping the vehicle for repairs under the warranty.

While driving the vehicle on the highway attempting to pass a vehicle at 75 mph the car unexpectedly shut completely off. We had to swerve between 2 vehicles narrowly avoiding an accident and the car would not turn back on. Towed to Kia dealership and was told it was simply a sensor that "talks" to the key fob which caused the car to shut off without warning. Dealership claimed it was fixed but there was no warning lights or notice of the failure. Since the dealership "fixed" the issue now the car is continuously running a check engine failure code and now the dealership claims it's the catalytic converters failing and needing to be replaced. Vehicle was inspected by the Kia dealership that it was purchased from.

I was driving down the highway and heard a loud pop. I looked at my windshield and did not see any cracks. I looked at the back windshield and could see pieces coming down. I didn't know what it was still and could hear air coming from somewhere in my car. I open the screen to my sunroof and there was a hole and shattered glass. There were no large trucks around. There were a couple of cars but they were to the right side of my car, two lanes over. Nothing hit my sunroof. The glass exploded. It was Sept 22nd at 9:30am. I looked it up online and this is a common problem with Kia Tellurides. I contacted Gay Family Kia and they would not replace it. They contacted Kia manufacture and they would not cover it. The maintenance person at Gay Family Kia looked at it and took a picture when he submitted it to Kia. There were no warning signals. I think the heat that is trapped between the glass and screen of the sunroof cause this. There needs to be a protective film on there. I tried to upload a photo but it would not proceed with it. It was a small file and a jpg. It is going to cost abt $900 to replace. I am getting it done Saturday so I don't have an invoice yet.

While driving the vehicle on the highway, as I was exiting the off ramp, when applying the brake pedal it completely failed and went to the floor with no stopping. I rapidly began pumping the brake pedal and slowly the brakes began to work in time to stop at the bottom of the off ramp. The vehicle then displayed an error: “ I have a Kia 2024 telluride EX. as we were driving the brakes suddenly went out and recovered enough to stop. now when starting the car it comes up with an error “Downhill brake control disabled. control vehicle speed”. We contacted KIa warranty and had the vehicle towed to the dealer.

I purchased my CYBEX Callisto G 360 on April 26, 2025. The harness does not stay tight: after I pull the adjuster strap to tighten it and let go, I can pull on the shoulder straps and they loosen again without pressing the harness release button. I’m concerned the harness adjuster is not holding the restraint securely, so I have stopped using the seat. It's extremely dangerous for this component to be failing.

I hear rattling/loud squeaking coming from liftgate rear door internally when driving. It has been noticed since purchasing the vehicle new.

The local dealer was contacted and stated that the recall repairs would not be performed. No reasons were given for why the recall repairs would not be performed. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

On August 3, 2026, while operating my 2024 Kia Telluride, I experienced a catastrophic and total failure of the service braking system. Without warning, the brake pedal went straight to the floorboard with zero hydraulic pressure or stopping power, resulting in a crash into trees. ​The vehicle was towed to Gerber Collision for accident repairs. While the exterior body damage was repaired, the body shop is not equipped for internal hydraulic or component failure analysis. Furthermore, Kia America has been notified of this critical safety defect but is refusing to cover the diagnostic/inspection fees to investigate the underlying root cause under warranty, attempting to pass the cost onto the consumer. ​This is a severe, life-threatening safety defect involving a total loss of brakes on a nearly new vehicle. I request that NHTSA log this complaint and investigate potential systemic hydraulic or master cylinder defects in the 2024 Kia Telluride platform.

The cluster screen on my 2024 Telluride is BLACK when I turned it on today. No issues prior and turning the car off and on does not help. I cannot see my fuel gauge, speed, winshield wiper speed, tire air levels, what gear I am in nothing. I contacted dealer and they have heard of no issues and cannot get me in for repairs until at least two weeks. I feel this is very unsafe since I am not sure of my speed or my fuel level! There was no warning whatsoever, just a black screen.

I am submitting this complaint regarding a serious safety concern involving my Kia Telluride and the recalled front power seat motor/fire hazard. We are parents of three children, and this vehicle is used to transport our family. We are extremely concerned about the potential for a vehicle fire caused by the defective seat motor and the fact that the issue has not been adequately remedied. Kia has previously issued a recall addressing the potential for the front power seat motor to overheat, melt, and potentially cause a fire. Despite the previous recall and attempted remedy, Kia has now issued another recall concerning the same or substantially similar safety issue. This raises serious concerns regarding the effectiveness of the original remedy and whether affected vehicles were actually made safe after the initial recall repair. According to information from NHTSA, vehicles affected by this issue have experienced incidents involving melted seat motors and seat fires. NHTSA has also advised owners of affected vehicles to park outside and away from structures because of the potential fire risk. As parents of three children, we find this particularly alarming. A vehicle fire is an extremely serious safety hazard, and the possibility of a fire developing in or around the seating area presents an unacceptable risk to our family. Driving and brakes malfunctioned and would not stop causing an accident into a tree

SUBJECT: SAFETY RECALL DENIAL APPEAL: Pinched Seat Harness Fire Hazard - 2024 Kia Telluride VIN: [XXX] KIA case #:XXX TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I am filing an urgent safety appeal regarding a refusal by my local dealership to repair a severe fire hazard on my 2024 Kia Telluride. This vehicle is experiencing the exact failure mode detailed in federal safety recalls regarding the front passenger power seat wiring. The dealership has denied coverage by claiming rodent damage. However, the official photograph provided to me by the dealership’s own service department completely disproves the claim and confirms a manufacturing/design defect: 1. CLEAR MECHANICAL FLATTENING: The first wire in the harness is severely flattened and shows distinct mechanical abrasion and rubbing marks across its surface. On XXX, while driving my 2024 Kia Telluride (VIN: [XXX]) with approximately 34,000 miles, the vehicle suddenly experienced a complete electrical failure without warning. The instrument cluster went completely black, I lost electric power steering assist, the transmission would not shift, and the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle lost motive power while I was driving, creating a significant safety hazard for me and surrounding traffic. After bringing the vehicle to a stop, it would not restart. The vehicle had to be towed to Dutch Miller Kia for diagnosis and repair. The vehicle is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty. It has been at the dealership since XXX, awaiting diagnosis and repair. As of the date of this complaint, I have not been provided with a loaner vehicle or alternate transportation. I am filing this complaint because a complete loss of electrical power, steering assist, acceleration, and shifting while the vehicle is in operation presents a serious safety risk. Component Malfunction & Availability The component that failed is the center infotainment and entertainment touchscreen display system on a 2024 Kia Telluride. The center screen goes completely black, remains unresponsive to touch or power controls, and fails to initialize upon starting the vehicle. It does not respond to soft pinhole hardware resets. This is a recurring failure; the original factory entertainment screen suffered a total blackout defect and was replaced under manufacturer warranty, but the replacement OEM unit suffered an identical total failure just seven months later. The vehicle and the defective infotainment assembly are fully available for inspection upon request. My vehicle has been burning at least 1 quart of oil each month. There are no leaks on the ground.

The vehicle has 38000 miles now. At about 34000 miles I began to notice a slight rumble from the read end of the car when starting from a stop and making a turn. It has become more noticeable recently. It is only noticeble from a stop and below about 10 mph.After doing some searches online, I have learned that this is a common problem with the Telluride and is due to the AWD coupling. I have not yet scheduled a service appointment, but will do so today. One discussion forum suggested that a report be made to this site since there are no recalls on this part at this time.

Safety Complaint I am submitting this complaint regarding a recurring fuel gauge malfunction on my 2024 Kia Telluride. On XXX, the vehicle unexpectedly displayed a warning indicating that the fuel tank was empty and that refueling was immediately required. At the time of the warning, there was still a substantial amount of fuel remaining in the tank, and the vehicle had not been driven long enough to reasonably consume the displayed amount of fuel. After adding approximately one gallon of gasoline, the fuel gauge immediately returned to a normal reading, indicating that the vehicle had not actually been out of fuel. This strongly suggests that the fuel level indication system or fuel level sensor is intermittently malfunctioning. Since the initial occurrence, this problem has happened three separate times under similar driving conditions. The issue appears intermittently without warning and cannot be predicted by the driver. On XXX, while the vehicle was still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, I brought the vehicle to Cerritos Kia in [XXX] for diagnosis. I provided the dealership with video recordings clearly showing the instrument cluster displaying the false empty fuel warning. Despite reviewing the video evidence, the dealership refused to perform any repair because no warning lights or diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were present at the time of inspection. I was told to return only if the condition occurred again. No corrective action was taken while the vehicle

The contact stated that the engine warning light was illuminated and the message “Engine Failure – Shift to Park or Neutral” was displayed. The dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The failure was a recurring failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 31,000.

Component - Rear Passenger Window spontaneously failed while traveling on an interstate. We suddenly heard a loud pop and then our rear passenger window shattered without warning. There was no vehicle immediately to the right of us us and nothing struck the window. We were put at risk with this sudden unexplained occurrence as we were driving on the highway at speed. Luckily, we didn't react erratically but could have. We had to pull off to the side of the road on a very busy interstate to figure out what happened. Additionally, we were fortunate that no one was in the back seat as that could have also resulted in injury if someone was sitting there. The manufacturer and dealerships have noted the incident and problem but have not claimed there is any issues. Although the dealership we had the repair done at has seen similar issues with sunroofs with this car type. In researching, we have seen that there are some class action investigations involving these types of window failure in 2020 - 2025 models (noted as rear windows and sunroofs in the investigations). We did have immediate repair of the window through a manufacturer dealership.

The dash screen has gone out at random times. Currently there is not TSB or any acknowledgement from Kia about this safety issue. Their dealers service department doesn't know what to do and aren't admitting there is a problem. The only fix from customers online was that Kia replaced the entire gauge cluster which is a massive expense to Kia. The consumers are suffering because of this and Kia is not taking responsibility. They need to start a recall campaign or at minimum introduce a TSB so that Kia service departments know what is needed to fix this issue.

Cluster that shows speed/gas/safety notifications has went completely black and will not turn back on. It has now been in the shop for 2 weeks and they cannot figure out why this is happening. This is the second time the instrument cluster has went out on the 2024 Kia Telluride.

The tire separated after only 20k miles. Mechanic stated that I still had half of the tires life left. Was advised not to drive more than a mile on it as it could blow out and cause harm to myself and 2 young children. I had two new tires put on the vehicle. My mechanic will be checking the two remaining at every oil change I have in the future. There was no warning, my vehicle started violently shaking and veering heavily to the right, so much I had to fight it with both hands. Kumho (tire manufacturer) has ignored my calls and emails. Kia told me they cannot help me and to reach out to Kumho.

Jan 2026 I was driving into my workplace that is an inclined driveway. Released pressure from gas pedal and telluride began accelerating despite release of gas pedal. I ended up going through the building and lots of damage to both vehicle and building. After it was repaired there were two more instances this happened once while in a parking lot and at a slow speed. Vehicle has been at dealership since March and is in an active case due to kia saying they found nothing wrong with it although it is unsafe to drive

While driving the LCD screens would go blank intermittently. Sometimes staying off for 30 secs or more. I could still hear sound and could control volume. This has happened on two different occasions while traveling to work. I have a 35 minute commute on interstate highways.

The car seat styrofoam has detached from car seat and was previously held down by GLUE. The styrofoam has detached from shell that was previously attached by glue. Car seat was used previously for 6 months from October 2024 to April 2025 then stored in proper areas to prevent damage.

I was operating a 2024 Kia Telluride and was fully stopped in traffic when my vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. Immediately after the impact, my vehicle experienced apparent unintended forward propulsion/movement despite my braking attempts. Following the collision, the vehicle continued moving/driving forward for approximately 20 seconds and did not respond normally to brake input. The behavior created a loss-of-control situation and significantly increased the risk of secondary collisions, injury to vehicle occupants, nearby motorists, and pedestrians. I was unable to immediately stop the vehicle despite attempting to do so. The exact failed component has not yet been definitively identified; however, the incident appears potentially related to malfunction or unintended operation of one or more of the following systems: * drivetrain/transmission engagement, * electronic throttle control, * braking system, * powertrain control module, * or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The vehicle should be inspected for: * Event Data Recorder (EDR) data, * diagnostic trouble codes, * throttle/brake command activity, * drivetrain engagement data, * and post-collision electronic system behavior. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. At this time, the issue has not yet been reproduced intentionally. Multiple door belt molding trims from two doors on my 2024 Kia Telluride detached from the vehicle, which is the subject of safety recall SC347 (NHTSA 25V494). The detached trim piece falls onto the roadway while driving, creating a road hazard for other vehicles and increasing the risk of a crash. The defect was confirmed by a Kia dealership, which documented the issue and acknowledged it falls under the active safety recall. I first brought the vehicle to the dealer on February 10, 2026 to have the recall repair performed. The dealer informed me the replacement parts are on backorder and didn’t provide or recommend a temporary rental. As of today, May 11, 2026 — over three months later — the repair has not been completed and no estimated completion date has been given. I have called back to ask the parts department at my service center for an ETA but they are only able to tell me that the replacement parts are still on back order. The failed component is the exterior door belt molding face plate, which is available for inspection at the dealership. Prior to full detachment, symptoms included the trim appearing visually loose and producing rattling and wind noise. My safety concern is that I am being forced to drive an unrepaired vehicle with a known safety defect because Kia has failed to supply adequate parts to complete this federally mandated recall repair in a timely manner.

Dashboard display is black. Therefore, the odometer and speedometer are not visible. I cannot tell how fast I’m driving which is unsafe. I called the Naperville and Elmhurst locations and they did not deem the issue a priority to diagnose today.

Brakes weren’t working when trying to stop. Loud noise, braking pedals vibrated, when pushing down to attempt to break the brakes got soft, the steering wheel started to shake. Emergency parking lights and ASB lights on the dashboard came on. The vehicle was towed to the dealership and was unable to find the problem. They did a brake fluid exchange. Video of my driveway was provided to the dealership from this incident. Gear corporation was also contacted letting them know of the safety concerns I had. Third row and front passenger seatbelts not buckling.

I was notified of a recall on my vehicle related to door trim. I contacted my authorized Kia dealership to have the recall repaired and was told the required parts are unavailable, with no estimated timeline for resolution. I have been on a waitlist for over one year with no update. The unrepaired defect causes excessive noise that makes the vehicle unsafe and unsuitable for highway travel. I have submitted a formal demand letter to Kia America requesting either expedited repair, a vehicle buyback, or compensation for damages — and have received no response after 17 days.

The information cluster behind the steering wheel is not turning on. Started all of a sudden. Can’t show speed, none of the advance driving features are working , and not showing gas level.

I have been waiting for KIA to repair this recall for over 4 weeks. The local dealership states that the part is on backorder and hasn't arrived yet.

The Kia has an active recall sc347a because the side pieces can fall off. Two of ours already have, one of which flew off of our car and was definitely a hazard when it happened. Kia South Atlanta , 7310 Jonesboro road Morrow Road has repeatedly refused to fix it and have made it clear they have no plans to ever fix it despite the recall.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally complain about an ongoing issue with my 2024 Kia Telluride, which has experienced four separate windshield cracks in a little over two years of ownership. This frequency is excessive and well beyond what I would consider normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this class and price point. Each incident occurred during routine driving conditions, such as normal highway or city travel. In all cases, the impacts involved very small rocks or road debris, not large objects, construction hazards, or extreme driving situations. These are conditions that most vehicles encounter regularly without sustaining immediate windshield damage. The repeated cracking raises serious concerns about the durability, thickness, or overall quality of the windshield glass used in the Telluride. Having to repair or replace a windshield this often is both inconvenient and costly, and it undermines confidence in the vehicle’s design and materials. A windshield should be able to withstand minor impacts from small debris without cracking so easily. I chose the Kia Telluride based on its reputation for safety, quality, and reliability. However, this recurring issue has been frustrating and disappointing, especially given the relatively short ownership period and normal driving conditions involved. I bought my 2024 Kia Telluride new and have been trying to get Kia to update the navigation system maps since I bought it. The maps and driving/turning instructions provided by their navigation systems are currently (and have been) out-of-date causing a significant safety risk for anyone driving Kia vehicles with these an non-updated maps. A prime example which is becoming more and more prevalent is where cities have completed changed major intersections (many adjacent to interstate highways) whereby they reversed the flow of traffic completely opposite of normal traffic flow. Although I have found these changes to be many places along the east coast, 2 local examples for me are the intersections of 1) [XXX] where is crosses [XXX] and 2) [XXX] where it crosses [XXX] Sarasota. Since both of these [XXX] exits in FL now have reversed traffic flows immediately after exiting this major highway (which is counter-intuitive to begin with), Kia's nav system is warning you that you are going in the wrong direction and telling you to turn head-on into oncoming traffic. For 2 years since I've been attempting to get Kia's attention on this matter, their response has consistently been (from their customer service dept, dealer and website which provides the updates) that the updates are currently unavailable and to continue to check back for updates. The contact owns a 2024 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that while attempting to enter the vehicle, it was discovered that the doors failed to open electronically while using the key fob. While attempting to use the key to manually unlock the doors, the contact was unable to unlock the doors. The contact indicated that the hatch back door also failed to open. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,000.

The contact owns a 2024 Kia Telluride. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V494000 (STRUCTURE); and then received notification that the remedy was available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer informed the contact that the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Dashboard / cluster screen went completely black on two separate occasions while driving.

See attached document for complaint. My trim is falling off my kia. I called Kia pursuant to the enclosed recall and I was told there is no remedy yet. Are you kidding. Glue! This is not rocket science. I went to my Kia dealer and they merely stuck the trim back on and it flaps in the wind. Very dangerous! Must someone be killed by the debris? Also the value of the vehicle for resale plummets. It looks terrible with rubber exposed and rubber is falling off. Do something or sue Kia as a class action for refund on all vehicles affected.

We were driving on interstate at 70 mph. It was sunny and 45 degrees outside. Suddenly with no warning, our front sunroof glass exploded. The bang was so loud that my ear was ringing hours after. Fortunately no car was following closely so no other vehicle was hit with flying debris. Also, our interior visor was closed so we were not struck by any of the flying glass. We pulled off and removed any loose glass that could fly off and proceeded to the dealership. They were submitting warranty information, etc. and provided a rental while we await the repairs. They did mention they had seen this before in a case where the visor was not closed and glass poured into the cabin and implied that it was a worse case than ours.
