Defect. Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.

Risk. Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. Risk. A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash, and a vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. Dealers will install a software update and replace the block or engine as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 7, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 78C. Risk. A vehicle fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.

Remedy. This recall is replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V741. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures, and not to recharge their vehicles until they are repaired. Dealers will update the high voltage battery pack software and replace the battery pack assembly, if necessary, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed October 11, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 2024. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 95B. Vehicles in this recall that were previously recalled for the same issue under NHTSA Recall 23V-787 will need to have the new remedy performed.

GoodYear 265/60R18, Morning NHTSA, i had these 4 tires inspected by good year, the 4xe trailhawk has 28,000 miles but the tires are very low because of the wait of the phev it slides it very harder to stop because the traction is so bad, sometimes i feel like i have a pickup truck with no because it slips so much is can be a little sand or not level road. To me its very un safe because these are not EV tires, these tires should be on the conventional suv what there are really made for, at low speed its bad.

On multiple occasions my 2024 Grand Cherokee 4XE will flash "Service Hybrid System" and cut out while driving. Brakes, steering, and other functions are severely limited on these occurences. I have brought this issue up with the Jeep dealership every time the incident happens and they always ask if there are any lights on. No lights stay on, the engine and all systems just cut out. Tried contacting Jeep corporate help line and never get anywhere with them. I would like to turn the vehicle in, but they will not allow me to do so as they can never seem to find anything wrong with it, since it shows no codes.

The vehicle lights up a red wrench with a lightning bolt through it and then alerts to a "service hybrid electric vehicle system" message. This light stays on from either a few seconds to several minuets before turning off. There is no consistency as to when the warning illuminates. Every time it has come on has been at highway speeds. There is fear that the vehicle is going to lose power and/or propulsion while at a high speed. This feels like a danger to myself, my occupants, and others on the road.

Vehicle shut down completely while in the left lane of the highway. Thankfully she was able to maneuver it to the shoulder and started it back up and continued on. At 4 AM. Another four days later, the Jeep failed to start in the parking lot of work. Threw every code, including the "red wrench"- service hybrid electric vehicle system, check engine light and other others. We abandoned it in the parking lot and checked the next morning. It started on a whim still with every light on. We were able to get it to the dealership where it has been since January 24. When we went to pick it up today, they told us it was ready to go and it road tested good with no lights on. When we got in it to leave, the red wrench and check engine light went back on. They don't know what the problem is. This was replicated by the dealership and the invoice states: "Vehicle will not move. Pushed into shop".

Since leasing my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe in July 2023, I’ve encountered severe and ongoing safety, quality, and performance issues that remain unresolved despite multiple service visits and direct contact with Chrysler customer care. The vehicle has consistently proven unreliable and unsafe, posing risks to my family and others. Key safety concerns include: Trunk Liftgate Malfunction: The liftgate closes on its own, even with foot control disabled, failing to stop when obstructed, causing injuries to my [XXX] son and me. Proximity Sensor Failures: The sensors randomly lock the brakes with no obstacles and fail to warn of actual hazards. Steering Wheel Adjustment Failure: The steering wheel became stuck in the highest position and couldn’t be readjusted. Gear Shifting Issues: In eSave mode, gears fail to shift above 40 mph, and at times, the vehicle won’t shift out of park without multiple restarts. Defective Environmental Controls: The heater once failed during a 20°F drive, blowing only cold air for nearly two hours. Electronic Malfunctions: Random driver profile resets, faulty tire pressure sensors, unreliable remote start, Bluetooth/auxiliary port failures, and phantom Bluetooth devices. These issues put my family in direct harm and have not been resolved despite dealer inspections. Warning lights, alerts, and system failures occur intermittently, often without prior notice. I have extensive documentation, videos, and service records confirming these ongoing issues. G

Major warning lights appeared on dash. Vehicle began presenting messages stating to service vehicle systems. Power steering, traction control, and emergency braking were among those listed. Vehicle was at a 60% state of charge with 95% fuel. Engine ran, but other major vehicle systems would not engage. Attempted to reverse the vehicle to see if it would move and it accelerated abnormally fast in reverse. The vehicle stated hybrid mode and ready, but was not in an operable state. The issue persisted between restarts and idling sessions.

On February 10, 2025 at approximately 4:45 EST, I was driving approximately 55MPH in the far left lane of a multi-lane highway when I received a notice that my hybrid propulsion system had malfunctioned. Upon receiving the notice, I immediately lost power/propulsion of my vehicle although the warning notice disappeared and the screen made it appear that the vehicle was operating. As I pressed the gas pedal, I noted that there was no power being provided to the powertrain and I had to progressively move to the right to find a safe spot to stop. Upon stopping, the warning re-appeared and informed me to put the car in park and turn it off and restart the vehicle. At the time of failure, the battery had a remaining charge of 10% and 3/4 tank of gas. Upon restart, the vehicle functioned as normal using the gasoline powered engine. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk due to the loss of power in an area where most vehicles were operating near 55 MPH. The computer warning about the malfunction was confusing and it disappeared relatively quickly leading to significant confusion about how to operate the vehicle especially given that the dashboard returned to a normal state. The problem has not yet been reported to a dealer as they were closed for service. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to the failure other than the short warning that appeared at the start of the loss of power and referenced above.

I was driving on a local road going 35-40 mph, when SUV shut off (no power). I maneuvered to the shoulder, and tried to restart, which it did. The hybrid was near the end of the charged battery mode, when this happened. I purchase the Grand Cherokee 4XE (new) in May 2024, and recently had the battery replaced due to a safety recall. This is the first time I lost power while driving. The car has been at the dealer’s for two days, and they have not found the problem. There was no error code, and they could not replicate the loss of power.

I HAVE AN ON GOING UNREPAIRED RECALL ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, CHARGING SYSTEM AND POSSIBLY THE BATTERY. WHEN APPLY THE BRAKE TO START MY JEEP THE BRAKES SOMETIMES ARE LOCKED UP AND I HAVE TO PUSH THE START BUTTON A FEW TIMES TO RELEASE THEM. I WAS TOLD THAT WAS NORMAL AT THE DEALERSHIP.

I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe with approx 15,600 miles.I had just finished pumping gas and started the vehicle. Put vehicle in drive and noticed the steering wheel would not turn. Turned car off and on and still nothing. Tried again this time power steering had returned. The check engine light is now on. Drove car home. Called dealership next morning and was told couldn’t get car in for three weeks. I feel this car is unsafe to drive!

The vehicle has no heating, I’ve taken the vehicle multiple times to the dealership From September 2024 and to date January 2025, the vehicle has been in the dealership since December, multiple attempts has been made to fix the heating system including replacing parts one of them being a valve. Vehicle is still not working after replacement of parts, the engineering company called “Star Engineering” are involved at this point and they are still continuing to fix the car. The electrical component of this car is not working properly. This car is only 1 year old and it is a hybrid 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee purchased brand new. In 2023 after 2 weeks of leading this vehicle, the cars steering wheel froze and I was unable to drive it, I had to get the vehicle towed to the dealership. This is a major safety issue especially if you have children in the car, at the time I had my [XXX] in the vehicle, unable to drive it. Recently, temperatures have dropped significantly in November here in Massachusetts, and I had to drive with my toddler with no heat, in freezing temperatures and cover my child with a blanket. I was told by the dealership service staff that I needed to clean my car so the heat can work, after vacuuming my car I dropped it off again December and showed them for the 5th time that the car is blowing cold air, while the heating temperature is max and “hot”. In November, on a random day I arrived home and the car engine did not want to turn off after pressing the “off” butt

My vehicle has two issues. One is the heating/cooling components. The car requires the heat to be set at above 75 to obtain any heat, most often it blows very cool or even cold air. It has been in the shop several times, for days at a time with no fix. Picked it up yesterday, they had it set at 77, blew cold air on the drive home, approx. 5 miles. The second and most alarming issue is the 95B recall for Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have had no vehicle for 3.5 months following the recall. Although it did not state no driving, I have felt unsafe doing so. I have had to park in my drive, less than 20 feet from my own home and others while it could take fire even while parked. 1/2/24 I had the prescribed 'fix', a computer reset with no battery replacement warranted. My vehicle has had two battery recalls and one other incident wherein it just completely stopped working. I am no longer able to transport my grand children whose carseats sit over the defective battery. I have had to cease running parts for our self owned business. I have had to pay for a vehicle to drive including gas I would not have needed to purchase. The dealership where purchased would not keep the vehicle on its lot during the recall, they would not provide an alternate vehicle therefore I have lost valuable work and family time due to safety of the car. My 2023 hybrid Jeep Grand Cherokee had a safety recall issued 9/27/24 (B9A NHTSA 23v-787) due to the high voltage battery pack risking fire. The recall advises not to charge the car until the recall repair is completed. This essentially makes my vehicle 1/2 operational for the past 2 months. I have called the FCA Recall assistance Center on 11/22, 11/27 and 12/3. Each time I have called I have been assured that a "case manager" would call me to address my concerns but have yet to receive any call or email. It is unacceptable that FCA can sell me a hybrid car that can only operate on gas for over two months with no projected date when repairs can be completed. Additionally, they refuse to address my concerns when contacted

95B recall for fire hazard and told to park aware from structures and outdoors. I have to park in a parking garage. I have contacted Jeep multiple times about breaking a lease with no avail.

I have been unable to use the vehicle for its intended purpose for over 60+ days due to this unresolved high risk issue. While driving this 4xe (hybrid) the vehicle thinks that it has been plugged in to charge and will momentarily shut down, no brake lights, no warning. ours has been in the shop for almost three months waiting for a fix. On three occasions we were told it was working as designed and sent down the road. Thankfully we were in no accidents but had seven close calls. it happens every time you drive it. There is no root cause, no parts, no firm timeline and I the manufacturer has been unresponsive. Initial contact was 10/31, and I have not yet received any follow-up from them (though I have contacted them proactively 3+ times). This is a leased vehicle with 13K miles and the dealer is not helpful, the manufacturer is not helpful, and quite frankly this level of concern is unnerving, and escalated in terms of anxiety and fear for what 'could or might happen'. To top it off not only do we have one of these vehicles, but two of them, both impacted.

Manufacturer issued a fire risk recall but doesn’t have a way to fix it. I am unable to let my small children ride in this vehicle because they can’t let themselves out. How long does a manufacturer have to rectify an issue like this?

On 11/9/24 the vehicle began emitting a burning odor from the hvac air vents. The vehicle was charged to 100% and was driven for about an hour before the burning smell began. The vehicle is available for inspection. The safety of myself and others around me are put at risk, due to the possibilty of a vehicle fire due to the 95B recall. The problem has been reproduced when I drive the vehicle after an hour, of a full charge. The vehicle is being taken to a dealership. There were no warning messages when the burning smell began. Dealer states they are unable to reproduce the burning smell, and that there is no remedy available for the battery recall 95B. In addition dealer states, there is no remedy available to request a replacement battery from Stellantis prior to the 95B software update being released first. I feel there is a risk of injury, death and damage to property due to the vehicle producing a burning smell, when on a full charge.

Jeep cannot tell us when a test will be available to check the EV battery for us. They have no clue when a remedy will be available for this situation. This is unacceptable. They say drive with gas. This car always has some type of electrical charge even without hooking up to charge it. The system creates a charge to the braking system. It always has a small electrical charge so there is a risk of fire in this situation if we have bad battery cells. They are putting people at risk and need to be investigated. Jeep 4xe owners need to be assisted with tests now and repairs now or we need to have our leases and cars bought back. If these were faulty appliances or store bought products they would be returnable.

I am experiencing 2 issues with the vehicle. 1. I am not sure exactly which component is affected, but on several occasions I have had the car essentially stop responding WHILE I"M DRIVING. While driving on the highway, the car somehow loses response, I don't know any other way to describe it. It's almost like the car switches to Neutral, but the gear indicator still says it's in Drive. Pressing the gas pedal does nothing, the car just continues to glide along, steadily slowing. On these occasions I have had to pull over to the breakdown lane, nothing in the car responds, changing the gear does nothing, I have to shut the car off to kind of reset it. After a few minutes you can turn the car back on and it runs fine. 2. The display screen for controls, radio, etc... is black. The dealership tells me this is a widespread issue and the replacement radio units are not available. This has been going on for 3 months. No back up camera, no phone connection, no control over the display, nothing. I can't see the temperature or the mode beyond the actual buttons on the dash. At one point the dealership advised that they had received a radio and after waiting all day to get it back they told me it was dead in the box and they have no ETA on another one. During the first troubleshoot for the radio, the car was returned to me stuck in Spanish or Portuguese and they have not been able to get it out of that mode. On 10/10/2024, my Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (hybrid) had a battery fire at my home. Luckily, the fire department got it controlled before any additional property or any people were harmed, but under slightly different circumstances (middle of the night or parked in the garage) the house would have burned and my entire family could have been killed. After this incident, I read that Jeep/Stallantis issued a recall for this issue 10/1, but no timely attempt to contact owners was made. The guidance is that these vehicles should not be charged and should not be parked near buildings. Knowing this could have prevented this and any other similar fires, but I did not receive notification of the recall until 10/21 by mail. I receive emails from Jeep/Mopar weekly for useless information such as extended warrantees, so immediate notification should be simple. In fact I even made an appointment for an oil change on the same day as the fire and after a search for recalls, I was given NO information about this. Jeep is now investigating the incident, but Stellantis will not provide me additional information and this process may take months. I am now paying out of pocket for a rental car and still must pay the loan for a car that is totaled. Stellantis should be providing a car in the meantime and replacing my car (in a non hybrid model) as soon as possible, but no one has even contacted me to make sure everyone is ok. They should also be notifying owners affected by the recall by every means

On 1/31/24, while merging onto a highway(approx 45 mph), I accelerated into the lane in front of a truck. As I pressed the gas pedal nothing happened. The engine did not rev and I did not accelerate. I swerved on to the shoulder and coasted for several hundred feet and came to a stop. I put the car in park, turned off the vehicle and restarted it. Operated normally after that. The second instance of loss of motive power was on 3/11/24. Turning right on a residential street (approx 15 mph), the car demonstrated the exact same issue. In both cases no warning lights or messages came up, and the 'fix' was the same. Starting approximately 6/15/24 the vehicle began displaying the message "Electric Mode Temporarily Unavailable" while driving. I would experience a loss of motive power temporarily, coast for 5-10 seconds, the vehicle would switch to 'gas mode' and the combustion engine would take over.This happened between 15-20 times over the following 2 months. I was told by the dealership they couldn't do anything about it unless I had video or picture proof of the issue. I obtained both and was told the dealership would no longer take my vehicle in for repairs, only scheduled maintenance. The videos I have are over the size limit however I will include a pic of the dashboard when it happens. I have multiple videos and pictures as well if needed.

The recall notice list a serious risk (fire) to passengers or other cars and structures. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. I have contacted the dealer three times to get update regards this recall and how to remedy the risk, but every time I am told that a service adviser would contact me, without any update. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no
