The Monocular front window camera in 2018-2023 Honda's (odyssey, ridgline, pilot...) fails. This front window camera controls the following safety features: -Lane Keep Assist (LKAS) -Collision Mitigation -Adaptive Cruise control -Lane Departure Mitigation -Rain sensor windshield wipes -Auto High beam -Automatic Emergency Breaking In addition to compromising these safety features when the camera fails, false warnings are repeatedly provided on the dash of the Vehicle, sometimes in a singular and sometimes in a cyclic manner that you cannot get to shut off while driving. In addition to the cyclic visual warnings that cannot be turned off sometimes, the system repetitively beeps through the cycle of Erros/warnings. I thought I was the only one with this issue, but my research has revealed Hundreds of complaints over the last year. [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Honda told me they are unaware that this is a common issue, and it is $1800 to fix. The LKAS, ACC, Collision Avoidance, and Auto High Beam has failed on my 2019 Honda Odyssey ex-l. These are all safety features taht no longer work on this vehicle for no apparent reason other than the system failed. It has not been confirmed by a service center, or been inspected by the agencies listed. There were no other warning lights present when the problem first began.
Front "camera"/sensor went out, this caused all of the errors to come up and ding repeatedly while driving at a high speed on the interstate. Honda says they won't cover however, this is a safety issue with lots of reports of the same issue in a quick Google search.
2019 Honda Odyssey recently started having these problems intermittently, about 50% of the time I start the car: ACC problem Collision Mitigation Problem Lake Keep Assist Problem Auto High Beam Problem It prevents the front collision mitigation from working.

While driving the vehicle it has lost ability to accelerate and it has stalled It is entirely due to the fuel pump issue on the previous recall and i have attempted to reach the dealer however they dont have the parts

A water leak has ruined TWO power liftgate control modules. The water leak probably comes from the roof or driver rear window welds. I replaced one module two months ago and the new one has also malfunctioned due to water intrusion. This causes the liftgate to be stuck open or closed and could potentially open when driving!
The issue I am experiencing is a power tailgate control module failure, specifically part# 74970-THR-A12. The part is located on the driver side rear, and the issue appears to be due to a water leak coming between body seams and slowly dripping down into the module. Over time the water damage seeps into the control module casing and causes corrosion on the circuit board. This, then, renders the power tailgate inoperable. In my case, it just suddenly stopped working. A couple weeks, while the tailgate still did not work, I did receive a message saying "tailgate open" while I was driving. But, that issue went away on its own, and the tailgate didn't appear to actually be open. It is unclear if this type of electrical failure could also cause a tailgate to open unexpectedly while driving. Looking up this issue online, it appears that many other Odyssey owners have experienced the exact same issue (water leak and corrosion on control module). This should be considered for a recall given that so many drivers have experienced the exact same issues under the exact same circumstances. It seems like the issue could be solved by simply determine where the leak is occurring from. While my Odyssey is still under an extended warranty, the dealer charges to perform a diagnostic do not make it worthwhile for me to have them determine if it is covered, and I will choose to replace the part on my own. Below I have attached 4 photos showing my specific circuit board with water damage, plus the
Car surges when accelerating from a stop, I believe this happens when it is transitioning from 1st to 2nd gear under the automatic transmission. It feels like a hard shift. I brought this up to the dealership the following week after I bought the car CPO, but they said it was normal for the cvt transmission. Since then, I have just dealt with it and was extra careful with acceleration from a stop. It is a consistent issue that can be minimized by stepping on the accelerator very slowly. I bring this up again because my cousin was driving my car and said "this is undriveable" and he felt the lack of control in the low speed range due to this surge at around 15 mph could be unsafe in city and bumper to bumper driving.
Regarding NHTSA Number 24-022. I have called the dealership many times and everytime they kept saying they will contact me when the parts are available for the recalled item. I wonder if my acceleration surge at 15mph is related to this recall. I have received multiple emails and letter correspondence regarding this recall, but everytime I call, no Honda dealership seems to have the parts to fix this. I find it unacceptable that it has been almost a year since I heard about the recall and there still has not been a legitimate attempt to fix this issue. It's negligence and make me lose confidence in Honda. I've never had a recall item take so long before.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and briefly accelerated independently. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it could not be repaired due to parts not being available. The passenger sliding door does not open when it automatically opens. It doesn't matter which button you press to open the passenger sliding door, when it opens and slides back, it does not fully open and does not stay open. As it gets close to the rear, it makes the warning beeping sound then begins to close, causing it to be inoperable and not properly function as it's suppose to.
5 system warnings starting appearing simultaneously (Adaptive Crusise Control Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High-Beam Problem). This started a few months ago and occurs every time the car is started, and the errors do not go away after driving for several hours. I have checked all appropriate fuses, as well as the car battery and all seem fine. An internet forum search shows this specific issue is widespread with 2018-2020 Honda Odysseys, but is not being addressed satisfactorily by dealers.
We have had repeated incidents with the vehicle since late 2023. The vehicle begins to jump and a long and seemingly random list of dashboard indicators turns on. When we first sent the vehicle in for diagnosis they could not replicate the issue, dealt with a seatbelt related safety recall and "reset the computer". This decreased the incidence of the issue temporarily. All routine maintenance has been performed on the vehicle. The battery has been replaced twice because that was the best guess of what was causing the previous issue. A few months later, the issue started again. Random indicators, sometimes power steering, sometimes temperature gauge, sometimes othes lights in rapid succession. We again took the vehicle to dealership of purchase and they were unable to replicate the issue (and unable to deal with a fuel pump issue with a multi-month backlog for the part). Finally, while driving on the interstate today the vehicle began to lurch repeatedly and the random list of seemingly every indicator lit up again (see photo), including the power steering failing. The vehicle is completely inoperable and was towed to the dealership.
Transmission went out at 120,000 miles.
Trying to complete recall and they say they will not have the parts until the fall. We’ve already had one incident of power loss and do not feel safe in the car. Honda has provided no recourse or remedy in a timely manner.

Tailgate on 2019 Honda Odyssey model(s) without power lift gate function open to only a dangerously low height. Five undocumented head injuries have occured on a single vehicle within one year. Upon more research, tailgate height for these models have caused several head injuries some requiring medical attention. No warning labels or preventative equipment attached to the tailgate to warn of serious head injury. Honda dealership advised unable to adjust tailgate height.
On numerous occasions while driving, once you hit the gas to either pass someone on the interstate or pull out on a road, you lose drive power. It is like trying to drive while in neutral. I know there is a recall on this van and I went down to Hilton Head Honda today with my recall notice to have it replaced to avoid my wife having an accident due to this recall issue. Instead of replacing the part they are charging me $175.00 to clean the throttle due to sticking! This is ridiculous considering it isn't the issue. They are refusing to replace the fuel pump that Honda has deemed defective! The description on the recall is EXACTLY what we are experiencing and have been experiencing for the last 3 months! Having to spend money on a mute issue instead of doing what Honda is requiring is unacceptable and illegal! I am happy to fix any issue once they replace the faulty fuel pump. The bait and switch method may have worked for other owners but not for me! I would like them to do the right thing and fix it.

We were out side. My engine wouldn’t start and fuel pump and battery lights lit up on desk board. I asked for help and was able to jumpstart the car- I started driving with my kids in car seats and on freeway 7-8 minutes after starting car it went to Neutral while driving its own. And speed went down its own to 20 MPh from 60 on freeway. Was able to mange to mange to take nearest exit and go to nearest open parking lot. Where was not able to shut down the car or put it in the park. I called my insurance to tow my car. And also called family member. Who came and after locking and unlocking they were able to turn off the car. And also start the car. So stared car again this time it shows only “ engine light on and emission issues “ no battery sign. and and in 3 mins in the driving again went to Neutral again. Again we had to find emergency parking lot. Turned off the car and turned on again. And then drove to home with 20 MPH. As soon as speed goes up it goes to neutral. I tried to drive to Bell Honda dealer to drop off my car and again went to neutral so had to towed my car to them. I have asked them to help me with recall issues but they said they don’t have any parts yet from Honda itself and will be available in August or September . I am really concerned with my experience that I had with my kids in car seats on freeway. And seems like I’m not getting any help to get it repair. Also thinking that this might be battery issue but I have replaced my battery in 2020 and again
Around November 2023 I took my 2019 Honda Odyssey to Glockner Honda in Portsmouth, Ohio about an issue with the engine. I was told by Andy Schmidt and his Honda-certified technicians that the problem is the same as the one that is coming out for a recall in January 2024. I parked my Odyssey until January and took it back to Glockner Honda expecting it to be a part of the recall. I have waited for 6 months for it to be included or for Honda to agree to repair the vehicle. I have been told on multiple occasions by certified technicians and management at Glockner Honda that this is a manufacturing defect and they do not understand why it is not part of the recall. The recall is the same year, made, model, and problem as I am experiencing. I finally got verbal confirmation (Honda refuses to put it in writing) that they will not cover the full cost of the repair. I provided an estimate of the repair to the manufacturing defect to them from Glockner Honda. I demand that they pay for this defect. Also, they refuse to provide any information or explanation as to why my particular 2019 Honda Odyssey is not part of the recall. Please make them pay for this defect in the manufacturing process.
The transmission on this van has acceleration issues. When trying to accelerate the van will on occasion have hesitation of a few seconds. This has left me in situations when merging where I have almost been hit. The acceleration at times is not responsive. I’ve noticed it when trying to apply urgent acceleration, such as trying to cross an intersection, and when I accelerate a little, let off the gas, and accelerate again. A Google search finds many people with the same issue. This is a major safety concern since the van does not apply acceleration when expected and can leave a person vulnerable to being hit. This has been happening to me for years but I didn’t know I could report this. Happened today.
This vehicle has experienced random braking incidents while being operated on highways and other roads. Additionally, within a span of five years, two doors have malfunctioned, and the electrical system required replacement. These defects have jeopardized the safety of my family. The vehicle was purchased new at the time of acquisition. Please help.

Nothing has happened, yet, but we've received multiple recall notices from Honda who refuses to fix the problems. They keep claiming they don't have the parts, and it's been six months since you issued the recall. Why do we have to keep driving a car that could fail at any time? Why don't you force them to fix all the recalled cars? The recall number is 23V-858. Thank you for whatever you can do to get Honda to fix our Odyssey.
Honda Odyssey 2019 slips during highway speed and has no acceleration while the engines rpm goes up. Very dangerous at highway speed and then will have a large clank noise and go into gear. Honda doesn't acknowledge the issue with their 9 speed transmission but their are tons of complaints on the web with the same issue I have. It happens at lower speed too at stop lights and is a safety concern for me when my wife is driving out children around.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the tailgate will not open. Yes, I can have it inspected. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This limits the ability to use the tailgate. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have brought the car into the dealership to fix the tailgate. The motor was replaced and they stated they sealed the back to prevent water from getting in. It has since broken again and currently it will not open. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The first time it broke the dealership inspected and fixed the problem. It is now broken again and I haven't brought it into the dealership yet. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? I got a tailgate error multiple times, also the battery was draining really quickly - which I think was due to the trunk issue.
While driving on highway rear Left spring which is a ver heavy duty spring broke into pieces without any accident but could have caused catastrophic event. This needs to be investigated as per even dealer said this is very unusual , this sprng coil never breaks and could cause death. This is a metallic issue with Mattel.
Water leaked into the back of my van through the plastic molding at the top of the lift gate. I was told the water ruined the control module. The part I was told would rrun $850 to replace. I looked the control module online at a gunuine Honda parts catalogue & it's $121. They tell me there is no guarantee that this will work. If it does not, then they recommend the replacement of the rear wiring harness which lists at the same Honda parts site fo $2,101.64 but this dealership wants to charge $8,500 plus $900 for new carpeting. Looking at the auto blogs, it seems that this is a recurring issue with the 2018-2019 Odysseys.
I'm experiencing several error messages on my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which include issues with the Brake System, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Auto High-Beam, Road Departure Mitigation System, Collision Mitigation System, and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). These warnings are not only persistent but raise significant safety concerns, especially during instances where sudden braking is necessary due to a vehicle abruptly cutting in front. The constant illumination of the Brake System lights is particularly alarming as it casts doubt on the reliability of the brakes in critical situations. It appears that these problems are not isolated, as other Honda owners have reported similar safety risks affecting both drivers and passengers.
Issue Fuel Pump Recall Report: My vehicle was identified as an affected vehicle of this recall. The designated honda service shop failed to share the recall details when the specified engine stall was reported to the dealership at check in. When the vehicle engine stopped prior to the incident automatic sliding doors also stopped working and one week prior to this the audio and electrical outage on the media console also went out. All of the cracking and sound issues including inability to connect a phone properly via Bluetooth (no handsfree capability) , the screen going black and or just blue without any display. Cruise control has never worked properly and fails to adjust speed or stop accelerating so basically has never been operable. Dealership and Honda recall campaign has failed its clients tremendously on this one. I have zero trust in them or their interest to do the right thing. The safety concern remains: no reliability on speed acceleration on cruise control capabilities, no reliability on reverse cam or view quality, automatic door malfunction not sensing obstruction within a safe time to avoid impact, failure to avoid on coming traffic if the vehicle stalls in the way of high speed traffic or in route on freeway. Safety issue: the failed communication of the recall never ever shared by the dealership while vehicle was brought in for oil changes with diligence. Failure by the dealership to note the explained concerns as part of the nationally acclaimed recall (no

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
