The radio stopped working when looked into online it’s a known issue with the cords behind the radio coming loose on its own causing the radio backup camera climate control everything that that console is used for stops working the screen is black and does not come on after checking fuses the radio console is still out. with the cords coming loose on its own when i have no access to them honda should be held responsible for this repair.

My odyssey falls under the dec 2023 fuel system recall. my van has the symptoms but no check engine light. ive made honda aware, but still no parts available to fix. ive been told they wont fix unless the check engine light is on, this is unacceptable especially when its a RECALL that has to be fixed. symptoms have gotten worse and im honestly ready to trade in the van if honda wont repair it. this is unacceptable, its almost a year since the recall was issued.
Over the course of the 38 months that we have owned the vehicle, random transmission slippage has been present on this 2019 Odyssey. I mentioned the slippage to the service advisors at the dealership when taking the vehicle in for oil changes. The technician was “not able to replicate the problem.” The slippage was always a safety concern. The van is highly unpredictable on acceleration, making it dangerous to try to pull into traffic, for example, since the driver never knows whether the van will accelerate on demand or not. Other times, the engagement will occur gradually, causing the van to accelerate sloooooowly, despite the driver having significant throttle applied. The display now reads “Transmission System Problem” and WILL NOT shift out of park. I had it towed to the local auto repair shop to be diagnosed. The transmission needs replaced.
There has been an open recall on my vehicle for 10 months but the carmaker and dealerships are refusing to fix it. They are claiming "parts availability" but it has been 10 months now and they are selling the part online for profit. They are also using parts to sell new vehicles for profit before addressing the safety issue for existing owners.

The contact owned a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 25 MPH, there was smoke emerging from the vehicle. The driver was able to pull over, and the vehicle caught fire. There were no warning lights illuminated. There were no reported injuries, crash or airbag deployment. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. A police report was filed. The fire department was on the scene to extinguish the fire. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). However, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The dealer informed the contact the vehicle was safe to drive as long as the engine warning light was not illuminated. The front facing monocular camera of the ADAS system has failed on this 2019 Honda Odyssey with approximately 50,000 miles. The failure of this camera has rendered the ADAS systems inoperable including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and lane keeping assistance. This appears to be a common complaint/failure mode amongst many similar Honda models 2018 - 2022. The following message suddenly appeared one day and since then, they kept coming back on every time starting the car: ACC problem, Collision Mitigation Problem, Lake Keep Assist Problem, Auto High Beam Problem, Brake Problem, and sometimes Transmission Problem as well. After research online, many other owners of the same vehicle had the same issue and which may be caused by faulty connector or faulty front camera component for the hardware issue; or software issue which was on the previous recall for the multi-media issue on the Odysseys. There is a HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 18-006 for the 2017-2018 CR-V models of the same issue/symptoms: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Car hesitates upon acceleration passing through approximately 2000 rpm. Does not duplicate every time. Dealer will not replace high pressure fuel pump.
The transmission stalls and does not shift into gear from an idol. When this happens, it is a safety issue that creates a 2 - 5 second lag in acceleration, then a lurch forward as the RPMs rev and the vehicle finally shifts into gear. This is a known problem to Honda through multiple complaints filed with them, and is a commonly known and discussed problem on many online forums. The first time we took it into Honda they denied that there was any issue, charged us for a transmission diagnosis, and were very dismissive towards my wife. When i called to inquire about this issue several months later to set up a subsequent appointment, the service coordinator informed me that this issue is known to Honda but they will do nothing to remedy the problem because there is nothing “physically wrong” with the transmission. He went on and on about how I needed to file complaints in order to pressure Honda to do something about this because it is dangerous and he personally knew of other vehicles with the 9-speed transmission that had been involved in accidents because they could not accelerate in intersections. He emphasized that Honda WILL NOT FIX the problem. Not only is this awful customer service, but it is putting my family’s lives at risk. There have been several close calls for my wife when trying to turn left across oncoming traffic, merging into moving traffic, and navigating in smaller spaces. The transmission does not shift into gear for several seconds when trying to accelerat
Car will randomly display warning lights for all systems listed above.
My 2019 Honda Odyssey was involved in a total loss car accident recently on Aug 20 2024. The cause was delayed acceleration due to a fuel pump recall by Honda Motor Corp from Dec 2023; and to date they have failed and neglected to provide the part to repair. For over a year I have experienced delayed acceleration issues with this auto. I purchased this auto new from the local dealer in 2019 and have constantly experienced, reported and paid thousands to repair and address transmission and delayed acceleration issues. Now this resulted in my inability to accelerate from a stop position resulting in another vehicle directly crashing into mine. Researching similar issues reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration it appears I'm not alone. In our case - we were in fact "T-boned"
Fuel pump died while driving on highway causing the engine to stall and vehicle to shift into neutral at highway speed. Also lost power brakes while attempting to pull over to shoulder due to stall. Further, when tow truck arrived we could not shift vehicle into neutral to place it on truck bed as the gear shifter is electronic and requires engine to be on to shift out of park. No check engine lights were on prior to this event. When the event occurred, the vehicle cycled through multiple warnings on the dash. This was extremely frightening as our whole family was in the van and we could have been killed if we lost control or if we were unable to pull over where we did. Thankfully we were in a spot where we could pull off the highway. Fuel pump was previously replaced within the last couple of years as part of a recall. New pump should not have failed this early. Dealership confirmed faulty fuel pump and replaced under extended warranty on 9/4/2024. It is unknown if they kept the faulty part. I am now afraid to drive the vehicle as the fuel pump may fail again.

The front facing multi purpose camera is defective with a replacement cost of $1800-$2000. it controls all the lane assist, cruise control, braking functions of the vehicle
The mirror in the casing for the drivers side mirror shakes a lot, even at low speeds, to the point where I can’t use it reliably.

While driving my car I have felt it stalling at take off or while slowing down and trying to resume speeds. I cannot fill my gas tank up fully, and now my car will not start. We researched and found that we can tap the fuel relay under the steering wheel to start the car. We’ve taken the car in to the dealership and they will not even check the fuel pump recall because they do not have the parts. They tell me my battery is bad. But when we take the battery to replace it is good. I am now without a working vehicle because the dealership will not resolve the issue of the recall.
2019 Honda Odyssey - Camera Assembly Monocular Honda (36160-THR-A81) Safety LKA, Collison avoidance Camera failed. Multiple owners report issue with this failing. Our van was parked with system having functioned normally since purchase new. Upon starting vehicle, brake system warning lights turn on, and multiple safetey warning appear on notification screen indicating safety feautres not available. We are not only owner that has this saftey component fail on this model of the Honda Odyssey. Repair parts are in excess of $1400 and only available from dealership that indicates they have replace many of the same parts on other owners vans. Request looking at other submissions of owners experiencing this problem with the saftey feautes of the Van.
5 warning lights on dashboard for lane keeping assist, auto high bean, automatic breaking, collision mitigation and adaptive cruise control. Honda is saying it is the front sensing camera which is disabling these safety features. None of these features are working.
The camera system intermittently was cutting out. After researching it is apparently a known issue. I took it to my mechanic and what is "common" is a loose wire. This is not the case with my vehicle. It is a broken wire connection. Therefore neither my camera display or hands-free communication system work, they have no power.
Driver Rear suspension coil spring broke in half while vehicle was parked. I just got out of the van and there was a loud nose and the van dropped a few inches If I was driving at the time I could have lost control and crashed. Has not been inspected Is unavailable for inspection because no replacement part available from Honda part is on back order Multiple reports online of the same part breaking sooner. Has not been confirmed by the dealer as dealer doesn't have the part to replace it with
I have a 2019 Honda Odyssey. I have been having trouble with my transmission for quite some time. The car pauses when I try to accelerate. I took it to a Honda service center in when the car was 4 years old. They plugged it into the electronic system for an update and to look for problems. The entire system crashed. Which required me to replace the entire transmission control module. Even after this, I am still having trouble with the car pausing when I try to accelerate, which can be unnerving. My 15 year old has his learner's permit and is very nervous while driving my car. We have had some close calls.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal with several warning unknown lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that a diagnostic test needed to be performed to determine the cause of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and confirmed that parts were not yet available. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
5 emergency lights came on at the same time, we went to the Honda dealer and the problem is the front camera, they told us there, for the diagnosis it was $250 dollars and if we want to fix it it would be $1900, I think that Honda should cover that because it is a car with only 30,000 miles, it is a very expensive repair for a car that is not that old.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that after coming to a complete stop and attempting to drive, the accelerator pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard; however, the vehicle failed to respond. After several attempts at pumping the accelerator pedal, the vehicle abruptly accelerated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 80,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Trying to drive across a road and the van started and stopped and just went again and I almost got tboned.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
While driving the car brakes hard when it thinks that it is going to hit another car even though there is not another car around. We have almost been in multiple accidents because of it. When driving down a winding lane it often shakes the wheel although we are not departing lanes. We do not feel safe while driving the car with this safety feature
Hello. My Honda odyssey has a major safety issue. Three times now the rear hatch has failed. When this happens an alarm goes off and the door locks shut. Then, randomly and shortly after, the rear hatch unlocks. There is nothing locking the door when this happens. Two out of the three times I have been driving the car when the rear hatch unlatched and one is the three times I have had my three children in the car. Thank god no one was hurt or killed. Because there is nothing stopping items from falling out of the car causing an accident while driving. I have now paid two have this fixed twice at 1k each occurs. Despite me having purchased a warranty this is according to Honda caused by “water damage”. Well all over the Internet and forums there are people complaining about this with a class action law suit being investigated. The water damage is caused by improper sealing and assembly causing corrosion and the electrical failure. And then the worst part is, the hatch sticks open and the door is unlocked and not latched while driving! I have reached out to Honda directly over and over siting this obvious safety risk and saying that someone is going to get killed and there needs to be a recall. Again I can not emphasize enough how unsafe this is. I do not feel safe driving my children in this car or driving the car for that matter because the rear hatch could open at any time. I am disappointed in the lack of response by Honda and the dealership. I have spent thousands of dolla
It is very common problem with 2018-2023 honda odyssey. Water leaks inside from the seam crack under roof drip trim. This water is dripping right on the tailgate control electronic module. And module is short circuit and dead. Now tailgate is either stays locked or stays open all the time as the latch is not operating at all. This is safety issue as if tail gate is not latched properly it can be open while driving on the road. Also with water leaking inside in trunk area it's a issue with growing mold under the carpet. It shows error message on instrument panel about trouble with tailgate system.
My vehicle would say mitigation control system failure, and would flutter by turning off and back on and making the vehicle in operable for a few seconds while in motion. Also, would have a transmission gauge issue and would make the car inoperable, and wouldn’t move at all, would only turn on and would function like the radio, lights, etc.

The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. My car experience a sudden and catastrophic failure of the multipurpose camera, part number HP36160-THR-A81. Many of the safety features of my car are dependent on this part, which given the age and low mileage of my vehicle has obviously failed prematurely. The safety features impacted on my vehicle by this part failure include ACC, LKAS, Collision Mitigation and Road Departure Mitigation Systems. I receive continuous warning lights and alarms while driving the vehicle related to these systems. These warning lights and alarms cannot be stopped. Without these systems working properly the vehicle is not safe. I was told that 8tbwpupd cost roughly $1600 to replace the part necessary for these systems to work.
The chest clip is opening without having to press down the buttons to release it. It is magnetic and I'm able to open it with my non-dominant hand. I am not sure exactly how the child's safety was put at risk, but I imagine it is not safe to have a chest clip that can undo easily. The seat has not been inspected.
While driving down the interstate going between 55-60 mph van began to downshift and rpm’s started rising but gas pedal didn’t accelerate. Then the next day I got stranded on a highway because the van locked into neutral before I could pull into a parking lot because of traffic, then it finally went into park(we were trying to get it back in drive obviously). I was stuck blocking traffic for almost an hour with 3 kids and an infant in the car. Finally, restarting it several times worked and i was able to pull in and wait for a tow truck. This almost happened on the interstate. Someone is going to be seriously injured or worse because we almost were. Honda I supposed to be known for safety but right now, I may just switch to Toyota because apparently this issue is known and they just don’t care enough about their customers to recall and fix it.
The multipurpose camera in the front windshield has failed, causing the adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and correction, forward collision to fail. Even the non-ACC cruise control is locked out due to the failed camera. Honda will charge ~ $1800 to replace, and I can’t afford that. Problem confirmed by Ian’s of Broken Arrow. They confirmed it was the camera and not the radar unit. The failure of the camera causes a host of persistent dashboard warnings, but none preceded the failure.
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated and sputtered, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.
My 2019 Honda Odyssey has had issues with engine hesitation since purchase, but have worsened in the last year to the point that I am concerned I will be in an accident. When creeping forward at a lower speed (5-8mph) to make a turn, the engine hesitates for several seconds, delaying my ability to turn and causing me to then turn seconds before another car is approaching me. I am in a Honda facebook group and many people report similar issues without any fix. I have taken my car to the dealership and they do not see any issues. I recently had my fuel pump recall done (I basically had to beg the dealership to do it despite them telling me Honda is short on supplies), and the issue is still present. The issue is worse in colder weather. I drive with 3 kids in the backseat. This issue needs to be addressed.
Step on accelerator and no acceleration, hesitation and have to push farther down on accelerator. Sometimes that works other time I have to let of accelerator and push again to go. Nearly cause accident multiple times.
Started the car one morning and instantly a bunch of warning messages appear on the dashboard stating; 1) Collision Mitigation System Problem 2) Lane Keeping Assist Problem 3) Road Departure Mitigation System Problem 4) Auto High Beam Problem 5) Auto Emergency Braking Problem. There is also a brake system light on now (amber color) due to the above. Never had an issue before now. This is on a honda odyssey 2019 EX with just over 35k miles. Took car to local mechanic who ran diagnostic report and found the following issue; "Integrated driver support/monocular camera driver support system issue; multi-purpose camera unit/millimeter wave radar internal electronic failure" Contacted the Honda dealership who want $1500 for a new device and programing; this is disgusting. This issue is so widespread its almost ready to be a full blown recall.
I took the van into Honda and they said the back 2 rear springs were broken. But the parts (springs) were on back order. I called dealers all over Ontario, New York and Virginia(because I have family in those states) and discovered that none of them had the part or that if they did they were not allowed to sell them because they had a line up of customers that needed them. One dealer, before I even gave the part number, stopped me and said your calling about the rear springs because they had so many inquiries. To me this sounds like there is an issue with the rear springs for Honda odyssey from the year 2018-2020 and that this should be a recalled item. No way is it a coincidence that there no springs available because of a random part shortage. It’s more likely it’s a poorly manufactured part and they are all breaking 5-7 years in to their life span. I believe this should be investigated as Honda probably knows the part is defective. This should be a part that is recalled and the cost of repair covered by Honda. Currently my odyssey can’t e driven for safety reasons until the parts (spring) comes in which could be month. I can give you the dealers I contacted and part number.

The front facing camera located at the top of the windshield goes bad and affects multiple systems. The manufacturer is aware of this issue. While the part only costs $150 - the dealerships want to charge upwards of $2000 to replace the camera - they say that owners are not allowed to replace it themselves. You cannot disable the advanced features. This issue is extremely common across all Honda models that use this camera.

The power tailgate would open, then after opening, the tailgate may slowly sag down. Then it automatically closes within seconds. When going down to close, it beeps loudly.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
