Coolant levels low, coolant leaking into the engine. Check engine light on and ODBC reader says cylinder misfire.
When shifting from reverse to drive, my car would not shift and instead forced my shifting knob into the park position. The issue was the exact same as the ford 22S43 recall, where the shifting bushing wears out, however the 2017 Fusion is not included in that recall, despite still having the same bushing. I was forced into park and upon inspection, saw that the shifting solenoid was detached from the transmission. If this happened on a busy street, I would have had a car dead in the middle of the road, possibly causing an accident. Luckily I was not. I bought the new bushing, DG9Z-7K340-A, online and fixed it myself, not knowing about the cap that goes with it, so I will not be able to reproduce the issue. I believe I still have the defective bushing and could show it to someone if needed, but no one has looked at it. My car gave a specific warning (can't recall the details) that, when googled, lead me to videos of the exact issue. I believe it happened once before, but somehow after shifting it in park and back into drive, it went away. that was about a week before the full failure. My main concern is that the 22S43 recall does not include enough vehicles for that issue.
The bushing in the shift cable completely degraded. It is is the exact same thing that happened in recall 22S43. ford dealership is not willing to fix without recall notice due to my car being a 2017 and not 2013-2016. Please advise if this model year will get added to the notice. thank you!
Engine coolant leaking into cylinder #3. Check engine light on and code says engine misfire. Coolant very low and if I had not caught it would have eventually blown up the engine possibility causing a catastrophic accident. After research and talking to the dealer this is a very common problem in the Ford EcoBoost 1.5 and 2.0 engines with as little as 10,000 miles! White smoke pours out of the exhaust on startup each morning with the smell of burnt coolant in the air.

Vehicle started making noises from the gas cap like vacuum noises. After refueling, car seem like it was having problems starting. After letting it sit for a couple minutes at the gas station, the car cranked but started putting like it wanted to turn off. Got to a red light and car suddenly turned off. Message shown on dash : Auto StartStop disabled. Manual Start Required. Car still wouldn’t crank. Got a scanner hooked up to the car and it said Evap Purge Solenoid Valve. I took my car to the Ford dealer today for a oil change and was told that the lug nuts were defective and had to be replaced. They charged me $237.40 to replaced them. I have a extended warranty and they told me they were not cover under this warranty. Checking on line I find there is a large number of vehicle that have the same problem with the same lug nuts. Why is not a recall on these lug nuts.
Turned off 2017 Ford Fusion SE 1.5l and received a msg: shift says fault - service soon. Car kept telling me it was not in park even though it did turn off. Placed wheel blocks behind the wheels because it was "parked" at an angle. I can't understand how the 2017 is excluded from the previous years recalls for the shift bushing issue. Rear passenger caliper exploded causing a fire due to collapsed brake hose
Vehicle stuck in park, the shifter cable bushing failed. Bushing deteriorated and is completely missing
Coming down a hill and the brake pedal felt a little different. Thought they might have gotten hot. Next day out to the store and pulling left onto a main street 6 lanes wide heard a pop and the brake pedal fell was gone. Front left brake hose popped. Got it home had to change it out at night. Not but three weeks later pulling into the garage I almost ran into the wall. After the pedal went to the floor again. This time it was the front right hose.
My 2017 Ford Fusion started have problems with shifting from different gears. After a week of small shifting issues, it would not shift into second gear. Launched into second gear from first very fast. Then it wouldn’t shift at all for awhile, then slowly worked between gears. Ford said it is the Torque converter and isn’t covered by recall. Sounds very close and fishy to me. It was made at the Hermosillo Ford plant and less than a month past the recall for this same issue out of this plant for this year make and model. Ford said there is nothing they can do. New transmission is 12 weeks out due to part shortage.
As I put the car in reverse it shifted really hard and then a warning light came on and told me to check the manual. Upon checking the manual I found it’s the Powertrain Indicator. The car is still driveable but skips and shutters when picking up speed to shift gears. It also hesitates like it wants to stop. I almost stalled out in the middle of the road multiple times while trying to make it back home. The manufacturer was contacted and I was told my particular vehicle was not under the recall. They offered no further assistance.

I have a 2.0L engine with a 6-speed engine. My daughter was on the highway going about 60mph and her car started shaking very badly and eventually shut off. It turns out that it does in fact have something to do with her studs not being welded correctly, and her transmission mounts failed causing the engine and transmission to move rapidly under the hood of her car not being held in place.

All right, so I have a little bit of bad news for you, so we hooked up a code reader to the car. And there were a couple of misfires. So there's a cylinder to misfire a cylinder or a random misfire detected, a cylinder 3, misfire a cylinder one misfire. So our service advisor thinks that it's probably not an issue with a coolant. An issue with the head gasket, and he would recommend that that gets replaced. And he said, at some point, you might need to replace the entire engine.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
