I bought a used Ford f-150 from Toyota used care dealership on [XXX]. On [XXX] while vehicle was being driven on [XXX], north of Santa Clarita, on the way down to San Diego. I was in the backseat, my friend who was the driver notified me. That we had to pull over and check because he was noticing smoke, then we pulled over and the truck was leaking a fluid that was on fire for about 20 minutes. We had exited the vehicle, called 911, the fire then stopped after about 20 minutes. The fire department came and then put out a small fire within the truck. We then had to wait on the side of the rode for 5 hours waiting for a tow truck to pull the truck. I got the truck towed to a ford service center because the truck still had new vehicle manufacturer warranty with Ford. The truck was given full warranty and Ford covered the damages and fixed the vehicle giving it the green light in there service report. I then waited until March 4th 2025 to receive my truck back. On [XXX], the truck was being driven down southband the [XXX], on the [XXX], again due to smoke and also hearing a loud banging, my friends had to pull over and the truck is going to be towed to the service center which it was first fixed. The manufacturer has failed to remedy this safety recall for my F-150 vehicle in a timely manner. Ford initially identified the axle bolt fault as Customer Satisfaction Program 22B34 on Feb. 14, 2023 to a limited range of vehicles but then expanded the action as a recall notification 23S65 on Dec. 22, 2023 covering all 2021-2023 trucks with their "Trailer Tow Max Duty package". Based on these dates, Ford has had over 2 years to engineer a solution to this safety recall but has not done so.

There are several issues with the truck, the worst being misfire issues while driving at highway speeds. Several times now I have been on the interstate at speeds and the truck will all of a sudden lose speed and shutter. The engine light will blink, and this will happen for a couple miles and then it goes back to normal. If you pull the codes on the truck, you get P0300, P0301, and P0305. This is in the dealership again now. The previous two times the dealership has done nothing because they can not duplicate the issue, but they do pull the codes.

My F150, like many others that I've read about in the forums, has an issue with the internal cabin temperature. It blows way too hot and isn't adjustable as designed. Clearly, this in itself is not a safety concern and rather an inconvenience that Ford won't seem to figure out and fix. The issue is that when the heat is turned to High (which is meant to be around 85F), it blows out air at around 160F and this can easily burn someone who touches the vents - such as my young kids. Ford needs to resolve this safety (and inconvenient) concern.

This is a 2022 Ford F15 . In 2023 ,at 34000 miles the tranfer case broke down in the middle of the road, waiting at a stop light. The truck needed to be towed. The dealer fixed it under the warranty. In 2024 at 57000 miles ,the same transfer case broke down as i was getting out of my driveway. Again it was towed to the dealer. In Feb 2025 i drove out of state and i observed a white smoke behing me. I stoped at a rest area and discover the the undercarriage is full of oil and the transmission got overheated. When I got back home i saw a lot of oil spots from the trans on my driveway. Now the car is at the dealer again. The worst part is even if I had an appointment 2 weeks later from the date i called, representative told me it will take another 2 weeks to fix the trans! Every time the truck was at the dealer it took 2 weeks to get fixed and every time they told me theyy don’t have a loaner. That is my work truck and i can’t miss 2 weeks of work! I asked the representative what is going on with a car that is still under warranty and the transfer case broke twice in 2 years. The answer was that Ford knows about this problem but they do not have a solution to fix it properly. I asked him what I’m suppose to do after the warranty runs out? Same guy told me that Ford will issue a recall and as long as there is a recall they will fix it with no extra charge but there is no recall on transfer cases from Ford! For a truck that I paid $90000 that is not acceptable. Please let me know m

Started truck then we heard a loud pop, similar to a gun shot. Then we heard crackling through the speakers. Audio volume controls were ineffective as well as radio on/off controls. Turned truck off and restarted no pop this time but the crackling continued. I called my local Ford dealer to schedule a service appointment for the next afternoon. Then next day when I was driving the truck to work the crackling continued for several minutes then the sound system went back to normal. That afternoon, 12/4 after work I drove the truck to the dealer I had purchased the truck from to drop it off. I reported the situation to the service advisor and he said since the sound system does not throw codes it would not be able to be diagnosed unless the problem duplicated itself which I would have to leave the truck for an extend period of time.

My rear passenger side window will not go back up. It is constantly receiving power to pull the roll the window down. This is a known problem in the community. If you visit any Ford F-150, Explorer, or Maverick forum, there are post about work arounds on how to get the window up and temporarily get the window to stay up until the part comes in to repair it the correct way. Many of the people are posting that it is a known problem and the Dealerships are just "Yeah, we know, the parts are on back order, we can get you scheduled when it comes in". My argument is that if it is a known issue, why is the Manufacturer waiting until the owner reports it to perform the repair. Especially, because due to the constant power being applied, it could burn up the power window motor, safety interlocks for auto up/down, or if the materials get too hot eventually causing other electrical issues. From what I have found online it appears to be a known problem affecting mainly 2021-2022 year model vehicles.

The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by Rocky Ridge and endorsed by Ford Motor Company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford Certified Collision Center and my insurance company USAA. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
