Chech engine light keeps coming on. Dealer said it was an evap canister issue, I told them warning had come on prior for check fuel fill cap. (Capless). Said they needed to replace purge cylinoid. So as I'm paying $500 for the repair, I'm told this might not fix the issue. What? Started with small evap leak. And fuel door codes. That only came on at 1/4 tank used. Now it's a large leak that comes on every time I start the engine. And I got the check fuel fill door warning again. I've done every trick listed on forums to clean and lubricate the fuel fill door, it did help for a while but as stated above problem is now much worse. Dealer should know how to fix this issue once and for all. Forums note that this is a common problem with no quick solution.

Due to an occurrence of other vehicles back windows blowing out dealer unplugged part of rear window defroster. Now several years later the defroster across entire back window does not work. Since I am now out of waranty and extended waranty this repair would come out of my pocket. Dealer should have replaced faulty electronics in rear defroster/window at some point, not just unplugged it.

My 2015 Ford F-150 truck has had multiple issues related to performance issues, with only 80,000 miles on it. I have had issues with it losing power while driving, both with and without towing a trailer where it just powers down on the highway from 70-75 mph down to 40-50 mph in traffic. I usually just have to pull over, turn the engine off and then turn it back on and everything runs normal. It is currently at Phil Long Ford in Colorado Springs, CO, having the short block and driver side cylinder head replaced at 80,000 miles because it was smoking out the exhaust and they determined that it had coolant leaking into the #4 and #5 cylinders. This is after it had a completely new engine installed at 75,000 miles due to coolant leaking into the 3# cylinder and causing severe damage to the engine. It was in the repair shop from August 2023 until late December 2023 because the engines were are backorder. The Passenger side cylinder heads are currently on a 13 month backorder according to the dealership, which is why they are only replacing the short block and Driver side cylinder head this time, after only 5,000 miles on the replacement engine. I have also received multiple recall notifications regarding this vehicle, the most recent of which was on 4/22/2024 for #24E03 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE UPDATE, none of which have been repaired during the multiple times and extended durations that my vehicle was at the Ford dealership for repairs. Two recalls existed and should h
When I was driving a light came on that said low oil pressure. I checked the oil, and it was full. Driving to get it checked out the engine stopped. I had it towed to the FORD dealership. The engine failed at 81,000 on my 2015 FORD F-150. I was charged $220 for the FORD technicians to say "they do not know why the engine failed but for $16,000 they will put a new engine in." I asked for details as there is low miles on the engine. The technician said "they would be happy to tear apart the engine, for a fee, to find out." I asked about a warranty they said the motor is good for 60,000 miles after which point it is not covered. I found, on the internet, that the 2015 2.7 EcoBoost engine has problems with oil leaks and that the piston melt, fuse together and the engine stops. I also found there is a federal investigation into the 2.7 EcoBoost engine. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Lead frame needs replacing. Same issues as the TSB 16-008 and the 16N02 Dealer Bulletin for 2011-2013 models. This should be extended to later models. Diagnostic code PO720
The door latches freeze during cold weather and prevent me from closing and latching the doors. Ford has previously attempted repairs to my vehicle under Customer Satisfaction Program 20M04, but the repairs have not worked. To further exacerbate the problem, Ford has told me they won't do any further repairs unless they can replicate the problem, but I live in the mid-Atlantic and the weather is not cold enough to reliably replicate the problem.
My latest issue is with the 2.7 ecoboost engine. I had a total failure of this engine last year and am still awaiting a replacement that I am paying for. This is unacceptable as I had this vehicle serviced according to maintenance schedule. I also have had systems report failure such as the hillside assist and the electronic parking brake. Additionally, the automatic transmission has locked up in third gear quite a few times. There are other issues such as a leaky oil pan and such.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer for brake service and the dealer informed the contact that all 4 lug nuts were swollen and needed to be replaced. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the lug nuts and brake pads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH and entering an intersection, the brake pedal was depressed, and the pedal extended to the floorboard. Due to the brake failure, the vehicle failed to stop and drove through a red light into the intersection. The vehicle eventually rolled to a stop. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the brake fluid reservoir cap had come off and brake fluid had leaked from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 130,000.
As I was driving my 2015 Ford F150 ( 53453 miles)today the electronic power steering quit working and locked the steering wheel as I was rounding a long left turn. As I was coming out of the corner the steering wheel locked and continued to turn left causing me to cross the center line and enter into oncoming traffic.Luckily for me and everyone else the driver of the oncoming car saw me coming over and responded accordingly. I had to force the steering wheel to the right to get the vehicle to respond. Once I had the truck back in my lane the steering started binding and three different faults appeared on the dash. 1. Electronic Power Assist 2. Advance Trac 3. Hill Start Assist. The locking (binding) steering wheel continued for the next 8 miles until I was able to get it safely off the highway. After shutting the vehicle off and restarting it the faults were no longer showing and the steering started working properly. After researching this online it appears to be a very very serious issue with these trucks. I also see that this issue has been reported to the NHTSB by other people with the same vehicle. If not for the alert driver in the oncoming lane there would have been a serious head on collision with sever injuries. I have no choice but to drive this vehicle not knowing if or when this will occur again. This is an issue that more than likely will result in fatalities. I am hoping this will be investigated with top priority.

This engine defect is well known to Ford ; it involves the 2015-2017 2.7 liter ecobost . These engines were produced with a faulty oil pan gasket . I just paid to replace the third oil pan . Taken in totality these leaking oil pans are a safety issue since oil is deposited on our roads leading to slick conditions and deteriorating road surfaces . Ford's most recent TSB related to this defect is TSB 24-2098 , which superceds TSB23-2330 . This defect effects thousands of Ford's 2.7 liter ecoboost engines .Please examine this safety issue . Thank you

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
The exhaust manifolds have warped, breaking a nut and stud and causing an exhaust leak. I am finding this is an extremely common failure indicative of a design flaw. Ford will not cover this under any extended coverage, nor offer financial assistance to repair this failure.
LR wheel fell off on Hwy 40. Shop that towed us in and fixed the problem said probably caused by swollen lugs nuts and subsequent torquing issue.
Exhaust manifolds bolts breaking

The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 121,000.
I was driving a couple of days ago and all of a sudden I got this wrench icon on my dashboard and my 2015 Ford F150 went to limp mode from 70 mph to 35 mph for no apparent reason. I've noticed the PRNDM21 is grayed out. Luckily after about 10 seconds, it went back to normal. Today Feb 23, 2024, I went to pick up my girls from school and this wrench icon shows up again, this time it felt like my truck was not responding to acceleration, it's like it had a mind of its own. I was pressing the brake but it felt like it was not responding so I almost rear-ended another vehicle. Luckily, there was room on the right lane so I swerved immediately not even thinking if there was any car so fortunately, after about a minute, the car went back to normal. I was so scared driving the truck after I picked up my girls to school, I was hoping it wouldn't happen again as there were a lot of kids crossing the school. When I got home, I used my code reader and it came up with P0707 and P0706 (Transmission Sensor a Circuit Range Performance and Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit Low) issues. I contacted a mobile mechanic and scheduled for a repair this Sunday. Hope they can get this fix asap!
Vehicle speedometer working it radically
The oil gaskets on the valve covers and oil pan are defective and leak. This causes oil to be leaked on the engine and can catch fire. Ford has stopped making the defective parts and now charging customers for the repair. If the repairs are not made, the engine fire is a probability.
My truck now has 40,000 miles on it. For the past week the speedometer screen get covered by the message window. YOUR AUTOMATIC PARKING BRAKES HAVE A MALFUNCTION, GET IT SERVICED IMMEDIATELY. I can't really tell if the parking brake is dragging. My gas mileage has dropped about 1 mpg and it has feeling of slight chattering when starting out. I I keep deleting the message but it randomly comes up again. I live about 1 mile from Westway Ford in Irving, TX. I called for a service call appt. Over the phone they said they would come to get it at 10:30 a.m. I offered to drive it over to their service department but they said they would come and get it. They also said there would be a $395 charge whether the look at the problem or not. Why didn't they want me to drive it to their service departmenT?
Could not remove the lug nuts. They did not fit in the lug wrench. They had to be hammered off.
Both the drivers side and passenger side exhaust manifolds have sheered the support bolts off potentially causing parts to come loose and fall off while driving. This is a known and well documented issue on the trucks with repair estimates being 3-$4,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated the oil pan was leaking. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics where the vehicle was diagnosed with a leaking oil pan and that the oil pan needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the oil pan was unavailable to be ordered. The contact contacted several Ford dealers and inquired about the replacement of the oil pan and was informed that the part was unavailable. The oil pan had been out of stock for two years. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Last year while camping. I pulled into our camping spot. When I put my f150 into park. The right passenger door lock popped up and the door opened all by itself. I got out of the truck to shut the door but it would not close. After having my kid pull and holding the door knob up from inside. The door finally closed. But I did it again later on in the trip. It sounds like the same recall that is on other 2015 f150. The dealership here in Marysville ohio states that it not a recalled item. They want to charge me $600 plus the fix the kinked wire. I refuse to pay to have it fixed because it sounds like a recall. So the vehicle just sits in my driveway.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the vehicle was losing motive power. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic, and the contact was informed that the timing belt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 148,500.
My upholstery of the drivers seat was worn out, so I had it replaced. When the mechanic pulled off the old upholstery, he found that the seat frame was broken in two places. I was then told by the service writer that this is a safety issue and that they are required to NOT release my vehicle back to me, due to the severity of the safety of the driver. He told me that the seat could break loose from the truck in event of a collision. - I have saved the damaged component - There was no indication or warning that this component failed
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for a scheduled oil change, the contact was informed that two bolts were fractured on the exhaust manifold. The contact was informed that the exhaust manifold and assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 100,358.
Vehicle has a catastrophic design flaw. If water enters the LED BLISS tail light assembly even in small amounts for anreason, including due to manufacturing defects, minor damage such as a crack, e treme wet weather, or wear and tear of seals, then numerous electrical failures occur of the entire warning system. This includes not only the tail lights, and blind spot backup and cross traffic systems, but catastrophic failure of all dashboard door and window controls. The vehicle cannot be easily unlocked including with remote, climate and accessories cannot be controlled. They vehicle can barely be operated and great expertise and expense required to return the vehicle to proper service. This has happened twice to this vehicle in 2022. Both times it was from minor damage to the taillight lens. Water entered the connectors for a network system which is critical to numerous vehicle safety and critical systems which are completely digital. The part required replacing is available only from a dealer as an OEM part and cost $500 plus labor. Research shows this is a widespread confusing problem, which renders high end models nearly inoperable with uncontrollable systems other than basic engine functions and subjecting consumers to great inconvenience and expense. The manufacturer does not appear to have offered recall services and only will repair or replace if the item fails under warranty. Under any interpretation this problem is a gross failure in engineering and safety. What oth
Rear driver's door lock froze and wouldn't lock. Upper lock/latch latched on rear driver's side door, but lower lock/latch froze and wouldn't latch/lock. Had to drive to work with the lower lock not latched and wait for weather to warm up for latch/lock to release. Problem happens every year when the weather gets cold.
I connected the 7-pin trailer wire of my 16' tandem axle enclosed trailer with electric brakes to my pickup. I checked the lights on the trailer. All functioned correctly. I got into my pickup to drive. The integrated trailer brake controller was smoking and getting hot. No error messages popped up on the dashboard. I pulled the fuse for the trailer brake module to prevent the integrated trailer brake module from melting or catching fire. Upon searching the internet, this appears to be a problem with my model year (2015 F-150). Ford dealership re-programs the trailer brake module. This needs to be addressed before the brake controller fails and could potentially catch fire. It also could cause an accident, because the electric trailer brakes will lock up or cease to engage.
While sitting in my driveway getting ready to go to town, I pulled the seat belt to lock it into place when I hear a pop then the seat belt would not retract at all. It was as if the retractable spring broke. I left the truck sitting until I could get a replacement belt from Ford (450.00) to repair this safety issue. Had this belt failed in a collision it would have caused severe damage to the driver. This issue needs to be addressed before someone dies in an accident. There was no warning signs before this happened and I was very lucky it happened in my driveway and not on the highway.
Throttle body failure while driving resulting in immediate need to pull off the road as vehicle lost power and a lot of warnings lights going off. Very dangerous at Haigh speeds in traffic.
Al darmarcha mi camioneta no dio marcha creei que la vateria estaba baja pero no dio marcha solo encendieron las luces del tablero brake system y Electric park brake no damarcha se bloqueo por completo
My Trucks oil Pan Gasket leaks oil. I had it fix, but the Ford company had to use an aftermarket part on my truck instead of a OEM part. After I had My Truck in the shop i encountered multiple individuals online and in person that has had this issue. Here is a few form: [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Can you check into this issue and see if it warrants a recall. The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that another vehicle had backed into the contact's vehicle which cracked the lens cover on the rear cross traffic system. Once the lens cover cracked, moisture began to enter the lens cover which caused both the window defroster and the power windows locks to not operate as needed. The contact stated that several warning messages including the "Cross Traffic Collision", and "Tail Collision" had appeared on the instrument panel. The contact called several dealers in his area and was informed that the part to repair the vehicle was on back order. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Driving 68mph with cruise control engaged, truck violently jerked. Gear indicator went to 1st and started flashing. There was no gas pedal response. The truck was just coasting. About 10 seconds later, the gear indicator went back to 6th and resumed normal operations. This seems to be the same lead frame issue earlier f150s had with this transmission but no recall has been made for the 2015’s. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed by Ford
During driving the engine will shut down and the truck stops. Multiple engine lights will display on the dash expressing multiple systems fails. The wrench icon will display. The safety of others and myself were put at risk due to the truck shutting off during forward movement and putting everyone at risk of a rear end crash. Yes, the issue has be reproduced and confirmed through self driving and investigation into the issues via online UTube and Ford forums. The truck has been brought to a Ford dealership for inspection. The Ford dealership has stated the the aux trans pump has failed leading to a shut down in the system and presser build up in the engine leading to failure to valve covers and oil pan expansion. Currently Ford has a service bulletin for the oil pan and the related parts that must be replaced to fix the issues, however this is still at the cost to the public when Ford is aware of the issues that cause shut down to the engine. This is on a 2015 ford F-150 XLT, 4x4, 2.7 eco boost engine.
While driving at approx 50 MPH the engine suddenly stopped and shut off. I coasted to the side. There was no ability to restart the engine. It was towed to my mechanic who informed me the engine had fully seized. Engine odometer was approx 103,000 miles at time of incident. There was a full engine oil reservoir.
My 2015 F-150 3.5L ecoboost experienced a sudden loss of power during highway speeds and shut off. I was in rush hour traffic and almost caused a few accidents as my truck seemed like it went into "limp mode". While my steering wheel was tight I managed to get off the road safely with no power whatsoever. My idiot lights were flashing like crazy and stated "Advance Trac Service" and "Hill Start assist not available". I let the truck sit for a bit and restarted it. It ran solid another 15 miles. Today I'm getting Advance Trac message: "Advance Trac Service" and "Hill Start assist not available", all while the engine check light remains on. I have read multiple issues similar to mine but there does not seem to be a recall for this. This is a VERY unsafe ordeal and very scary. Had my daughter been driving, this may have been an accident for sure. I see Ford "extended" the warranty to cover any issues. But I do not drive my truck that often and I find it hard to believe nothing is being done about the "throttle body" issue (from my reading). This is even happening to Ford trucks overseas. I get they do not have any say in the US, bu it does show this is a MAJOR issue.
The plastic oil pan is leaking and have to replace the oil pan every time there is a leak. This is the 4th time this oil pan has leaked and now I cannot order an oil pan as it is out of stock. This is an issue for the past few years and needs to be fixed as I do not have $1000+ to fix it every time this happens.
The rear window defrost caught fire and made a loud bang noise and shattered the rear window.
While driving normally down the freeway the transmission on my 2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch(4x2) jumped into neutral, the "D" which was lite up orange started flashing orange to white then when white, the "wrench" light can on check engine light came on, the truck had power but when you pushed on the gas it only revved up like it was in neutral. Thankfully we were able to pull to the side of the road without getting hit, and I turn the truck off, that seemed to "reset" the trucks computer and the truck was able to go into gear, we drove it home immediately without another incident. This was the second time it happened, I thought the first time maybe I did something wrong, but it is obviously a software problem with the transmission. My son and I could have been killed, this is a serious problem that needs a recall, I have done some basic research in the past 24 hours and there are similar problems all over the Country.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that three years prior the manifold assembly was replaced and the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the part to complete the repair was not in stock. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
