In addition, the speedometer failed to function as intended. The vehicle was taken back to the independent me
I had the OSS software recall completed a few months ago. Software fix is suppose to prevent automatic downshifting to 1st gear when traveling in higher gears. I am now having slipping/engine shudder when accelerating in higher gears. More than likely the lead frame will need to be replaced and my independent mechanic has said this should have been the fix initially, not just a software update. (Same models from 2011-2013 have had this recall implemented, but the 2014 has not been included for some reason.)
Per the attached letter to 1 A Auto I installed the subject steering shaft and torqued it per their video instructions. It slipped off causing a complete loss of steering because it wasn't properly fabricated. . Thankfully, I was travelling at low speed and was able to safeky stop, make an emergency repair and got the truck home. It caused a break in the airabag clock spring cable and also broke a cable on the steering wheel that connects the guage control on the steering wheel. I bought another shaft from 1 A Auto but it had the same defect described in the attached letter. I did not intsall the second part from from 1A Auto. I bought another shaft from O'Reilly Auto parts which was properly fabricated by Dorman. These parts from 1 A Auto should be recalled before some is injured. Indeed someone may have already been injured but this issue may not be detected as the cause
I was driving the vehicle this morning; the temperature was about 16 degrees Freiheit outside and the truck had been sitting out all night. I had the heater on and the rear defroster on. I drove the truck for about 2 minutes on a 25 mph residential street and heard a loud bang. I continued to drive the truck and noticed the driver side pane of the rear sliding glass window had shattered. I did some research online and found several reports from individuals with F-Series trucks that have reported similar incidents.
I am reporting an odometer rollback that occurred before I purchased my vehicle. CARFAX shows the vehicle had 206,627 miles when it was sold at an auto auction on February 27, 2023. Four months later, in June 2023, the vehicle was retitled in Illinois at 69,000 miles. The odometer reading at my first service visit on June 26, 2023 also showed 68,380 miles. This is a discrepancy of approximately 138,000 miles, which indicates the odometer was rolled back sometime between the auction sale and the Illinois title issuance. I purchased the vehicle in June 2023 without knowing the mileage had been altered. The issue affects the accuracy of the vehicle’s history and could impact safety and maintenance expectations. I am reporting this so the rollback can be documented and investigated by the appropriate authorities.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal after being stopped or while idling, the “Low Oil” warning light would illuminate, and the gauges would fall to zero. The failure was intermittent. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
When driving the vehicle will drop down into a lower gear such as first gear causing the tires to lock up while going into the lower gear, throwing your body in the truck forward causing whiplash and sending my vehicle into other lanes or oncoming traffic. There's a loyd bang when it happens and the engine vibrates so bad when you accelerate it feels like the engine is gonna fall out. They said there's no recall for my vehicle by Vin number but if you put the model in the search registry then 7 recalls come up. Why is my model excluded from this? This is highly dangerous and can kill me or other people on these roads. Ithappens daily. I had just bought it 2 months ago and it happend the same day I bought it and every day since.
The rear-view camera began working intermittently, and displaying a scrambled image when it did not work. It then stopped working all together and now only displays a blank screen. This began about 2 years ago, and it finally stopped working altogether about 1 year ago. I want to report it because the current rear-view camera recall stops at the 2015 model year, but my 2014 has the same problem.
Bought truck on 2/25,. 7/15/25, wife went to store took truck. When she went to stop truck noticed brake pedal was going down but truck stop. Brake light went on so she turned around home. She drove slow when she reached the front of house pressed brake to stop truck brake pedal went all the way down. Could not stop truck with brakes so she hit curb with tire to stop it.I checked brake fluid canister and is was empty. No leaks on street.I called dealer; three days later truck was towed by dealer to their place.I was told master brake cylinder assembly and booster assembly has to be repaired.I paid 1,648.22. I called Ford for any recalls (I was concerned about brakes) I was told that there was a brake recall repaired by All American Old Bridge, dealership I bought the truck from.Repaired was done on April 12, 2017. Recall Number is 16S24 I noticed that it was exactly same problem I paid for. I told Ford what happened and I wanted my money reimbursed At first I was told the warranty expired, it was either 12 months or 12, 000 miles. I explained it was a Safety Recall not a warranty. The person would not allow me to file for reimbursemenent and after going back and forth finally told me file a claim.I did. Another weeks past and I called again, went through the whole explanation again. Asked to speak to supervisor and after a conversation told me go to dealer to file papers.I did and service manager at first started saying the same thing but eventually put in the claim. I waited
I experienced an abrupt downshift while driving ~60 mph and the speedometer/odometer quit working, an orange wrench light appeared, and the engine light came on. My vehicle had Ford recall 24S37 open, which relates to the OSS and a symptom is an abrupt downshift. I took the truck to the local Ford dealer. They indicated that there were no codes showing- which I am suspicious of given the issues I experienced and I had a private reader read the truck after the recall programming and it did show an O2 sensor code- P0131 and at one point a P0722 code. The Ford dealer performed only the programming as part of the recall. After the recall programming, the truck experienced additional abrupt downshifts. I had to take the truck in again and pay for them to read the code even though I had the codes. After reading the code they indicated that the lead frame needed to be replaced. I had this replaced out of pocket (~$1138.21) and the O2 sensor for a total invoice of $1521.85. I contacted Ford to express my concern and frustration- case #CXH05849514. It appears that the recall programming was not effective in eliminating the problem.
Took in my vehicle to my local Ford Dealership after I experineced sudden downshift of the transmission and getting stuck in 1st gear. I asked for a reantal vehicle or a loaner to which they said, it would depend whether or not there would be any PCM related codes that came back after connecting the car. According to them no codes came back, and explained to me that, that being the case that they would just need to reprogram my PCM. The next day I went and picked up my truck, and after just about roughly 7 miles into driving, I started experiencing sudden downshift again and my truck started slowing down rapidly almost causing an accident and getting rear ended. I was able to pull over and noticed this time my truck had gotten stuck in 4th gear. I was able to drive it back to the dealership and left it parked in the their parking lot as it was after hours at this point. The very next morning by 7:30AM I was at their service desk explaining what had happened the night before after picking up my truck from them. They refused to give me any further service as they said that they had already completed the service related to the 24S37 recall, and that if I continued to experience issues, that it was a completly unrelated issue and if I wanted to get it diagnose and repaired that it would be out of pocket. After doing more reserach online, I came to find out that on some of this recall issues related to 24S37, in some cases the dealership would have to replace the entire Lead Frame
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while shifting into drive(D) and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal remained on the floorboard and the vehicle unintendedly moved forward. The vehicle was restarted, and the brake pedal was continuously pumped until it regained normal functionality. The contact stated that after the third attempt to shift into drive(D), the "Low Brake Fluid" message was displayed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but it had not yet been diagnosed. Additionally, the contact stated that there was condensation under the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.
Back up camera and warning stop not working while backing up. Most F150 pick ups are in the recall but mine is not for some reason even though it fails almost every time I back up. There is many children using the side walks in my neighbor hood creating a serious situation.
There was a sudden downshift at 50mph and a wrench icon showed up on my truck. I used on OBDII scanner and the codes p0706 and p0707 showed up. My safety was put at risk because I could have been hit in the rear and my rear tire locked up. I got the repairs done for a leadframe install. Is there any way I can get reimbursed for the repairs made, because this was once a recalled issue.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted and the rear wheels locked up. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the contact was informed that a diagnostic test was needed to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was then taken to a used car dealer, who scheduled a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
Driving at highway speed when the low brake fluid warning light came up on dash. I managed to get the truck and trailer I was pulling to a safe location and checked brake fluid. I had little braking power. I had brake fluid brought to my location and refilled the reservoir. I inspected the brake system for leaks and there were none. I tested brakes and they appeared to function properly. I returned to the highway and within two minutes I completely lost all braking. The internet reports that there are recalls on some trucks for this problem but my search using my VIN does not show one, but I have the same brake failure described to those reports.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was blank, distorted, or flipped to the opposite side. The driver was concerned about crashing. The contact shifted to park and back to reverse several times, but the camera was still inoperable. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact to purchase a new camera. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The failure mileage was approximately 214,000.
Front Engine cover leaking. I have had this issue twice with the same truck two separate engines. I bought my truck used and it was leaking oil. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as the front engine cover leaking. Then before the dealership could get it in to be repaired it started having problems with the timing components. All the problems were supposedly fixed but then about 5 months later the engine failed due to a camshaft failure and I was told this was due to lack of oil. The truck was not even due for an oil change after the dealership had done the repairs. I saved up and bought a brand new engine purchased April 25, 2025. I had the Ford dealership do the first oil change on the new engine and then it started leaking. I took it back and it was determined that it was leaking from the front engine cover, the same as the old engine which I pointed out to the dealership and they informed me that Ford is aware of the problem but there are not any recalls for this. The new engine is under warranty as it isn't even 6 months old and doesn't even have 5000 miles on it.
Our 2014 Ford F150 is doing the same back-up camera distortions as the current recall and the Ford dealer says it's our problem. The back-up camera on lots of other Ford models need to be recalled.
My master cylinder leaked in to my brake booster, so I had to replace both after losing my brake stopping abilities. I received the new parts replaced them then hookup the battery checked brakes turned off ignition. Went back to start engine nothing battery 7.5 volts.. Replaced 250.00 started engine brakes good drove stopped 3 times got home evening sun down brake lights are on, I cant turn them off! unplugged battery. The brake switch was on and broken could not be reset. This is a fire hazard!!! My leads for the positive where hot very hot to the touch, my power was weak on the engine while driving I almost lost my truck over that Brake switch? No where does it say to replace it or why does this happen it clearly is a small broblem that can be a very big one fast!
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (POWER TRAIN). The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH and overtaking another vehicle, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle spun out of control; however, the contact was able to regain control of the vehicle and then pulled over to the side of the road. The contact attempted to shift the gear lever, and the gear shifter failed to function as intended. The contact switched to manual mode and was able to use the first, second, and third gears, and the vehicle limped to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician performed the powertrain control module software update. The contact asked the dealer if the transmission was repaired, and the dealer refused to repair the transmission, stating that the recall update was completed and that the recall had not specified replacing the transmission. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred on the drive back to the residence. The vehicle was driven in LIMP Mode and the lower gears. The failure was a recurring failure. The contact parked and was no longer driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000.

Got home no fluid leaking out the booster weep hole? because they dont have one anymore? Took master off booster was full of brake fluid had to order both . Lucky I am an old shade tree machinic a person with out knowledge would of crashed ...
Our truck also has a blank or distorted screen when using the rear backup camera. It happens quite often.
Rear backup camera shows a blank screen intermittently / unpredictably. The dealership was unable to replicate it (because it occurs intermittently) while in for another repair so no repair attempt was made. It makes backing out of parking spaces safely difficult. It's been like this for about 5 years. I can make it available for inspection.
Rear view camera inverts the image on screen when the camera is on. No warnings.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The "Brake Fluid Low" message was displayed on the instrument panel soon after the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, and brake fluid was added; however, the failure persisted while continuing to drive. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure, and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. While at the dealer, the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective brake master cylinder and brake booster. The contact was informed that the parts needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 166,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact’s wife stated that while starting the vehicle, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard with the low brake fluid warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the brake fluid level was low. The contact added brake fluid to the reservoir, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. However, upon restarting the vehicle, the low brake fluid warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake booster and master cylinder had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,778.
My truck was recalled. Software updated to correct a sudden downshift to 1st. The software update did not correct the problem. The software update was done TWICE. The Dealer said: "Software update doesn't always fix the sudden downshift problem, unfortunately. You will have to pay to correct the sudden downshift problem. Replacing the rails should fix it. Estimate repair would be about 1300.00 " It ended up costing me $1246.79 to repair the "sudden downshift" (which was the reason for the Safety Recall Notice 24S37 / NHTSA Recall 24V444, in the first place) Ford should be forced to reimburse me for paying for the powertrain Safety Recall 24V444, as the software download didn't work and doesn't always work, despite Ford's knowledge of this issue. Their responsibility doesn't end there. I called Ford Customer Service, and they were not helpful.
They have a faulty master cylinder on the brakes causing brake issues. I was driving down state road 80 after hurricane Ian and a car slammed on its brakes in front of me because a vehicle lost a load off of their tailgate. I slammed on my brakes but I didn't break very well. It was very squishy into the floor and I relied on distance. The brakes gave a little assistance
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted. The contact stated that the RPM was raised above 3,000 RPM. The contact stated that no warning light was illuminated. The contact started to pull over, and the vehicle started driving, and the transmission was shifting normally. The contact stated that the software update for NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000 (Power Train) was performed several months prior to the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle had never experienced an unexpected downshift failure prior to the software update. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and it was determined that the transmission lead frame module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the transmission suddenly downshifted into first gear, causing the vehicle to abruptly reduce speed. The vehicle was later taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the transmission range circuit and sensor were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced for the NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V444000(POWER TRAIN). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 149,000.
Vehicle drove fine to work and upon getting in to return home and staring the vehicle, the brake pedal was instantly spongy and low brake fluid alert displayed on dash. There was a difference in 9 hours from when the brakes were fully functional to having brakes were completely out and nonfunctional. Had vehicle towed to local dealership and their diagnosis was "master cylinder is bleeding into the booster" and booster "full of brake fluid." This exact issue has been known and was supposed to be addressed but there have been numerous issues with the new parts installed after the recall leading to subsequent master cylinder/booster failures. Since it has already been "repaired" under the initial recall, the subsequent repair cost $1,300 including diagnostic.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer; however, the dealer offered a diagnosis over the phone and believed that the brake master cylinder was leaking brake fluid into the brake booster. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V332000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. The failure mileage was 144,000.
While driving the 2014 F150, it will down to randomly into first and then also lose power while accelerating between second and third or second and fourth for a brief period of time.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 35 MPH, the steering wheel seized, with the power steering assist warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the electronic power steering module had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
I recieved a Text message months after this happened. They knew about it a month prior. I could have saved alot if they had done there job. Nit following procedures. It says in writing. I was coming to a intersection, proceeding to stop, and it would not let me. I was standing on the brake peddle with both feet( I am 275lb, 6'7 ,) I ran into back of van, was Sued, and my insurance went up. I lost not one but 2 raptors to the same issue. The second one I rolled. 2012
While leaving the VA parking lot, and after breaking 3 times on the way out, as I approached a major intersection, the break pedal dropped to the floor and a low break fluid warning appeared on the display. My slow approach allowed me to stop. Checked the reservoir and it was empty. I walked to the gas station and purchased break fluid, when I returned, I checked under the vehicle for a leak, to no avail. I walked back to the spot I was parked but there was no indication of a leak. I was able to get my car home, and filled the break container intending on bleeding the lines; however, Florida weather forced to wait a day. Today, Saturday, I proceeded to bleed the lines but the reservoir was empty. Again, no signs of leakage around tires, break lines, reservoir, master cylinder. Everything I have searched regarding this indicates a large population of 2024-18 F150 with a master cylinder failure.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at slower speeds, the vehicle hesitated while coming to a complete stop. After receiving a call from Mullinax Ford in Mobile, AL regarding a recall for our 2014 Ford F-150 Raptor (recall related to unexpected downshifting), I brought the vehicle to my workplace on [XXX], where a technician performed the software update (flash) on-site. Before the update, the vehicle was functioning without issue. That same evening while driving home, I experienced extremely hard downshifting, initially in lower gears, and worsening over time. The truck now violently downshifts, primarily into 4th gear, and sounds as if the transmission is slipping. I drove the truck again the next morning and the symptoms persisted. I contacted Zachary, the original representative at the dealership, who said it may be part of the “relearning” process. My husband drove it a week later after returning from a business trip and he confirmed the issue. It has progressively worsened to the point of being undrivable. We returned the truck to Mullinax Ford for evaluation on 7/29/25, and they claimed the failure was unrelated to the update and that the transmission needed to be replaced, at our expense. The truck unpredictably drops gears at high speeds, creating a sudden jerk that could lead to loss of control. This poses a serious safety risk to both the driver and others on the road. The dealership performed the recall software update and later diagnosed the truck with transmission failure, but is denying responsibility. No other third-party inspections have been done at this time. Ther
Vehicle Information: 2014 Ford F-150 VIN [XXX] Transmission: 6R80 Description of the problem: My 2014 Ford F-150 has a dangerous transmission issue. It suddenly downshifts from higher gears (like 4th or 5th) into 1st gear while driving, without warning. This creates a serious risk of loss of control or rear-end collision. Ford performed the recall for the 6R80 PCM reprogramming, but the issue persists. The problem was not resolved, and the vehicle still downshifts abruptly. My vehicle has over 200,000 miles, so the extended warranty for the lead frame (program 19N01) no longer applies, but this is a serious safety defect that continues after the recall. I’m requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue, as it seems the recall fix is not effective in all cases. Many other owners report similar symptoms even after the recall. Safety concern: I feel unsafe driving this vehicle. The transmission can cause a sudden deceleration in traffic, and I fear it may lead to an accident. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
