The master brake cylinder and components thereof are leaking and failing, leading to decrease braking power. Yes it is available for inspection. But FORD says my truck is not covered under the recall 20S31. Having this problem puts my family in danger every time we drive this vehicle, I have 3 young children 11,8, & 6 years old. There was no warning light or message prior to the failure. When I called FORD they said it was not covered under the recall and basically it was my problem for repair.

My 2014 Ford F-150 is exhibiting symptoms consistent with the Ford transmission molded lead frame safety recall 24S37. While driving approximately 55 mph late at night on a five-lane roadway, the vehicle suddenly and violently jerked, downshifted and came to a complete stop becoming stalled out as I was approaching a major traffic intersection. The truck was disabled in traffic and would not restart for approximately 2-3 minutes, leaving me stranded in an active travel lane and at risk of being struck from behind by another vehicle at high speed. The vehicle has displayed transmission-related symptoms including inability to correctly indicate gear position, harsh shifting, unexpected downshifts into 1st gear while driving, transmission fault warnings, and check engine lights. Initially it was mostly dying while idling and we thought it was the common "Fuse 27" issue, being unaware of the recall. Then the condition reproduced multiple times and symptoms worsened dramatically. Ford dealership inspected the vehicle. According to the technician's written report, the truck was found to be "having transmission problems, unable see what gear the truck is in and shifts to 1st gear while driving" and recommended replacement of the molded lead frame. The dealership confirmed transmission-related diagnostic trouble codes were present and documented symptoms consistent with lead frame failure. Despite the recommendation of the lead frame replacement and documenting symptoms consistent wi

In 2025 I took my truck in for a recall reference 24S37 which was a software update to prevent intermittent failure of my output shaft sensor in my transmission. I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2014 Ford F-150 XLT equipped with the 6R80 transmission. My vehicle previously received Recall 24S37 in 2024 for the known transmission downshift safety defect involving Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor signal loss. Despite completion of the recall repair, my vehicle is now exhibiting the same dangerous symptoms associated with the recall condition, including: • Sudden erratic transmission behavior• Speedometer intermittently dropping to zero while driving• Wrench warning light activation• Check engine warning light• Airbag warning light• Unsafe drivability conditions and intermittent limp mode operation These symptoms create a serious safety concern because the vehicle unexpectedly changes driving behavior and loses speed signal information while operating on public roads. I presented the vehicle to Dick Smith Ford in Columbia, South Carolina for evaluation and was informed the truck requires a complete transmission replacement estimated at approximately $11,000. After extensive research, I discovered many Ford truck owners nationwide reporting nearly identical symptoms involving the 6R80 transmission, molded lead frame failures, OSS sensor failures, and unintended downshifting conditions. Ford previously acknowledged similar issues in Recall 24S37 and Customer Satisfaction Program 19N01. I am concerned the original recall remedy may not fully address the underlying hardware failure associated with this transmission system. My vehic

While driving, transmission will randomly shift gears from a higher gear all the way down to first gear regardless of travel speed. When traveling at highway speeds, this results in a loss of traction on the rear wheels, causing fishtailing and a momentary loss of control. This problem is getting worse, and is the result of a known defect in the transmission speed sensor that has been acknowledged by Ford in previous recalls. The previous recall repair attempt by Ford involved a dealer reset of the computer rather than replacing the defective sensor, which did not fix the problem. The frequency of this sudden downshift is approximately 2-4 times per ten miles driven.

My 2014 Ford F150 truck went into “limp mode” last week. A wrench showed up on my dashboard, my speedometer didn’t function, and it sounded like the transmission was “winding up” if I tried to accelerate. After hitting “ok” to remove the wrench and restarting the truck a couple of times, my check engine light illuminated. I was driving at about 40 MPH when this occurred and it was a scary moment. Luckily I was able to keep my truck under control and drove very slowly back home considering I was less than 4 miles from my home. The truck went into a Ford dealership in 2024 for the “transmission recall” in which the only thing I noticed different was that I couldn’t see the digital shifting of the transmission on the screen anymore and they “killed” my battery. I still had issues every so often with power loss or the transmission shifting down abruptly, but it wouldn’t throw a code. Last week it threw a code. P0720 to be exact, the reason for the transmission recall in the first place. There was no fix done with the recall and it made it so that I had to watch my RPM’s to track my transmission shifting. This is extremely concerning especially since I was having the issues prior to a computer reprogram and it wasn’t addressed. I have also seen that there’s yet another Ford transmission recall that could affect my truck considering it was assembled in June 2014 and fits the transmission 6R80 that needs fixed. Could someone please help? Thank you.

I have had the 24S37 recall applied to my truck it was a software update, after the update it was ok for about a month then the problem became worse than it was before the software update. My truck is now downshifting and locking up the rear wheels and dose not shift sometimes and skips gears. This problem is getting worse everyday. I talked to the Ford dealership by my house and they told me I needed to buy a new transmission from them and there was no remedy for my problem other than the new transmission. I noticed the are recalling the 2015 trucks with the same transmission problem. Will my truck be added to the recall ? I have the same transmission

Complaint Description: Unintended Transmission Downshift Vehicle: 2014 Ford F-150 Issue: Intermittent Transmission Malfunction / Severe Unintended Downshifting Detailed Symptoms: Sudden Downshifting: While traveling at cruising speeds (typically in 4th or 5th gear), the vehicle occasionally performs an uncommanded downshift directly into 1st gear without driver input. Start-up Stalling: The vehicle intermittently becomes "stuck" in 1st gear upon acceleration from a stop, refusing to upshift into higher gears. Lack of Warning: These events occur with zero warning signs. No "Check Engine" light, "Wrench" icon, or transmission temperature warnings appear on the dashboard before, during, or after the incident. Recall History: The vehicle previously received the official Ford recall repair for the Lead Frame/Output Speed Sensor issue, yet the life-threatening symptoms have persisted or returned. Diagnostic History: The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Ford dealership on two separate occasions. The technicians reported that they were "unable to duplicate the failure" and found no stored error codes, leaving the safety defect unresolved. Safety Concern: I am filing this complaint because the sudden shift to 1st gear at high speeds causes a violent deceleration (similar to slamming on the brakes), which risks a loss of vehicle control or a high-speed rear-end collision. I have raised this issue to Ford customer relation department as well. Case# CXH07719550, Date: 04/20/20

It was Tuesday 04/14 I had just left a store. Drove to the corner stop sign and applied the breaks which have always been just fine, easy to stop and slow. Until thst day I eased on the breaks and all of a sudden the peddle went to the floor. I came home and called my mechanic shop. They told me to bring it in. When I did they told me the master cylinder had gone out and was leaking all into the booster. They felt it was unsafe for me to drive it. They gave me a loaner vehicle. Upon returning to my home that's when I saw all the break fluid running down my driveway where I had parked when I got home from the store the day prior. Which I hadn't noticed before. So, now I'm without my vehicle because I simply can't afford a $900 repair bill. I've looked it up and on your website it shows in 2025 there was a recall on the 2014 Ford F-150 that named the master cylinder as a problem. It also stated that on Google. Please help.

Consistent with NHTSA Recall bulletin 24V444000, my truck suddenly downshifts on its own from 5th or 6th gear to 1st or 2nd gear, even at highway speeds. When that happens, the RPMs increase dramatically and the truck slows down. I have almost wrecked while driving in snow when this happens, because the rear wheels slide out of control when the transmission drops to 1st or 2nd gear. So, why isn't my truck covered by this recall bulletin? This has been occurring with increasing frequency for over three months. Today (3-18-26) it occurred at least eight (8) times - and it's snowing.

I am aware this year f150 had issues with steering recall. My model did not come up as recall. However, I twice have had steering issues. On 04/26/24 I had the steering assembly repaired, car went into limp mode while driving. It cost $1,505.45 for the parts and it had to be reprogrammed at dealership $225.00. Total was $2,359.14. Now this week 03/10/2026 the steering is hanging up again and it is in shop. It seems odd my truck was not part of the recall. As longtime Ford buyer and relative of many Ford employees around Detroit, this is disturbing. Especially with STEERING !!!!! I will try to attach prior receipt.

This car is loosing control due to the sudden shifting of the gears. The car suddenly goes into first gear, causing the car to go into a safety mode

There have been sudden downshifts occurring at any speed while driving. For example, downshifting from 6th gear to 1st gear while on the interstate driving around 70 mph. Or driving 40 mph on a public, decently popular road and having the downshift occur suddenly. Occurred 4 times in one day and almost was in a crash each time it happened. Upon researching this issue, there is a Ford recall “24S37” for this exact issue and it covers 2014 F-150’s from the Kansas City Plant during the dates of July 26, 2013 through December 23, 2014. But yet my specific vehicle isn’t recalled even though it’s from the Kansas City Plant and departed from that plant on November 18, 2014. Ford was called and notified of this incident but it’s been a week now with no update or response from them about getting my vehicle the necessary repairs needed so I can safely drive again. There is no sense of urgency any time I have called their Customer Service department even though I remind them every time I am currently without a car since mine is dangerous and unsafe to drive. This vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership many times for other repairs and this issue was never addressed or notated. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed prior to these incidents, the downshifts just occurred randomly with no prompting.

I had the factory recall done at a local dealership. The ensured me the programming was completed to solve the down shifting of gears while driving. It’s been a couple years since the reprogramming and I still have problems with the truck downshifting at different speeds. It also indicates the wrench on the screen and makes all the gauges including the screen, stop working. During acceleration, if you are merging and need extra speed, the truck stops accelerating and slows down. The only way to reset the wrench on the screen is to stop the vehicle immediately and shut it off until the mileage indicator shows the mileage the vehicle has. Several posts online indicate the same issues for those who own the F150. Driving on the freeway at freeway speeds the truck shifted into first gear while traveling at 75 mph. The tires skidded and the truck jerked hard when it happened. It startled myself and my kids who were in the truck.

My 2014 f150 xlt Ecoboost 4x,4 was experiencing symptoms directly related to Recall 24S37 / 24V444 (erratic/harsh shifting while on the highway). P0606, P0607 (PCM Processor Faults) P0706, P0707 (Transmission Range Sensor issues) P1702-00 (TRS Circuit Intermittent) P1921-00 (Transmission Range Signal issues) This was following the software update in the last recall. Plus the truck would not start despite a brand new battery. I purchased a new lead frame and was told by Ford to take it to Conklin Automotive in Newton Ks so I had it towed Jan 7th. My truck is still there. They replaced the lead frame but released it to me without a diagnosis, without replacing transmission fluid due to a stripped dipstick they were unable to remove, without trying the many options for removal or refilling it and without checking to see if the lead frame fixed the main issue. I had said from the beginning they needed to check the neutral safety switch and fuses. Finally by end of Jan he checked and found a corroded fuse and the truck started but because of refusal to refill the fluid they didn't check the lead frame. So I have had to rent cars for a month resulting in financial distress and return the truck to a different shop to be fixed. Ford refuses to honor the recall even tho it was extended to my year and model of truck, and refuses to help because Conklin, where they told me to go, is not an authorized dealership. I need to open a safety case. My 2014 Ford F-150 had recall 24S37 performed. Immediately after the recall, the steering locked, the truck stopped itself while still in Drive, and a blue oil pressure warning light appeared. The vehicle is unsafe and cannot be driven out of my driveway. The dealership is refusing responsibility and wants to charge diagnostics. I need this inspected and towed under recall responsibility.”

Crank but no start. Found fuse 27 melted. This fuse supplies power to the fuel pump relay which gives the fuel pump power to run. The melted fuse had lost its connectivity. The fuse is a 20 amp. The fuse was not blown. Unable to determine the cause of the heat to melt the fuse. I searched YouTube and found that this is a common problem with the f150 with the range of 2010 to 2014. Also found that several parts dealers offer a F27 fuse relocation kit as a work around for the problem. The incident happened at home where I was able to research the problem. What if I got stranded in the middle of nowhere, no cell service, and 25 below zero? Worse yet, could this hot spot start a fire under the hood? Why there has not been a recall on this fuse is beyond reasoning tthat the repair is more costly than a life!

Coil packs need constant changing in this vehicle. I’ve owned it almost 8 years and sometimes I would have to change the coil packs more than 1 time a year. Obviously I would change the spark plugs also. But there is always a misfire. A lot with 3 and 5.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
