Vehicle sometimes fails to accelerate when the accelerator is depressed. When this occurs, the vehicle moves forward slightly but then stalls while the engine is still running with no warning lamps or messages displaying. On several occasions this has caused me to enter into traffic (usually from an intersection or parking lot) and then discover the vehicle has stalled and won't accelerate. Removing my foot from the accelerator and then reapplying accelerator pressure usually corrects the issue but creates a dangerous situation and increases the chance for collision. The issue was first noticed on my vehicle about 2 months into ownership and has been reported several times to Vandergriff Toyota, Arlington, Texas. No resolution has been offered as the dealership can't identify or replicate the problem. T-SB-0111-22 was issued in December of 2022 and supposedly addressed this issue, but the problem continued after this work was performed on my truck. This issue is also well documented on the 2022 -2023 Tundra Forums with many owners still experiencing this problem. My vehicle is available for inspection.
Twice it has felt like I was being rear ended. Something is making a slamming motion on the truck when it is stopped. First time was at a stop light, second time was backing up but stopped to put the truck in "drive". I have tried looking up to see if this truck was affected in a 2022 recall but the information is unavailable.

Truck was being driven down the highway about 75mph. And the driver was surprised by a load bang .Glass came into the cab from sunroof. Sunroof exploded.Happened on 7/31/2023 at 9:15am near Angola Indiana on I-69 south. Glass ended up on driver.
The driver side front seat side shield panel cracked two months after vehicle was purchased new. It was replaced under warranty at the Toyota dealership. It cracked again three months later and was replaced again by the Toyota dealership. About 3-4 months later, it cracked again and was replaced by the Toyota dealership. This was on 04-21-23. On June 29, 2023, it cracked again for the fourth time. Dealership so far has not agreed to replace it under warranty and we are pursuing warranty claim with Toyota headquarters. I have owned 5 Toyota trucks and never have had this problem. When the front seat side shield panel cracks, it is a plastic part inside that is breaking. It is probably occurring when entering and exiting the vehicle possibly sliding across the side edge of the seat. There are several of the same problems with the seat posted on the internet for this truck. This is a design flaw and needs to be corrected by Toyota. It creates a safety hazard as you cannot operate the seat properly when it is broken.
Driving down interstate at approximately 75 mph when I heard a loud explosion similar to a gun shot. The sun shade began shaking in my head liner. Once I regained my composure I was able to stop on the side of the interstate and inspect the roof from the outside. The whole middle section of the sunroof has exploded upwards and out of my vehicle.
My vehicle since purchase has had squeaking brakes and the vehicle only has 4500 miles. At the dealership( Wesley Chapel Toyota) today I was told this was a known issue and that its a material issue that is still being addressed by Toyota , yet when I call Toyota directly they have no understanding that any recall is in place and opened a case ( [XXX] ) but also suggested let the NHTSA know. Breaks are critical and don't understand why this is not being addressed in a more expedient manner ; why wait until someone is seriously hurt. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My vehicle was parked next to a fire hydrant and when i returned to the vehicle none of the warning cameras or alerts was able to pick up the object. There seems to be a glitch when the vehicle is turned completely off and then restarted with a small object in the blind spot.

Had been driving for 35 miles on 70mph freeway when dash lights illuminated stating the parking break would not disengage. This truck has an electronic parking break that was not engaged. Truck then said it was going into reduced power mode and shut off acceleration over approx. 5 MPH. I later read the alerts in the Toyota app and it stated “ a malfunction in the electronic control of engine” and a “malfunction in the intelligent control system”. I nearly got rear ended by multiple semis since I had no power. Took truck to dealership but because the “they couldn’t recreate the issue”, they gave the truck back. This is a huge safety issue with these trucks and Toyota needs to do something about it. It appears to be a common issue with the turbos in this new engine.
My gas gauge does not work properly . When I fill it up it showing full. I will put on any where from 40-70 miles and my gauge will show I have 3/4 of a take before empty. Then I turn it off and when I turn it back the gauge goes back to full. Went to a dealership twice . The first time they replace a gas pump and some other things. I picked it up drove it around and the same thing happened. Took it in a second time and they told me Toyota has no solution to fix my gauge .
Toyota tonneau cover was recalled by toyota for flying off back of Tundras. - bought tundra, few months later bought a tonneau cover from another toyota dealership. Toyota took cover from me for a recall in April in Columbus OH. corp Toy said they would send the check after it was sent back. While driving off from a red light, we experienced a severe jolt from when the emergency braking system engaged on its own. There was no vehicle in front us at the time of the incident. The sudden stop was so severe, I thought we had gotten rear ended. This is the second time this incident has happened to us in this vehicle. The first time my wife and 3 small children were accelerating from a stop sign. The truck came to a violent sudden stop. My wife was terrified. We took the vehicle to the dealership. They could not tell us what had happened. They reset the computer and told us it would not happen again. This last incident happen on 6/13/2023. The 2022 Tundra Limited Edition has 8,508. Miles. I bought a new vehicle to make sure my family would feel safe. We are terrified of driving this truck, because it may cause us to get into an accident.
While pulling forward, at a green light, the autonomous braking system activated as the vehicle in front of me was moving away. The automatic braking system should not have activated at this time. This the third time this has happened with this vehicle.

The vehicle suffers extreme throttle lag. Pulling away from a stop sign, or turning into traffic the vehicle does not respond to gentle acceleration. After a few seconds the vehicle jumps forward almost as though it jumps into gear. This has left me sitting in intersections and has placed me in several dangerous situations. This is a safety hazard.

Since owning the vehicle, I still have long lag time when accelerating from a stop. Also, I’m experiencing bad vibrations in the rear of the vehicle which start 5/1/2023. ~10,000miles.
Throttle sticks. When pressing acceleration pedal down from a stop or from a change of reverse to drive, there is a 2 second lag. This issue can cause serious problems if you’re pulling out from a stop sign. A burst of acceleration then happens after the 2 second lag, causing cabin disturbance.

While moving in traffic, the automatic emergency brake system activated as traffic was moving away from the vehicle. There was no reason this system should have activated at this particular time. This is the second time this has occurred in this vehicle.
After one year of ownership. Toyota decided to remove navigation from my display. No longer showing maps. I have to pay 15$ a month to get it back. Also included is remote start. So after buying those things. Toyota can take it away? I don’t feel safe driving around areas without proper guidance.
Brake rotors warped at 30,000 miles. Thats ridiculous. I went 230,000 on my 2011 Tundra with the original rotors when I sold it. There is an issue with the braking system or the technician may have improperly torqued my lug nuts. I personally think Toyota has an issue.
When driving into direction of the sun, the design of the hood has a reflection that hits the driver right in the eye with a magnified and stunningly bright glare. It is so blinding even with sunglassses on that I have to drive with one hand up in view of driving blocking it in order to be able to continue driving. It is every time you drive into the direction of the sun. Incredibly dangerous.
AUTOMATIC BREAKING SYSTEMS - I HAVE HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAKING SYSTEMS IN THIS TRUCK GOING OFF WITHOUT ANYTHING AROUND MY TRUCK. I HAD AN INJURY DUE TO THE BRAKE COMING ON WITHOUT WARNING. I WILL UPLOAD REPORTS TURNED INTO TOYOTA. THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THIS THAT THEY STATED THEY FIXED. WITH IN A WEEK THE TRUCK WAS BACK TO AUTO BRAKING IN PARKING LOTS AND ON THE ROAD WITH NO VEHICLES OR OBSTRUCTIONS AROUND. THROTTLE STICKING ON TRUCK - ALSO A RECALL AND STATED IT WAS FIXED BUT RECALL DID NOT FIX ISSUE. THE THROTTLE WILL STICK AND KEEP REVVING EVEN AFTER LETTING OF THE GAS. THE VEHICLE DURING STOP AND GO ALSO STICKS AND CAUSES THROTTLE TO JAM. ITEMS FREEZING ON THE LED SCREENS - ALSO A RECALL STATED FIXED BY DEALERSHIP. RECALL DID NOT FIX PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRUCK. SENSORS ON VEHICLE GOING OFF EVEN WHEN JUST COLD OR WET - ALSO A RECALL AND IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEMS. I am experiencing a lag in throttle response when going from a stop or slow roll. Trying to pull out into traffic and I push the accelerator and about 1-2 seconds I get nothing then truck lunges forward. Almost like it is going to die then catches itself. This has caused me on several occasions to nearly be hit.
I actually have too very serious issues with my new Tundra. 1) my seat is coming loose from floor of my truck every time I take a corner it feels like it's going to tip over and makes a loud clunk and it feels like the back of the seat is separating from the part where my rear end sits (aka my butt) 2) when it rains the water flows off of the hood and then I am assuming the fan that goes to radiator spits a blast of water right in my driver's side of windshield, this because the poor design of the grill on certain 22 Tundra Limited models. Very dangerous if you ask me or anybody else that has this problem which is quite a few people from what I have seen on 2022 Tundra Forums. Those are just 2 major issues of the many I have.
This message keeps popping up randomly (Parking support malfunction see your dealer) The infotainment keeps restarting its self randomly Both of these have happened more than 20times in the last 2weeks took it to the dealership they said there’s nothing they can do if they can’t duplicate the problem my truck has 20,514 miles all recalls have been done I drive a lot so the 16,000 before my standard 36 month warranty will be up soon The truck was looked at on 01/25/2023 I have video of the radio but can’t upload it
Driving down interstate and heard a loud scraping sound suddenly. We were able to pull off quickly and saw the skid plate had broken and was dragging on road. There was no vibrating of vehicle or any indication of something going wrong before it occurred.
New 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid, 2000 miles, experienced a total system failure while driving, engine, Hybrid system, brake, parking brake etc. all systems failure causing a serious safety issue. Dealership called Toyota as diagnostics instructed them to. They want to replace computer but frankly they have no idea and are guessing making this vehicle completely unsafe as it can never be driven on a highway where another failure would likely cause injury or death. Dealers position is it's not their problem, it's Toyotas!!!
The accelerator is very hesitant from a complete stop. it hesitates and has almost caused several accidents. I took it to the dealership where I purchased it from for its 1st maintenance and told them about the issue and they could not find anything wrong with it. This is a constant persistent complaint. I pick up the vehicle with 27 miles and occurs at every stop, every day. The engine can be hot or cold. There is not any time that this does not happen. They gave me a loaner 2023 tundra and it did not have any issues with the accelerator.
On at least six occasions I have experienced a stall when the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle reports that I need to stop, shift into park and restart the vehicle. It seems to occur mainly when I am slowing down for a stop sign.
I had a blowout on the front passenger side of the truck. The truck was purchased in Oct. 2022 with less than 4K miles. In duration the rim was damaged as well from trying to get to a safe place. To get this truck fixed by a licensed Toyota dealership has been the absolute worst…
The side view camera in the passenger side door mirror flew off while driving on the interstate highway going 75mph. If there was vehicle behind me it would’ve hit they’re windshield.
The truck has a lag when accelerating from a stop, when the throttle finally figured out that it needs to go it lunges extremely fast, happened today in the Walmart parking lot, almost ran over someone because it shot me across the lane to the next parking space,

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
