Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the Driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat. If we reduce the Lumbar Support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product.

Driver's Seat appears to have some play in it where when accelerating or coming to a stop, the seat bottom will move forward and/or backwards. This has continued to happen and after repeated attempts to have the dealer resolve it, they have basically told me it was designed that way. We've never had another Toyota product do this. We do understand there are certain specifications needed to meet safety requirements, but we've sat and driven in other models of the same specifications and their seats do not do this.

The Digital Instrument Cluster continues to have freezing and lagging while in motion. The DTE (Distance To Empty) has reset itself in the midst of driving with no input from the driver. This has continued to happen for multiple months. Also, the Fuel Gauge has become stuck. Toyota did release a TSB (T-SB-0022-23) to "resolve" this issue but it continues to be an issue well into the 2024 model year.

Toyota has issued on previous Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) - T-SB-0111-22 - that Toyota states should resolve an issue with "Hesitation From Stop and Surge Concerns". The TCM -Transmission Control Module - logic has been modified to address these conditions. According to Toyota, this updated logic SHOULD keep this from happening. This TSB was released December 16, 2022. To date, this issue continues to occur. The only way to keep it from happening is to Reset the TCM Learning. This requires the battery to be unplugged for an extended period of time. There was a subsequent TCM logic update for Recall 24TA02 (NHTSA Campaign Number 24V125000). It would seem that this TCM Logic Update has actually caused this condition to be present more often. This is something that we have expressed to our Service Consultant at every visit and it is still occurring over two years later. We have had this happen multiple times while attempting to proceed through a 4-way stop, as well as trying to merge into traffic in slower moving city streets. Tire tread is cracking and breaking away in small chunks. The tires are OEM (Toyota Tundra 22') Bridgestone Dueler H/T 265/70R18 model 685 with manufacture date of 1022. I do not feel safe driving on these tires due to tread rubber breaking away even in the middle of the tire. All four tires show cracks but both rear tires are worse of the four. I have had regular service and tire rotation by Toyota dealership but they did not notify me of the issue. The truck has 17K on it and tires have plenty of tread depth. Location of truck is in the southwest and not is used in cold environment.

Drove the truck to the store, upon starting it to leave the engine had a loud knocking and whining sound (the truck has only 38xxx miles). I drove directly across the street to the dealership who looked and listened to it and was then told that because there was no engine light on, I would have to make an appointment for later on the following week. They then told me because the engine light was not on that I would be fine to drive home. I did question this several times and was reassured that as long as I did not "gas it" I would be okay to drive it. On the ride home, my truck power kept surging, the entire truck was shaking due to the rough idle and the engine smelt like it was very hot. I did end up towing my truck to a different Toyota dealership that agreed to look at it. The truck is no longer drivable. This is the 10th recall on this truck.

Safety concern: Vehicle would not re-start to get off the interstate. Towed to dealer. Dealer acknowledges engine is blown. Toyota guidance is to rebuild engine from parts only. Short block, turbos, heads, coolers, etc. Unacceptable. Complete assembly replacement is more cost effective for manufacturer and dealer both. Note: There were no codes displayed or other indication prior to the abrupt failure.

Throttle hesitation causes unsafe driving. Often times after slowing down at a yield sign and then accelerating there is a hesitation like the accelerator pedal is dead for about 1 second and then the truck suddenly lunges forward. A few months after purchasing my truck I reported the issue to Shelor Toyota and they did TSB 0111-22 which temporarily fixed the problem. Drove the truck for about 10 days and it was hesitation free. After 10 days or so the hesitation returned and it was as bad as ever. It’s very dangerous when driving on wet roads. The danger is slowing down to an almost stop to turn right or left on to another street. Once I complete the turn and try to accelerate on to the next street, I am forced to keep depressing the accelerator more and more to make my truck move forward. A few seconds later when the acceleration does occur, I lose control of the back end because I am now at half throttle om a wet road and it sends too much torque to the rear wheels causing them to lose traction. I’ve tried to adjust my driving habits to allow for the unpredictable throttle response but it is impossible to predict what the throttle response will be from one time to the next. It is a struggle to drive this truck in a safe manner because there is hardly ever any linear acceleration. I took my truck back to Shelor Toyota March 15th 2024 for some warranty work and reported the hesitation had returned right after they previously completed TSB 0111-22. This March 2024 visit to Sh

My children legs can get crushed in an accident or any type of seat movement. This is a safety answer and a concern. Nobody can sit in the back. It's misleading. The truck States as a five-seater. It's not a five-seater. You cannot fit three people in the backseat it's impossible. I tried to trade my truck in for a crew cab which have space in between the seats and the councils and the front seats and the dealership didn't want to work with me. This is a concern. Also, there's still no remedy on the gas line in the front. That's a concern too which can cause a fire double cabs are a safety hazard. Due to the seat space needs to be corrected. A crew cab has space in double cab does not My children were complaining because their knees were rubbing on the backseat and on the console always complaining when I give a ride to a family member, a grown person. They also complain about their knees rubbing on the backseat and on the console. It's very safety hazard if you get into an accident, you can crush your legs and your knees also the problem with the gas line. It's very concerning drive in a highway or in the local roads. I had a 2022 Toyota tundra I bought it new and had it serviced at two Toyota dealerships. The truck had numerous recalls but my truck had no significant problems. I was on a trip 10 hours from my house when I heard a slight knocking sound and noticed oil on the ground under the truck. I checked the oil it was between the two marks but on the low side. I drove it to the nearest Toyota dealership to get it serviced. It was diagnosed with main bearing spun, metal pieces in oil and engine failure. The truck had 63k miles 3k outside of the warranty. There were no warnings lights or check engine or low oil pressure light on at anytime. It is hard to believe a truck can be serviced with no issues to blown engine with no warning lights. I believe Toyota knows about an issue with the early engines but are not informing the customers. If it happens under warranty the will rebuild the engine or buy back the truck. In my case it was 3k outside of warranty and the dealership and Toyota gave no goodwill warranty. I believe being serviced at a dealership they should have been checking the oil for metal particulate at each oil change. In order to fix the problem before engine failure. But that means they would catch more before warranty expiration. Never once were we offered an extended warranty either which I find strange if Toyota didn’t know about the problem. My 2022 Toyota Tundra was serviced regularly at the dealership since it was purchased brand new in December of 2021. I made a point to have it checked out as much as possible due to concerns that were raised by the dealer and online resources that the truck could possibly have major engine issues. On March 26th of 2024 I took my truck to the dealer to have it serviced and they completed everything necessary according to the maintenance recommendations. On April 1st, the following week after service, my engine cut off as I was merging onto the exit lane on I-40 in heavy traffic. I coasted to the bottom of the exit ramp and shifted the truck into park to try restart it. It would not restart so I was stuck in the middle of the ramp at a light until a tow truck came to assist me. After pushing the truck in the grass of the median it was loaded and taken to the nearest Toyota dealership. The next day I received a call that they would need to pull my oil pan to examine it due to the fact that they believed my engine was locked up. Once they pulled the pan and assessed the damage to the tune of $700, I was told that my engine and both of my turbos would need to be replaced because everything was full of metal shavings due to catastrophic engine failure. The total bill would be around $24000.00 for a truck that is 2 years old. Now the warranty on this particular truck is up to 60,000 miles and I am at 64,000. Inaccurate Fuel gauge or fuel consumption tracking to protect a fuel pump. Vehicle equipped with a 32 Gal tank. Vehicle indicates zero miles after 27 gallons are consumed. This leaves 5 Gallons remaining or 15.62% fuel remaining which is excessive error. If you know you have over 100 miles remaining when the software say you are at zero you tend to drive "Past" zero as a matter of normal operation. It would not be unreasonable to wait until 2 gallons remains to refill tank as that would still be 30-46 miles remaining. It was explained to me that the fuel pump uses the "excess" 5 gallons of fuel to keep the fuel pump "Cool" since the fuel pump is a submersed type pump. An overheating pump inside a tank full of fuel vapor might be a significant problem.

On [XXX] I was driving in Connecticut when I realized we had taken the wrong directions. We were following my son’s girlfriend’s iphone which kept changing the directions. When we ended up with an over pass in a parking area I applied my brakes but the brakes didn’t work. I was trying to go left to take an alternate road but couldn’t stop. This kind of thing where the brakes or steering have been happening on and off since we got the truck I believe someone has hacked into it using a car kit is what I found under devices but then it disappeared. It also changes my truck into towing mode which is another thing it does. This is done everyday. I noticed I have no history on my truck. This is because it can be put on and taken off randomly. I believe it is a family members doing this to me. We had a Nissan and they did it to that too. It totaled our new camper. I will have to get USAA TO SEND ME SOME COPIES OF PAPERWORK SINCE SOMEONE KEEPS BREAKING INTO OUR APARTMENT AND STEALING THINGS INCLUDING PAPERWORK. The passenger camera mount is falling out of these trucks on the highway ( multiple incidence’s from owners posts). Toyota corporate is down playing the occurrences and and saying repair is not covered due to cosmetics. It’s a safety feature and Toyota corporate closed my case

Engine completely shut off on me while I was driving on the highway. I barely had enough time to pull off the highway. After restarting the engine it had a knock. Had it towed to the dealership and it needed to have the engine rebuilt. I pursued Texas lemon law since they had my vehicle for over 90 days waiting on the repair.

My 2022 Toyota Tundra 1794 transmission has always shifted hard on the initial start up and while accelerating when changing lanes. Since the truck was new I thought it was due to being new and required a break in period. Now I have own the truck for 15 months the problem still exist. I took the truck to the Toyota Dealership in Moss Point Mississippi in November 2023 and they informed me there were an update computer software program needed to be installed on my Tundra and the problem would be resolved. The problem still exist, the jerking of the transmission has me afraid to drive it.

Brakes are too large, it does not respond quick, I noticed this before buy our unit during a week I rented a tundra to try it due dealers had not vehicles to try. Once we bough ours after drive it enough I informed to the dealer but they said it were ok, but we have a couple incidents and decided to trade the vehicle loosing a lot of money in the trade to get a vehicle with good brakes, less than 2 weeks after we did the trade Toyota called us to see if we were ok due the detected in their system we had a crash, most likely the new owner had an accident

NHTSA Recall Number23V566 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete, remedy not yet available Issue still is not being addressed by Toyota in a reasonable time. Even their so called temporary clip fix is not available. How long do I need to wait for my vehicle to catch fire before someone fixes this issue?

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
