These vehicles had their passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. Defect. Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester vehicles, 2008-2011 Impreza vehicles, 2008-2014 WRX vehicles, 2005-2014 Legacy vehicles, 2005-2014 Outback vehicles and 2006-2008 Tribeca vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition switch installed as a replacement part. The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

Risk. The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. If a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ignition switch, replacing the ignition switch, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WUF-91.

Defect. Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2010-2014 Subaru Legacy and Outback vehicles equipped with a manual transmission. The electronic parking brake (EPB) may not engage as intended, allowing the vehicle to rollaway if the transmission is not in the proper gear when parked.

Risk. A vehicle rollaway can increase the risk of a crash.

Defect. Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 Legacy vehicles manufactured November 26, 2008, to June 7, 2013, and 2010-2014 Outback vehicles manufactured January 9, 2009 to June 7, 2013. Due to contamination, components within the windshield wiper motor bottom cover may interfere with each other. If an obstruction, such as a buildup of snow or ice prevents the wiper arms from being able to stop in the parked position, the wiper motor may overheat and the bottom cover may melt.

Risk. If the windshield wiper motor overheats, the wipers may fail, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the wiper motor cover may melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield wiper motor bottom cover assembly, free of charge. The recall began October 2016. Defect. Subaru is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Legacy and Outback vehicles equipped with an automatic or CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory, certain model year 2012-2013 Impreza vehicles equipped with a CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory, and certain model year 2013 XV Crosstrek vehicles equipped with a CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory. Additionally included are certain model year 2013 Legacy and Outback vehicles that may have received replacement RES fobs. If the RES fob is dropped, the fob may malfunction and randomly transmit an engine start request without pressing the button.

Risk. The engine may inadvertently start and run for up to fifteen minutes. The engine may continue to start and stop until the fob battery is depleted, or until the vehicle runs out of fuel. If the vehicle is parked in an enclosed area, there is a risk of carbon monoxide build-up which may cause headaches, dizziness or, in extreme cases, unconsciousness and/or asphyxiation.

Remedy. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the RES key fobs, free of charge. The recall began on April 22, 2013. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783 for more information.

Defect. Subaru is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 Legacy and Outback vehicles, certain model year 2006 through 2012 Tribeca vehicles sold before January 2012, and certain model year 2009 through 2012 Forester vehicles sold before January 2012. Up to 78,650 of these vehicles may have been equipped with accessory puddle lights that, when illuminated, brighten the area under the doors of the vehicle. A short circuit can develop when either the puddle light or connector are exposed to an electrolytic moisture source (such as road spray that has road salt in it) and it penetrates the circuit board of the puddle light or the pins of the puddle light connector(s).

Risk. Over time, migration of the moisture into the circuit board and/or into the connector cavity, may result in a short circuit of the puddle light system. This may generate heat which may melt the plastic resulting in smoke or fire.

Remedy. Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will install an additional fused-harness, free of charge. The recall began February 19, 2013. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783 for more information.

Defect. SUBARU IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 AND 2011 OUTBACK AND LEGACY PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 28 THROUGH JUNE 23, 2010. DUE TO A PROGRAMMING ERROR, A LUBRICATION HOLE WITHIN THE 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WAS OMITTED.

Risk. IF THE TRANSMISSION GEARS ARE NOT PROPERLY LUBRICATED, A GROANING SOUND MAY BEGIN TO DEVELOP ALERTING THE DRIVER OF A PROBLEM. IF THE SOUND IS IGNORED AND NO ACTION IS TAKEN, THE GEARS WILL EVENTUALLY BREAK AND THIS CONDITION WILL LEAD TO VEHICLE POWER LOSS, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.

Remedy. SUBARU WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE VEHICLES BY DRILLING AN OIL LUBRICATION HOLE AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE INTERNAL PARTS WITH NEW ONES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 28, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUBARU AT 1-800-782-2783.

THE WIRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN ELECTRICAL ROLL CONNECTOR LOCATED BEHIND THE VEHICLE'S STEERING WHEEL MAY DEVELOP STRESS CRACKS AND EVENTUALLY BREAK. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN CERTAIN ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS MAY NOT OPERATE AS INTENDED.

Risk. POSSIBLE CIRCUITS AFFECTED ARE THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIRBAG, PADDLE SHIFTER FUNCTION, CRUISE CONTROL, HORN CONTROL AND RADIO FUNCTIONS INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy. DEALERS WILL CHECK LOT NUMBER OF THE STEERING ROLL CONNECTOR. THE ROLL CONNECTOR WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE IF THE LOT NUMBER SHOWED ANY AFFECTED RANGE OF THE FAILURE OCCURRENCE. Defect. SUBARU IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 OUTBACK AND LEGACY PASSENGER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 31 THROUGH DECEMBER 1, 2009. A CRACK OR SPLIT CAN OCCUR IN THE CVT COOLER HOSE RESULTING IN A FLUID LEAK.

Risk. IF THE FLUID IS COMPLETELY LEAKED DURING DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WILL COME TO A STOP, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A CRASH.

Remedy. SUBARU WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY AFFECTED COOLER HOSES FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JUNE 8, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SUBARU AT 1-800-SUBARU3 (1-800-782-2783).

This is my car, no problem. The problem are these other vehicles with these high beam looking lights. I believe it's LED lights, they are too bright! On a dark one lane road the road in front of me dissappears. I have to completely halt and wait for the vehicle with these lights to pass to see the road. Please regulate these lights to avoid any more accidents due to these lights.

The contact owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle became difficult to maneuver, and there were abnormal sounds coming from underneath the vehicle when the vehicle drove over potholes or objects on the roadway. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the subframe needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

Notice significant rust or corrosion on my 2010 Subaru Legacy, especially on the subframe. Had it professional inspected and confirmed on December 6, 2025 because it was making a squeaky noise when I applied the brakes. I purchased this vehicle 02/15/20 used, was not told about corrosion. Bought vehicle at Maxon Buick GMC in Union, New Jersey. Also,my headlight bulbs keeps going out every year since I purchased my Legacy.

Vehicle was involved in a front-end collision in which the Airbag failed to deploy. The vehicle has been considered totaled by the insurance company. A police report is available.

Stalling at stop lights. More often when it's cold and rainy. This happens to me at minimum 4x a day.

4 WAY REAR BRAKE LINE JUNCTION BOX IS SEVERELY CORRODED/RUSTED AND LEAKING BRAKE FLUID, WHICH COULD LEAD TO BRAKE FAILURE/CAUSE ACCIDENT.

The front subframe of my 2010 Subaru is completely rusted through and is available for inspection. My safety was put at risk because if the subframe broke in half while I was driving it would cause an accident from lack of steering control. Many people online said they had the same problem. The car was vibrating and shaking at high speed. The vehicle has not been inspected by any representatives. Subaru of America was called and they refused to do anything to help us. I am sure there are many more of these cars on the road with this problem who are unaware as I was and it is extremely unsafe. People are going to be killed!!!

The contact’s wife owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the warranty had expired but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 179,000.

The subframe failed. We were told it should not be used till the part is completely replaced. This was after coming back from a trip from New York to WI. After taking it to an independent dealer we were told the part was on back order on July 5th. After being told the part was finally in on August 14th I was told that the Subaru dealership said they made a mistake and that part was not for the independent dealership I’m working threw but for one of their customers. Seems this subframe is such an issue with the Subaru legacy’s that there’s a several week to several months back order. Just wondering if it’s such an issue and possible safety risk why there’s no recall?

Head gasket keeps getting blown not only that overheats after fixtures with the radiator pressure not flowing normal car been fixed more 4 times for radiator issue and now at the shop for the second time for head gasket blown and radiator issue what can I do to this point car has turned off on me on the high way due to overheating and I had to react fast In order to avoid accident

While driving heard a loud crunching noise coming from front driveside wheel area car was hard to control took it to mechanic and found out subframe is rotted and Control arm pulled right out of the subframe

I had a episode of sudden unintended acceleration while I was driving in the highway. If I would let the brake pedal go, my car would probably escalate its speed to maximum until it crashes. The RPM was almost 5 even though I was applying the brake. I could not make it stop by applying the brakes at all . I only could make it finally stop when I changed the gears to neutral and them to park and finally turn the engine off. I was lucky I was in the highway and when I got in the first light it was green, other wise an accident would've happened.

I’m having an issue with my vehicle stalling when I brake and when I come to a stop slowly or on an incline. I haven’t had it tested at a dealership but I have read about the issue among other Subaru owners stating it is possible the torque converter in the CVT and that Subaru isn’t recalling it. I see this as a major safety concern for myself and others on the road due to its stalling out at a stop or on an incline.

Front subframe has rotted away in several spots. This makes the vehicle extremely unsafe to drive. With possible wheel loss or control of steering. Problem has been confirmed by independent repair shop during state inspection. No warning lights are on or possible for this issue. Issue was first noticed from noise coming from front of vehicle like rocks bouncing around, followed by strong pulling to the right when braking.

I was driving home and heard loud creaking and grinding noises from the front of the car, especially when I was turning or braking. I did use it the next day and it sounded worse. I brought the car to my local repair shop and was told that the problem was a crack in the front sub frame. I did not have an accident or hit anything.

The CVT Transmission has a known problem where the torque converter causes stalling. This issue is well documented on Subaru forums. I took my vehicle to Subaru about the problem and they said the fix for the stalling is to replace the Torque Converter., It is not yet covered for a recall despite being such a large issue with these vehicles.

Three identical instances. 1. Was driving down road came to stop light pushed brakes and car stalled out. 2. Was approaching roundabout pushed brakes to wait for traffic and car stalled out. 3. Was on incline at stop pressing brakes, went to push gas and car stalled out. In each instance the car dies completely. You have to take key out, put back in and turn on the vehicle again.

Subaru refuses to do a recall for their CVT transmission issue even though this is a know issue with the 2010-2012 Legacy. The car stalls when coming to a stop. Subaru never informed their owners of an issue and now refuse to pay for any repairs, if this was to become a recall then they would be required to pay for the repairs, and then there would be less unsafe vehicles on the road

1. When coming to a stop the vehicle will shudder and stall. Vehicle drives fine until slowing down to and then will sometimes shudder and stall. 2. The car stalling when slowing down others drivers can hit you as they do not expect you to come to a complete stop. 3. I am taking the car to the dealer tomorrow. 4. I have notified the dealer of the issue and I have found two bulletins from the manufacture regarding this issue, which I found from other people who have complained of the same exact problem with their make of vehicle 5. No warning lights came on, I would slow down for a stop sign and before even stopping the car shudders and stalls, I have to put the car in park to start the and the car so far has started.

The contact owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated while driving at 50 MPH, the emergency brake warning light, traction control, oil pressure warning light, and the cruise control warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to an unknown dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission valve body had failed. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred a week later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with an unknown electrical failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred less than a week later. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who advised the contact to turn off the vehicle, disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, and to then restart the vehicle. The contact followed the instructions however, the failure persisted and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the gas cap was replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

Torque Converter failure - car stalls/shuts off when braking hard. This is a huge safety hazard. Car has 114,852 miles on it and was just recently purchased from a private owner. There should have been a recall for these vehicles from Subaru.

The contact owns a 2010 Subaru Legacy. The contact stated while driving 25 MPH, the traction control, transmission overheating, service brakes, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. There was an abnormal bubbling sound coming from the engine compartment. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, a cause for the failure was not found. When braking and coming to a stop the car shutters and stalls. In order to avoid it, you must put it into neutral or else it will stall and you will have to restart. This is dangerous and a very essential function of the car and needs to be replaced asap. It does this more frequently when coming to an abrupt stop. There can also be lights that sometimes blink - the cruise control light, brake light flashing, and stability control lights. This has been occurring for many years and i have tried to get it replaced and fixed but it was unknown what would fix this issue exactly so it was just money wasted.

THE DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE CONVERTER NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT SUBARU USA IS UNWILLING TO OFFER SUPPORT DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING OUTSIDE THE 'EXTENDED WARRANTY'. THE INFORMATION ORIGINALLY DISCLOSED BY SUBARU DID NOT SAY THAT THE VEHICLE MAY STALL. THIS HAS NOW BECOME A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WHICH COULD LEAVE INDIVIDUALS SEVERELY INJURED OR DEAD IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR AT AN UNFORTUNATE MOMENT. DEALERSHIP ESTIMATED THE REPAIRS AT ABOUT $3,028 PLUS TAX.

VEHICLE SHAKES AND THEN STALLS WHEN COMING TO A RAPID STOP AND NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PARK TO RESTART. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I WAS ALMOST SMASHED INTO ON A BUSY HIGHWAY . THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A CREDIT TOWARDS ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 12/21/2010. THE MILEAGE IS 61,259 AND I HAVE OWNED IT FOR 9 YEARS, 4 MONTHS AND 28 DAYS. THE CAR IS NOW STALLING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS AND WHILE IDLING. 2010 SUBARU LEGACY WITH APPROX 105000 MILES CAR STALLS WHEN COMING TO A RAPID STOP AND NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PARK TO RESTART.THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF IT STALLS IN AN INTERSECTION. SUBARU REFUSES TO FIX THIS ISSUE SINCE THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. UPDATE: THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MY MOTHER HAS BEEN CONDITIONED TO NOT HIT THE BRAKES TOO HARD FOR FEAR OF STALLING THE VEHICLE. RECENTLY, A VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP IN FRONT OF HER, AND SHE DID NOT APPLY THE BRAKES HARD ENOUGH TO AVOID A COLLISION. THANKFULLY NOBODY WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, BUT MY MOTHER DID SUSTAIN SOME MINOR NECK PAIN THE DAY AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND KNOWN ISSUE THAT SUBARU REFUSES TO RESOLVE.

THE VEHICLE HAS AN ISSUE WHERE IT WILL STALL OUT WHEN THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED MODERATELY TO FIRMLY. THE DRIVER MUST MAKE A VERY SLOW STOP TO AVOID STALLING THE CAR. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS, AS IF A DRIVER HAS TO PANIC BRAKE, FOLLOWED BY A SUDDEN ACCELERATION TO AVOID A REAR-END COLLISION (I'VE PERSONALLY HAD TO DO THIS A FEW TIMES), THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE STALLED AND CAN NO LONGER ACCELERATE. I HAVE CONTACTED SUBARU OF AMERICA, BUT BECAUSE IT IS OUTSIDE OF THEIR 100K MILE "EXTENDED TRANSMISSION WARRANTY" THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING. THEY ISSUED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR THIS EXACT REASON, AND TO AVOID A RECALL. AT THIS POINT, I BELIEVE THE NHTSA SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL, AS THESE CARS ARE VERY DANGEROUS TO THE DRIVER AND OTHER VEHICLES ON THE ROAD.

MY SISTER AND I HAVE THE SAME EXACT CAR JUST ONE YEAR APART AND THEY BOTH STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS AN AUTOMATIC. THE LIGHTS STAY ON CONSTANTLY MAKING IT UNABLE FOR ME TO USE MY CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CAR TO STALL WHEN COMING TO A STOP AT ANY SPEED. I ALSO KNOW SEVERAL OTHERS WITH THE SAME MODEL THAT HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND ALSO SEE VIDEOS OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE ON YOUTUBE AND THEM BEING UNSURE OF THE PROBLEM TO FIX IT.

MANY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD COME ON SIMULTANEOUSLY FOR NO APPARENT REASON. USUALLY THE LIGHTS FLASH OFF AND ON. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH THE AUTO CHECKED BY A GARAGE SERVAL TIMES BUT THE VEHICLE INDICATES THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WHEN TESTED BY A TECHNICIAN. THIS PROBLEM HAS CAUSED SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE CAR. WHEN AN OIL CHANGE SHOP LEFT THE LID TO THE COOLANT SYSTEM OPEN I DID NOT RECOGNIZE THERE WAS A PROBLEM UNTIL I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND SAW STEAM COMING FROM THE ENGINE, IE MANY DASHBOARD LIGHTS WERE FLASHING NOT JUST THE ONE FOR COOLANT SYSTEM. THE PROBLEM IS LIKE BOY WHO FALSELY CALLED "WOLF" TOO OFTEN.

WHILE CROSSING A BUSY STREET I WAS FORCED TO BRAKE HARD AND QUICKLY BECAUSE THE CAR AHEAD OF ME SUDDENLY STOPPED. MY SUBARU'S ENGINE THEN STALLED. I WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BOTH THE REAR END AND FROM THE SIDE BECAUSE I COULDN'T START MY CAR FAST ENOUGH. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATES THAT THIS IS DUE TO A BAD TORQUE CONVERTER ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE 2010 LEGACY, BUT THEY WILL NOT AND THE NHTSA WON'T FORCE THEM TO DO A RECALL. HOWEVER, MY CAR IS 16,000 MILES OUTSIDE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY ESTABLISHED WHEN THEY FOUND OUT ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY INDICATED THAT I COULD HAVE RESOLVED THIS ISSUE BY JULY 2018 AT NO COST. HOWEVER, SINCE THAT DATE HAS PAST I'M OUT OF LUCK AND MUST PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. ALSO, THE CAR DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE PROBLEMS THEN, SO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE DONE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE FOR IT ANYWAY. THEREFORE, I MUST NOW DRIVE AROUND A CAR THAT STALLS WHENEVER I BRAKE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO HER STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER BANK WOULD FILE A CLAIM ON HER BEHALF IF THE DEALER DID NOT REFUND HER MONEY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.

WHILE IN MOTION AND COMING TO STOPS THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND SHAKES AND DIES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A MONTH. IT COULD LEAD TO A COLLISION FROM THE REAR AS I HAVE TO RESTART IT. PLEASE HELP!

OVER THE PAST 9.5 YEARS THAT I'VE OWNED THE CAR, I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT BULBS ON BOTH SIDES AT LEAST 5 TIMES IN EACH SIDE. CAR OFTEN SHUDDERS & STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP ON A CITY STREET ALSO WILL SOMETIME STALL WHEN GOING SLOW TO TURN INTO A PARKING SPACE.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IT FREQUENTLY JOLTS, MAKES A SCREECHING NOISE AND IT IS SCARY BECAUSE IT ALSO FEELS AS THOUGH IT MAY SIMPLY TURN OFF. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND I WAS INFORMED THAT SUBARU IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THAT THEY WOULD LIKELY TAKE CARE OF REPAIRING THE TRANSMISSION ($7,000). HOWEVER, SUBARU HAS CONTACTED ME WITH THE OFFER TO PAY ONLY $2,500 OF THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIR. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT SUBARU RECALLED THESE (CVT) TRANSMISSIONS, BEGINNING WITH 2012 MODELS; HOWEVER, THEY ARE AWARE THAT THE PROBLEM ALSO EXISTS IN THE 2010 OUTBACK AND LEGACY, BOTH OF WHICH MY HUSBAND AND I OWN AND DRIVE, RESPECTIVELY.

ON NIGHT OF NOVEMBER 8, 2018 VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 55 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN AND WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. VEHICLE TOWED TO SUBARU SERVICE CENTER WHO ADVISED "NO OIL SHOWN ON DIPSTICK, DRAINED OIL FOUND ONLY ABOUT 1/2 QUART IN ENGINE, OIL WAS CONTAMINATED WITH CHUNKS OF METAL, ADDED OIL AND STARTED ENGINE, VERIFIED ENGINE HAD A BROKEN CONNECTING ROD AND ONLY RUNNING ON 3 CYLINDERS. VEHICLE HAS 115,437 MILES ON IT, OIL CHANGE STICK SHOWS DUE AT 114,109, 1,328 OVER DUE FOR OIL CHANGE. RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS WATER INTRUSION. RECOMMEND REPLACE ENGINE". THE LAST TIME THE OIL WAS CHANGED WAS ON AUGUST 22, 2018 AT A SUBARU SERVICE CENTER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS MAINTAINED ON A REGULAR BASIS. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE OIL BURNED OFF DUE TO THE SAME ISSUES IN OTHER SUBARU LEGACY VEHICLES THEREFORE CAUSING THE BROKEN CONNECTING ROD. OWNER NEVER RECEIVED NOTIFICATIONS OF EXTENSIONS OF WARRANTY ON TRANSMISSION/POWER TRAIN AND SUBARU SERVICE DEALER NEVER ADVISED OWNER DURING ANY OF THE MAINTENANCE APPOINTMENTS THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH OIL LEAKS AND TRANSMISSION ISSUES. OWNER WAS LEFT IN DANGER ON A DARK HIGHWAY JUST OUTSIDE OF A TUNNEL, WITH NO LIGHTS, NO BATTERY POWER AND STATE T

WHILE DRIVING OUR 2010 SUBARU LEGACY WHICH WE HAD PURCHASED BRAND NEW AND HAS CURRENTLY 95,000 MILES IT STARTED MAKING A LOUD CRUNCHING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT CENTER WHEEL AREA AND PULLED HARD TO THE LEFT WHEN BREAKING. WE TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC AND A CERTIFIED SUBARU REPAIR SHOP AND THEY BOTH INFORMED US THAT IT'S A TOTALLY LOST AND NOT WORTH REPAIRING THAT THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS ROTTED, SPECIFICALLY AN ISSUE WITH THE LEFT TRAVERSE LINK AREA. THIS IS EXTACTLY THE SAME ISSUE SUBARU HAS HAD IN THE PAST WITH OLDER MODELS. WE CALLED SUBARU AND THERE ARE NO RECALLS YET.
