Crossroads RV reported this defect to federal regulators on Jan 10, 2005 and put the number of vehicles at risk at 5,890. The repair is free for as long as the recall stands.
The defect
CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS HAVE IMPROPERLY INSTALLED FURNACE EXHAUST VENTS.
The risk
IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR LACK OF THE FURNACE EXHAUST VENT WILL ALLOW THE EXHAUST FUMES, CONTAINING COMBUSTION PRODUCTS INCLUDING HIGH CONCENTRATIONS OF CARBON MONOXIDE GAS, TO ENTER INTO THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE AND COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO OCCUPANTS OF THE TRAILER.
The remedy
OWNERS/DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FURNACE EXHAUST VENT AND, IF NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED, THE DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE EXHAUST VENT FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS ARE BEING INSTRUCTED NOT TO USE THE FURNACE UNTIL THE EXHAUST VENT HAS BEEN INSPECTED AND IS PROPERLY REPAIRED. THE RECALL BEGAN FEBRUARY 2, 2005. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CROSSROADS AT 260-593-2866.

A recall is not an opinion. It is a Part 573 report a manufacturer is required by federal law to file once it decides a defect poses an unreasonable risk to safety, and it commits them to repairing the vehicle at no cost to the owner. The three passages above are the manufacturer’s own wording as published by NHTSA.
This page describes the campaign. It cannot tell you whether one particular car has already been through the shop — that is tracked by VIN, and only the manufacturer knows it. Check yours at nhtsa.gov/recalls or with a franchised dealer, quoting campaign number 05V006000.
