The ABS system in my truck has failed 2 times in the past 2 years. The ABS module failed at 36,000 miles was replaced in fall 2021 with a "updated" AB part number. Less than 2 years later in the fall of 2023 the ABS failed again at 60,000 miles. At this time I was told that the replacement parts were not available until march 2024. Parts availability has been pushed back and I have no idea when they will become available. I am left with a vehicle that has no function ABS system, stability control or cruise control.

For the second time since the vehicle's purchase in 2019, the Antilock Braking System is flashing an intermittent error stating that the Antilock Braking System needs to be serviced. When the system flashes the error, the antilock brakes, cruise control, and stability control become disabled. The error sometimes will clear itself, and then immediately return a minute or two later. Three years ago I had this same issue repaired once before under the vehicle warranty. At that time, I was told the Hydraulic Control Unit for the ABS system had failed. Now, without warning or reason the system is failing once again and RAM refuses to replace this defective part. Through an online investigation, I have discovered that thousands of Ram owners are experiencing the same defective part and circumstances. Without proper functioning brakes, antilocking brakes and stability control, the vehicle cannot be driven without great risk to the vehicle's operator and occupants, and additionally other motorists.

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 with 35,500 miles, [XXX] . there is a well-known issue regarding the anti-Lock Braking Systems which effects 2017 and 2018 models which, Stellantis -RAM refuses to address. My truck suffers from this issue, the ABS and traction control warning lights constantly flicker on and off and there is an audible ding when this occurs. My local dealer diagnosed the problem, and the truck needs to have the HCU and ABS modules replaced. The cost to perform this work is nearly $2,000 since the parts are expensive and there is a fair amount of programming which needs to occur. Codes from ABS scanner: Ram ABS C2200-49(1/2) Stored Anti-lock Brake Module Internal - Internal Electronic C0090-01(2 / 2) Active ABS Pump Motor Control - General Electrical Failure Besides the cost the main issue is that the parts are not even available. I have been waiting on the parts since July 2023, my dealer says the next "production" date for the part is late June. I received this same type of response 2 times already, first for November, then February now June. Last I checked there are over 400 requests for these parts before me. At this point I drive an unsafe vehicle with no ABS or traction control, and I can’t even get it repaired . I also can’t use the truck for its intended purpose of towing. I’m looking for some assistance in this matter. There is also an active Class action lawsuit against Stellantis to provide relief for owners of these trucks, myself being one. [XXX] Thank you

ABS and Traction light on dash. Chiming of alarm. This alarm turns off cruise control and feels like it applies the brakes at 70 mph. Lots of brake dust accumulating on my rims. It happens some days but not every day. Some days there is a constant alarm chime and cruise won't activate. On 10/24/23, parts weren't scheduled to be released until February 2024. Charged over $100 diagnostic fee for the ABS, traction control lights on the dash. By looking at other reports, this has been an issue for several years. They have known for over 2 years that there is an issue. Why is it taking so long to get a fix in place? ABS is a safety system. This should be a recall. The recall should cover replacing the brake pads and rotors also.

For 8 Months, I have had the ABS, Traction Control, and Service Electronic Braking System Lights/Messages illuminated, with endless warning chimes while driving. ABS light came on several months ago. Trusted local diesel mechanic tells us it's a common problem with 2018 RAM trucks and it will cost minimum $2000.00-$4000.00 to fix. A visit to the local RAM dealership in January 2024 advised us that RAM will not have the part available until at least June 2024 and that the fix would 100% be our cost and not covered by any kind of warranty.

In April , 2020, I contacted the RAM dealership because the "Service Electronic Braking System" warning light was coming on intermittently in my truck. It took two months to get an appointment scheduled at which time the truck was diagnosed with a faulty ABS hydraulic module. Estimated delivery time for the replacement part was an additional two months which made the truck over the 36000 mile warranty period. An appointment was made to have the part replaced but when I took the vehicle in I was advised there was no mechanic available to do the work. I purchased the part and had it installed by another dealer at a total cost of $986.86. The exact same problem reoccurred in May, 2022 and the part was replaced at a cost of $882.01. The problem reoccurred again in April, 2023 and was misdiagnosed as a computer problem which was repaired at a cost of $722.80. A new hydraulic module was then ordered to actually fix the problem and here it is a year later and there is still no firm delivery date available. The alarm and warning light flash almost constantly. We have had three close calls in the rain due to the failure of the ABS system and at this point I feel the vehicle is unsafe to drive. In addition to the ABS system malfunctioning, this problem also makes the cruise control inoperable. Recently the right front brake has begun to chatter making the vehicle pull to the right.

They notified me that there is a known problem with these parts and there are no parts available. They ordered the parts for me, it is now April 22, 2024, and they still say there are no parts available. I also had contacted another dealer who stated the same situation, there are no parts available, and that the brake issues are an ongoing problem that Dodge is not taking care of. My truck is unsafe, there are tens of thousands of these trucks that are unsafe. The manufacturer should be made to correct the problems and fix the trucks.

The remedy for the recall called for the dealer to check the steering linkage jam nut tightness, replacing the drag link assembly, or welding the nut to the adjuster sleeve. The contact recently took the vehicle to an independent mechanic for a wheel alignment and was informed that the alignment could not be performed due to the welding of the drag link. The contact was informed that the drag link would have to be cut to perform the wheel alignment.
