For Etorque models this absolutely IS a safety concern!! There's a potential for the leak resulting from a manufacturer defect and they're actively repairing that very issue on my truck. This defect is known to cause the rear seat area to accumulate water/moisture.This leak is a known issue, then shouldn't the etorque system (48 volt battery) be shielded from the potential risk of water exposure? This is a 48 volt battery. Water and electricity together could cause multiple safety issues.There could be a short or electrical or computer failure.. Shutting the vehicle down while driving or worse yet starting a fire inside the cab of the truck causing possible multiple injuries or fatalities! THIS PROBLEM IS DANGEROUS!! It should be recalled and reengineered BEFORE injuries or fatalities occur!! Hello.. I purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 limited with the 5.7 etorque VIN# [XXX] with approximately 32000 miles on it in December of 2021 from Barton Cadillac in Newburgh N.Y.. I've put about 2000 miles more on it. About 2 weeks ago upon startup my low voltage light lit up. As the engine ran for a few seconds, the voltage continued to drop even more into the very low 11's with the red warning light illuminated....After about a minute and a half, abruptly, the voltage soared up to normal range ..14 - 14.2 volts..This happened multiple times..Finally I brought it in to Hudson Valley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Newburgh NY...I was told I probably needed a new battery..So they replaced my battery but the problem was still there...So I went back and they searched for codes with their scan tool and found many pertaining to the etorque battery and components behind the rear seat...They told me water had leaked in through cracks on the plastic frame of the rear window onto the etorque battery pack and other electronic components and ruined them..They said It wasn't covered under the etorque 8 year or 80000 mile warranty because there was flooding in that area of the truck...Flooding..That truck had a cracked rear window trim which is a well known manufacturers defect..Many Ram owners have had the same issue..I have read on some forums that some dealerships did in fact cover costs for this issue even though it was not covered by the warranty...As I'm sure you know, Fiat Chrysler

A recall will only be issued for safety concerns. A Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) will be issued for known problems which are not a safety concern. A TSB isn't required to be repaired, so many times they aren't checked or fixed unless the consumer reports the problem. Likewise, if not addressed during the warranty period, they are typically* up to you to fix and/or pay for. (* more on this below) This is unlike a recall which will have safety implications and thus it must be repaired regardless of model year or mileage. This is why they send things out in the mail urging you to have the vehicle inspected/repaired. This covers them against legal claims if the affected part fails and causes injury/death. Don't confuse a "recalled" item with a known defect. They are two very different things. FCA well knows it's a common problem and they've got a TSB on it However, a leaking window/roof does not pose a safety concern so there isn't a recall for it. That doesn't mean it's not a known defect. With this being a known issue it makes it extremely difficult for FCA to claim i have a flooding problem that i caused. They know there's a potential for the leak resulting from a manufacturer defect and they're actively repairing that very issue on my truck. This defect is known to cause the rear seat area to accumulate water/moisture. This also If this leak is a known issue, then shouldn't the etorque system be shielded from the potential risk of water exposure? That's not on me I didn't

Water leaks on roof that stain interior head liner over rear window that also may affect rear curtain air bags.

Started my vehicle and the INSTRUMENT PANEL was blank. I can't get messages, warnings, cruise control information, or anything else that provide vehicle operating specifications (engine temp, oil temp, transmission temp, etc.). Failure of the instrument cluster to properly illuminate prevents me from receiving warnings about the vehicle's systems and increase the risk of crash.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the manifold gauges to be replaced. The vehicle was currently being repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

I was driving on I-75 at approximately 73 mph when my instrument panel lights blinked and then turned off. My vehicle lost all power, I turned the steering wheel about 5-10 degrees to the right and my steering wheel locked. I could not press the brake pedal because it was stuck. I was able to get on the side of the highway where vehicle stopped. Hazard lights did not work, I could not unlock doors, start, or stop the car. When the tow truck came, they checked the battery and it had good voltage. The truck was towed to Feldman Ram dealership since 16 June 2022. I am being told that Mechanics are having difficulty figuring out the problem to this day.

While driving the airbag disabled light, driver seatbelt sensor and auto park disabled light came on. This has been a recurring issue since my purchase in February 2022. I believe this is a safety issue because the airbag may fail to deploy in the event of a collision. The vehicle will be inspected by the dealership it was purchased at on 6/21/22.

- There's a malfunction with the rack and pinion resulting in the steering wheel to get stuck in a position while traveling at highway speeds. When making a lane change or a left bend at speeds above 45mph, the steering wheel is sticking at about 20-30 degrees from the top. This results in jolting to overcorrect the steering and get the steering components unstuck. - The component is available for inspection upon request. - The problem is currently being looked at by the dealer, but I have not sought for them to reproduce the problem. - No official inspection has been performed, yet. - No.

About half a year ago, i noticed the seat belt didn't retract properly, and on occasion, it would lock me into the seat preventing me from moving even though there was no reason for the belt to lock. then a airbag light illuminated on the dash a few weeks ago, on the same day that i was standing still at a traffic light, and i tried to reach for a folder on the passenger seat, when the seatbelt would not allow me to move. So i made an appointment with the ram dealer. they just inspected and tested the truck. The dealer just told me it had something to do with the front outerleft seatbelt assembly. They say the ohms is low and the airbag will not deploy and the seatbelt may not work unless the entire assembly is replaced. I was told this is not covered under warranty, not even the extended warranty i purchased. the car is less than 3 years since delivery, and has 52900 miles on it. I can't believe such a safety issue would not be covered. I believe any car manufacturer should sell a vehicle that has a reliable safety restraint and airbag system, don't you? They tell me the part number is (mopar) #5kp971x9ag

The contact veered to the side of the road and readjusted the windshield wipers however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that he would be responsible for the cost of the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: c (Visibility) which he associated with the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

I was driving down a road with no load on the truck at about 35 mph. The front tire blew out. Stopped immediately. The tire had torn all the way across the tread from outside of wheel to inside of wheel. See attached pics. I had a former goodyear employee look at it and he said he thought it was defective. If this had happened at higher speed could have been very bad, could have killed me or others. As it was the tire caused over $2000 damage to the truck - inner fender well and fender etc...These were original tires that came on the truck new had about 31,000miles on them. Still have the tire and it can be inspected.

My steering wheel, at high speeds of 60+ mph, would "stick" when turning left, at approximately the 11 to 10 o-clock positions. This stickiness meant the wheel would not return back to center when releasing left turn pressure on its own. It would actually require small amount of force back the other way in which it would "pop" out of the sticky position, causing some very unsafe and scary jerk of the wheels. Both my wife and I experienced it every time the truck was driven on the freeway until we parked the truck due to it being unsafe to drive. I sent the vehicle to the local RAM dealership and they diagnosed it to be an entire "steering rack failure" that would need to be replaced at my cost because the factory warranty time period of 36 months ended, though the mileage period did NOT end as the truck only has 32,000 miles on it. There were no warning lamps or indicators and the truck is 100% stock with no modifications to the wheels, suspension, or drivetrain. The price quoted (not yet the final price) was $4,200.

Transmission falling out of gear when transmission fluid temperature under 100 degrees, error message "Shift to P then to desired gear" on dash when slowing to a stop, puts vehicle in neutral and the driver must shift the vehicle into park then put it back in drive to continue. The vehicle can be inspected upon request. This fault is has put me in danger multiple times a day, more notably when slowing to a stop at a red light, the vehicle was still at 12 MPH on the brakes, the light turned green and I had to pull over or get rear ended. The problem has been replicated multiple times by the technicians at my local CJDR dealer, and with live diagnostics the vehicle produced no error codes. I have contacted Ram Cares and they have said they would elevate it to a STARs case but my service advisor said it would be a drawn out process and said I should just get rid of it if I can make my money back. The vehicle has not been inspected by someone employed directly by Stellantis. The problems first appeared a week and a half after I purchased it.

Exhaust manifold cracked on both pass/driver side replaced at dealer now cracked again 85k miles don't pull or haul anything

Wipers arms keep coming loose and disconnecting. Spoke to Ram representative and they state that Safety Recall W25 / NHTSA 20V-208 does not include my VIN. Until more people complain about having the same safety problem they will not address issue.

The Rambox door randomly pops open fully while going down the road allowing items stored in the Rambox to come out of the compartment while traveling down the road. This poses a severe risk to the vehicles following behind my vehicle. I brought the truck in for service and was told that this is not a safety recall, which is incredulous to me. I was told that the cause of the failure was a remote switching device in the B pillar, which is obviously nothing that has been damaged by my use. Since this started happening to me, I have heard of two other drivers of trucks with the Rambox with this same incident. I believe both of those vehicles were 2020 Dodge trucks. This has happened multiple times to me, and they want over $400 to fix it!

The dealer completed the recall repair dealer however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

This vehicle has developed an exhaust manifold leak/problem. When I have taken it to the dealer, they inform me that although there is no recall pending, it is so prevalent that Ram has developed a repair kit for what is a known widespread problem. I believe that there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning to all users of vehicles that have developed this problem.

While driving the vehicle the power steering went out which cause the car to become extremely difficult to steer. This is an electrically issue where a part failed and required to be replace.

Driving off a small curb, and the 2 front airbags went off along with the seatbelt lock.

The component and system that I am reporting is the failure of the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster will not illuminate preventing me the driver from receiving warnings about the vehicles systems and increasing the risk of a crash. I am in the process of setting up an appointment with a dealer to inspect the cluster. This occurred without warning. One day I went to start the truck and the cluster did not illuminate

After purchasing my 2019 Dodge 1500 I started hearing a ticking sound from underneath at about 64,880 miles. I have ignored the issue due to the dodge booklet says that the hemi engine makes consurning sounds but this is common with the HEMI 5.7. I drove my friend to pick up her daughter and her ex told me that I had a exhaust manifold issue with the bolts and they are sheered off. Little did I know, until after research, that this has been going on for over a decade and the consumers are getting screwed and the dealerships are selling the dodge chrysler 5.7 hemi knowing there have been years of issues. I can not afford to fix my truck and I use it for making my living. I think its time for a class lawsuit.

Well the other day I could smell a strong odor coming from the hood of my 2019 Ram. I started feeling a little woozy and light headed from the amount of exhaust fumes coming from the engine. I later investigated the smell and found that the engine was also making a loud ticking noise as well. I decided to tear down the vehicle and found that both exhaust manifolds were cracked in the same exact spot. Now the only way something like that can occur is either bad design, bad casting at the factory, or bad material used in casting. That would make Ram 100 % responsible for this defect. I'm not a scientist, but I would have to think that those gases escaping into the atmosphere would not be passing through the catalytic converter. If our planet is in a global warming crises that can't be helping out our atmosphere at all. I think Ram needs to replace every vehicle that has the same issue immediately. If not, no telling what affects this is making on our planet and the safety of everyone on it. Also a cracked manifold can cause engine problems like overheating and I would think an over heated engine can cease up and stop running. Now if someone were traveling at a speed of 70mph and the engine overheated and locked up, could possibly cause a fatality!

Driving home from work , as I slowed to turn on to the road that takes me home , I lost power steering, for a brief second I thought I was gonna crash into a on coming vehicle. It then came back and I was able to regain control. The power steering in getting increasingly worse and is happening all the time .there are no service lights displayed, but I am nervous to drive the vehicle. I have taken it to the dealership where the truck was purchased but they have directed me to an actual ram dealership, they said it will be covered under my manufacturer's warranty being that it only has 26,000 miles . This issue is becoming increasingly problematic and stressful since this is the only vehicle I have to drive . I work 1 hour away from home and I am becoming scared to drive it but have no alternative to get to and from work .

When driving and having to turn my truck gets really hard to turn and gets stuck while turning making me stay in on coming lane for a bit

For the 3rd time now, while driving my truck either taking off from a light or stopping, the truck quit running and says to shift to park to start aswell as my shifting light flashing “D”. Tried to park and restart and it fails to start. Had towed every time to dealership. Twice they couldn’t find anything and once, this last time found a faulty battery cell and replaced it. Ram great for a week, voltage looks great on my dash, still quit running.

Power steering went out. Night of 4/7 I got a notice on the dash saying service power steering as I parked my truck. Morning of 4/8 I went out to take my truck to the dealership to have it looked at and power steering was completely gone. There is an open recall for the exact year model of my make and model however mine is not listed under the recall. After speaking with a Ram customer care rep they advised I reach out here and make an incident report as this may possibly fall under the recall however it was possibly a mistake made given my vehicle is somehow not covered.

Water leaking into roof from unknown source. Creating musty smell (mold). Concerns are: 1. Mold risk to consumer health. 2. Airbags/sensors being affected by water infiltration. 3. Potential electrical hazards associated with water infiltration.

Lost power steering- got it back. Had some warnings lights come up then went away. Power steering went on and off while driving. Dealer working on repair said it’s not warrantied. $4500 repair. Dealer claims electrical connection to power steering rack failed from corrosion. How can a sealed connection corrode. Need help.

Instrument cluster screen went out (come on and off with temperature, but now completely out). This is where check engine warnings come on for my truck, and I don’t know when the truck is dinging, if there is something serious going on, or I just need an oil change. The dealer I went to said they don’t have new or used screens to replace mine with, so I feel very stuck.

Both sun visor have failed in the past 3 years. The mount fails, causing the visor to fall out of the headliner and hang by a non-detachable wire. Closing the visor and trying to re-seat it does not always allow it to stay up. When if falls it hangs in the line of sight, obscuring the view of the road. Dealer service commented that this is a big problem. Needs redesign.

The rear window frame has cracked due to chasie flex. It's been repaired one time already.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the screen was delaminating and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact a case number. The approximate failure mileage was 32,983.

Vehicle stalled and forced the transmission into Park while driving. Vehicle came to an instant halt. If this would’ve happened on a highway speeds this could have posed a serious safety risk. Vehicle very often stalls right after starting and the problem has been getting increasingly worse and more often. The vehicle has not been inspected by anybody and there are no warning lights.

AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALLED, AND I SUFFERED INJURIES.

Timing chain cover leaking oil for 2nd time with only 32,000 miles on the vehicle. Ram dealer repaired once already in 2022. Loosing antifreeze but dealer says the vehicle is not. Service def system comes on at random and says see dealer. While this is happening it does a count down on the temperature gauge in the dash and check engine light comes on. Dealer say they can’t find anything wrong.

The center screen of the instrument cluster blacked out and only comes on once every few weeks. The truck is available for inspection anytime. It is unsafe for my family to drive the vehicle without the instrument cluster. We are unable to see any warning lights, unable to see current mileage, and unable to rely on cruise control/ auto braking. Without warning indicators we will be unaware of faulty components and could put other drivers and or pedestrians in harm. I was unable to tag vehicle in KS on my first attempt because I could not prove mileage on vehicle. Dealer has seen and confirmed issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives but I am willing to have it inspected anytime. There were no warnings or symptoms prior to the instrument cluster failure. The instrument cluster went blank in October 2021 and comes on once or twice per month randomly.

Instrument Cluster intermittently goes blank (Odometer, Engine Info, etc). Observing, the Screen blinks on/off without any information displayed. Occaionally the Instrument Cluster will work after the vehicle has sat for awhile (24hrs). But as soon as you turn off the ignition, and then turn it back on (stop at a gas station), the problem returns. After about 6 months of this pattern of going blank, and occasionally working again, NOW the Instrument Cluster just blinks on/off!

When turning at low speeds to the right the steering will make a vibration and shake a little. At firts I thought was the abs or traction control acting up but now you can definitely feel the vibration coming from the electric assist.

The contact would constantly squeeze the handle to continue fueling the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring increasingly and it would take 15-20 minutes to refill 4-5 gallons of fuel. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to bring the vehicle to their location for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000.

The plastic frame at the top of the rear back glass has two cracks causing significant leaking into the cab of the vehicle.

My power steering doesn't work properly on my 2019 Ram 1500 classic. when i drive it goes in and out of power steering. i see there is a recall for FCA US has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain Electric Power Steering (EPS) gears intended for use on 2013 – 2019 Model Year (DS) Ram 1500 pickup trucks. Some EPS gear assemblies may have been built with a contaminated circuit card assembly that may short circuit. A short in the control circuit components may result in an intermittent loss of power steering assist which may cause an inconsistent steering effort, especially during lower speed maneuvers. Inconsistent steering effort can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning but both FCA and Duluth dodge refuse to inspected the vehicle because they say its not part of the recall.... but it was manufactured in 11/18 which falls into the time period

The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle returned to normal operation. The contact stated that the "automatic brake engaged" warning light was illuminated. The failure was intermittent. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission software updated. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure was still intermittent. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Rear window shattered after using defrost

The Driver's seatback broke last year and now has broken a 2nd time. The vehicle has never been in an accident and has never been used off-road. I have contacted the dealer in the matter and they have dismissed my concerns this first seat broke at a weld and the 2nd seat has the same symptoms less than a year later.
