I wasn't aware of the recall on my 2015 Nissan Altima headlights. The headlights on my vehicle are so dim, I am unable to drive at night. I was told the recall has expired for this function, which I never received any notification of the recall. This is very disturbing to know that a recall expires and I do consider this a safety hazard due to not being able to see while driving at night. Can someone please assist me with this recall. I would really appreciate any help due to the fact, it's very expensive to replace a recall item to my vehicle.

Vehicle has problem accelerating after a stop, this doesn't flash codes and so dealer claims vehicle is okay to drive... upon asking in forums this is a common issue relating to the Step Motor and has been replicated across various model years with varying mileage. This issue has been happening for approx the last 60k miles and the dealer cannot replicate.

I understand there was a voluntary recall and a lawsuit regarding the headlight system on Altimas between 2011-2018. I also understand we were supposed to have received a notification which we never received. We own 3 Altimas that fall into this grouping and never received notification on any of them. The 2015 Altima's lighting is pretty much non-existent. You cannot see at night and it's dangerous. Took it to Carson Nissan and although they were very nice, we were advised that we were too late and there is nothing they can do. It would be very expensive if we fixed at our expense.

I bought a used 2014 nissan altima. The dim lights do not work properly and is dangerous to myself, my familiy and to other drivers approaching me. Visibility is about a cars length, if that. The dealership i bought the car from did not disclose that there had been a lawsuit against nissan for this issue. Someone needs to issue a recall on all these models with defective headlights before someone is seriously injured and I would be surprised to find that there hasn't already been. Im making payments on a car I cannot drive at night. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!

Since April 2022 we reached out to Nissan of Vacaville, Ca about the head light recall. Numerous times they've told us that the headlights were not in stock. Now in 2024 they're saying that they are no longer honoring the recall. They report that it has expired. I drive the car mostly at night and the lights do not work properly. It impairs my vision and thereby can cause a wreck that could result in injury or death.

I have a issue with my vehicle going into LIMP MODE due to a safety issue with the TCM loosing programming with the transmission. This is a BIG SAFETY as I'm on the Hi way. Car will go from 75 mph down to 20mph and can cause for severe car accident. I spike to your warranty department and they gave me the run around. I gave them Info in reguards to a Campaing ID# Which is a clear issue that these NISSAN CARS are still having. A recall was terminated in late 2016, yet a bulletin was posted online of it being active as of 1/ 2017 still. I was told that it's MY PROBLEM NOW AND MY ISSUE TO HAVE NISSAN CHARGE ME FOR A REPROGRAMMING of the TCM when Clearly this issue is still present in. Vehicles in 2024. Many of times I came close to averting a major accident due to car loosing communications with TCM. AGAIN this is very unfair as to how a dealership can brush this SAFETY ISSUE UNDER THE RUG BY SIMPLY TELLING A NISSAN VEHICLE OWNER, SORRY RECALL WAS CLOSED, AFTER LESS THEN A YEAR OF FINDING OUT THE ISSUE ON A CAR. NISSAN must want someone to end up DEAD in there cars due to a TCM MALFUNCTION WITH TRANSMISSION SO THEY CAN BRING THIS TO LIGHT AGAIN. THE SERVICE BULLETIN IS STILL OUT THERE ON THERE FORUMS AND STATES NOTHING ABOUT WARRANTY, MILAGE OF VEHICLE OR ANY TIME FRAME, YET DENY THAT THE ISSUE STILL EXIST IN THERE VEHICLES. I HOPE YOU ALL CAN INVESTIGATE THIS FURTHER AND HAVE NISSAN CORRECT THERE WRONGS AND NOT ALLOW SOMEONE TO DIE ON ANY AMERICAM ROAD DUE TO THERE NEGLECT OF A

Why wasn't there any warning lights advising of this potential problem?

My car's low beam headlights go dim quickly, if work at all. The bright light beams work as should. At times I must drive with the bright beams on just to see safely. I understand there was a settlement by Nissan, however, my issue did not start until after the settlement was over. I am unable to get my headlights fixed due to the deadline. I might note, I purchased my car right before the deadline, so at that time, it was not having the issues. It is very disappointing that Nissan is aware of the issue, but due to timing of this issue, they will not replace the faulty part.

Purchased car from third party late September 2022. Immediately noticed that night driving was nearly impossible to see with headlamps on dim. Going from high beams to low beams is almost like switching to parking lamps. Can’t drive with high beams on when there’s other traffic it poses a hazard to oncoming vehicles. Took the car into Nissan dealership the following week and they told me I missed a deadline on headlight replacement coverage. Only owned the car a week at that time. I swapped out bulbs and had outer covers polished. Still can’t see to drive safely at night. Poses a huge safety risk when night driving is unavoidable. Really wish Nissan would reopen any claims for the dim lighting for those who didn’t know about it before purchasing.

At that time I realized that the air bag did not deploy and the seat belt did not hold me and I hit the steering wheel with full force. I spent three days in the trauma center being treated for bleeding on the brain. My headlights that came on the vehicle are designed to where you can’t see more than 3ft in front of the car at night. There is a class action lawsuit out over these very headlights. I applied and was approved for headlight replacement but Nissan for some reason can’t fix my issue. I am unable to drive my vehicle at night out of fear that i may injury myself, others or even worse while behind the wheel of this specific vehicle. I just wanted this on record so that my insurance company is off the hook if an accident occurs. These headlight are absolutely 100% useless!!!

Hood latch will not release. Suspect the latch or components under the hood, similar to other Nissan Altima's that were recalled for same issue, failed similarly and now repairs and or quick access to engine bay in the event of an emergency is impossible without first repairing the latch and components involved. Called Nissan dealership they said some Nissan Altima's had been recalled for the same issue, but not mine. No indication of failure until owner attempted to open the hood. Hood had opened up till the last service at a Nissan dealership. Scheduled repair at a Nissan dealership at my own expense since it isn't covered under recalls like other Nissan Altima's.

This is my 3rd Altima. The first 2 were amazing. This 1 is not. I bought it used from Shift.com with 73k miles on it. About 6-8 months later I started feeling something wrong in the steering. The shop I took it too said the lower control arms were in the rear were corroded and the bushing were going bad. Tried to get it repaired thru the extended warranty I paid extra for but that was a nightmare and we ended fixing it ourselves. Something was still wrong. I put new tires on it, still wrong. Changed out the struts on front and shocks on rear, new control arms,, bushings, sway bar links, and tie rods. New brake pads and rotors. Then I bought custom wheels and another set of new tires for it. Took it and had an alignment done. The shop said everything looked good. Not long after it started drifting all over the road and I started hearing a whining noise. The next shop said the electric hydraulic power steering pump was going bad. Again the warranty company only allows the shop to call in and handle any repair claims and then they make them sit on hold forever. This is my only transportation and I can't wait for it to break in order for the warranty to repair it. In the meantime trying to figure out what to do the car is getting harder to drive straight down the road. I turned left thru an intersection and ran over the center median blowing out a tire. In 2 other occasions I hit my new wheels on the curb because the steering wheel has excessive play in it. We ended up changing t

I was driving along on slightly rough pavement and the car sort of twitched in the rear end and then every few rotations of the rear wheel, the car shuddered-accompanied by a grinding noise. Then I noticed, that to continue in a straight line, the steering wheel was about 30 degrees, clockwise, to the right of center! I managed to limp on down the shoulder of the road at 10 mph and made it the mile and a half to my house. I thought a wheel bearing had failed, but when I took off the driver's side rear wheel, I discovered that the lower control arm was rotten with corrosion and rust and had collapsed. I searched online for the broken part but, fortunately, found out that Nissan had extended the manufacturer warranty due to pressure from NHTSA. I had the undriveable vehicle towed to the local Nissan dealer (Matthews) and they fixed the car- SAME DAY, NO APPOINTMENT, NO CHARGE. AND they took care of the hood latch recall at the same time. I still can't believe I have my car back, and functional, in what would be considered-in the car repair business- as the 'blink of an eye'. All's well in Vestal, NY. Thank you, NHTSA.
