Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, which can result in suspension arm detachment.

Risk. Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's numbers for this recall are D019, N759, D041, and D027. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Range Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under Recall 19V-392, however the repair may not have been completed properly. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Risk. Unlatched doors may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began November 30, 2020. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Land Rover's number for this recall is N476.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Ranger Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Risk. The unlatched door may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. The recall began July 18, 2019. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is N335. Note: Vehicles in this recall were previously recalled under recall number 15V-385 and need to be remedied again.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 Range Rover vehicles manufactured July 26, 2012, to March 9, 2015, and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured February 18, 2013, to March 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the doors may unlatch unexpectedly when closed.

Risk. If a vehicle door unlatches, the distraction may increase the risk of a crash and/or a vehicle occupant may fall out of the vehicle if they are not wearing a seatbelt, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the keyless entry software, free of charge. The recall began August 6, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P068.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to February 5, 2015, and 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured June 16, 2013, to February 5, 2015. In the affected vehicles, a light weight adult front seat passenger may be improperly classified by the occupant classification system (OCS) and, as a result, the front seat passenger air bag may be disabled.

Risk. If the front passenger air bag is disabled during a vehicle crash, there is an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began April 9, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P059.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014-2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to February 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed allowing a hole to be worn ito it.

Risk. If a hole is worn into the brake vacuum hose, a complete loss of braking assistance could occur, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it, as necessary, free of charge. Any brake vacuum hose that is damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began March 2, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is P052.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires subsequently lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure.

Risk. If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall began on November 6, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P050.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured from May 7, 2013, to October 10, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the turn signal indicator may not flash at a double rate or click at a double-rate to give a notification to the driver of a front turn signal malfunction. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Risk. Without a warning that a front turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, May 27, 2014. Land Rover's number for this recall is P042.

Defect. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Range Rover vehicles. In the affected vehicles, due to insufficient clearance, the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) connector located in the driver and front passenger side seat of the vehicle may become disconnected.

Risk. If the connector becomes disconnected, the driver and/or passenger seat side air bag may not function. In the event of a crash necessitating side air bag deployment, the seat occupant is at an increased risk of injury.

Remedy. Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will modify the area around the connector to prevent it from becoming disconnected, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Customers may contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P037.

The steel fuel tank shield on my 2014 Range Rover Supercharged (L405) is completely rusted through. This part is not a cosmetic cover. It cradles and supports the fuel tank and protects it from road debris. The corrosion appears to be galvanic, caused by the steel shield being mounted in contact with aluminum body and chassis components, which accelerates corrosion of the steel. The rest of the underbody is in comparatively good condition, which points to a design defect rather than neglect. The vehicle and component are available for inspection upon request. Because the shield holds the tank in place, continued deterioration can let the tank sag, shift, or detach while driving. With the shield rotted through, the tank is also exposed to road debris that could puncture it, causing a fuel leak and fire risk to me, my passengers, and other drivers. Loose or jagged sections of the shield could also fall onto the roadway. I identified the failure during an inspection of the vehicle's underside. This is a widely reported L405 problem. Owners on multiple Land Rover forums describe fuel tank shields rusted out on otherwise clean vehicles, and other NHTSA complaints describe the same galvanic corrosion failure. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. There were no warning lamps, messages, or driving symptoms. The contact owns a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making a turn, the front driver's side door unexpectedly opened due to a latch failure. The contact stated that he drilled some holes and installed wires to keep the front driver's side door securely closed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 147,260.

The failed component is the fuel tank cover that is rusted through. This poses a risk of fuel tank puncture because of the rough terrain I travel for work. This rust has been confirmed by the servicing agent. No warning lights appeared to indicate problem.

We first received notice of the recall on December 18, 2024. The front right suspension knuckle joint was making a clicking noise for several weeks and has now cracked and detached the suspension arm on the front right wheel. Thus making my car completely unsafe to drive. The manufacturer gave me an unclear answers for an extended period of time. They have now confirmed that the part is on back order and unavailable to order and they don’t know when it will be available to order. At this point, I don’t feel safe driving my car. I need the manufacturer, Land Rover, to either buy back my vehicle or to give me a rental or loaner car for the foreseeable future, until they are able to repair my car or replace my car altogether. I live in Woodland Hills, CA and there are two dealerships in close proximity which are available to provide a solution for me. I am a mother and I have three small children. This is our family’s primary car for daily transportation for my children to and from school and all activities. It is imperative that this is addressed immediately.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact attempted to start the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to start. The contact stated that the failure had occurred while the contact was driving on a major highway. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 165,000.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and making right turns, the vehicle shook abnormally, and the front driver's side tire rubbed against the fender. Front wheel knuckle failure. I received an email last year on a recall for specific VINs for this failure and my VIN does not apply within the specific years of 2014-2016. I have a 2014 L405 Land Rover and am very concerned of this failure. I would like this complaint filed and Land Rover to replace these knuckles before someone dies or is seriously injured.

Land Rover has been made aware through several complaints that there is a widespread issue with their vehicles that requires recall. Thousands of customers have reported issues in their vehicles with cylinder 4 cracked pistons resulting in engine failure. Land Rover refuses to address the issue in their vehicles causing this malfunction and costly vehicle repair. Land Rover needs to issue a recall to address and rectify this issue in their vehicles as this issue results in the vehicle losing speed and coming to a complete halt with no warning from the vehicle. The vehicle does not display any warnings even if dangerously low on oil - no warning sign will display. This could result in death of multiple people and cause crashes. It is highly dangerous and needs to be addressed by Land Rover with urgency.

It is becoming very apparent that the front, Left and Right Steering Knuckle on these cars are failing due to cracks forming and in some instances the wheel breaking free from the car. This is a death trap for the cars affected and Range Rover needs to step up in the U.S., like they did in the UK and recall these and have them replaced. Thank you

The front suspension knuckle has developed a significant crack at the top where a ball joint attaches. This crack will result in a catastrophic failure of the knuckle as has been experienced by many owners of this type of vehicle. (see [XXX] ). This has resulted in serious accidents even at low speed. I found this issue on my vehicle during a routine check before a road trip. the crack is such that this will fail at any moment. I am entering this case BEFORE i have a serious accident, and will have to get the vehicle repaired at my cost given that the manufacturer will not recognize this issue. The side/front airbags wire harness system are in and under the driver/or passenger seat and become disconnected when you move the seats, therefore making it so the side and front airbags won’t work. This is said to be a known issue says the dealership but not covered under any circumstances even though they detailed my car after having for two months trying to fix my brakes with no airbag issues and now I have this airbag light on and issue with my airbags. But it’s also a known safety issue flaw I was told by the manager at the mission viejo ca dealership ! Unacceptable!

Malfunction light is on

The contact’s husband owned a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated while driving at 40 MPH in the rain, she moved into the slow lane as another vehicle was passing her vehicle, the vehicle started sliding back and forth, felt unstable, and was heading towards the median lane. The contact stated that as she extended her body and was moving her dog from the front passenger’s side seat onto the floorboard, the vehicle flipped a total of 8 times and landed upside down. The contact stated that an unknown door of the vehicle flew open in that process. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V387000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The air bags deployed. The contact was able to exit the vehicle. The emergency units arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the contact. The contact sought medical assistance and it was diagnosed that the contact’s gallbladder threw a stone that was blocking a bile duck. The contact underwent two emergency gallbladder surgeries. Additionally, the contact sustained neck and shoulder injuries that aggravated a preexisting condition. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was totaled. A police report was filed. The contact notified the Porsche dealer where the vehicle was purchased but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

MY CAR DID NOT TELL ME WHAT THE RECALL WAS, AND IT WAS NOT REPAIRED SUCCESSFULLY, BUT MY MAIN DRIVING DOOR COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED AND LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY; ANOTHER FAULT IS THAT THERE IS ALWAYS A LOUD FRICTION SOUND WHILE DRIVING, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED FOR ME; THERE IS ALSO THE FEELING THAT THE LOWER HALF OF THE DOOR IS ABOUT TO FALL OFF, LIKE A BROKEN CAR; BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE FAULTS, MY CAR WAS BASICALLY PARKED AT HOME.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,800.

MY DOOR LOCKS ARE FAILING AND LAND ROVER / RANGE ROVER IS TELLING ME IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR PRIOR INVESTIGATION, RECALL OR OTHER. FIRST, I COULDN'T GET MY PASSENGER DOOR TO LOCK, THEN IT SUDDENLY STARTED WORKING AGAIN. NOW, I CAN'T GET MY DRIVER SIDE TO LOCK, AND MY PASSENGER IS FINE. LAND ROVER CLAIMS THEY ALREADY UPDATED MY "SOFTWARE" BUT I THINK IT'S SOMETHING MUCH MORE DETAILED THAN THAT, AS THERE ARE LITERALLY 1000'S OF PEOPLE ASKING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. NOT SURE IF THIS WILL RESULT IN MY DOORS FLYING OPEN SUDDENLY, AS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED IN PRIOR CASES WITH NHTSA FOR MY YEAR RANGE ROVER - BUT I TRULY FEEL AS IF THEY KNOW ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH THEIR DOOR ACTUATORS, SOFTWARE AND LOCKS BUT ARE UNWILLING TO FIX THEM IN THEIR DEALERSHIP UNDER RECALL OR WARRANTY. SEVERAL DEALERS HAVE NOTED FOR MY VIN, THEY'VE DEVELOPED NEW ACTUATORS BECAUSE OF FLAWS IN PREVIOUS VERSIONS AND WANT ME TO SPEND UPWARDS OF $2K TO HAVE REPLACEMENTS.

I HAVE THE 2014 RANGE ROVER WITH THE V6 SUPERCHARGED GAS ENGINE. DURING A ROLLING START, SUCH AS ROLLING START TO PERFORM A U-TURN OR MERGING INTO A HIGHWAY, THE ACCELERATION IS DELAYED BY AT LEAST 2 SECONDS, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS. ESPECIALLY DURING MERGING ON TO THE FREEWAY THE 2 SECONDS ACCELERATION LAG COULD SEND FALSE INFORMATION TO THE OTHER CARS AND MADE ME ALMOST CRASH FOR A FEW TIMES. IT SHOULD BE A TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE UPDATE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

ROOF TRIM PIECE BLEW OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. HEARD A BANG NOISE ON MY ROOF AND WHEN I PULLED OVER I SAW MY PASSENGER ROOF TRIM STRIP HAD BLOWN OFF. WAS ONLY GOING 40 MPH.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP WHILE TURNING EITHER RIGHT OR LEFT THERE IS A SKIPPING/GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER VEHICLE AROUND THE TRANSFER CASE. I'VE HAD THE FLUIDS FLUSHED BUT NOISE STILL REMAINS. SEEMS TO BE WORSE WHEN UNDER MORE TORQUE LIKE GOING UP A HILL.

SAFETY RECALL N335, RECALL WAS DONE AND DOOR STILL DOES NOT SHUT, AT TIMES OPENS WHEN DRIVING. IT DOES NOT SHUT WHEN ONE THINKS IT IS SHUT

THE DOORS UNLATCH AND OPEN WHILE DRIVING, YOU SEE THE LOCK LIGHT ON BUT THE DOOR OPENS WHILE DRIVING YOU HAVE TO HOLD THE DOOR TO MAKE IT TO YOUR DESTINATION THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!! CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWERS AND NO FIX TILL POSSIBLE THE END OF THIS MONTH HE SAID AND THAT'S NO GUARANTEE HE STATED!! WHAT ARE WE TO DO DRIVING VEHICLE WHERE THE DOORS SWING OPEN WHILE DRIVING?!?! I'M AFRAID FOR MY FAMILIES SAFETY WITH THIS TRUCK!!!

JERK AT THE 5 MPH BEFORE STOP FEELS LIKE SOMEBODY BUMP IN TO ME

WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH (INSIDE MY SUBDIVISION AS WAS ONLY LEAVING THE MY GARAGE TO COMMUTE INTO WORK) AND MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN, THE LEFT SIDE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED BY ITSELF. INITIALLY UNAWARE OF THIS (INSIDE LIGHTS DID NOT TURN ON, NOR THE PASSENGER DASH HIGHLIGHTING ANY INFORMATION) I CONTINUED TO DRIVE, ONLY TO HAVE THE NOW OPEN DOOR SMASH INTO A BRICK COLUMN WHICH WAS TO THE LEFT SIDE OF ME. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE RIGHT TO ASSESS WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND FOUND THAT THE DOOR WAS DENTED AND SCRATCHED BUT NOW THE DOOR LATCH WAS NOW ENGAGED AND THE DOOR NOT ABLE TO CLOSE. THANKFULLY MY 8 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER, WHO USUALLY SITS ON THIS SIDE OF THE CAR WAS NOT WITH ME. I AM EXTREMELY ALARMED AND CONCERNED THAT THE DOOR COULD BECOME OPENED BY ITSELF AND NOW UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MATTER IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY NHTSA DUE TO OTHERS HAVING HAD SIMILAR ISSUES. I WANT TO DOCUMENT THAT I TOO HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME AND AM DOING MY BEST NOW TO WORK WITH LAND ROVER DIRECTLY TO ASSIST ME IN FIXING THE ISSUE, INCLUDING THE ROOT CAUSE AND BODY WORK. HOWEVER, THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE IS ALREADY SUGGESTING NO FAULT BY THE VEHICLE.

THERE IS AN NHTSA ARTICLE FOR A RECALL ATTRIBUTED TO A FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WHICH AFFECTED VEHICLES BUILT FROM MAY 9, 2012 THROUGH MARCH 15, 2013. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ALL 2013-2014 MODEL YEAR RANGE ROVERS. WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON, I WAS IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED AND RUSHED TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE ISSUE INSPECTED. UPON DEALER INVESTIGATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF. OFTEN THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON. OTHER TIMES, THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN TURN OFF AND FINALLY AT ODD TIMES IT WILL REMAIN OFF. I WAS INFORMED BY A DEALER THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2013-14 MODEL YEAR RANGE ROVERS HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER HAS LIMITED THE ORIGINAL RECALL TO 3,912. WHILE I HAVE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER TO HAVE THEM RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I HAVE REQUESTED THE DEALERSHIP TO ORDER THE PART WHICH I WAS INFORMED WILL TAKE OVER 3 WEEKS TO RECEIVE. THIS IS THE SECOND FULL WEEK.

TAKATA RECALL AIR BAGS ARE DEAD ONLY AFTER 40K MILES, BREAKS DEAD AFTER 14K EVEN CHANGED AT DEALER , AND DRIVER DOOR IS MAKING SQUICKY SOUND WHEN EVER U OPEN AND CLOSE DOOR

WHILE DRIVING HOME YESTERDAY MY DRIVER DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE GOING DOWN HWY 167 SOUTH. ( I KNOW THE DOOR WAS SHUT! IT WAS LOCKED WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR) WHILE DRIVING THE REST OF THE WAY HOME HOLDING THE DRIVER DOOR SHUT ! BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T CLOSE!( NOT EVEN THE SOFT SHUT DOOR CLOSE) I GOT HOME AND RESEARCH FOR RECALLS OR SAFETY ISSUES... THERE IS A RECALL BUT, SAYS IT WAS DONE A YEAR AGO! BUT, APPARENTLY THE RECALL PART OR SOFTWARE DIDN'T WORK! I ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE SUV YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING!

VEHICLE WAS PARKED. MY EIGHT YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS BUCKLED IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR SEAT. MY WIFE WAS LOADING GROCERIES IN THE TRUNK. SOME ITEMS SHIFTED AS SHE WAS LOADING THEM. THESE ITEMS MADE CONTACT WITH THE BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE WALL OF THE TRUNK THAT CONTROL THE INCLINE/DECLINE OF THE REAR SEATS. THE BUTTON WAS ACTIVATED AND THE SEAT MY DAUGHTER WAS SEATED IN STARTED TO DECLINE. SHE WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO RESIST THE DECLINE AND THE SEAT FORCED HER TO NEAR HORIZONTAL BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO REVERSE THE SWITCH. SHE ESCAPED INJURY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT AN INJURY COULD HAVE RESULTED FROM THIS HAD THE SEAT DECLINED FURTHER. THESE BUTTONS NEED TO BE PROTECTED IN SOME FASHION TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL ENGAGEMENT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING; HOWEVER, THE DETAILS COULD NOT BE PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V385000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR DID NOT LATCH AND OPENED ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CAR IN MOTION. THIS IS AFTER LAND ROVER RECALL WORK ON DOOR LATCH WAS COMPLETED IN DECEMBER 2015. THE RECALL DID NOT WORK! I HAD TO DRIVE SLOWLY 2 MILES HOME AS I COULD NOT HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILST DRIVING.

MY VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 40MPH AT A STRAIGHT PATH ON CITY ROADS WITH NO OBSTACLES OR DETOUR WHEN AT AN INSTANT THE VEHICLE'S DRIVE MODE LOGO ON THE SHIFT KNOB BEGAN TO BLINK CONTINUOUSLY FOLLOWED BY SYSTEM ERROR CODE WARNINGS FLASHING ON THE ENTERTAINMENT SCREEN AND DRIVER SCREEN AND FULL LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. WITH COMPLETE SHUT DOWN INCLUDING LOSS OF ALL ELECTRONICS ELECTRICAL POWER AND ENGINE FAILURE THEREAFTER CAUSING THE ELECTRONIC EMERGENCY BRAKES TO ACTIVATE AND LOCKING THE WHEELS. AT WHICH TIME THE VEHICLE CAME TO A VIOLENT AND SUDDEN STOP RESULTING IN A LOAD GRINDING NOISE COMING OFF THE ENGINE BAY. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START DUE TO NO RETURN OF ANY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE SYSTEMS ELECTRONICS INCLUDING EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS. I WAITED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE, WHICH TOOK A FEW TRIES BEFORE POWER AND VEHICLE ENGINE ENGAGED ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME COMPLETE VEHICLE FAILURE AND SHUT DOWN REPEATED ONLY AFTER 200 YARDS FROM THE INITIAL FAILURE RESULTING IN TOW SERVICE HAVING TO BE CALLED OUT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST NOR THE SECOND RECURRENCE, IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSE AND CORRECTED BY AN AUTHORIZED LAND ROVER DEALER. WHICH IS FAR FROM THE TRUTH IN REGARDS TO THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF THIS VEHICLE. TO DATE THE CAUSE OF CONTINUED FAILURE IS UNKNOWN.

I PURCHASED MY NEW VEH IN MAY OF 2014. FROM THAT TIME UNTIL NOVEMBER, MY VEH DROVE/SHIFTED SMOOTH. I TOOK MY VEH IN FOR ITS 1ST SERVICE ON NOV. 25TH, 2014 AND AT THAT TIME THEY PERFORMED A TCM SOFTWARE UPDATE. SINCE LEAVING WITH MY VEH, I NOTICED IT DROVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IT SHIFTED HARD, CLUNKED INTO GEAR & NO LONGER DRIVES LIKE A PREMIUM, NEW VEHICLE. I ADVISED MY SERVICE ADVISOR [XXX] A FEW DAYS LATER. AT THAT TIME HE SCHEDULED AN APT TO BRING IN & CHECK IT OUT. I ARRIVED FOR MY APT ON DEC 16TH, HAD THE SERVICE ADVISOR DRIVE WITH ME SO I COULD SHOW HIM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL THAT MY VEH WAS "READY TO BE PICKED UP". I ASKED "DOES THAT MEAN IT IS FIXED?" HE REPLIED, "AT THIS TIME, WE & LAND ROVER ARE AWARE OF YOUR CONCERN, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO REMEDY/FIX AT THIS TIME." THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THERE WAS A KNOWN FIX/REPAIR. I PICKED MY VEH UP, & SINCE THEN, IT DRIVES EVEN WORSE. I EXPLAINED TO THE SERVICE DEPT THAT EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY IT IS "SAFE TO DRIVE", THAT I DO NO FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. IN THE MORNINGS, THE SHIFTS ARE SO VIOLENT THAT I FEEL LIKE I AM DOING FURTHER DAMAGE TO MY DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA (REP:[XXX]: 800.452.4827 EXT. [XXX]0) SEVERAL TIMES, HE STATES THE SAME THING, "LAND ROVER IS AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BUT THERE IS NO KNOWN FIX AT THIS TIME". IN MY OPINION, THIS VEHICLE IS CLASSIFIED AS A "LEMON" BECAUSE I CANNOT OPERATE

I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 60MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENS. MY LEFT ELBOW WAS RESTING ON THE DOOR WITH JUST THE WEIGHT OF MY ELBOW AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I FEEL MY ELBOW DROP DOWN AND A GUST OF WIND. THE DOOR OPENED MAYBE AN INCH BEFORE CLOSING BACK UP AGAIN. THE DOOR QUICKLY CLOSES FROM EITHER THE WIND OR THE SOFT CLOSE DOOR MECHANISM. *TR

I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE GOING APPROX. 2 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED SO FAST THAT IT JUMP ONTO THE CURB AND HIT A TREE. LUCKILY, I DID NOT HIT A PERSON OR ANOTHER CAR. HOWEVER, MY BRAND NEW CAR IS NOW IN THE BODY SHOW AND IS ESTIMATED TO COST AT LEAST $40K. IT COMPLETELY DAMAGED THE INSIDE OF MY CAR. ITS MIND BOGGLING TO ME HOW THE SPEED ALL OF A SUDDEN WENT SO FAST. NOTE THAT I DO NOT HAVE THE VIN BECAUSE IT IS IN THE BODY SHOP. ALSO, IT IS THE RANGE ROVER SPORT 2014 (THAT OPTION WAS NOT AVAILABLE IN THE SELECTION SO I JUST CHOSE RANGE ROVER 2014). *TR

I HAVE AN UNRESOLVED ISSUE WITH LAND ROVER RELATING TO THE ENGINE / TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT AND THE NEED FOR AN O2 SENSOR TO BE FITTED TO THE VEHICLE. LAND ROVER (SOUTH WEST FREEWAY, HOUSTON) HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO A) SOURCE THE O2 SENSOR B) ENSURE THAT THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING CORRECTLY C) GIVE ME A DATE WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. FEEL LIKE I AM BEING IGNORED BY THE GARAGE HAVING HAD THE VEHICLE IN 3 TIMES FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND TWICE TOLD THAT THE PART WOULD BE FITTED WHEN THEY HAD NONE IN STOCK. *TR

OUR 2014 RANGE ROVER SPORT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR DEACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY DURING MULTIPLE TRIPS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER 7-12 MINUTES THE INDICATOR LIGHT NEAR THE SUNSHADE BUTTON WILL ILLUMINATE TO NOTE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED OR IS NOT OPERATIONAL; EVEN THOUGH THE PASSENGER IS SITTING CORRECTLY AND MAINTAINING CONSTANT WEIGHT ON THE SEAT. MOVING AROUND THE SEAT OR SHIFTING WEIGHT FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER WILL NOT EXTINGUISH THE INDICATOR LIGHT; HOWEVER BRIEFLY UNBUCKLING THE SEAT BELT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND THEN QUICKLY BUCKLING THE SEAT BELT WILL CAUSE THE INDICATOR LIGHT TO SHUT OFF FOR 7 TO 12 MINUTES. AFTER THIS UNBUCKLING AND BUCKLING PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLETED THE LIGHT WILL COME ON AGAIN. THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THIS VEHICLE AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSORS. LAND ROVER ALSO NEVER MENTIONED TO ME THAT THIS ISSUES HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHER RANGE ROVER VEHICLES. ON ANOTHER NOTE, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS SEVERELY UNDERILLUMINATED. VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE DURING THE DAY AND THERE IS NO OTHER VISUAL OR AUDIO QUEUE TO THE DRIVER THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED. I WANTED TO INFORM YOU OF A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH 2014 RANGE ROVERS THAT MAY EITHER CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR STRAND SOMEONE MANY MILES FROM CIVILIZATION! I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND THE ROTARY SHIFTER WOULD NOT POP UP AS IT WAS STUCK DOWN AND THE CAR WAS STUCK IN DRIVE! I HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE SO IT WOULD NOT START WHEN THE START/STOP BUTTON WAS PUSHED! THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP. MY CAR IS NOW AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE SAYING IT WILL BE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS TO REPAIR. *TR

PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR ACTIVATES AND DEACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY DURING A SINGLE TRIP WITH A SINGLE PASSENGER. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER 45 MINUTES INTO A TRIP DRIVING A STEADY 75 MPH, THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE TO NOTE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOW DEACTIVATED AND WILL REMAIN THIS WAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 4-HOUR TRIP. THIS OCCURS DESPITE THE FACT THAT PASSENGER IS SITTING AS SHE SHOULD, NOT MOVING ABOUT, AND WEIGHS 120 POUNDS. NO AMOUNT OF MOVING AROUND OR SITTING STILL CHANGES THE DEACTIVATION LIGHT. UNDOING THE SEAT BELT AND REFASTENING WILL OCCASIONALLY CAUSE THE LIGHT TO SHUT OFF FOR 10 OR 15 MINUTES, BUT IT COMES BACK ON AGAIN AND STAYS ON PERMANENTLY. ON SHORTER, LOCAL TRIPS THAT LAST AROUND A HALF HOUR AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE, MEANING THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO LAND ROVER CHICAGO TWICE, AND THEY REFUSE TO SERVICE OR ASSIST FURTHER. LAND ROVER CORPORATE ALSO CLAIMS OPERATION IS NORMAL. YET, NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE AIRBAG PROTECTION IS INTERMITTENT, WHAT WEIGHT YOU MUST BE TO RECEIVE AIRBAG PROTECTION, OR WHAT IS CAUSING THE COMPUTER TO CHANGE ITS MIND 45 MINUTES INTO A TRIP. NOR CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY THE SAME PASSENGER HAS AIRBAG PROTECTION DURING LOCAL TRIPS BUT NOT ON LONGER TRIPS AT FASTER SPEED. *TR

START/STOP FEATURE SHUTS THE ENGINE DOWN WHEN STOPPED. ENGINE RESTARTS UPON RELEASE OF BRAKE PEDAL. CAR LURCHES FORWARD AS ENGINE RESTARTS. THIS NEARLY RESULTED IN A PEDESTRIAN COLLISION. PEDESTRIAN WAS CROSSING AGAINST GREEN LIGHT. WHEN BRAKE PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AS ENGINE RESTARTED NEARLY RESULTING IN UNAVOIDABLE COLLISION WITH PEDESTRIAN. START/STOP SYSTEM CANNOT BE PERMANENTLY DISABLED.
