I was driving off the lot entering the interstate when the steering started wobbling and pulling upon accelerating and likely hitting a bump. Took back to dealership and 2 mechanics drove it and one with me in which nothing really happened compared to the surprising first incident. They are not a Jeep dealership but reassured me all normal for Jeep but will do whatever it takes to make right. Could ask them to replace damper or tracking rod but what if not the problem. I have 2 weeks to decide what to do. Otherwise it has been great but I know there was a recall on certain jeeps “death wobbles” it was certainly scary.

Since purchasing my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the vehicle’s radio system has been defective, creating a significant safety hazard. The original radio (Radio 1) had a short that drained the battery and was replaced by a dealer. The replacement radio (Radio 2) has never functioned properly: the Bluetooth system fails to stay paired, requiring manual re-pairing every time the vehicle is started. Multiple software updates have been attempted, but the issue persists unchanged. This defect prevents reliable hands-free phone operation, which is critical for safe driving. My wife uses this vehicle daily to transport our children to school, and the lack of a functional hands-free system forces her to either forgo phone use entirely or risk distracted driving, violating Georgia’s hands-free law (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-241), which prohibits holding a phone while driving. This malfunction endangers my family and other road users, as it compromises the driver’s ability to communicate safely in emergencies or navigate without distraction. Repair History: * Initial Defect: Radio 1 shorted and drained the battery; replaced with Radio 2 (date unknown, within first year of ownership). * Ongoing Issue: Radio 2’s Bluetooth has required re-pairing every drive since installation, despite multiple dealer visits and software updates. * Recent Action: Dropped off vehicle on April 11, 2025, at Rick Hendrick Duluth (mileage: 48,177). Dealer staff (Heather Kratky and Matt Otis) stated Jeep has not authorized
Extreme steering wobble at speeds over 65 mph when hitting bumps on the highway. First time was with about 20,000 miles didn’t not know what it was, and it stopped after slowing down. After more times this happened I want to the dealer my warranty was expired and the want to replace the steering stabilizer to start. This problem now happens about every 5 miles on the highway and I fear losing control so I don’t drive over 65 mph with this vehicle. What can be done to fix this
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was started, and the vehicle was driven to the residence. The contact stated that the vehicle was sluggish and was shaking abnormally. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with battery failure. The contact was informed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that an unknown recall repair was performed two years prior, including the replacement of the battery. In addition, the contact stated that in November 2024, the vehicle was taken to the dealer because the battery was not charging. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed twice; however, the cases were closed. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
On [XXX], I was in Fort Lauderdale, FL for vacation with my 2 friends. I was driving for about 20-30 minutes on the road, got on the highway and noticed a rubber smell. I got off the highway. I still noticed the smell did not go away. So I opened the windows & turned off the AC. Then I saw white smoke coming from the vents and smoke coming from the right side of the hood, in front of the passenger side. I proceeded to pull over and parked the car. We exit the car & saw smoke/flames coming from the right passenger side & underneath the car. I called 911. There were no warnings or indications on my dashboard that something was wrong. I got my car serviced a month prior to this fire at a certified Jeep dealership. My car was deemed a total loss by my insurance. This was completely a safety hazard to myself, two friends and the public. Luckily, there was a fire department just a few buildings down. They arrived shortly after the 911 call and put out the fire, preventing further damage to the surroundings. It was terrifying but thankfully we are all safe. Excessive front end wobble at highway speeds. Car shakes violently until you are able to slow down.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that upon accelerating on a main street to 55 MPH, the vehicle started wobbling excessively. The contact continued to drive the vehicle with caution. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
At 10,400 miles a safety recall was performed on clutch for manual transmission. The dealership replaced clutch bearing, clutch press kit, and other clutch components. After 800 miles were driven (11,200 total miles on vehicle) and after the recall service, the clutch went out again while driving. Dealership is telling me the slave cylinder went out and will need to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that that the vehicle was rusted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the door latches, the trunk and hood latches, and several unknown joints were rusted and needed to be replaced. The dealer declined to repair the vehicle under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
Sudden loss of power. Vehicle completely lost response to accelerator pedal while driving: Had a very strange experience last night. I have been barely charging my 4xe after 95b recall trying to maybe slow down battery degradation and drive it like during the recall period. Last night I was going down a rural road. I rolled up to a 4 way stop slowing down from about 55mph to stop. Vehicle was in hybrid mode, and cluster was at <1%. I had barely stopped, I don’t think the ICE shut down. I tried to accelerate to clear the intersection and I had 0 power. Car would barely move and slowly rolled in the intersection. Engine was running but not responding to the accelerator with RPM increase, just like when you try to rev at idle. No response to half or full throttle. I just slowly rolled in the intersection (scary situation, luckily no heavy traffic) I turned my hazard lights on and tried again to accelerate, 0 response, no MIL light, still gas in car. I tried to change drive mode to electric, message “unavailable, battery depleted” (no surprise there), tried e-save no response to throttle either. Last resort I put tranny in park and re-cycled start/stop. HV battery had enough power to start engine and responded to throttle and I was back driving. Did another 10-15 miles yesterday, no wild issues (sometimes it feels a little jerky, but that could be just me now). I did some heavy accelerations. Power meter went to 100, re-charged on coasting and did that for 4 or 5 repetitions. No
I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE Rubicon. My vehicle has been recalled three times for updates. I have had one recall done for the defroster due to the faulty software that can cause reduced visibility increasing a risk of a crash. The second one was for risk of fire from a faulty high voltage battery driving or parked. The third recall call was to update software for the high voltage battery in which doing so caused my vehicle not to fully charge and to lose power when driving and not be able to start for hours at a time. I now have brought my vehicle back to the Jeep service center for a diagnostic test and it was found that the high voltage battery pack is faulty in which Jeep has said they will put a new battery in once approved from Chrysler. Jeep has not been able to be able to fix the problem with Hybrid battery packs possibly catching on fire or exploding and the new one I'd be getting would risk the same problems possibly injuring or killing myself or any passengers I might have in the vehicle. Jeep is not able to get to the root of the cause of why these high volt battery can go on fire even when they are not in use causing possible property damage to my home or neighbors. I am told in the recall to park my vehicle away from properties and other cars which is impossible to do. I hope you take this serious matter into consideration that Jeep Corporation must find a solution for this Nationwide problem and for people on the road.
The best way I can describe it is that it has the "Death Wobble". My mechanic is still attempting to get all of the parts that are needed and I just turned 44,000 on my Jeep.
I have attempted to contact Jeep multiple times. All my communications, except for one, have been ignored. Please, see attached communications. Way too many recalls, including the last one where the vehicle can catch on fire.
The jeep was taken to the dealership under a software battery recall and the software was updated. One week later while driving at approximately 55mph, there was a sudden jerk in the propulsion system. the car shifted abruptly from electric to gas motor and the electric mode was unavailable. The vehicle jerked and hesitated at every acceleration and deceleration causing unsafe operating conditions . The check engine light was on I returned it to the dealer immediately and was told that the high voltage hybrid battery was bad. I'm pretty convinced from my and other experiences that the software up date was not a remedy to previous incidents reported to you. It was a software patch that determined if the battery was bad.
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The voltage meter increased excessively. The vehicle was started, and the contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking space. The contact turned the vehicle off. The contact allowed the vehicle to remain turned off for a while. The vehicle was started, and a service battery message was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed battery pack. The contact was informed that the battery pack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The repair was performed under the recall NHTSA Campaign Number: 24E080000 (Electrical System). The failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and the battery was charging, the contact noticed the front fan was running extremely hard. The contact disconnected the battery charger. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the aluminum battery cover was extremely hot. The contact used a temperature gauge to check the temperature of the aluminum battery cover and determined that the temperature was 106 degrees and was increasing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 21,385.
The following is copy of an email sent to JEEP CEO in November and then again in January. I have not received a response. I have also sent an email to the dealer. I ask NHTSA to look into Dear Mr. [XXX] : I would like your assistance in a major issue I am having with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport. I have contacted the dealer (Airpark Jeep- [XXX] ) and your corporate customer service department with both saying they are unable to help me. As I am sure you know, social media has a lot of information on what is referred to as the Jeep Death Wobble- A problem with the stabilizer bar. My jeep has this issue and it hits mostly at highway speeds causing the entire jeep to shake violently until the jeep settles down. This is now happening too many times and there is nothing the driver can do, but hold tight on the wheel and hope the shaking doesn't cause an accident. I can not believe this was not addressed via a safety recall! This problem has the potential in my opinion to lead to serious injury or death of passengers in the jeep and others nearby! I will be turning the jeep in at the end of February and I assume the dealer will have to fix the problem (I am told it takes a couple hours to replace the stabilizer bar), before the vehicle is sold as a used jeep. To allow this condition to exist is inexcusable by both Jeep HQ and the local Jeep dealer. Because this has been a known issue and Jeep and your dealers have done nothing to resolve this problem, I will not simply go away. I an
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, the vehicle was going up a hill when it suddenly stopped. No warning light illuminated. The contact merged to the right side of the road as the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed as the vehicle started to function again. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired because the dealer stated parts were not available. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
On three separate occasions the vehicle began violently shaking giving the impression the front wheels were coming off (aka the death wobble). On all three occasions the shaking started while driving straight on paved road at 45-60mph. The first two incidents occurred within a week’s time. The Jeep services testing reported no issues. At that time they performed a realignment and sent me on my way. The most recent occurrence happened on Jan. 18, 2025. On this occasion the same Jeep services testing reported a possible problem with the tie rods. This vehicle was purchased in Jan 2021 and currently has about 25,500 miles. It has not been driven off road and has not been modified. Considering Jeep’s well documented issues of this nature, it does not seem that they have addressed the problems.
While cruising control is engaged, turning the steering wheel 5-10 degrees to the right will result in disruption of the cruise control and displaying a message "cruise control cancelled." This results in an abrupt deceleration during a turn that is unexpected and can create a safety hazard. Additionally, the illumination of steering wheel switches flickers with 5 degrees of right turn. This appears to be consistent with the findings of recall 15B, but my VIN is not included in the recall.
When I was driving I smelled something electrical burning and my eyes starting burning on my way in to work. On my way home, the same thing happened however I noticed smoke coming from my steering wheel. I shut my heated steering wheel off. I took it to the dealership the following day and they told me my wiring melted in the steering wheel and also stated they are surprised it did not catch on fire. They said i need to replace the entire steering wheel. I have 37,000 miles on my vehicle. Ironically 1000 miles past the warranty. They have no explanation for why this happened however I was told this is a common thing, as many others have had this happen.
Our vehicle experiences loss of motive power as well as a complete disconnect from the battery. All diagnostics have shown that physical battery connections are good. We have been left on the side of the road with the inability to drive the vehicle above 20 mph. It is extremely dangerous when moving through an intersection or driving on the highway. We get a sudden warning lamp of a battery, charging cable, and turtle. They appeared 4 days after the purchase of the vehicle.
While traveling at highway speed crossed a road expansion joint and the vehicle began to shake. On this particular trip of approximately 250 miles, It only occurred at these higher speeds. Slowing down eliminated the "Death Wobble." A TSB has been issued that possibly addresses this issue. A review of the internet indicates that this problem has been persist and prevalent for this car model for over a decade, and is a safety issue. This should trigger a recall to address this problem.
My 2021 jeep wrangler unlimited started shaking uncontrollably at highway speeds, and whenever I hit a bump in the road. I took it to a dealership which shows no active recalls. The dealership ran a diagnostic a d claims it is a faulty steering wheel damper. As this is an ongoing issue from previous jeep years, I was hoping you could investigate.
01/21/25 While driving on Interstate 64 at posted 70 mph suddenly experienced a complete shuddering of the vehicle. I was able to maintain forward direction with speed. Control on by “gripping” tightly with both hands and then braking quickly to shoulder and engaging 4 way flasher. I thought at first I must have hit something in the road or experienced a sudden tire blowout. But myself, spouse and brother-in-law exited the vehicle and could discern no apparent vehicle damage. No loose body trim / tires intact. I got down on the pavement and viewed the undercarriage and no loose parts were observed. Decided to drive it if possible. Vehicle started up fine and then accelerating to speed limit pulled up existing tire pressure and they were 36-37 psi. About 15 miles later now on I69 experienced the same sudden intense “shuddering “ of the vehicle. This time I braked quickly and let off the gas peddle and the wobble stopped. Immediately continued to Evansville Jeep dealer , reported the issue. They could not examine the vehicle immediately and though I expressed concern about driving the vehicle 50 miles back home I was told no loaner car available. I did make an appointment for 01/23/25 the earliest opening. The person handling the issue evidently discussed the issue with a technician and came back and stated it was a common Jeep issue and may need a “damper “ or repair to a damper. When asked if my extended warranty would cover the repair he wasn’t sure though I have less than 6
Jeep Wrangler 2021 death wobble. This is the fourth time I’ve had a death wobble in two years out of nowhere. The vehicle will also of a sudden go into a shaking moving wobbling scenario, which feels completely unsafe to drive. I have brought this vehicle into Jeep four times in the past two years for this problem. I am requesting a buyback. They refuse to buy it back based on this very unsafe situation
The instrument panel is not working at all, it is totally black. I can not see speed, gas amount, any emergency lights, i can not tell if my lights are on bright or dim, if my turn signal is on or anything. I have already been stranded on the side of a busy highway at night because of this. I have to use my phone to see speed which leads to me being distracted from the road to see how fast i am driving. There has been a recall but for some reason does not include my VIN # even tho it is the same issue of the recall. I don't want to pay for a new instrument panel if that is not the issue. Evidently mopar knows what the issue is because it recalled 30000 vehicles for this issue.
SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW, IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER 14+ TIMES FOR THE BATTERY/HYBRID COMPONENTS. IT CAUSES "A FIRE HAZARD" AND I AM INSTRUCTED TO NOT PARK IT IN MY OWN GARAGE, NEAR OTHER VEHICLES AND IT'D BE BEST TO NOT DRIVE IT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE TIMES THAN NOT SINCE OWNING THIS VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEMS PERSIST. RIGHT NOW IT HAS ANOTHER BATTERY/HEATER ISSUE AND IT ISN'T FUNCTIONING PROPERLY, YET I AM TOLD TO DRIVE IT ANYWAY AS THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER WITH NO DATE/FIX IN SIGHT AND THEY DO NOT WANT TO PROVIDE A LOANER INDEFINITELY. MEANTIME, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE, IT'S ALWAYS AT RISK OF CATCHING ON FIRE WHETHER PARKED OR IN DRIVE. MANY OF THESE SAME VEHICLES HAVE CAUGHT FIRE AND PEOPLE ARE BATTLING CHRYSLER/JEEP DAILY. WHEN IS THE SAFETY ENTITY GOING TO STEP UP AND FORCE A BUYBACK FOR THE SAFETY OF THE OWNERS/PASSENGERS? I HAVE A $70000 VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AND IS UNSAFE TO BE ON THE ROADS OR PARKED ANYPLACE.
See attached document for complaint.
I have a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sport that only has 24k miles on it (all oem stock components with zero modification) and I have been experiencing death wobble issues when traveling at highway speeds and driving over seam transitions where the road meets bridge crossings. The vehicle shakes uncontrolably and it's absolutely terrifying. The only way to get it to stop is to remove my foot from the gas pedal, apply the brakes and come to a near stop. I took it to the dealership and all suspension parts are in good condition with no wear and bolts are tightened to oem torques. The dealership is recommending a steering stabilizer be installed, which is going to cost me $400 with no guarantee it will fix the issue. Many Jeep forums state the steering stabilzer is a band aid fix that does not resolve this serious safety defect long term. We'll see what happens, but quite honestly I'm scared to even drive it anymore. If it continues to experience death wobble after this supposed fix, I'm getting rid of it and trading it in on a more reliable brand, but am concerned about the next person who ends up buying it. It's an obvious design flaw that has been going on with Jeeps for 2 decades and Jeep needs to go back to the drawing board and figure out a permanent long term fix. I have owned many vehicles in my life and I have never experienced this problem with other brands. It seems to be synonymous with the Jeep brand.
With less than 35,000 miles on a 2021 jeep wrangler, I have started to experience extreme shaking when going over a bump. Otherwise, known as the “Death Wobble”. The steering wheel shakes uncontrollably and could cause a serious accident while driving. I was told that the 2021 and newer models would not have this problem due to manufactures addressed the design flaw. Jeep has known about this issue for many years but has done nothing to make repairs or changes to the vehicle design. This is a huge safety concern because I could lose control of my vehicle while the steering shakes uncontrollably or cause an accident because the only way to stop the shaking is to quickly decrease speed. My vehicle was inspected by Gillman Jeep in Houston, Texas.
I was driving down the highway about 75 miles an hour I hit a bump and the front tires started shaking had to pull over before it would stop. About a week later it happened again at 65 mph.
I took my 2021 diesel Jeep in for a Y81 Emissions recall on 02.19.24. Since then, my vehicle has had its check engine light go on SIX TIMES with a P0133 alert which refers to an O2 sensor. I have taken it in to the dealership for a resolution six times. Currently, it is set to be diagnosed and repaired yet one more time on 01.22.25. Now we are in the middle of winter and I feel like the vehicle is about to die at intersections and roundabouts when I approach them. I tried to go through an arbitration with FCA USA LLC which produces the Jeep brand and it was denied for a repurchase of the vehicle because the arbitrator felt it was not a safety issue since I still drive the vehicle and they are technically not in violation of the warranty which I did not accept as a resolution. Due to my non-resolved safety concern, I am raising the issue in this forum so hopefully something can be done and others that potentially have the same issue can reach a resolution as well. My hypothesis of the cause of the issue is when the Y81 recall happened, it tuned down the emissions output that was originally higher necessary for the vehicle to run, because I didn't have check engine lights before. By this tune-down of emissions, the engine is not able to produce the correct output to run the vehicle and thus the random lack of power causing a safety issue, and is currently adversely affecting components that are causing the P0133 O2 sensor to alert.
Loss of power when the Jeep was in hybrid mode (Both electric and gasoline engine). This was due to Battery not able to regulate the internal temperature (confirmed by the dealer).
The engine and cluster showed and made noises indicating that the hybrid system was malfunctioning. The cluster indicated a speed limit at high speeds, but never did so. The electric drivetrain was disconnected and the handling and power were severely affected. It was dangerous because the distracting and concerning issues were during a rapid speed and in dangerous conditions with no clear remedy. The check engine, red turtle, and battery lights indicated the problem, but not beforehand. There were some warranty fixes around the battery including recall work.
I have been having random issues with my backup camera on my vehicle and noticed the recall only includes 2024 yrs. I have reported this to my dealership as early as right after purchase in Dec of 2021. I have had the vehicle for 3yrs and it the back up camera stops working randomly at minimum once a month and probably more often than that. My dealership every time I take in for service cant find any issues but now that there is a recall I would like to be included in it.
There is a air filter behind the dash glove box that continues to move (makes sound) as if its running after the vehicle is off. When you open doors you can hear the noise of the filter or component or something making a noise
The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the high-voltage battery. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V720000 (Electrical System); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 21,000.
Received regenerative braking must be serviced notice, followed by loss of motive control. Push accelerator, would not accelerate and actually rolled backwards, multiple notification lights came on, car started to move after 5 seconds, happened again. pulled over to turn on/off car, car would NOT turn on. tried several times and resolved to get it towed. After 5 min, tried one more time to start the car and it did turn on. Functioned normally. Drove to dealership and dealership diagnosis is nothing wrong, dealership now working with Chevrolet engineers.
My name is [XXX] . I am part of the the Jeep 4XE community. I have been heavily invested in the 4XE community from the very beginning. I have the first customer owned Wrangler 4XE, I run a YouTube channel with over 9,000 subscribers and a Facebook group with over 23,000 members. I have several concerns about the 4XE and the way Jeep is possibly mishandling safety issues. I would like to open a dialog with someone at the NHTSA to voice some of these concerns. There has been a lingering battery fire issue that Jeep has now addressed with two recalls. Stories of dealership mishandling are very common. We know if one Wrangler 4XE fire that has happened after the most recent 95B recall. There is also a high failure rate of a component that is called the Electric Coolant Heater. This item is needed for defrost functionality when the vehicle is in electric mode. Many of us in the 4XE community have come to believe that Jeep should offer highly extended or lifetime warranties on this part since it is safety related and has been so problematic. I would like to assemble a team of 4XE owners to consult with the NHTSA on the issues we are seeing. We do not believe Jeep is handling these issues in a manner that is putting the customer safety first and would like to see how we can work together to protect the owners. I took my jeep into the dealer for my 4xe 95b recall. They did not show me pass or fail my car went in on no battery 2 1/2 hrs later they said my car was done. I do not believe they completed the drive cycle test to show pass or fail my odometer reading was only a few miles more then when I dropped it off and no battery charge gas gage hadn't moved. There is no way they did a complete drive cycle. They didn't charge it to over 75% they did not drive it until it was a warm enough temp to run the test. I got nothing but a receipt stating recall software update was done and drive test done. Nothing about if it passed or failed. And under my jeep app they put miscellaneous vehicle inspections. The recall still shows on my car.
Recent recall 95B was performed December 15th, 2024 on my Jeep 4xe. The vehicle passed the road test involved with the safety recall to detect a defective high voltage battery. On December 26th, within 100 miles of the recall test being performed, the vehicle cruise control involuntarily shut off, check engine light illuminated and the vehicle lost power on the freeway. We were able to return home with the vehicle lurching while driving, having erratic acceleration from a stop and pushing through braking. The issues continued a few days later when delivering to the Jeep service center and the Jeep died in the service lane and had to be pushed the rest of the way to the service bay. The "fix'' that Stellantis has provided seems to simply later detect the battery issue that the recall test was designed to detect under their care during the test procedure. There are numerous other 4xe owners that I am aware of that are having the same post-test failures and motive power losses in traffic soon after their vehicle 'passed' the battery test. This 'solution' is causing a dangerous situation for the owners and the general motoring public. The Jeep has since been reevaluated and determined that the battery that the recall was intended to detect is indeed defective and is being replaced.
Ev battery. Oct 4. Code for replace ev battery. Shop wouldn’t replace ev battery because ANOTHER recall for ev came out Oct 6. Recall not available until Nov. appointment for Jan 6. Recall done. No codes for ev battery. Get 1 miles down the road. Won’t run in electric. Switched to hybrid 9 more miles it’s doesn’t use any ev battery. Get into town. No power to pull away from stop sign. I get home and park. Car doesn’t work any more. Won’t turn off. Not all the way. Try to move it. No power. This is going to kill somebody. No throttle at all.
Per the dealer, power distribution center design flawed causing it to fail. Vehicle failed while driving in traffic creating an unsafe condition.
Metal chunks found in engine oil, and as were not metal powder swirl, shavings, or specs, possibly from bottom engine crankshaft. At the crank pulley, with the belt off, I could feel nudge by hand from the middle, for an engine component with max specified endplay 0.012 inches, or fraction of a millimeter. An existing manufacturer recall, and not a safety recall, for this 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo is inspection for loose bolts for water pump inlet. This vehicle will not be available for inspection requests, because it is still not, and waiting to be, diagnosed as the dealer could not necessarily hear an engine issue. I have heard it knock, like a rumbling V8 and turbo whined, and recently I decided to strain the old and knocking oil that I kept and discovered metal. There was something wrong all along. Top engine, with good gas mileage, has been fine. The safety concern to this vehicle is metal in oil to possibly enter top engine and create sudden or instant engine seizure while in operation. The safety of driver or others could be at risk. The safety concern to this vehicle is also the detioration of engine components since they appear under the sole discretion of this motorized vehicle. This means, no other factor known to the driver of this vehicle by which rate of engine detioration has occurred. An indicating observation to be made into this vehicle's safety is the endplay of the crankshaft. This vehicle is nearly 97,000 miles odometer. The endplay seems very excessi
After taking my jeep 4xe in for the 95B recall I drove around 50 miles and the check engine light came on. Once home vehicle would not turn on or charge. Error on dash said “charging system error.” Next day the vehicle would turn on be experience extreme slowness after stopping with bursts of acceleration. The accceleration and breaking system were extremely jerky and I felt like I didn’t know how the car would respond when accelerating which was dangerous.
After performing the 95B recall, within 20-30 miles of driving the CEL came on. After powering off and back on the “service charging system” alert displayed on the dash. The vehicle seemed drivable however, and I proceeded to drive it to the dealership two days later which is about 4 miles away. In multiple instances when trying to accelerate from a stop the vehicle would not accelerate to more than 3-4 mph for multiple seconds leaving me stranded pulling out across traffic in the middle of an intersection waiting on the car to accelerate to a normal speed. Regardless of how much the accelerator was pressed the vehicle just rolled forward very, very slowly. Eventually, the vehicle lurched forward violently. Within this 3-4 mile drive this happened 3 times. The car remained jerky and unpredictable. I was fortunate to be driving at a low traffic time and made sure to allow extra space due to feeling the car acting slow after the CEL appeared. Had I treated it normally during normal commute hours, I would have been hit by oncoming traffic. I left the vehicle at the dealership and am waiting on response.
Seat belt pretensioner failed at less than 34,000 miles. Will not lock or retract
Jeep Death Wobble. Dealer is acting like this is an unknown issue.
While driving on an interstate at approximately 65 mph, i crossed a bridge. When i ran over the expansion joint the steering wheel started violently shaking in my hands. It continued until i slowed down to a near stop and then was fine. On the same trip, it did this several times. When I took the jeep to a local dealer, they told me the steering damper (original to the vehicle) was defective. I helps them replace it and so far have not experienced the problem. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Nearly losing control of a vehicle at 65 mph or more, with traffic all around, is extremely dangerous, as is trying to come to a stop as quickly as possible when surrounded by other vehicles that are going just as fast. I found many reports of similar issues with previous models of jeeps online but obviously their solution did not adequately address the problem.
On occasion, when I put my vehicle in reverse the backup camera displays a black image in violation of the requirements of FMVSS 1111. There are no obstruction on the camera. This is available for inspection if necessary. I have taken it to the manufacturer but due to the intermittent nature they are not able to reproduce the event. I was not able to use the required safety feature to back out of a parking space into a busy street. I have a video of this display not activating correctly.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
