The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after parking on an incline and activating the electronic parking brake, the electronic parking brake failed to disengage. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the rear electronic parking brake actuator had failed due to water intrusion. The actuator was replaced but the failure later reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 17,000.

The vehicle had a recalled for the rear coil springs, took it in for inspection and they gave me a paper at the dealership saying it was placed correctly. After we took it for the inspection my family and I took a trip 6 hours away from home, 15 minutes to getting to our destination the Right Rear Spring detached from the vehicle while driving 45 mph. When the incident happened we all screamed because the vehicle went side to side and got scared even our dog got scared since he was in his kennel at the back of the suv. I’m so thankful nothing happened to us because if my husband would’ve been driving above 60mph we could’ve flipped and got injured. We drove it to the nearest Jeep dealership there was and left our vehicle there to get it fix. We are 6 hours away from where our SUV is at, I’m scared to drive it back home and the same thing happens. I don’t feel safe driving that vehicle.
As noted on the IIHS.org website, 2022 and 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee's built prior to April 2023 experienced a fuel tank rupture in the side impact test conducted by IIHS. Stellantis redesigned the underbody structure to correct this issue. This redesign was put in place on vehicles assembled after March 2023. IIHS originally tested a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee in October 2022 and identified the fuel tank rupture during the side impact test. However, IIHS did not post this information on their website until almost a year later when tests of the redesigned vehicle were performed, and the fuel tank leak issue had been corrected. Hence, 2022 and 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s built prior to April 2023 have a significant safety concern that IIHS did not inform the public about in a reasonable time frame and more importantly, Stellantis is aware of but has not issued a recall to correct the issue on vehicles that were built prior to the redesign. Please review the side crash results on IIHS paying attention to the 2022 test where the fuel tank ruptured. Brings back memories of the infamous Ford Pinto gas tank design. I am asking for NHTSA to assist in requiring Stellantis to issue a recall on vehicles built prior to the redesign to either modify the vehicle to address the fuel tank rupture concern, or if that is not possible buy back the vehicles. Please contact me by e-mail [XXX] ) of cell [XXX] if you require more information to pursue this issue. Thank you. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUA

The program saving seat are never the same. it seems to be the random positions and constant adjusting of the seats . I took it to the dealer and they performed a re programming per a service bulletin. It didn't help. Took it back today and they can't find anything wrong with it. No codes and they confirmed the previous programming took and is up to date.
We have a recently purchased Jeep L with 5200 miles on it. Never off road, just a family commuter. Today my wife was driving the car for the second time and the power steering went out completely and it was very hard to turn the wheel. A bunch of other likes came on like the adaptive cruise and active lane management and front collision icons. The dash was lit up with warning including a large steering wheel icon in red. We shut the car down and restarted multiple times and the issue was still there. After 15 minutes of being on the phone to get it towed to the dealer, the issue went away on the next start with just a check engine light remaining.
Gas gauge, miles to empty, and low fuel indicator are not correct. I ran out of gas (without knowing it) twice. There was no gad light that came on. Fuel gauge said almost 1/4 tank full and 68 miles to empty. The first time this happened I had it towed to dealership thinking the AEB system stopped the car. Dealership found no issues. It happened a second time and my husband thought about the gas gauges being inaccurate and put gas in. He was right, started right up after putting gas in. After I filled it, I drove 300 miles before the Full line on the gauge started to move down. The whole system is not right when showing fuel levels. You would think the gas light would at least come on if you were out of gas
The spring coil has been recalled. Took vehicle to interstate dodge in West Monroe, LA and they stated they are only allowed to order one coil at a time per week, so it will take 3 to 4 weeks to get the parts. I need both coils replaced. This is unacceptable and puts me in danger every day I have to drive it to work or store. I’m suppose to drive 9 hours away in 3 weeks to take care of my elderly parents.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was receiving routine service at the dealer, he was informed about a recall on the rear coil springs. The contact stated that parts were backordered for over thirty days. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after leaving the local dealer and driving approximately 35 MPH, the rear coil springs detached. The passenger’s side end of the vehicle dropped towards the ground. There were no reported injuries. The detached parts were recovered by the CHP. The vehicle was towed back to the local dealer, where it was confirmed that the rear coil springs had detached. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V413000 (Suspension). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
Power steering stopped working when pulling out of parking spot. Then warnings about blind spot and check engine lights came on.
While turning left, vehicle hit brakes on its own, driver and two passengers experienced neck pain. Two vehicles behind both screeched to a halt. There is dash cam video, but won’t let me upload.
The uconnect system on this vehicle locks up, glitches and is unresponsive. This makes the hands free function for cell phone use unreliable at best, as well as all touchscreen functions inoperable. The problems with the uconnect systems make driving the car very distracting and potentially unsafe at times. These problems have been inspected by the dealership service department and confirmed not to be normal. The dealership service technicians have attempted to fix these problems four times by replacing two radios, a touchscreen and reloading software. None of these attempts have been successful. The uconnect system has had these issues starting the first week of ownership Nov 2022
Brand new car purchased on July 12, 2023, with 84 miles. In 19 days the car has been in service for 3 days to date, left stranded with all the listed issues. 1.Navigation screen randomly goes blank/black while driving 2.Audio Bluetooth connection randomly not allowing me to hear or be heard by caller 3.Rear AC system is not blowing air, even when front AC is set to lowest setting 4.Cell wireless charging blue light, but there is no actual charging happening 5.USB plugin not actually charging 6.Driver Assist lanes disappearing 7.Auto Drive setting stuck on D2 while driving 8.Acceleration became erratic, to the point where the car would not start 9.Randomly slow to break and accelerate. 10.Average MPG is between 15 and 16 11.Driver's dashboard becomes erratic, and dimly
The vehicle while in cruise set at 70mph accelerated to nearly 90mph and would not disengage even when brake applied, had to turn vehicle off. It has done this twice almost causing an accident. Vehicle has also suddenly applied the brakes very hard while driving approx 55 mph, nothing in front of vehicle. Apparently vehicle was applying the brakes because when we reached home the brake rotors were glowing cherry red. Dealer has looked at it once and said in is probably our pedal getting stuck on the floor mats. I did not have foot on any pedal while in cruise. This last time no check engine light cam on.
-The front and rear camera work intermittently, and yes it is available for inspection upon request. - During the morning, afternoon, or during the night, the package that includes the security that the vehicle has about vision by cameras does not work, putting their own lives and others at risk by not seeing the blind and low spots from the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 2023, causing a fatal accident. - The has been confirmed by a dealer because me personally and my wife have delivered the Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve 2023 with the problem in its maximum expression to the dealer. - The vehicle has been inspected more than eight times, but the dealer technician and Chrysler technician don't know yet how to fix the problem. Non exist any warning lamp, messages, or other symptoms of the problem before the failure.
It might be comparable to the Jeep recall that is now in effect, except it might be in the front. The noise is coming from the front driver's side and am experiencing the exact same problem. Every time I reverse, do a three-point turn, drive straight, or make a left or right turn. My Jeep produces a cracking sound as though it's ready to break. In addition to hearing it, I can feel it on my feet and steering wheel. I don't feel protected and I do have 2 little girls. When I took it to the dealership, they weren't sure if it was covered by the recall or if it was something else entirely. I drive no faster than 40 to 45 mph out of fear of colliding with someone not drive on the highway.
I bought this Jeep on Sept 2022 and by April my Jeep was already asking me for an oil change. I purchased a lease with 15 miles and in April 07 2023 for my first oil change. I went in to the dealer with 2,807 miles. Now I am noticing from April 7 until todays date I am already at a 25% oil life with a 4,376 miles. It has only been 3 months. I believe there is a default with my oil tank.
Airbag requiring service light came on at 100 miles. Then the SOS call button was stuck lit up with an error message on the touch screen every time vehicle was started. Then the AEB system went off while driving (not in danger of being in a crash) and brought the vehicle to a stop and put itself in Park and shut off. Vehicle would not start again after that. Had to get it towed

Our 2023 jeep grand Cherokee was recall due to the coil springs. I was in the shop being repaired for two weeks. They called us and told us that the problem was taken care of and it was repaired and ready. 20 minutes after we picked it up the coil spring flew off the car as well as other parts almost causing us to get into an accident. The parts flew out and behind us and then into traffic behind us causing other cars to swerve out of the way. Again, this occurred after they said, they fixed the very doing/coil that came out of our car. Very dangerous. We hv pictures of our son with the parts in his hand after looking and then grabbing them from side of road . We left the parts with hero dealership We hope they don’t try to re use them
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the infotainment screen went blank. The failure also caused the back over prevention camera to become inoperable. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer on several occasions; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 3,000.
Sunroof glass exploded while driving. Nothing hit the sunroof
Sunroof exploded while driving on highway. Nothing hit glass just exploded up and out. Glass everywhere
Distracting pop up advertisements for Sirius XM keep popping up on my info screen with no clear way to disable. Dangerous distraction.
Bought the vehicle new. At around 3000 miles the vehicle dash had all dummy lights on and giving me all warnings. Then while driving the vehicle dash started flashing on and off and the vehicle started loosing power. Has been sitting at the dealer for 2 months. No time when parts are coming and if it's fixable. Advised to contact Chrysler and already did. Keep getting round around and case numbers with no resolution.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the back-up camera froze. The contact stated that the system was rebooted; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the mechanic performed a software update; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500.

We have been without service of the Grand Cherokee L vehicle for nearly 6 of the 11 weeks since we leased the vehicle. The four (4) incidents and ‘repair attempts’ to ‘fix’ the randomly/sudden occurring mechanical and electrical problems were inter-related and causal to the mechanical and electrical blackout troubles. 1.02/27/23 Purchase 2.03/20/23 631 total miles traveled. Dash board blackout. a.Service Dept “reset software”. 3.03/31/23 912 total miles traveled. Complete dashboard, radio and navigation blackout a.Service Dept did not experience random failures, “therefore no repair action was warranted”. 4.04/01/23 930 total miles traveled. While traveling at approximately 45 mph vehicle suddenly seemed to drop gears - the rpm went from 2k up to 6k, the suddenness of the drop of gears had our seat belts tightening. pulled the car to the side of the round and car remained at 6k rpm. I turned the car off, waited a few seconds then restarted the vehicle and proceed home. 5.04/02/23 after starting the car remotely car literally would not get out of automated start mode. I had to turn the vehicle off, wait a couple of minutes before it would start again. In driving the vehicle to the repair shop the power went out of the radio/gps/etc system again. a.Service Dept found RADIO with internal failure. Ordered replacement radio.” b.On inquiry, Service stated the CAM bus (software version ‘AG’ was replaced with updated ‘AI’ version.) 6.04/26/23 1,051 total miles traveled. On exiting a
The Uconnect 5.0 screen (which controls all safety and operating systems) and system continues to malfunction with a black screen. This seems to happen more frequently when the car is put into reverse and the backup camera is activated. There have also been times when the screen freezes requiring a "reboot". Thus when malfunctions occur, there is no backup camera nor is there any ability to operate safety systems. This seems to be occurring every single day. So far dealer has been unable to replicate problem and thus cannot repair it.
Incident #1 - Power steering issue. While exiting the driveway, I lost power steering along with unresponsive controls such as "lane management" and "traction control." Alert on dash read, "power steering unavailable," and engine light was on. After turning the vehicle off, power steering and other controls returned after about 20 minutes of occasionally turning the vehicle off and on again. Service was performed with a "software update." Incident #2 - About a month later, while driving on the road, I abruptly lost power steering and the ability to accelerate, as the gear shift disingaged and was unresponsive. I pulled over to a rolling stop and tried shifting gears but the gearshift still would not respond. I then turned the vehicle off, waited a few seconds, then turned it back on. After doing so, all controls were restored. I didn't check for warning lights. The vehicle was not taken in to get serviced. Safety risk - Had these malfunctions happened on a busy street, it definitely could've caused a serious accident, as my control of the vehicle was very limited. The vehicle is available for inspection.
The UConnect screen in a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee intermittently stops working, freezes, or is non-responsive when touched when the car is started. It has only happened when the car is started, not while driving. This is a problem as I rely on the rear camera view to be certain no one is walking or driving behind the car when I back out the garage and my view is limited. Nothing shows on the screen. I can deal with no media showing but not no rear camera view. Late yesterday, I started the car in town and the screen just showed an icon with a radio and FM on it. (Attached photo) I've never seen that icon before. There was no sound, no view when the car was in reverse, and no response to my touching anywhere on the screen to change it. I couldn't access the fan direction, media, or anything that should have shown on the screen. This has happened over 3 times since I purchased the car 1/3/23. After driving 15 minutes, it still did not come on. At my destination, I turned the car off and on several times to see if it would re-set itself. The screen was blank each time I restarted the car. (Photo attached) 3 hours later, I started the car and the screen showed the whole system being re-booted. It was like a computer screen that freezes and has to be totally restarted. It turned itself off. However, this was hours after the incident. This morning, it worked fine, again. I have contacted a local Jeep dealer to check on it. The first appointment available is a week away. I brought u
While stopped at the light with your foot on the brake, the vehicle will accidentally accelerate and almost hit the car in front of you. I looked (my foot was still on the brake). Then, when I try to accelerate, this vehicle fails to get up and go... it's like it's stuck in first or second gear... I avoid the freeway because I'm afraid someone will hit me in the rear end! very dangerous.
Passenger Window Cracked in between glass (not from rock)....could be a defect in original glass used or from heat. but either way, would be especially dangerous if one day the glass would suddenly give way and break (or violently burst) onto my passenger! It was first one. 800 miles Now three separate...I called and sent pictures to dealership with no response. Only 1400 miles on vehicle. I have pictures
I took delivery of the vehicle on February 15, 2023. On May 23, 2023 I was driving 35 MPH and without warning, I lost power steering and the brakes (felt like bricks when I tried to stop the vehicle). The vehicle never slowed and continued at 35 MPH. I had to swerve to not hit other vehicles as I was going through stop lights. I put the car in neutral and it slowed down and then put in park.after about 3-4 attempts of turning off/on, the steering started to work as did the brakes. I drove the .5 mi down the street with my hazard lights on back to my house. At that point the engine light remained on. The dashboard lit up with numerous alerts (I made sure to take pictures of everything). I called a tow truck and sent pictures to the dealership. They had the car for 2 days, called and said that they cannot duplicate the issue, despite receiving and reviewing the pictures I sent. They said no other option but to pick up the vehicle or let the service tech drive the vehicle overnight to see if the issue could be duplicated.
While driving the vehicle on two different occasions. One was out of town and the screens and dash board going black. I tried turning off the vehicle and back on to reset it. It did not work! Then on another occasion the screen went black would not power off. The dash screen read ALM and cruise control unavailable needs service. I drove straight to the dealership and showed them. They scheduled service the next day. Got a call one of the service technicians was aware of the situation and stated Chrysler needed to provide a recall on the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee or create an update for the software system. Vehicle is still not fixed. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle.
When slowing down at a stop sign, in snowy conditions, the vehicle went into brake assist and locked the brakes up. Causing the vehicle to slide at an interesting and collide with another car. I had complained several times to the dealer about the braking system being to sensitive and touchy before the accident. This was purchased new and the accident happened about 1800 miles on it. Also, the air bag did not deploy. I was told by the dealer, it was because the impact was not hard enough. But the alerts on my phone, said air bag failure Since the accident, I have had this jeep back to the dealer several times. I asked for a full brake inspection, because I have never driven a vehicle that 1- brakes for you for no reason, 2- extremely touchy. The dealer service dept admitted the brakes were touchy, and drove an identical model to compare, and concluded that it must be normal. Didnt actually inspect them. It is NOT normal, and I do not feel safe driving this vehicle in the winter. I have since turned off all brake assist options in the settings, but it is still auto braking. Today at about 3000 miles, when slowing down to make a turn, the emergency braking system started acting up with no one close to me. There is something very wrong with this system, and needs to be addressed before serious injuries happen.
The brand new car, not even a month in use, turned itself off in the road. Gave several error message. I turned back on and drive several miles again when it turned it self off again, showing the same error messages. A towing truck took it to the dealership Miami Lakes Automall on Wednesday 5/26 no body in service department answers my calls to give me information on my car
On four separate incidences, the automatic emergency brake engaged while driving the vehicle at speeds in excess of 30 mph. There was no warning or reason for the emergency brake to engage. This resulted in the car needing to be towed to the dealer on two occasions as the vehicle froze and was not drivable. The dealer states they are unable to diagnose the problem or fix it as there are no codes that populate during the diagnostic session. This is an obvious safety hazard as this is a family vehicle with two small children in the rear seats.
Crunk up the vehicle to leave work and power steering immediately went out, messages and warning lights saying lane departure and blind spot warning were unavailable. No issues prior to this. I drive it to work with no issues or warning lights. I had it towed to dealership because it was unable to be driven. Thank God I was just in a parking lot and not driving down the highway when this happened. It can cause a wreck, killing myself and or another person in the vehicle with me as well as other people involved in the crash. Dealership gave me the run around and I was not able to speak with just one person. Nobody there was communicating with each other causing more chaos and frustration. This Jeep only has 3,315 miles on it so it should not be doing this.
While driving down a two lane highway suddenly a large boom occurred. I stopped in the road as I thought I blew a tire. Rather it was the right rear coil spring that popped suddenly and broke off the vehicle. The coil hung behind the tire and wedged with the bumper. Back wheel was unable to move. This occurred on the right rear passenger side. The whole vehicle dipped and dropped down. Because of where the spring was I had to have the car towed. Car is 5 months old. We do not take off road.
The front and rear parking cameras are inoperable and infrequently randomly operate. Dealer performed a proxy reconfiguration and reset the park assist module. System worked briefly then reverted back to original unoperative condition. Assigned star case S2208000172 claiming manufacturer is “investigating” and that no repair is available. A software update was supposed to correct the issue. It did not. We’ve had the vehicle since March 1. When we asked about replacing the park assist module we where to we needed to wait for another software update, the timing of which is unknown as there is no fix.
The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while shifted in reverse, the rear-view camera failed and displayed a blank screen. The contact then stated that the front camera then failed and displayed a blank screen. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that there was a software glitch that needed to be updated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that they were aware of the issue with no time frame. The failure mileage was approximately 25.
There are multiple safety recalls for this vehicle that I have only had for 1 month. I began the new lease with this vehicle beginning of March and the vehicle has been back to the dealership 4 times already. Issue #1: The middle part of the steering wheel where the air bag is located came completely off the steering. It was dangling almost causing my boyfriend and I to get t-boned. Since the middle part of the steering wheel was dangling and me trying to turn the wire got caught in the steering wheel not allowing me turn. I was also very lucky that the airbag alone did not deploy in my lap. The car is currently at the dealership getting "fixed" I truly believe that this specific car has multiple recalls. There was no warning at all just came right off. Issue #2: Underneath the car the seam sealer was faulty and the dealership has to weld the underneath of the car back together. There was also no warning to this I could hear the pieces clinking together underneath the car. Issue #3: The gas pedal vibrates when you hit speeds 40 mph and above to the point where my foot goes numb. This puts my ability to drive the car at risk especially if my foot goes numb from driving my car. The vehicle is back at the dealership to get this issue fixed for the second time. No warning lamps or messages for this issue.
1-Powertrain wobbles and vibrates at 70MPH / Safety issue and can cause shaft failure/accident due to a weak/worn-out mounts and cause the drive to loose control. 2- Control Arms/Ball Joints Defects at Factory - Going thru bumps the front-end will produce noise and vehicle will shift/skip-jump of the pavement. Safety hazard and can/will cause driver to loose control.
Upon starting vehicle, system reported collision, ABS warning, traction control warning and wouldn't release automated parking brake. Vehicle was parked and there were no other vehicles in the vicinity while it was parked there.
The surround view cameras including the back up camera are not working. My major saftety concern is that when I am backing up I am unable to see what is behind me.The dealer has tried to fix the cameras at least 4 times and has been unable to resolve the issue.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
