My vehicle has in cold weather no ability to clear and defrost the interior cabin of the vehicle As described in the recent recall, issued by JEEP, my Vin number was not included as part of This problem is obviously related, and the condition described in your campaign number is an exact match for the condition I experience during the winter months. While driving in Boston in heavy traffic, my vehicle fogged to the point where I couldn’t see where I could pull over or if I could pull over or the vehicle in front of me fogged to the point of visibility and every window I had to put my hazard lights on and stop in the middle of traffic. I reported this to JEEP directly, they attributed it to a design defect? The most recent Recall issued by JEEP left my Vin number out. With respect to the issue with the headlights Activating in auto mode. My vehicle does not have high beam headlights. When the high beams are activated There’s absolutely zero change in lighting conditions and the fog lights stay engaged. Stellaris failed once again to identify all the applicable VIN numbers. What else are they failing to include as there have been four major safety recalls with my make model and year jeep that did not include my Vin number which is disconcerting to say the least. Especially given the most recent airbag recall In the possible lack of activation. In my opinion, they are limiting this recall by guessing what production dates apply and are ignoring the vehicles that were produced im
The problem happens intermittently and not all the time. I will be driving on the highway or in the city and sometimes when I barely touch the gas pedal my car will accelerate at high speeds, and the RPM gauge will go all the way into the seven mark and it Turns red and it starts beeping and the only way to get that off is for me to let off the gas pedal and come to a stop and then shift it from drive to park and then that’ll usually fix the problem. And other times when I’m on the highway. I will barely touch the gas pedal and it’ll accelerate at high speeds and I’ll have to go from the gas pedal to having to slam my brakes on to avoid hitting the vehicle in front of me. A friend of mine who had driven my vehicle, called me and asked me if I noticed that it was doing that as well and I explained to her that I I was aware. I have not taken it to the dealership yet for that problem yet however, I do have an appointment made. I’m just waiting on them to find me a loaner vehicle that will seat my six person family because I cannot drive a different vehicle that does not fit my whole family .
During operation of the vehicle on 12/5/23 the vehicle lost communication to the power steering module, instrument cluster and entertainment center. The car was able to safely be stopped. After restart all functions were normal. The car was brought to the dealer on 12/6 for troubleshooting and historic codes consistent with complaint were present. As of current day 3/29/24 FCA (Fiat Chrysler auto) has agreed to repurchase the vehicle under Mass Lemon Law Guidelines.

On 03/24/2023 at 1:30pm I was driving to work on the local streets when multiple warning lights came up on the dashboard.I immediately pulled over on the side of the road to see what was the problem.I decided to look under the hood and noticed the coolant reservoir was empty.I continued checking the engine compartment and noticed one of the hose that leads to the radiator had become disconnected. This was a dangerous situation because if I was on the highway,I probably would not have been able to pull over immediately and the vehicle might have shut down on the highway which could’ve resulted in an accident.I contacted my local Jeep dealer on 03/25/2024 and explained to them what happened. The earliest appointment I was given to have the vehicle inspected was 03/28/2023.

This vehicle was sold to us with this issue. The dealer knew that this problem existed. We took the vehicle in for service when a warning light about the steering came on a few weeks ago. The dealer said that there was not a problem with the steering other than a wire that had been chewed by a rodent for which the dealer charged $650 to fix.

I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4WD Overland, If the NHTSA would do a web search this issue is a common issue that many people are complaining and concerned about. The forward collision warning with automatic braking is NOT functioning or has been turned down where it is completely ineffective or is not functioning at all. I have had my vehicle in two different Jeep dealerships and have been told that the system is functioning and not showing any error codes. I have an active case working under Jeep (Case # [XXX]) and my vehicle was inspected by a Jeep representative on [XXX], who also claims that the system is working. I have driven several different makes of vehicles with a Collision Avoidance System and have seen and experienced when this system functions properly, I am a Police Officer and currently drive a 2021 Chevy Tahoe with this system and have had many alerts in the two years I have driven this vehicle. I have approximately 12,500 miles on this Jeep and have NOT had one alert with this amount of mileage, I have has a couple close calls where I have had to take evasive action and heavy braking to avoid a collision and not even had a warning of any kind. There are to many people complaining of this same issue and many of the same people are quoting the same company verbiage and quotes from the jeep service departments saying that the system is functioning correctly, and there is no way to test the system. Please look into this issue and research just how many people
When starting and stopping the engine an awful noise is heard, it sounds like metal is grinding for about 2 seconds. Also on one occasion the electrical system seems to go haywire, as my power lift gate would not work. I tried several things to include turning the vehicle on and off, pressing the lift gate button several times, pressing my clicker, and pressing the lift gate button in the cabin area of the vehicle, to no avail. I finally had to pull the lift gate down, while this was occuring the inside the vehicle on the lift gate lights would turn on and off it was the strangest thing.
Screen froze while driving and prevented back up camera from working. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times for this issue and they stated they can not duplicate it so no action was taken.
I was driving on a major interstate and my car suddenly stopped shifting the gears to allow for faster speed. RPM's were going up to 6 and 7 and the fastest I could go was 30mph. I confirmed my vehicle was only in Drive, and was not in a "sport mode that allows for manua shifting". Was able to safely get off the interstate and pull over, This could have caused a accident. Shut down vehicle and restarted and then performed correctly. Called dealership and they stated they wouldn't be able to get me in for 3 weeks and if the vehicle is now not doing it and issue can not be duplicated there wouldn't be anything they can do.
Wind shield fluid is not dispensing onto windshield, wipers operated but no fluid dispensed. With salt on roads visibility out the wind shield became nearly zero. There were no symptoms of an issue before it happened, no warning lamps or messages. Fluid would dispense to rear window meaning system is operational and there is fluid in the tank. Windshield washer fluid tube runs under the insulation on hood of car, found the tube has become disconnected from T-joint under the hood and fluid was running into engine compartment and not on wind shield. Defect happened at ~20,000 miles on car.
I have a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve. I acquired it in February of last year. I feel my vehicle is not performing according to specifications. I’ve taken it in for service numerous times. The sales manager test drove it with my husband and acknowledged there is something causing it to vibrate at certain speeds. The service manager test drove it with my husband and also acknowledged there is something causing it to vibrate at certain speeds. Jeep agreed to have a technician look at it and we asked if we could be present to drive it with the tech and were told yes. The Jeep technician was dispatched, in the middle of the night, to test drive it and reported there was nothing wrong with it and my case was closed. We were not even given the chance to drive with the tech or discuss the situation. I also experience what I call “lag braking”. I will press the brake pedal and it feels like it’s going to come to a stop and then just before you stop it gives way and I have to press it harder, really put my foot into it. This doesn’t happen all the time just randomly. Additionally, the passenger side folding mirror has been damaged since day one. They say they have replaced it 2 or 3 times and it still rubs the plastic so there are marks on the mirror arm when it is closed. I was told there is nothing they can do about it..... I have had two other Jeep Grand Cherokees with retractable mirror and neither one of them had that happen, ever. I’ve been on several Jeep forums and
Jeep tells me I need to leave my car for several days to repair the recall. However, they refuse to provide me with a loaner vehicle, and I need a vehicle to survive. I have work and family commitments. This is harming me as the consumer when the recalled item is the responsibility of Jeep.
When the transmission warms up to operating temp, the first gear shift is extremely rough from a stop. It is most noticeable when accelerating on a highway. It is even worse when utilizing Sport mode. The best way to describe it, is a jerking motion or the transmission failing to shift in time. This is an everyday occurrence and not a random one. My concern is the transmission will fail in the middle of driving on a busy highway. The car has been to the dealer and according to them, this is “normal operation”. It has not been inspected by anyone other than a dealer and no warning lamps are on. This has been an ongoing issue since the date of purchase.
The vehicles climate control/hvac system has inadequate ventilation that prevents air movement to occur. In cold tempatures all all of the vehicles windows fog and ice over form the inside. This results in the driver loosing visibility out of any window. During cold weather conditions, the rear passengers, windows, and rear wind window, even with defrost drawn ice up immediately along with the double moon roof. Problem limits, visibility, making the vehicle, unsafe to drive due to the limited visibility caused by this inadequate and design deficiency. There are no heating system vents besides in the front dash of the vehicle due to the moonroof. The rear climate controls do nothing to remedy of the issue . When I reported the issue to JEEP corporate immediately after purchase, they acknowledged the design deficiency, and that they were working corrected for future models. This is unacceptable and creates a hazardous driver condition for any vehicle. Had I know this prior to purchase I would have never bought the vehicle as there is no remedy.
The contact owns a 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited. The contact stated that while driving with her daughter, at approximately 2 MPH in a parking lot, the sun visor was pulled down and as she glanced in the mirror unaware of the surroundings, the vehicle crashed into a pole. No damage to the pole. The contact sustained chest injuries, and the contact's daughter, in the passenger seat sustained a leg injury. Both required medical attention. A police report was filed. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Alert did not detect the object in front of the vehicle as intended. On another occasion, while driving at 50 MPH, the feature did not detect a vehicle that suddenly stopped in front of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
Took my car in for a recall in June 2023 and as of January of 2024, the dealer has still failed to fix the issue.
My on board screen for everything the car does shuts down completely very often and if it is not shut down it goes black screen for a few seconds and then returns. This is not acceptable to me as I lose my navigation which I depend on a lot
Dashboard showed Transmission Error Message: Service Transmission Continue in D, Do Not Shift or Turn off Engine Until you Reach a Desired Location, You may not be able to shift again until serviced. Vehicle was stuck in 1st gear and would not shift out for 5 minutes. Taken to dealer with engine light on and shown pictures of error messages and dealer found nothing wrong with vehicle. This all happened on a highway and I had to navigate from high speeds to slow and stop in the exit lane.
Driver Display goes out every couple days (or when it feels like it) Display goes blank and you must stop and turn off car to get it back on. All controls, as camera, gps, handsfree calls are not operational when the display goes into a reboot mode and then blank, under you pull over and shut the car off, turn it back on and then it's back to normal. Sometimes it just reboots while driving of no reason while on a call, following directions using GPS etc. Safety concern since while driving driver (myself) while alone in car will try to get back working if I'm on a call or following the GPS. I know it's my fault for doing so while driving but under certain circumstances it human nature to try getting it all working again when you're lost or in a area you're not familiar with and could cause a major accident or put my life or someone else's in danger trying to fix it while driving. Most times is works normal for like a week or two, then its starts over. Deal told me it's nothing they can fix since many may have the same issues and it's a software problem that only comes from over the air waves. Well, Jeep keeps telling there's a update coming every quarter and when that quarter comes and I still have issues they tell me "oh there's another update coming in the beginning of the next quarter etc... Been told this 3 times now, and the latest now is there's a update coming in the 1st quarter of 2024 to correct that issue
I rented a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee at our local airport (Monterey, California) and drove it to Los Angeles and back for a total of about 700 miles over four days. I am an experienced driver and have been working on cars all my adult life. On several occasions, I attempted to the use the cruise control function to set a fixed speed for my journey. In doing so, I would first turn cruise control ON, accelerate to the desired speed, then MOMENTARILY press the SET button, at which point the vehicle would 'remember' my current speed and maintain this speed indefinitely. Nothing unusual about this, and it's how I've used cruise control in multiple cars over the years. Now, as in a lot of cruise control systems, one may use the SET button to cause the vehicle to accelerate, instead of pressing on the gas pedal. This is also a common way of doing things. One holds down the SET button, the vehicle increases speed, and once the vehicle gets to the desired speed, one releases the button and the current speed is maintained. But not in this Jeep Grand Cherokee. Instead, I found that if I pressed and held down the SET button for a few seconds that the vehicle would CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE long after I had released the SET button. For example: Traveling at 75 mph, I held the SET button for two or three seconds and released it. The vehicle began to accelerate at about two seconds, but continued accelerating for a period of twenty seconds, until I finally stepped on the brake, at which time th

My vehicle was stopped for several minutes on an upgrade, with stopped cars in front of me due to a traffic jam. I needed to keep pressure on the brake, lest my car roll backwards. After about three minutes, brake pedal lost pressure and my foot went to floor. The engine then went into gear and my car rammed car in front. Engine stalled on impact and was hard to restart. Vehicle currently at Jeep dealer awaiting inspection from Stellantis tech team. This situation reported to their customer care center. No warning lights appeared on dash prior to crash. Indeed, this could have been a more serious accident. I will never trust this vehicle again, and intend to take steps to exit my lease.

While driving on the freeway, our sunroof window exploded and shattered completely. We were not around any other cars or an overpass. Thankfully the upper screen was closed otherwise glass would have fallen on us. I have read on Jeep forums that this is happening to a lot of newer Grand Cherokees, so it has to be a manufacturing issue.
The dealer has been putting us off for months on the safety recall for the coil spring issue. They keep telling us that the parts are unavailable. We are afraid to drive our brand new car. They will not give us an ETA on the repair.
Front panel of the panoramic sunroof spontaneously shattered with no visible causes, warnings, etc. Safety risks included potential glass being introduced to the cab of the vehicle had the headliner panel been open for natural lighting. Other risks include damaged headliner and electrical components depending on where the glass traveled. Dealership claims this is not an ongoing issue though multiple forums talk about this happening as well for the same style vehicle. We will be dropping car off at the dealership for evaluation as the car is covered under bumper to bumper warranty.
I am reaching out to discuss a serious and concerning issue I recently experienced with my Jeep Grand Cherokee L. While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power steering completely, making it incredibly difficult to control. This was not only unexpected but also quite frightening, given the potential for accidents in such situations. To add to the concern, about six warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. Notably, messages like "Blind Spot Monitoring System Unavailable", "Lane Assistance", and, most critically, a warning about the power steering were displayed. I noticed the check engine light come up as well and the detectors on my mirrors were lit up as if the entire system was malfunctioning. Having looked into potential causes, I came across a recall notice for the 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L models regarding a steering assembly issue. I am deeply concerned that my vehicle might be affected by this recall and, considering the risks associated with such failures, I believe this matter needs urgent attention. Additionally, I had my little one in the car and am deeply concerned that we could have potentially been involved in an accident related to the malfunction. I’m reading that others have experienced the same issues
My emergency braking system doesn’t work and jeep corporate can’t fix it. The car won’t stop and won’t notify me in an emergency and it’s not safe. I accidently backed into a tree when my parking warning system and blind spot warning system didn't work. Damage to my vehicle was to the right rear quarter panel, bumper, tailgate and tail light. It was only after the accident occurred, that I found out that Jeep had a recall for the rearview camera visibility system. I feel that Jeep should be responsible for the repairs. My insurance company advised me to file a complaint with you and also with Jeep before they become involved. Please advise me as to what steps I should take. On 10/07/2023, about 7:30 pm, I was driving down 6th Street in Beaumont California at about 30 mph speed when all of a sudden the engine made a horrible loud noise and it looked like the accelerator pedal was suddenly hit. It seemed that the vehicle speed did not increase accordingly, but my foot had released the gas pedal already. Once I confirmed that the noise was indeed coming from my car, I pulled over and turned off the engine while the loud noise was continuing. Then I restarted the car and the problem didn't reoccur this time. Then, the car has performed normally.
While backing out of garage as I routinely do each morning, my gauge panel indicated a "Service Steering System" light as well as the check engine light. I lost all power steering. I unhooked battery, and reconnected. Power steering was now available, but the check engine light remains on. I took car to dealership where it has set for 8 days. I have been told they are waiting on part #68628263-AA, a rack & pinion. I was not offered a loaner vehicle or an explanation other than that they are waiting on a part. I was told to just "take the car home and drive it if I knew how to reset the battery to get power steering to work". This seems very unsafe.

Vehicle made left turn with partially obstructed side view and struck a Pedestrian in a crosswalk. Pedestrian impact with center of vehicle (license plate). No Pedestrian Emergency Braking activated. Vehicle brought to the dealer (with LE Reconstruction) - front radar sensor not tracking. Further tests of vehicle with live pedestrians walking in front of vehicle; both from step off curb into bike lane and live pedestrians walking across the front of the vehicle with no alert or apparent tracking. All tests performed above 3mph (5kph) and below 39mph. Test also above 30mph with lane line activation, but did not detect Pedestrian path intrusion. Inside, the AEB for Pedestrian Emergency Braking is ON, with "Warning + Active Braking". See photos. Tested with all three sensitivity settings (Med, Near, Far). Additional: Rear sensors worked while in reverse with a Pedestrian side approach. Bosch CDR/EDR 900 connected, no Pedestrian option illuminated (only Airbag). Further: Tested another Grand Cherokee with similar trim options, on similar tests and it too did not detect or alert to Pedestrian path intrusion.
The front bumper clips do not hold the bumper in place and comes unhooked on both sides while driving
When turning the vehicle to the left there is a rubbing noise that comes from the front end.
The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the brakes were inoperable. While driving in a parking lot, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. The ABS, traction control, and brake warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the wiring. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle at the dealer parking lot, the same warning lights illuminated. The brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle remained at the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 5,364.

Faulty rear camera. After 2 days that I bought the car, whenever I put reverse mode, a blue screen comes up saying “camera system unavailable”. Rear camera won’t work. It works sometimes and sometimes the blue screen comes up, even after resetting the screen.
There is extreme vibration in this vehicle and it gets worse daily. I believe there is something terribly wrong with this Jeep and it's not due to poor alignment. I also experience very hard / stiff bounce back when on bumpy roads. Something that should not be so bad with this type of Jeep. I recently met a woman with a 2022 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve who said she is experiencing the same exact things. I don't think this is a coincidence.
Making left hand turn through 4-way intersection. Car opposite of us also making left hand turn. Our Grand Cherokee collision system thought the two vehicle were going to collide and locked the brakes in the middle of the intersection almost causing a 4 car accident. This is the second time this has happened since purchasing 06/03/23. Driver neck injury sustained. Seeking medical attention. Jeep is currently at the dealership where they are trying to reproduce/diagnose with no success. Multiple online articles found showing complaints of this EXACT issue proving it's not isolated to our vehicle. NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
