Multiple issues occuring starting (documented) at 22,719 miles (09/27/2022) - stop/start and remote start had not been functioning properly - vehicle died. Required towing to dealer. Both batteries were dead. Upon leaving dealer they had not reconnected stop/start. Fast forward to 05/04/2024 and vehicle once again unchargeable to start. Took warrantied battery back to dealer and they wanted us to tow it there to check. We spent 350.91 to replace ourselves due to a lack of confidence with Jeep. Then on 05/20/2024 took it to a 4x4 center and discovered multiple issues with vehicle from manufacturing and dealer work. To start -- 1) the rear differential pinion seal is leaking 2) the power stearing box is aluminum and showed signs of flex and contact 3) dealer installed lift was incomplete leaving the front axle off center (visually observed about a 3" offset).

The factory sunroof on my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon detached at highway speeds. The springs that hold tension on the clamps that secure the soft top to the frame, unbeknownst to me at the time, lost tension. While travelling down the highway the soft top clamps loosened from a small bump and the wind caught the soft top itself. I immediately reacted, reached up, and tried to bring the soft top back down as I was frantically slowing down on the highway and merging right. The soft top ripped from my hand cutting it open and smashed into the rear of the vehicle. When the soft top smashed into the rear of the vehicle several hinges broke, luckily one was still holding the soft top from completely falling off. This obviously poses a very large safety risk as the soft top could have flown into another vehicle disabling it or much worse; causing injury or death. The problem has been reported by others through online forums and the consensus is that the springs inside the clamps weaken over time leading to this issue. The soft top was not inspected by the dealer or anyone else, they did not care to investigate. The dealer only replaced the soft top after more than a month of waiting for parts to arrive. I have informed Jeep Cares and Jeep Customer Care over the phone; however, they did not seem interested in actually fixing the issue. Jeep instead directed me the dealership only to have the soft top replaced. I am now following up with NHTSA regarding this issue as the other avenue
While driving on the interstate, driver and passenger sun visors has fallen out of the sun visor mount blocking/impairing road visibility. It is extremely dangerous when this happens at highway speeds as an individual may lose control on their vehicle.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, they would smell a burning odor coming from the clutch. The local dealer was contacted but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated the vehicle caught on fire after being driven for a while. The contact exited the vehicle and the fire department extinguished the flames. No injuries were sustained. A fire report and police report were filed however no information was not available. The contact stated the vehicle was towed to another dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however when the vehicle was taken to a dealer, the contact was informed that the recall remedy was not available as of yet and did not perform an interim fix. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Manual Transmission started slipping/malfunctioning related to overheating. Jeep dealership stated it was driver issue, and nothing else was wrong with manual trasmission. Dealer charged me $3500 to repair/replace transmission @ 35000 miles. Dealer refusedto cover repairs and repeatedly stated there was no issues with factory manual transmissions. Filed claim under Manufacturers website and nothing has been done. note: manual transmission was replaced with OEM manual transmission, and no recall work was performed. Replacement transmission is now showing signs of slippage due ti overheating.
I have a problem with the windshields is so fragile and it’s not strong enough it keeps damaging so bad
Hit bump in road started violent wobble
Rear window leaks badly, when raining causes the interior to fog up making it difficult to see. Turning on A/C clears most the fog, but the rear window is still not clear enough to see what's behind or on the sides when making lane changes. This is not an isolated incident, Jeep repairs with the same process which leaks again after a few months. Need a permanent fix to this design flaw.
Regarding my 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Rear Window Cracks Around Rear Glass Frame. On [XXX], I took my Gladiator to Jeep dealership to repair leak in roof that wasn't covered under warranty. It was in the seal of the roof panels which they said many Gladiators are experiencing. Paid $402 out of pocket to have those seals repaired. At that service visit, the service attendant advised me that they are aware of a structural defeat causing cracks around the seal of the rear window. They said the whole rear window needs to be replaced at an out of pocket cost to the consumer of $1800. Jeep Warranty nor our extended warranty covers any of it. Also there is no recall for it! They told us to call Jeep to complain as they didn't think this was right. They were going to call as well. I called the number they gave me 1-877-426-5337 and the rep said it wasn't covered but gave me a case number and said he would pass on our complaint. Being a defect and a large window, it could most definitely be a safety issue and we feel Jeep should issue a recall. I believe many consumers out there are beginning to have this same issue. The Gladiator first came out in 2019 and issues with them are just coming to light. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
2020 Jeep Gladiator purchased new experienced violent shaking of the steering wheel and partial loss of control at highway speed on March 10, 2024 with the odometer at 27,500 miles. The shaking is commonly referred to as a "death wobble" incident. While driving at approximately 60mph on the interstate the vehicle became unstable on uneven pavement and began to shake so violently it nearly resulted in an accident and we had to immediately pull off the highway into the median. After a quick inspection no damage was found, the death wobble incident happened again the same day to a lesser degree and vehicle seems to be more unstable each use. Vehicle is available for inspection. The death wobble is so severe enough to cause an accident due to loss of steering control and suspension instability as well as injure the drivers hands and arms due to violent movement of the steering wheel. Dealer service is being scheduled, no further inspection has taken place by police or manufacturer. There were no indicators or warning lights prior to the incident.
The clutch has been under recall for over 1 year (399 days at this point) without any solution from the manufacturer. This is also the 3rd recall of the clutch assembly. When will this be fixed?????
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving, the clutch was slipping. While shifting gears, the clutch failed to engage. The backup camera was inoperable. Additionally, while exiting the express ramp, there was a burning odor detected. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, who informed him about the fees and replacement of the defective part. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
My clutch stopped working and was repaired under 19A recall. Now I am getting serv 4WD notices, my vehicle has gone limp and unknown fluid leaked the day after repaired. Vehicle has been in the shop over 5 times since clutch stopped working 26 Nov 2023. Consistently breaking down or getting service light failures.
The oil pump failed at 23,000 miles, then while traveling on [XXX] in New York, the engine failed at 48,000 miles. Fortunately we exited the freeway before a catastrophic failure could occur. The dealer was contacted and I was informed not to drive the vehicle, but to have it towed to the dealership. At the dealership they found the engine had a severe knock and informed me a complete new engine was needed. The engine was never taken apart for inspection, as they mentioned it would be at my expense, that of an additional $1800.00. The cost for engine replacement was $11916.16. If the engine seized on the freeway, a disaster could have occurred. Dealership stating the oil changes were over their recommendations. Four dealerships were contacted and all had different oil change intervals. Dealership stated the North East is a "severe service" area. The other three Chrysler dealerships never heard of this. Also the oil I ran was Amsoil full synthetic with the oil manufacturer recommending up to 12,000 miles oil change intervals, this dealer states 4,500 miles. Other dealers state "go by the book" of 7,500 to 10,000 miles, one states 6,000 miles, another states 6,500 mile intervals. A little long winded story, point being an engine failure traveling at highway speed could have caused severe, possibly life threatening results. My complaint is on the oil pump failure causing this problem, I base my case revolving around the oil pump failure causing engine oil starvation. The dealer
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving at various highway speeds, the front wheels would suddenly violently shake, vibrate, and wobble. The contact stated that during the failure, the vehicle became extremely unstable and difficult to control. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
While driving the 2020 Jeep Gladiator on highway I experienced extreme vibrations and shaking of the steering wheel (Commonly referred to as the "Death Wobble" in other online complaints/videos). This occurred on at least 8 occasions when traveling at highway speed (65mph to 70mph) after hitting a bump (ex. overpass bridge joint) or rough patch of road (ex. pothole). The steering wheel and whole front end of the vehicle wobble violently and it can only be corrected by reducing speed rapidly. This creates a safety issue as rapidly decelerating to get the vehicle under control on a highway puts my vehicle and the vehicles following me in danger. After reading other complaints, this appears to be an issue with Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator models going back several years.
Transmission will not shift all the time and gets hung up! After following a group this seems to be a problem with the gladiator automatic transmission. It will not shift into reverse and shifts hard from 3rd to 4th. This should be a recall due to so many people having issues and the only thing to fix it is to get a new transmission.
Local dealer has told me there is no known repair. My vehicle is in my driveway and has been undriveable for six months.
Steering is very loose in the vehicle, I have experienced "death wobble" twice while driving the vehicle. It was taken in for service, and the dealership replaced the steering stabilizer as they said it had failed. Since getting the vehicle back, the issue has not been fixed, in fact...the steering is even more loose now, it feels unsafe to drive.
In early January 2024 I was driving on the interstate at the posted speed limit of 70 mph and upon hitting what I would call a moderate bump on the roadway my steering wheel felt as though it was wobbling. Later in the month while driving at the same speed of at least 70 mph I would hit a bump and experience the steering wheel wobble, only it was getting worse. The steering wheel wobble could cause a safety issue in that the driver could lose control of proper steering thereby causing a vehicle crash with injury to myself, my wife, or even others on the roadway. I took my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland to the nearest Jeep Dealership to me and when I made inquiry to the technician that worked on my vehicle, he stated that he had taken my Jeep on the interstate and tried to recreate the wobble issue. In his words, the steering wheel "wobbled [XXX]. The remedy for the issue according to the technician was to replace the steering stabilizer/damper, which evidently is a known issue I found out and was covered under an extended 8 year warranty due to it being a known problem. Some problems with the clutch and the manufacturer doesn't have the parts to fix the recall issue
At only 65,000 miles and hitting all of my scheduled maintenance my transmission failed while driving causing me to get stuck in 5th gear and jerking me off the road.
So I purchased this vehicle in August of 2021. 6 months after purchasing I received another recall saying this is not safe to drive. I have only a 2 seater car to try and take my family places. It’s getting ridiculous I have paid 65000 for a car not safe to drive.

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 MPH, The front end of the vehicle was wobbling violently. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced the Death Wobble. The contact stated that he decelerated below 50 MPH and the vehicle operated as needed. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving above 55 MPH and when hitting a bump. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that unknown tires, the socket drag link outer, the steering damper, the front bar, the power steering gear and the arm Pitman needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond when shifting into reverse (R). The contact stated that the vehicle made an abnormal sound shortly after driving from a complete stop. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the transmission fluid was flushed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was towed twice due to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the transmission failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle drove over a patch in the roadway, and the front end began shaking uncontrollably. The failure mileage was approximately 48,500.
While driving the drivers side sun visor attachment failed and the visor fell down in my field of view on a 2 lane highway and would not stay up. The road was smooth and there was no jarring that caused it to fall down at that time. Looking at the design, it appears to be a plastic part that failed at a reduced area so just a poor design. Suspect it affects most of the Jeep Gladiators and wranglers.
I was driving on the highway going 80mph in 6th gear and my wife smelled something then the gears started grinding I put it in neutral as I was slowing down I was trying to get to the exit which was about 1/4 mile away so I put the truck in 4th and thats when the transmission exploded sending fire and transmission parts on the highway. I saw flames come out from under the vehicle and from the engine compartment, I told my wife to get out and we got everything that we could grab and within 5 minutes the Jeep was engulfed in flames

After only 19,000 miles driven the left and right side rear seat belts ripped. This is a 3rd car and not driven often. Both belts ripped from inside the recoil device. It is possible they broke previously and I only discovered it recently when putting my kids in the car.
I recently purchased my Jeep Gladiator and the steering is extremely loose and if feels out of control while driving. I contacted my local dealership and they refused to help and told me to call Chrysler corporate. I contacted Chrysler and they rejected my claim and refused to help. The dealership told me there was [XXX] that states the steering gear box was aluminum and was recommended to be replaced with a different style. This vehicle I just purchased has not be changed and is a safety issue due to loose steering and at high speeds the vehicle feels out of control and dangerous. The visor on the driver's side, while driving and moving from the front position to the side to cover the driver's side window, fell out and was hanging over the steering wheel while again driving. It was very startling while driving and could have led to an accident due to blocking the driver vision while dangling. As I was unable to pull over, I was able to push it back into the left side frame and lock it back into the right side visor holder all while still having to drive. I had the visor fixed under original warranty. Just last week, the same thing happened on the passenger side. Since I was out of initial warranty and although I have extended warranty, I searched the problem to see if there was an online solution. Apparently, it is a known issue with the Jeep and while I was picking up my vehicle from the second repair of the same type issue, another Jeep was being processed in for the same visor repair. The repair was completed at Community Motors, LLC, 500 Westin Oaks Dr., Hammond, La. 70403. Phone: 985-345-0401 Although nothing happened to me, the fact that the initial visor broke while in the process of driving on the interstate and startled me and impeded my vision, an accident could have occurred.
For the 2nd time, the latches that secure the soft top have failed to keep the soft top secured to the vehicle. Once in 2020 and now in 2023. MPH in 2023 was 65 and with 21000 miles on it.
My Jeep Gladiator has had the "death wobbles" three different times now. It has been "repaired" by Jeep only to have the issue return a month or two later. The 2nd repair was done more extensively than just a dampener replacement. There is a class action lawsuit on this issue. But the new repair does not solve the problem! My truck has never been modified. It is original.
While driving several warnings lights illuminate: traction control, ABS, air bad, service 4 wd, and brake. When this happens power steering is lost making it extremely hard to steer the car. The brakes are automatically engaged and occasionally the windshield wiper turns on. This causes a risk not only to myself and passengers but anyone driving near me as I can no longer steer with ease and the brakes lock up. My Gladiator has been at the Jeep dealer for 10 weeks while they try to solve the problem. They replaced the ABS module but that didn't solve the issue. I'm told that its electrical and whatever it is will harm several systems. My wife's 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL has the exact same issues. She has a very hard time controlling it due to no power steering.
My entire Electrical system failed, the engine wouldnt start , the warning flashers would not work, the vehicle wouldnt go into neutral to be pushed. So I was blocking an intersection for about 2 hrs waiting on a tow truck to tow it to the nearest dealership. The dealership was unable to reproduce the problem just wants to replace the end result of a 150 amp fuse block blown at $400 for a $50 part. I attached what was actually going on with the vehicle in PDF format I researched on Gladiator forum and Jeep Garage forums and found this is a problem for many jeep models with the dual battery system but nobody had an answer as to why it happens other than something shorted out.
The steering wanders. I constantly have to correct steering. It is a constant battle to keep it in its lane on the highway. It is very exhausting driving any distance on the highway. Luckily there has not been any crashes. Vehicle is almost 3 years old and only has 6462 miles on it because I don’t feel safe driving it. It has been to two different dealers and they say it’s fine.
The steering wheel begins to vibrate uncontrollably at highway speeds to the point where other drivers notice the shaking in the front end. to correct this problem i have to slow down well below highway speeds to get the steering under control. No the problem has not been reproduced by a dealer and now the vehicle is out of warranty. No indicators lights or warning signs appear when this issue arises.
I have had my vehicle in for the same problem at least 6 times, since August of 2022. The battery keeps dying. This is a know problem with this model. If it is not started for more than one day it will not start. The dealerships have replaced the batteries, main and auxiliary, multiple times, they have replaced the cable and wires, connectors and alternator. It still happens and no aftermarket parts have been installed related to the electrical system. I am missing two of the receipts to upload at the moment.
There are no warning signals and its been an issue since purchase. The steering has a lot of play and the truck will pull one way or the other. This causes extreme episodes of swerving even at speeds of 30. The front and rear were replaced with initial recall or TSB.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the clutch was slipping. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V116000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the failure was related to the recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,700. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The contact stated the clutch totally failed on 07/12/23. The contact stated there are no parts available to perform the recall.
The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Gladiator. The contact stated while driving 65 MPH, the vehicle drove over a pothole and the steering wheel started to shake violently and vehicle swayed from side to side before regaining control. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the front dampers. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. Upon further diagnosis, the dealer replaced the power steering gearbox. The failure reoccurred a third time, and the dealer replaced the front dampers and advised the contact that the failure had caused abnormal wear on tire tread and advised the contact that the tires be replaced. The failure reoccurred a fourth time however, the vehicle had not yet been diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened, pending an inspection by a Jeep specialist. The failure mileage was 34,934. The dealership service guy stated it was considered to be a death wobble and that Jeep has known about this issue for quite some time now.

Began driving vehicle on short 4.5 mile trip to the store with over 1/4 tank of fuel. Began to smell of fuel inside and noticed that when accelerating from a stop vehicle would hesitate and stutter. Halfway through trip noticed that vehicle had only 1/8 tank of fuel left and light came on. Pulled into parking lot at destination, shut vehicle off near empty and noticed trail of gasoline behind vehicle and pooling fuel below. Observed underneath that fuel had been spraying at a high pressure from the top of the fuel tank ( exact source not visible) all over the underside and all over the exhaust system, pooling in the skid plates and all cavities underneath. Vehicle would not restart for tow operator.

While going 65-70 mph my gladiator shakes violently if I hit nearly a crack in the road. My jeep is stocked. No special tires or rims. No lift kit. Today I was going 55-60 mph on the highway and I don’t recall even hitting a bump and my car started to shake the worse it has ever shaken before. This definitely should classify as a recall and they should do something about this. This a serious safety concern. I have 36k miles on it. This issue started 16 months ago, while my vehicle had 20k miles.
I was driving at about 5 MPH and about to go onto the Freeway on ramp in Riverside, California, when the sensor in my car went off and locked the brakes, causing the person behind me to rear-end me. This is not the first time this has happened with this vehicle. Luckily, I was not injured, however, this could have been a serious injury if I was traveling at a higher speed or under many other circumstances.
The car is wandering and there is no control over the steering. It feels as if the car is all over the place meaning I have to correct the steering constantly.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
