While driving intermittently, the brake pedal becomes hard and does not allow for eased braking. The car continues to roll forward and appears unable to stop. After pumping and applying hard pressure, finally, the brake pedal depresses fully and forces a hard and immediate stop. The entire car seems to shake during the event. This has occurred approximately 5-8 different times at different speeds, all below 25 mph, such as in a parking lot and while exiting the freeway. There have been no lights or warning indications before, during, or after. The entire car shakes violently when the brake pedal is gently pressed. The car almost continued into an intersection of heavy traffic before stopping. The first and only appointment has just been made with the dealer for inspection tomorrow, April 16, 2024. No maintenance has been performed since the original purchase, and no other incidents have occurred with the vehicle.

Major safety concern with vehicle stalling, having no power, not moving mainly in Snow Mode. The first month of purchase the car stalled, had no power, would not move in Comfort Mode. My Husband was driving and I thought it was a weird fluke or something. Then it happened driving up the hill to our house several times over the past year. That was annoying enough and THEN it snowed last week, roads were snow packed and icy. I was headed to work, had car in snow mode, attempted to pull out into traffic (thankfully with a whole lot of room between me and oncoming traffic!) and the car would NOT move. It literally stalled/lagged and would not go. I was almost read ended on a highway!!! This is not ok! I took the Palisade into the Dealership to look at/test and they "could not get it to replicate the issue". I also submitted a complaint to Hyundai Corporate, and after speaking with a Case Manager several times over the phone and via email - including sending them recorded video documentation of the issues, Hyundai determined that they would do nothing about this and would not even purchase the vehicle back. They could care less that a vehicle they produced is causing major safety issues for the public. I am beyond irate! We way overpaid for this car ("high demand" at the time of purchase) - $15,000 down, and because Hyundai does not care about their product, we just traded the vehicle in to get rid of it and had to pay an additional $7,000 out of pocket. There are literally NO WOR

This incident occured on 4-2-2024, while driving to the doctor with my newborn daughter. Our 2023 Hyundai Palisade Limited did not respond/accelerate/move when pressing on the gas pedal. The engine/transmission seemed to malfunction when trying to pull off from a green traffic light. There was loss of power and the palisade would not move. This vehicle was purchased brand new and it is a serious safety concern that the vehicle can malfunction when attempting to accelerate.

I have lost all confidence in this vehicle and my family, and I are scared to drive in (especially my 5 year old daughter). The mechanical failures that were experienced during these events were intense and life risking. During the first incident the vehicle brakes engaged while driving and caused the vehicle to stall in the middle of an intersection while turning left to enter highway, numerous vehicles were traveling in opposite direction and could have resulted in head on collision. No systems worked during this event, neither the horn nor the headlights worked to signal other vehicles of problem. Had to slam on the gas, which led to violent vehicle take off, that jolted my daughter around in her car seat and narrowly avoided collision with other vehicles. That was on [XXX], and similar events happened on [XXX] and [XXX]. Video and pictures of event were taken as they occurred on [XXX] event. Claim (Case#: XXX) was opened with Hyundai Consumer Affairs on [XXX]. All videos and pictures were shared on multiple occasions with Hyundai Team. Hyundai refused to repurchase the vehicle under Lemon Law provisions and cited that the issue didn’t start until the [XXX] event, which exceeds the 12-month statute. However, the issues started in Aug of 2023 and the dealer service records clearly document this. Hyundai insists that since they could not replicate the issue it didn’t start until Feb 1, when they were able to replicate. I don’t agree with this view and should not be penalized

Seat belt buckle of second row bucket seat on driver’s side is malfunctioning. Buckle clips in as expected, and then disengages on its own without user touching it. Seat belt unclicked with a passenger sitting in it, when driver applied brakes coming to a stop. There are no warning lights or error codes. The safety of anyone sitting in that seat is entirely compromised and we cannot use this seat until the buckle is replaced. We consider this a total failure of the safety device and needs to be investigated within other vehicles immediately. We are getting the belt buckle replaced at local Hyundai dealership.

I received a recall almost a year ago. Immediately contacted a Hyundai dealership who kept me on hold for an hour and said they couldn’t fix it or don’t know when someone would be able to. They got my number down and were supposed to call me and never did. I then took my car to the Hyundai dealership in Killeen to get the recall fixed and they said they didn’t have the part and couldn’t help me at this time. No one from either dealership has still contacted me!!

When traveling at a modest rate of speed, if I apply the brakes going over any slightly uneven terrain the ABS triggers randomly and makes braking really difficult. It takes longer to stop and much harder pressure. I have reported this issue to the dealer but per usual they "cannot duplicate ", however it happens very often and my dash cam has caught it.

The TPMS does not alert at the required safety standard of 25% or the recommended PSI. The recommended PSI for the 2023 Palisade is 35. 25% drop would be 26.25. Even driving on 26PSI can be potentially deadly depending on how worn your tires are. I have found my tires at 27-28 PSI at least 3 times since purchasing the vehicle with no alert. The dealership tested what PSI sets off the TPMS warning light to make sure it does trigger a warning, and it was 25 PSI. They said they tested a few other palisades they had on lot currently and all were triggered at 25 PSI. This is unacceptable! Driving a heavier SUV, they should be required to trigger a warning at 5 PSI dip to avoid excessive low-pressure tire wear and dangerous driving conditions. These are family vehicles carrying children.

Since brand new the TPMS has not alerted to low tire pressure. 3 times I have caught the tires at 27.5PSI without a warning light. Between that and a suspension problem that causes the car to pull to the right even after 2 all-wheel alignments, my tires have around 6-8/32 tread left after 11,000 miles and 1.5 years.

This past weekend my family and I were driving in wet snowy weather in Colorado. We had the wipers set to the "Auto" position and everything seemed to be working. While driving I stepped on the brake and snow from the top of the vehicle slid down onto the windshield. All of a sudden the wipers stopped working. They were stuck halfway on the windshield. I tried to turn them off and on but nothing worked. Luckily I was able to safely pull off the side of the road. I cleared the snow from the windshield and then the wipers worked again. About an hour later I was driving on the freeway in snowy weather and the same thing happened again. The wipers suddenly stopped working. However, this time I was in heavy traffic and there was no safe place to pull off the interstate. I was able to look through a small area on top of the windshield and drove about another mile and half before I could find an exit to pull over. I cleaned the snow from the windshield but the wipers still did not work. I then opened the hood of the vehicle and continued to clear snow from below the windshield wiper arms. Finally the wipers began to work again. This is a HUGE safety issue. I could have easily been in an accident because of not being able to see forward. And if I were to stop suddenly, someone could have easily ran into the rear of our vehicle. The next business day I contacted my local dealership and informed him of the incident. I also informed him that there was a previous recall on the windshield

At approximately 645 this morning my vehicle began hesitating and jerking as I pulled away from a stoplight. Approaching cars from behind nearly impaled me as my vehicle went from 10 mph to 20mh, then quickly decelerated to 10mph without engaging the brake. I turned my hazard lights on and slowly pulled into the closest neighborhood. There, I parked the vehicle, turned off the engine, and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle’s engine sputtered upon restart, the check, engine light came on and a notification (pictured) appeared on the infotainment screen. At 7 AM I called my closest Hyundai dealership to schedule an appointment to address the notification for the check engine, the open recall and routine maintenance. The dealer stated the issue might be the transmission. The powertrain warranty does not cover rental, however they will issue partial reimbursement after rental period. Also, directed to call regarding the warranty while at dealer on Tuesday.

When you ride in second row it hurts your eyes because they are so hazy especially on a sunny day everything looks blurry. When put in snow mode, there is a loss of power or failure for the car to accelerate at all. You can put the accelerator to the floor, and the car will not move forward. You basically can not drive in traffic. I had to pull over multiple times to the shoulder, because the car would not accelerate at all. I could not even get to the shoulder, because the car would not drive. Almost caused multiple accidents as the car stops without warning. It happens without any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms. It is not because the car is in snow and trying to not spin tires or get stuck. You can try to very gently accelerate and it still won't go. You can push harder on the gas, still won't go. It is like it stalls but the car is still running. Just all of a sudden will not accelerate. I took a video of it occuring and gave that to the dealership. I took the car to the dealership as it was new, and they could not "replicate the problem." We no longer used the snow mode after that incident. Now, approximately a year later, we had a winter storm, so attempted to use the snow mode and it happened again this week. Attempting to turn into oncoming traffic and the car stalled out, almost causing a collision. I have read online this is happening to multiple people and other people have contacted NHTSA. The dealerships can't "replicate" the issue, so no one is getting help. This is a serious safety issue that will cause a collision or worse, if it has not already. A recall and safety upda

HYUNDAI PALISADE 2023 ENGINE STALLING / WON'T ACCELERATE IN SNOW/ICY ROADS. I have now experienced this engine stalling issue several time on my Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy 2023. It has only happened in "snow mode" so far. The car basically dies, no acceleration, no matter how hard you accelerate or floor it. I called the dealership named "Great Lakes Hyundai" in Dublin, Ohio and they said they basically can't do anything since this issue is intermittent. I will be filling a complaint with NHTSA and other state and regulatory agencies. Hyundai needs to fix this issue before people start dying on the snowy/icy roads. These are expensive cars and should not be dying on the roads like this, plus this is a very dangerous situation where the car just dies and does not respond to acceleration. No warning lights of any kind display on the dashboard. You put car in "ECO Mode", it starts driving. The car never lose traction when this issue occurs. Doing some research online, seems like lots of other Hyundai palisade and kia telluride owners are experiencing this issue and Hyundai/kia are not doing anything to remedy this issue. 2023 palisade is stalling out. Happened three times in the last six months, I’m slowly driving around 20mph and then it decides it doesn’t want to accelerate. The car is still running, but the engine won’t rev or move, no rpm increase with pumping the pedal, the engine is silent, and I just hang out at 20 mph (pedal to the floor and all). It has moments of movement (gets up a few more mph) then stops accelerating again. Lasts for about 30 seconds then is back to normal. I’ve looking through the other post about people’s vehicles shutting off, but mine isn’t turning off completely, just freezing up.

I was operating the vehicle in “snow” mode. I had made a stop and attempted to turn onto the highway. The vehicle started off ok it seemed for conditions but when I went to accelerate the vehicle had no power despite pushing all the way down on the peddle. The vehicle continued to slow as I was trying to get pulled over and figure out what was going on. We maybe made it 50 yards max before the car was at almost a full stop. Suddenly the acceleration kicked back in and we were able to go. The car acted like the bumper cars at the fair where you can’t go at all and then suddenly the power kicks in. Luckily there was no traffic coming behind me otherwise we could have been rear ended at highway speeds. VERY unsafe condition and someone could easily be injured or killed because of this if they were to get hit. Had I been turning left I might not have even made it across the road

Recalls not being done! I am writing to complain about the inadequate and unsatisfactory service I received from the Temecula Hyundai service department on several occasions. The last one crossed the line and is a cause of concern; a huge safety and liability issue. On July 20, 2023 I brought my vehicle in for the driver wiper recall. I was told it was done and it reflected on my profile. After repeated incidents at this location I decided to get my vehicle serviced at a different location. On November 16, 2023, I dropped my vehicle off for the electric oil pump recall where they also suggested to address the windshield wiper. I told them that had been taken care of at the Temecula dealership but they proceeded to show me that while they logged the work in the system, the job was never completed; my palisade still has the old wiper part that was to be replaced. I wonder if this is standard practice at the Temecula shop? That’s extremely concerning as it poses a safety risk if recalls aren’t being properly addressed. I find what happened to be unacceptable and a huge safety and liability concern. I request from you to address this issue the best way possible. I hope that you will be able to find a satisfactory solution very fast.

This happened several times: When I drive my 2023 Palisade with Speed Limit Assist engaged, the computer frequently out of the blue detects 25 or 30-mile speed limited signs that are not there and abruptly changes the speed down to 25 or 30 miles per hour. This has nearly caused two accidents as I was driving with 60 miles per hour and the Palisade suddenly slowed down to 30 miles per hour and drivers were only narrowly able to avoid hitting the rear of my car. This is dangerous and needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed. I will report this one NHTSA and Consumer Reports. Please get back with me as soon as possible. My 2023 Hyundai Palisade has experienced loss of braking/power braking at least three times (two of which almost resulted in a collision). It is not within recall 23V415000. After the first failure, the service center did the recommended repairs (replace faulty brake booster) of that recall. The brakes failed again shortly after. The service center also confirmed they felt the brakes go soft when they were repairing it a second time. This time they replaced the brake master cylinder assembly, pin assembly, etc. The brakes failed another time after this. We took it back to the dealership, where it has been since. We have lost all faith in the brakes of this car, and this presents a major safety concern to Palisade drivers and those on the road.

We heard a very loud gunshot noise on 2023-10-20 while traveling on the I40 during a weekend road trip. We immediately got off the upcoming exit to inspect the tires for a blowout and other vehicle issues, however no issues were seen. No 18 wheelers or construction vehicles were near us at the time of the event. Later on we kept hearing a rattling sound that was baffling. The shattered moonroof was discovered when the shade was slightly cracked when inspecting the culprit of the rattling noise. I immediately closed the cracked moonroof shade and checked the top of the vehicle to discover a huge hole in the moonroof. Thankfully the sunshade protected us from the shattered glass and no one was hurt. The vehicle was taken to the dealership upon returning home on 2023-10-23 for an inspection and they observed it appeared that the moonroof blew out (up position). The dealership will be covering the replacement of the moonroof under warranty.

This is the third occurrence since we bought the car new in August of '23. The car will lock all of its doors and we won't be able to get inside. Once we manage to get inside the dash will not display. We can not turn anything on except for the dome lights (which indicate the battery has power, thus not the problem). We have tried jump starting the car on our own with no luck. The first trip to the repair shop, the technician said it was a "multi-fuse" that needed replaced. The second time (after the exact same symptoms and failed home jump start attempts) the technician said that wasn't the case and that they didn't know what caused it. And that we would need to wait for it to happen again and hopefully they could catch it if something did happen.. Well, it happened again. Exact same symptoms. We have young children in car seats and we live in a cold climate. If it is 0 degrees out and it happened again and they were in the car it would be a terrible, fatal thing! We buy new to avoid problems and things like this.
