Hyundai has 2023 and 2024 palisades recalled under 23V526. I have yet to be notified and am unable to get this recall fixed. My car is being destroyed by the sun because I refuse to park it in the garage. This car has been in the shop more than out and I'm sick of it.
2023 Hyundai Palisade complaints

ABS system engages on graveled inclines and potholes, overly sensitive. Cannot stop in time and had times where almost hit car in front. Took to dealership and they state no issues. ABS should not be this sensitive where it engages in normal everyday driving.
A few weeks ago, I made an appointment to address the recent safety recall concerning the transmission electric oil pump (campaign 246 / NHTSA recall number 23V-526.) For added clarity – the dealer identified the vehicle, saw that it was part of the recall and scheduled me for an appointment to correct this important safety matter. Today I took the day off from work and this morning I showed up for my appointment 30 minutes early. I surrendered my vehicle and sat at the waiting area. After spending over two hours at the service center, I was informed that they do not have the part(s) needed to complete this recall and that they have only today ordered it. Moreover, in talking to the advisor, he seemed perplexed at my disappointment, claiming that this is their standard operating procedure. Again, I would like to highlight the fact that I lost a day of work. I would now lose an additional day of work once the part(s) is/are in. Per Hyundai’s recall language, this is a serious and somewhat dangerous matter. Lastly, I would think that if the part is not in stock, the service center should have contacted me in advance to delay the appointment. Even if that was not done, it should not take over two hours to discover that the part is missing – a few seconds, yes. Hours NO. I am sorry for the tone – however, I am beyond disappointed.
On three separate occasions while driving the car has shut off while driving. The car and dashboard completely shut off, as well as the radio. This is while driving! The car was in drive and then just shut off with no warning or indication. I've taken the car to be seen by a Hyundai Mechanic and the car had a starter replacement. Yet, the issue has continued. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk as the car cuts off mid-traffic. I am no longer able to brake or accelerate. The check-ESC message comes up when attempting to restart, but there is no warning or indication that comes on before the vehicle completely shuts down. I feel extremely unsafe. The dealership says it is hard to see codes because this happens mid-drive. Multiple Hyundai Owners, specifically 2023 Palisade Model owners have posted and reported this issue to corporate.

I have recently received a recall notice from Hyundai USA, stating that my 2023 Hyundai Palisade needs an immediate fix for transmission electric oil pump to avoid potential fire risk. It suggested that I should immediately reach out to the nearest dealer for a part replacement. However, I searched several dealer locations in WA and they do not have any availability within the next 60 days. The closest date I can see now available is at Dec. 11th., which is 3 months away. This is causing long-lasting concerns.
I RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. AND IT SAID TO PARK MY CAR UNTIL I CAN GET IT SEEN ABOUT. I HAVE AN APPT UNTIL OCT 2. WILL MY VEHICLE BE SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THEN?

While in reverse the car is not alerting us to cars or people approaching or objects directly in kur path.I actually hit small fire hydrant that I could not see while backing up. I'm worried because I have young children and a busy street at time I would be devastated if I accidentally hit a person especially a child.

My 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD engages the anti-lock braking system when I go over small bumps sometimes. It has happened at least twice in the last 24 hours and almost caused an accident because it resulted in a longer than expected braking time and distance. I have scheduled an appointment, but am unable to be seen for another two weeks so the dealer has not inspected it yet. There are no warnings, only shaking from the ABS and clearly reduced braking power.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact smelled an abnormal odor. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the vehicle was inspected; however, no failure was found. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The contact referred the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V526000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
While driving my two young daughters to school this morning I heard a loud bang which resembled to that of a gunshot as I was driving on my own on the freeway at about 60 mph. I looked around and saw no nearby accidents or even vehicles within a 5 mile radius. Shortly after I could hear a lot of wind noise inside my vehicle, sure enough my panoramic sunroof imploded. This poses a huge safety concern as it had no impact and was of no fault my own. I hate to think about what would’ve happened had the door to the sunroof been open while it imploded, my children would have been greatly injured.
My wife was merging on a freeway overpass and slammed her foot into the gas peddle for a few seconds to accelerate for the merging. Her speed of travel was around 75MPH when she put her foot into it. After reaching around 82MPH she released the gas peddle for the merger. The auto's RMP shot up to around 5K and maintained the high rpm for around 5-6 sec after she released the peddle. During these few seconds the car maintained the high rate of speed and the motor was very loud. My wife pumped the gas peddle twice in rapid succession and the RPM's the wend back down and the car returned to its normal operation. Questions from above: The component was the engine: A loud revving sound and indicated by the tac hitting 5K RPM after the the gas petal was released. This was the first indecent and if repeated, we will file another report. It has not been reported to or confirmed by any dealer or independent service center. The component has not been inspected. Due to this being the first occurrence the exact competent causing the issue would be unknown. There were not warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior or post issue.
1. A. Dashboard digital display fades to black. Inability to see speed, meters, gauges, and malfunction graphics on the instrument cluster display. B. When phone charging through console USB port, the entire center console heats up excessively and smells like burning plastic; wiring. Stopped using center USB port to eliminate issue. C. When car put into Drive or Reverse from Park, loud clunking lurch occurs. When stopped at light and the stop idle engaged, the car lurches and makes loud clunking noise. Transmission seems to shift erratically. Turn the stop idle function off every time to avoid issue. 2. A. Dash display going black on highway is a huge safety risk not being able to see any important meters; gauges; warning graphics. The last time it occurred on the freeway going through Camp Pendleton and was frightening. It did come back on once I exited freeway. B. The console heating up was unsafe since it burned my hands to the touch. The sides and underneath area were all excessively heated and the burnt smell was an indication something electrically was malfunctioning. I stopped using the USB port on the console however, that does not eliminate the fact of some sort of electronic defect. C. There is something malfunctioning with the transmission shifting erratically and the stop idle defect. 3. Auto Nation Carlsbad Hyundai service could not duplicate issues driving locally or find any codes showing malfunctions. There is a recall that does not have a remedy that may be a
No fix available, no recall from Hyundai. A Chance of fire should give rise to attention given this problem. Lack of attention by Hyundai is terrible and the possibility of fire to vehicle and structures is unacceptable.
2nd row driver and passenger windows are hazy with acoustic glass
First issue was engine misfire and loss of power while on the highway in the middle of no where. Car eventually died and was restarted. It happened twice at around 1700 miles on the odometer. Second issue is when the rear panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded. I’m very thankful my daughter was not in the rear seat, as this happened while driving normal speeds. Sounded like gun shot. The sunroof spontaneously combusting seems to be a problem dating back to 2018 according to other reports online. Mine is a 2023.
At 40 mph+, the inside of the vehicle sounds like you are in a wind tunnel. The noise is so excessive that it gives you a headache at speeds over 50 mph. The excessive wind noise is coming from the driver’s side.
Passenger door showing it is open at all times, makes an alert noise while driving. Also can not lock doors because of issue. Can not lock door even when parked and vehicle is off. Brand new car with 1600 miles. And I get door open alerts after I turn the car off
On four separate occasions, the forward collision assist turned on when a car in front of my car has moved over into a turning lane and they slow down. The car aggressively brakes, and on two occasions has come to a complete stop in the middle of the road, not allowing me to move the car until the warning goes away. I was nearly rear ended on two occasions because of the cars sudden aggressive braking. I called the Dealer service number department and they told me they wouldn’t be able to diagnose the issue without trying to reproduce the issue which neither they nor I felt comfortable with. With the exception of the warning coming on during the event, there are no other warnings visible and the car returns to normal once it figures out there was no collision.

This car seat has never been in an accident and the Crotch buckle has a crack in it. It also unlatches by itself. Warranty has expired so I don’t know what to do
I purchased my Hyndai Palisade on 06/14/2023 from Temecula Hyundai. We had the car for a week and then the car sat for three days. I went to get in it and found the battery was completely drained. Jump started the car and drove for two days. Going to leave my house and the battery was again drained. Took the car to the dealership and they said I had a bad battery. They replaced it. Took the car home. The following week we had the same issue, drained battery. Took the car back to the dealership. They had the car for two weeks and said a junction box was bad and causing a parasitic drain. They replaced the junction box and we got the car back. Drove the car for a week and went to Laughlin. The car was parked for two days and the car would not start. Completely drained battery. We got the car jump started and drove if for a bit. Parked it and the next morning the battery was again dead. Taking the car back to the dealership again for the third time for the same problem. We believe the car has an electrical defect somewhere causing this. The dealership has had the car more than we have and I have no confidence they will find the problem.
Car only has 1400 miles on it and is brand new. The engine for the car wont start when utilizing the push button within the car or app. The engine will only start by using the key fob. Initially we thought it was the battery, but after being able to turn the car on from the key fob, it was confirmed it was not the battery. Additionally, the car will randomly shut off when it is on. You can be driving the car and it will just shut off. The dealer service group upon initial drop off said they had never seen this before, but then they said it might relate to the push button and push transmission gears on the car, as they had seen this before on some of the newer hyundai models, just never the Palisade. They made it sound like the technology that is behind the push transmission and push button start is the same, and that is where the problem lies.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Amit- when i press gas pedal at initial pickup the car bumps hard 3-4 times then proceeds fine once it picks up speed. This happens after every few days and then stops for few days and again comes up. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Chances of rear collision as car bumps and does not pickup speed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? It was not reproducible when i visited dealer but its added in notes of service. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning messages or lights on dash.
Oil leakage after 1 week oil change. Per dealer, oil filter housing broke and leaking. This was first oil change on 5335 miles. Search on internet, found to have more 2022-2023 hyundai Palisade with similar problem. Seriously concern and afraid of over heating engine with no oil ultimately resulting in fire.
I was going 5 mph, hit a small bump in road and the abs brakes kicked in and the car wouldn’t. I almost hit the car in front of me. Emergency system kicked in and luckily stopped the vehicle.
Received this message “A possible condition with your Engine Control System Ha’s been detected. A full system check is recommended to be done when convenient. Please contact your local dealership to schedule an appointment.” at only 2,153 miles on my new 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy.
Drivers side rear shock/suspension has clunking noise.
Rear passenger door windows are hazy despite cleaning with multiple products and obscure visibility.
I was waiting at a stop light when the light turned green. I accelerated and the truck sputtered and cut off. The truck started to sound off with alarms and give a warning on the dash for me to put it in S or N. When doing such and attempting to restart the vechicle it continued to cut off and sound off with alerts. This happened a out 9 times in a row. I was sitting on a busy 6 lane roadway where vechicles go well above the speed limit. I have 4 children under the age of 7 including a 6mo old who were very scared. This is DANGEROUS and I am reading on Hyundai owners forums that this issue is not uncommon at all and Hyundai is well aware of the issue. We could have easily been seriously hurt or killed! I just purchased the vechicle and have only 2,3xx miles on it. It's a 2023 Hyundai Palasade Calligraphy AWD white exterior. I've also noticed that the safety sensors seem to do more hard than good. I've had it happen about 5 times now that a car was approaching behind my vechicle and my vechicle would violently come to a abrupt stop, jerk the entire vechicle (scaring everyone in the truck) and it will freeze up not letting me drive. This does a lot more harm than good and again is dangerous. There were times that I needed to drive to get away from the situation and my truck froze up because it thought a vechicle was to close.
Rear door windows are hazy, foggy and are a safety issue in both daytime and evening due to poor visibility. Hyundai issued a TSB #23-BD-001H. I am requesting windows be replaced and Hyundai has rejected my request. My case number with Hyundai is #21440910 Thanks
I was just turning right from a stoplight into a store parking lot when I lost power steering & my brakes were ‘difficult’ to push down. I barely got it out of the way of traffic and I turned the car off, got out, opened and closed my door, and got back in and it started back up and drove to the parking spot like nothing had happened. Sensors reset to 0. It happened again 2 stops away while in a drive through. I did the same thing and it started back up ok. It would do this every 2-3 days for 2 weeks. Finally it did it one day, 5-6 times. The day I called the dealership & said that I was afraid my 2023 Palisade was going to literally get me killed on the highway was when the manager was able to get me a loaner vehicle to drive. It’s been in the dealership for over a week. I saw the recall about the loss of power brake assist online and thought this may pertain to my Palisade.
Both LR and RR door windows are Smoky, Foggy, Hazy at all times but when exposed to direct sunlight are a safety hazard and need to be replaced. Hyundai provided me with a TSB #23-BD-001H. It states the FMVSS are meet. I strongly disagree with this TSB. The TSB also stated on CERTAIN 2023 MY Palisades. My question is if it meets or exceeds FMVSS then why isn’t that why on all 2023 Palisades not just CERTAIN ones??
The rear passenger windows have a cloudy / hazy look to them, making it difficult to see out at certain times. This is a known defect on the 2023 Palisade models. This defect is between the glass panels. It is not a film tint.
Brakes failed. Brake pedal went to floor unable to stop. First the dealership said it was the ABS sensor failed. after they replaced the abs sensor they then determined the master brake cylinder piston ruptured causing the fault in the ABS . The repair has been made and brakes a working fine now.. However this failure could of resulted in q catastrophic accident The contact stated that repairs were made on the vehicle.
Rear door windows, not clear, gray, especially in sunlight and causes visibility and safety issues, Hyundai at this point is not planning on doing anything to resolve this issue. I picked up the vehicle on an overcast day and rain. Didn’t notice this issue or I would not have purchased it.
Brand new 2023 Palisade with rear windows hazy, causing poor visibility.
The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V180000 (Visibility/Wiper) however, the contact stated that while it was raining, the windshield wipers were intermittently activated, and the front driver’s side wiper started striking the metal frame and seized. No warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled; however, the contact stated that after the vehicle was taken to the dealer, the contact was informed that parts were not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 4,200. Parts distribution disconnect.
Our sunroof exploded today (May 8, 2023) with no warning while sitting at a red light. Nothing hit the glass. Luckily the shade was pulled closed so no glass fell on us. It was a loud explosion. The car was taken to the dealer, Jenkins Hyundai in Leesburg FL.
My sensors have been having issues since the day I bought my car march 5 2023. It would be intermittent, and became constant. The error reads, "check parking distance warning system" as well as "ultrasonic sensor error or blockage" and my sensors are clean. Nothing blocking them whatsoever. It's constant. I went to my dealership for them to say someone may have hit my car while I was I. The grocery store. Shouldn't there be some serious damage? I don't lcoe the lying. And I don't love how they tried to get me to pay because me sensors wouldn't even calibrate. They said anything could knock them out of wack because hyundai sensors are super sensitive. Well then they need tk be less sensitive. My car is garage kept, barley leaves the house currently has only 2000 miles after having the car for 2 months now.
Forward sunroof exploded OUT without any impact. Wife driving car on state highway which caused panic, also glass landed in kids carseats. Problem has not been reproduced or looked at by dealer, trying to make appointment to have it inspected. No inspection at this point. No warning lamps or other indications that the sunroof was going to fail.
After a snow fall wiper worked one time and then stopped working with just a little snow on window. Had to stop the vehicle turn it off and turn it back on to get wipers to work.
Driver activated defrost in the rain. Exterior temperature was about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Crack occured on the windshield. No impact by road debris. It was an edge crack. Occured due to improper installation of the windshield, which seems to be a common issue in the Palisade of all years.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
