Forward collision assist keeps turning off, saying the front camera needs to be cleaned. Loud cracking/clicking/popping noises from front suspension making low speed turns (left and right). Sounds like the wheels want to fall off. I got this Prologue with 4 miles on it, started making those noises at less than 3K. It sounds so bad! Honda seems to be waiting until someone is seriously injured to fix this issue.
2024 Honda Prologue complaints

At low speeds, when I turn my steering wheel more than 45° left or right, I hear a loud clicking sound as if the steering is failing
The lane keep assist has never worked. It doesn't not keep you in the lane, it just chimes when you drift out of it. The bigger issue is the axles. I only owned the car for 1 month when the axles started loudly clicking with every turn. Honda is claiming this is just a cosmetic defect and it does not affect safety, but I don't believe that for a second. Clicking axles are NOT normal, and could only indicate signs of deterioration. Not only that, but myself and anyone else with this issue can feel that the drivability is affected. Turns and propulsion are slower as time goes on and the clicking gets louder. Honda knowingly continues to sell these cars for up to $60,000 and no longer offers a remedy for the faulty axles. They now plan to discontinue the vehicle and offer no further support for it, which is completely unnaceptable. This safety defect must be remedied as soon as possible. We should not wait until someone is dead.
The microphone for hands-free calling in the vehicle is not installed properly. It is well known that at the factory where they made these Prologues, they accidentally left the plastic on the microphone, and also did not click it into its place. The microphone is currently floating somewhere in my ceiling, sealed in a plastic wrapper. Whenever I try to use hands-free calling, nobody can ever hear me, so I have to take my hands off the wheel and eyes off the road, pick up my phone, switch it to speaker, and then I will be able to talk to people. This is a major safety concern caused by human error at the factory. It defeats the purpose of hands-free calling, increases the risk of a crash, and forces people to break the hands-free law in most states. Because it is not easy to remove panels and access the microphone floating in the ceiling, this should be recalled.
Cv axles on the car has been clicking when turning and driving forward and back, they have been replaced once on once side. I’ve taken the car to the dealer ship 4 times Monday may 4 2026 was the last time I took it. It’s currently there as I’m typing this, the driver axle also locked in my once when Turing in a parking lot making loud pops. The last 3 times dealer ship said they can’t do nothing.
The driver's side CV axle has developing a clunking noise.
When turning, accelerating and/or decelerating I hear a clicking sound coming from the rear of my car. My initial determination is the infamous cv joint/axle clicking sound. I have a service scheduled with dealer in a couple of days (5/6/26) to review. I did not receive any error or warning messages. The problem started yesterday (5/3/26).
CV joint failure/noise observed during low-speed turns. Clicking/popping sound from front axle area. Issue appears to worsen over time and may impact drivability and safety.
Honda (really GM) has a problem with the CV joints on the Honda Prologue. It makes a clicking noise on sharp turns at low speeds. I also randomly get forward collision system disabled while driving, this is concerning as it affects the overall safety of driving this car.
CV joints make a knocking sound when turning - this is a well-known issue lacking an official recall from GM/Honda to repair
Shortly after purchase, I observed damaged/torn underhood insulation and reported the condition to the selling dealership, with concern that the vehicle should be inspected for related issues. Prior to a crash incident, I experienced concerns involving braking-related behavior and advanced driver assistance features, including lane assist and object/collision warning functions. During the crash, while reacting to a roadway hazard, the vehicle swerved and struck a pole, and I did not experience warning or intervention from driver assistance features as expected. Following the incident, a diagnostic pre-scan identified multiple faults involving brake control, radar sensors, image processing, and communication systems. Since the incident, similar concerns have continued, including recurring braking/driver assistance concerns, and the issues remain unresolved. I am submitting this complaint due to concern that braking and advanced driver assistance systems may not have functioned as intended and may present an ongoing safety risk.
I hear a sharp clicking noise when I make turns, indicating an issue with the CV joint. The car had this issue when I leased it brand new. I didn’t think much of the sound because I had previously had a routine maintenance checkup at Honda and they never mentioned any issues. Car had less than 15k miles on it. Upon researching, I realized that this is a potentially major issue with the vehicle, and could cause harm on the road in the even the front axle fails.
After the latest recall update for the screens going blank. My infotainment screen now reboots every time I get in the car about a minute after I drive away using Android Auto.
When I turn my car right, about 1 out of every 5-10 times, the suspension makes a pinging sound. After doing some research, I found that the pinging is caused by faulty CV joints.
My 2024 Honda Prologue is experiencing ongoing drivetrain issues that include noise, vibration, clunking, and a binding sensation. These symptoms occur during turning, accelerating, and at low speeds. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, and they inspected it, but they told me there is no solution available yet and advised me to wait. The dealer has not replaced any parts, and the issue continues. At this time, I have not experienced loss of control or steering failure, but the symptoms are persistent and concerning. Based on widespread reports from other Prologue owners, this appears to be a developing pattern that may indicate a defect in the axle, driveshaft, CV joint, or related front‑end components. I am reporting this so NHTSA is aware of the issue and can investigate.
While taking right or left turns after being at a stop, there is a clicking noise, caused by the CV joint. We have only had the vehicle one week and noticed it instantly.
Cv axel clicking as I turn either direction
VEHICLE LEFT FRONT AXLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD CLICKING NOISE WHEN TURNING. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS IT HAS TURNED INTO A CRACKING NOISE, I NOTICED GREASE LEAKING FROM THE OUTER AXLE BOOT. VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS 24K MILES. VEHICLE FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THE FRONT AXLE APPEARS TO BE FAILING AND COULD CAUSE A CRASH AT HIGH HIGHWAY SPEEDS. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT PENSKE ONTARIO HONDA. SERVICE DEPARTMENT CONTACTED ME AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NO FIX AT THIS POINT AND HONDA IS WORKING ON IT. I SHOWED THEM A PICK OF THE AXLE GREASE LEAKING AROUND THE INSIDE OF THE RIM. SO FAR HONDA WILL NOT REPLACE THE LEAKING AXLE WHICH APPEARS TO BE A MAJOR SAFTEY ISSUE...
On 04/15/2026, at approximately 13,130 miles, my 2024 Honda Prologue began making a loud, repetitive clicking, popping, and clunking noise from the front axle area. This mechanical noise is highly pronounced when turning sharply at low speeds, such as pulling out of a parking space or turning at an intersection. I took the vehicle to Delta Honda in Antioch, CA on 04/16/2026. They acknowledged the noise but refused to replace the part, citing Honda's guidance that this issue does not impact normal driving. I am filing this complaint because this is a severe safety defect. The CV joint is a critical drivetrain component, and these symptoms are classic indicators of premature mechanical failure. I am highly concerned that the CV axle could fail catastrophically while driving at higher speeds or in traffic. A structural failure of this component could result in a sudden loss of motive power, wheel lock-up, or a total loss of steering control, putting myself, my passengers, and other motorists at imminent risk of a crash. Honda's failure to provide a permanent, safe remedy for this widespread and known defect is unacceptable.
Car wobbles back and forth uncontrollably while driving, and also makes clicking noises while driving.
RE: Unrepaired Recalls associated with this VIN [XXX] Feb 26,2026 Manufacturer Recall NumberXNK NHTSA Recall Number26V-112 My name is [XXX] , I lease a 2024 Honda Prologue. I received a recall and took my car to Crown Honda in St Petersburg, Fl to have it done. I’ve been there 4 times to have it done and it failed 3 of the 4 times. The 4th time, they only did a partial update and told me it was complete and are telling me if I want more it’s going to cost me. I discovered they did not perform the Recall update. The paperwork they gave me shows it has to be a USB update. I know from my experience and my background of decades in the computer technology business, that they have minimal experience in that field. I called Honda corporate and they told me it was my problem and to go to another dealer. I’m hoping you may be able to help me out and contact them to get my updates performed. My recall shows it is a serious matter. As of this date and your records confirm, the recall is still incomplete. I took delivery of my new 2024 Honda Prologue in 2024. After driving approximately 2,000 miles, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the front axle area, especially during low-speed turns and parking maneuvers. I first brought the vehicle to AutoNation Honda in Costa Mesa, California, the dealership where I purchased it. They inspected the vehicle and reported finding no issue, so no repairs were performed. As the noise continued and worsened over the following months, I took the vehicle to Jerry Seiner Honda in San Juan Capistrano, California. Their service department diagnosed the clicking noise as originating from both front axles. Both front axles were replaced on October 28, 2025, which initially resolved the problem. However, the identical clicking noise has now returned. As of April 18, 2026, the condition is present again and requires further repair. THIS CONDITION IS NOT SAFE. The vehicle is still under lease with 19 payments remaining. This appears to be a recurring issue with the 2024 Honda Prologue. See NHTSA complaint ID XXX (and related complaints) for numerous similar reports of front axle / CV joint clicking noises on this model. Axel or CV joints make loud clicking noise when turning
Subject: Safety Complaint – 2024 Honda Prologue – Clicking Noise When Turning (Possible CV Axle Defect) I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2024 Honda Prologue Touring due to a persistent clicking noise when turning, which appears to be related to the front axle or CV joint. Vehicle Information: Year: 2024 Make: Honda Model: Prologue Touring Mileage:10300 VIN: [XXX] Description of Issue: The vehicle produces a noticeable clicking/popping noise when turning left or right, especially at low speeds such as in parking lots or during tight turns. The noise is consistent and reproducible. The issue appears to originate from the front axle/drivetrain area and raises concern about potential failure of a critical drivetrain component. Safety Concern: This defect may indicate premature wear or failure of the CV joint or axle assembly. A failure of this component while driving could result in loss of power to the wheels and create a dangerous driving condition, increasing the risk of an accident. Dealer Response: I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership. The dealer acknowledged the issue but stated that no repair or fix is currently available and advised me to contact Honda directly. The issue remains unresolved. Additional Notes: Based on my research, multiple other owners are experiencing similar issues with the same vehicle, suggesting this may be a widespread defect rather than an isolated incident. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue as a po
There is a clicking sound coming from what I’m told is the cv joint/axel. It is a loud and more noticeably louder and especially troubling when reversing. Purchased this vehicle less than 3months ago with only 12,000 miles on it.
On Feb 7th, notice a Knocking/Clicking noise coming from right wheel when making slight right turn, but not often. Called my dealership and immediately they said they were aware of issue and said it is common in Prologues. But due to the prologue being a GM make and not Honda, they were told they needed to wait till GM comes up with a solution, as well as parts being backordered. A few weeks later, knocking noise got louder and happening more often. Concerned I asked them to take a look at vehicle. I brought it in on March 4th, tech took it for a drive and yes confirmed issue and told me we just needed to wait or callback in a few months. As of today, April 11th, noise is extremely loud & always happens when making right turns, and is continuous through the whole duration of turn. Now we are slowly hearing it on left turns and when reversing.
Both monitors that display speed, amount of charge, basically all vehicle information are not working.
Axle is deteriorating and make a clicking, vibrating and loud noise when turning or driving
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera screen was blank. The contact stated that the battery was not fully charged. Additionally, while making a left turn, there was an abnormal clicking sound coming from the front passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times. The contact was informed that the front axle needed to be replaced. The contact was advised not to fully charge the battery. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the Warranty Department had to approve the request for a loaner vehicle, to allow the repairs to be performed. The contact stated that the request was submitted in December 2025, however the vehicle was still not repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V112000 (Back Over Prevention, Electrical System). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally express my profound dissatisfaction and escalating concern regarding a persistent mechanical issue with my Honda vehicle, which remains unresolved despite numerous attempts to secure a repair since its purchase in June 2024. Upon acquiring my brand-new vehicle in June 2024, I soon detected a distinctive clicking or thumping sound emanating from the steering mechanism whenever the wheel was turned. I promptly brought the vehicle to Lakeland Regal Honda's service department for diagnosis. A service technician conducted an assessment, confirming the audible anomaly, but I was subsequently informed of a parts unavailability and assured that I would be contacted once the necessary components arrived. Regrettably, no such communication was ever received. The issue persisted unabated throughout 2024, prompting a second visit to Lakeland Regal Honda. During this subsequent appointment, the service department acknowledged the ongoing problem, noting it as a prevalent concern among several customers. I was informed that the component in question, reportedly related to the axle assembly, was currently on backorder and that the dealership was awaiting a factory shipment from Honda. Once again, I was promised a follow-up, a commitment that, unfortunately, was not fulfilled. The situation has now extended to April 8, 2026, nearly two years since the initial report. Upon contacting Lakeland Regal Honda once more, I was advised that the dealer
On April 5, 2026, I was stopped at a busy intersection waiting to turn left. When I proceeded through the light, the car's sensor suddenly went off and the car braked violently. I thought I had hit something in the road. (I was driving in one pedal mode). There was nothing in the road, and I had not collided with anything. The car just decided to brake because it incorrectly sensed something in my way. I was almost rear ended, and it was very frightening. My safety was at risk as well as the person behind me. I have an appointment with the service department at the dealership to address it. This car has been in for service 5 times in the 18 months I have leased it. I have complained to the dealer multiple times, and they have basically ignored me.
There is a loud clicking sound coming from the front axle(s) while steering around corners. It began within 30 days of taking possession of the new vehicle in mid-April 2025 and has continued to this day, April 6, 2026 with 11k mileage on the car. Furthermore it has become progressively worse, whereby early on the steering had to be near the fully clocked left or right position, now it only has to be about 30% in either direction for the clicking to be audibly and vibrationally noticeable. Two Honda dealerships near Orlando FL have been informed of the issue as well as a case opened (and closed by Honda without my consent) Honda Auto Customer Service. No action has been taken to correct it. I am consistently advised it is a "known issue" and that the vehicle is "safe to drive". Long story short, Honda is well aware of the issue, but has completely failed to apprise its customer base of any pending solution. They are content to advise us to continue to operate the Prologue and suffer the issue. I've given Honda a year to correct it. I am now concerned to operate the vehicle for fear one or more of the front half shafts is going to come apart at speed.
The CV axles on my vehicle are making a loud, rhythmic clicking noise, especially when accelerating or turning. This issue has become progressively worse and is now occurring during most driving maneuvers. My primary safety concern is a catastrophic mechanical failure where the axle could break or seize while the vehicle is in motion, leading to a sudden loss of power to the wheels or a potential loss of steering control. This poses a significant risk of a crash on the road.
The axle on the vehicle clicks when turning. Honda offered to replace the part and I took the vehicle in, only to be told that Honda is not fixing this part because it is a known defect with no fix. This was in December 2025. As of this date, no fix has been found. Additionally, the driver’s side window makes a ton of wind noise when driving over 30mph. Honda failed to find the cause for the issue and could not fix the car after having it for over a week in early 2025.
I am the owner of a 2024 Honda Prologue Touring Sport Utility FWD 2WD. I am reporting a defect involving a clicking/ratcheting noise originating from the front CV joint/drive axle when turning the steering wheel, most notably during left turns and when the steering wheel auto-centers after a turn. The noise is consistent and reproducible. This is not an isolated issue — Honda itself acknowledged the problem in a December 19, 2025 Tech Line Summary Article applicable to all 2024–2026 Prologue vehicles, confirming a "clicking or ratcheting type noise when turning" caused by the front drive axles. Hundreds of other Prologue owners have filed identical complaints with the NHTSA. I have not yet had the vehicle repaired as replacement parts have been reported to be on extended backorder at dealerships nationwide, and multiple owners have reported the clicking returning after axle replacement, suggesting the replacement parts share the same defect. I am concerned this defect poses a safety risk, as the clicking has grown more pronounced over time and the integrity of the CV joint/axle directly affects vehicle control during turning. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and compel Honda to issue a formal recall and supply properly redesigned replacement parts.
Loud clicking or ratcheting sound coming from front suspension (ball joint/control arm/axel) that occurs when taking tight turns, left or right. Dealership said its not visibly broken after visual inspection, so there is no warranty coverage until Honda issues a formal recall or other directive.
I need NHTSA assisting in resolving safety recall # 26V112, Instrument Panel and Rearview Camera Displays May Fail/FMVSS 101,111,305. I took my Honda Prologue vehicle to Honda dealer for the recall to be address. The dealer started the update process but failed to complete the update process and is now refusing to continue with the safety recall. The update process is to bring the vehicle operating system to the new and improved version to address failures as reported. The operating system that has the known failures is version Android 12, released in April of 2024. The new and improved operating system is version Android 14, released in May of 2025. This new and improved version were release to address the known failures. My vehicle is still operating on the same outdated operating version (Android 12) knows to have these failures. I have been in contact with Honda corporate trying to address this safety recall to no avail. I need assisting in resolving this safety recall as I do not feel safe driving my vehicle on the road. I am requesting a response regarding this matter.
For the second time in 2 weeks, my car has had a “Service High Voltage System” warning. The HVAC failed and car has blown cold air while heat is on.
The onboard navigation and entertainment system, including both the primary dashboard/driver interface and the center console, went fully black for over 1 minute while driving on the highway. When the screen is blank, no input is available from the vehicle as to speeds, behavior of cruise control, warning systems such as lane control, front rear and side awareness, operator awareness of speed, other vehicle warnings. Bringing to dealer today. this is the 2nd time this has occurred. The first time was in December. Vehicle was brought to dealer for software update. Update “bricked” the car, and a new radio module needed to be ordered. This took about 6 weeks. Module installed, software was updated, and this was to have addressed the issue. While records may indicate that the update was not yet performed on the vehicle, it was fully updated and the vehicle (according to the dealer) is fully up to date and the recall for it has been addressed with the software update. However, the update did not address the issue. No other inspections have occurred to date. No other symptoms or warning lights.
High voltage system error has flagged and been fixed multiple times starting in early January of 2026. Car randomly warns and breaks in the middle of the road because it sensed something that wasn’t there. Luckily no wrecks have occurred. Both CV joints have a loud clicking noise that the Honda dealerships knows about but has no fix for. I currently have an appointment for the dealership to look at my brake and high voltage system again.
Clicking noise while operating vehicle AND turning steering wheel to the left. Concerns of axle failing/braking while turning or sudden stop if ever encounter a situation when I need to slam on the brakes.
When Turning to right and left there is rattling sounds mostly on slow turn. I brought to Honda dealership drive test it with their Tech. They said might be drive shaft or CV joints. But they did not fixed because they did see loose or bad since the car is new parts may not be available. yet they told I can still drive it . They said will report it and let the Honda motor company what to do on this issue they will me when they get response from the manufacturer. Today the rattling noise gradually increase. My concern is might worse or all a sudden will brake. Thank you for your time in reading my report. Best, 2024 Honda prologue Owner.
The CV joints are making a clicking noise now every time I turn and I’m starting to notice that there is some sticking when that happens. It would be available for inspection on request. Yes the dealer acknowledged the failure, but says the parts to fix it our back ordered and so has told me twice to just bring the car back at a later date. There are no warning lamps.
The contact owns a 2024 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was test-driven, and the dealer confirmed that the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound while turning. The contact was informed that it was a common failure; however, no diagnostic information was provided. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was pending approval. The contact stated that the vehicle was covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 51,064.
When turning the suspension does a clinking noise or sound. Very noticeable when fully turning to the right or left. Very concerning.
My vehicle constantly receives an error message while driving stating, "SERVICE HIGH VOLTAGE SYSTEM" and "REDUCED ACCELERATION DRIVE WITH CARE." Error symbols appear on the dashboard that show an orange turtle, a red battery with a big exclamation point through it and and a red car outline with a big exclamation point going through the middle of it. When this happens, the vehicle acceleration is significantly reduced and the regenerative braking or "one-pedal" feature automatically becomes disabled. If you're relying on that system to brake, it will not do so when you need it to and you have to manually press the brake to slow and stop the vehicle. This error clears after a few days of driving but never fails to return. The dealer said they found nothing wrong when I brought it in (when the error wasn't being displayed, of course) but it went back today with the error displayed so they could witness it for themselves. Separately, the vehicle makes an incredibly loud knocking noise when accelerating with the wheel turned. It appears this is coming from the CV joints.
When driving vehicle and making left or right turns clicking and knocking noises can be heard and felt. It is consistent with both wide and tight turns. Not intermittent. No outside factors causing noises. Concern was validated by finding Honda forums detailing other owners having the same issue. Some owners have had axle and cv joint engineering problems stated to be the case by Honda and have had replacement parts installed when they can be acquired in a timely manner. Others like myself cannot get a dealership to recognize the issue upon inspection so no action can be taken. There are no warning lights or messages displayed. Honda states publicly that this is not a safety hazard but it could result in sudden failure of those parts which would prove to be a dangerous safety hazard. Vehicle would be made available for inspection upon request. Only Honda has inspected for this issue at this time. No independent repair shop, insurance or law enforcement.
I brought in my car for a software udpate recall this past Saturday 21MAR26. I also mentioned that at low speeds and turning the wheel I can hear a clicking sound from the front axel. The software recall was addressed but the dealership mentioned that that there is a known issue with front axle CV joints but at this time the car is still driveable.
The suspected failure involves the front axle/CV (constant velocity) joint assembly, part of the drivetrain system that transfers power from the motor to the wheels while allowing steering movement. The vehicle produces a repetitive clicking/clunking noise during turns, particularly under light acceleration from a stop. This symptom is consistent with a failing outer CV joint or axle shaft component. The vehicle and all components are still installed and available for inspection upon request.A failing CV joint or axle can lead to loss of drive to a wheel, joint separation, or sudden drivetrain failure, especially during turning or acceleration. This creates a risk of loss of vehicle control, particularly when entering traffic, turning at intersections, or maneuvering at low speeds in populated areas. The clicking occurs during normal driving conditions, indicating a potential mechanical integrity issue that could worsen without warning. If the joint fails completely, it could result in sudden immobilization in traffic or inability to control vehicle movement safely. The vehicle has been presented to only the dealer, and they initially replaced but the problem persists. They do not have an answer other than when I presented bc my tires were showing serious wear, they refused to replace and said it was not connected to CV joint problem. No warning lamps or messages have appeared.

What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
