2024 Honda Prologue complaints

When turning the wheel hard left or right there is a popping or clicking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer, Terry were able to relegate the issue and confirmed a know issue with the front axel. A replacement has been ordered however the party is on backorder with no resolution date. There are no other symptoms or warning lights. This is a safety issue because I don't know if this will lead to complete failure of the axel and lead to a crash.

There is a knocking / clicking noise from the front driver wheel when I execute a tighter radius turn.

The dash and infotainment shut down and went completely blank screen while driving. No speedometer. No information on how fast I was going.

Service High Voltage Error came on and no heat was emitting from the HVAC. This is a valve malfunction that cannot be replaced in any timely manner and renders the car undriveable.

Honda Prologue with less than 5000 miles has begun experiencing a clicking sound when accelerating from a stop while turning left or right. Issue is consistent and reproducible. No warning lamps. Vehicle Drive Shaft makes clicking noise at the CV Joint. Vehicle part is backordered due to nationwide shortage caused by vehicle defect on numerous 2024 Honda Prologues. There is no code on dashboard. Honda service has looked at vehicle and stated noise is caused by the CV joint for the drive shaft. Still says to drive due to backordered parts with no resolution. Vehicle has less than 2000 miles on it when problem arised.

I cannot back out of my garage or down my 20 foot driveway without the car emergency braking 2-3 times. There is nothing behind me. This happens every time. I had to disable the following features. - Park Assist with Braking - Rear Cross Traffic Braking

OnStar would not work and could not be enabled. OnStar is required to enable navigation and the HondaLink app. The dealership keep the vehicle for 5 week trying to resolve. Electric cars really need onboard navigation to work. Without navigation you cannot - navigate to charging stations. - the battery will not precondition - you cannot open your garage door Without the HondaLink app you cannot - remotely unlock my car in an emergency - set off emergency alarm - can not locate my car if missing

After about 6000 miles, there has been a consistent clicking sound when I turn the wheel that I understand is a faulty CT joint.

Front axels produce loud clicking and popping noises when turning sharper in both the left and right directions. This first started at 2,500 miles and seems to be getting progressively worse. Vehicle now has 3,500 miles on it. Sound is heard in both forward and reverse. Parking collision activates regularly when backing out of the garage. It aggressively stops the vehicle and will not allow it to move even though there is no obstruction. Emergency braking aggressively activated one time for an unknown reason.

When pulling out of the driveway or parking spot and turning sharply to the left or right a clicking sound presumably from the CV joint can be heard. It has not been confirmed by the dealer, the vehicle is in the service department at leadcar honda due to “service high voltage system” and “unable to charge” messages. This message puts the vehicle in limp mode causing an unsafe situation and inability to charge had the potential to leave me stranded in frigid winter temperatures. The vehicle has not been inspected be the dealer because they only have one person certified to work on Prologue. The warning messages popped up on the screen and the warning lamps lit up on the dashboard

Vehicle sways from the rear at highway speed when going through bumps including small bumps. it feels like the vehicle can swerve/ lose control at any moment. No lights are on. traction control is on.

There has been a knocking sound over the past 3-to 4 weeks when making a left turn. This is a safety issue because if the system fails while driving, I, my passengers, and other drivers on the road are at risk of injury. This has not been reproduced by the dealer or inspected by the manufacturer. Additionally, no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms occur before the problem occurs.

The warning system is over-sensitive. Front Collision Warning - The forward collision warning randomly comes on while driving. Once, I was coming to a stop and at least two car lengths away when the system alerted me. Another time, I was driving down the road, and no one was in front of me when the system came on. This is a safety issue to both the driver, passengers, and others on the road because if the car thinks it's too close when it's not, it could violently and abruptly stop, thus causing other vehicles around the driver to crash, too! Rear Cross Traffic Warning - When backing up, the system violently stops the car and throws it into park mode, and there is nothing behind the vehicle. It will do it three times if you try to put it in reverse after being violently stopped. This happens all the time. One time I was in a parking lot with no one around and this happened 3 times before I could safely back up and then drive. The current mitigation is to turn the Rear Cross Traffic Warning off. This is a safety issue because being stopped so violently and abruptly could cause neck and back injuries. This is also a safety issue for others because I have to turn the system off, and there could be an unfortunate accident the system is meant to prevent.

Sensors are highly sensitive, particularly regarding rear braking and parking maneuvers. There are never any objects or individuals behind me, yet the vehicle brakes automatically.

When backing up with the auto braking on, the car will sometimes brake extremely hard when there is nothing behind me. Sometimes it almost won't let me backup at all as it keeps thinking there is something back there.

I was not assisted with setting up OnStar on the day of purchase, which was at the end of September 2024. The next day, when I was unable to set it up myself, I contacted the dealer and was sent numerous links to set it up. However, it has never worked and has been to the Service department twice. The first visit was on October 19, 2024, and I waited for one month for parts that never arrived. They informed me that the parts were on backorder, and since the vehicle was drivable, I chose to pick it up. However, the radio went completely out on December 19, 2024, and I was instructed to bring the vehicle back to the dealer because the parts had finally arrived. I was provided with a loaner, and the vehicle has been at the dealer ever since. I reached out to them on week three to inquire about the estimated time of completion for the new radio system installation and was informed that additional parts needed to be ordered, which would take seven more days. I followed up 10 days later and was told that the part had still not arrived

Vehicle makes noise when turning

Less than 1200 miles on the car and the cv axle was clicking on the left side. Dealer confirmed that replacement of the cv joint/axle is needed and the part is apparently on order.

When turning, the car makes a very loud clicking noise that comes from the front wheel area. Sounds like a CV joint going bad.

When coming out of a corner, the steering does not return to center.

Car will stop abruptly even when simply reversing out of my garage when there are no obstacles behind me. This poses a safety risk to me and others. Car has not been inspected. I was told by the dealer this is a known complaint. No warning lights or messages.

Sterring does not return to center when coming out of a turn. This is a MAJOR safety issue. I could be forced off the road or worse, into another vehicle or pedestrian if I am not quick to force the car to straighten out. Has not been inspected. Vehicle makes clicking noise in driver side front wheel area when making a sharp left turn and moving vehicle from a stopped or parked position. Vehicle was taken to dealership for inspection and was told by dealership that the issue was compared to a "known good" vehicle which reproduced the same sound. Dealership said this is considered normal. Dealership test drove vehicle with me and confirmed hearing the noise. This issue is potentially a faulty axle and or CV. This is potentially a safety risk as a can cause unstable driving, resulting in injury or death.

My brakes were mushy when braking. Warning notices on the dash for servicing brakes and other related brake systems came up. At one point I couldn't come to a full stop. Issue first noticed 9/26/24. Dropped the car off at the dealer 10/8/24 and it sat for four months waiting the brake master cylinder. Picked up on 1/9/25. So far the brakes are working fine. I am now noticing a clicking sound coming from the front end when steering.

The car makes a clicking noise when turning left or right under acceleration or deceleration. The seems to be a low droning sound when turning right at moderate speed. No lamps or messages of any error is displayed. Dealer inspected and confined the noise but did not specify a permanent fix. The back order part to attempt repair is a driver's CV axle. The part is said to be back ordered about 3 weeks.

The car just emergency brakes for no reason. This is an issue because what it decides to break one day while another car is near by or I am on the highway. Also, there is a cv joint clicking issue and there was a red car with a ! That popped up too, when I took it to the dealership they were no help.

Car has only 4,000 miles and the CV axels make a grinding noise when turning. Also the emergency braking will randomly go off when reversing the car.

There is a clicking noise that started when turning left. The sound comes from the front of the vehicle. I think it's tied to the steering, because it changes with me turning the steering wheel. I have not contacted the dealer as according to online information there's no fix available.

The Honda link app frequently does not connect to my iPhone to remotely unlock my car. If I am locked out with the keys inside I would not safely get into the vehicle. I hope Honda will fix this issue. The HondaLink app is basically terrible and I give up with the connection after several attempts.

Leaking Cv joint causing clicking when making a tight turn

Took delivery of vehicle 11/19/24. Had the vehicle 10 days. Let another vehicle out of the driveway & upon pulling back in got "brake system failure" alert and the car would not stop rolling not matter how hard I hit the brake. I had to push the brake button. The "one pedal driving unavailable" alert also came on. Towed to dealership same day(11/29/24). They tell me it's a software update, but their system won't connect to the car because they need a software update. Finally get the vehicle back on 12/11/24. FOUR DAYS LATER & the same problem again. Brake system failure, one pedal driving & service stabilitrak alerts come on while going to leave my house. Towed again the next morning(12/16/24). Brake booster ordered 12/17 with no ETA. 2 days go by with no communication from them. I ask what's up. Still no ETA. I mention lawyer on Monday the 22nd & wow my part is there on Tuesday! Tells me car will be fixed by 12/27. That day comes only for them to tell me their system isn't working again to program the car. I file a case with Honda. I hear nothing from the dealership again until 1/8/25. I filed lemon law on 1/7. I hear nothing from service again until 1/13 just more excuses & about engineers coming to look at the car and ordering a new module. Get another message from them today that the car can be picked up(1/17/25). I cannot wait to get rid of this vehicle. I do not feel safe driving it anymore especially with 2 children. Luckily I was not on a highway or far from home when

Clicking sound heard when turning right or left at approximately 300 miles. No warning lights were on during the events. I brought it to dealership and after a test drive, was told it's an axle and will take 2 weeks to get in. I was informed it is safe to drive in the meantime. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance representative. Only the dealership, so far.

When I reverse, from leaving home at our garage, multiple times the car will apply the brakes. It thinks there is something or someone behind me and applies the brakes to avoid hitting something. I ended up turning off the rear braking setting. I was also cruising along on the highway at 70MPH when the car turned off the the system. It shocked me because I wasn't expecting the gas pedal to be let up. It seemed like the car thought there was another car in front of me even though there were no cars for at least 3/4 mile . It turned off the front collision system. The sensors seem sensitive even though I cleaned the sensor/radar on the front windshield, the front camera, rear camera and the side door cameras.

The steering doesn't return to the center after a hard turn. This requires me to manually return the steering to a neutral forward setup. Additionally, when it's rainy, the emergency rear braking is overly sensitive and will randomly activate.

HondaLink app has major defects which impact safety and operation of the vehicle. Locking and unlocking the doors via the app doesn't work half the time. This causes a safety issue to access the vehicle if my keys are not readily available. Additionally the app notifies me that my charging is complete on the vehicle when it in fact is not charged to the set charging level. This could cause issues with operation of the vehicle if someone stops charging when receiving this notification. This could cause the vehicle to not have sufficient battery upon using the vehicle. Additionally, the tire pressure readout shown in the app doesn't work half the time. The app has a very long response time to do most tasks, or times out meaning the task doesn't complete. Additionally, there is a wind noise developing with the vehicle when driving around 35mph or greater, it is loud when driving the vehicle and sounds like the drivers window is cracked open, however it is not.

Vehicle is making a clicking noise from the front end when making left or right turns and sometimes when reversing out of driveway and turning left or right. Dealership inspected the vehicle, confirmed the front axles were clicking, and special ordered driveshaft parts. The parts are backordered due to a nationwide shortage because of the same defect found on multiple 2024 Honda Prologues. The dealership stated that it's been an issue that many other Prologue owners have come in for, and there is no resolution other than replacing the parts. The vehicle had about 7000 miles on it when the problem started. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed.

About two weeks into having my Honda prologue. I started noticing a clicking sound. Every time I took sharp sharp turns my steering wheel is not centered. I took it to the dealer, thinking that it was a wheel misalignment. They told me that the alignment was in perfect shape I the steering wheel is still not Centered. when I drive. but dealer said they found no issues.... The rear crossing warning detects a person a lot of times even when there is no person behind the vehicle, it makes a sudden stops. I have gotten whiplash because of how hard the breaking system abruptly stops.

The car has a clicking noise every time I turn from a stop. It was diagnosed as requiring front axles to be replaced. I was told that it was safe to drive but the noise has me concerned. Problem was diagnosed on 12/13/2024. I have been told the axles won’t be released until 2/24/2025. I am not the only one in this situation

Front CV axles make loud clicking when making sharp turn from stop.

We had our Honda Prologue just a couple weeks and decided to drive to the mountains. On the way up, we got several error messages: "Service High Voltage System", "Service Vehicle Soon" and "Reduced Acceleration, Drive with Care". The car was still driveable, but we could not charge it at were stuck in the mountains. We had to get towed back to the dealer. It was in for a couple days before being returned. They said they had: 1) "Done a hard battery reset"; and 2) serviced the A/C system". The car seems to be working OK but we are wary of taking it on longer drives. This seems to be a common issue on Hondaprologue forums.

The vehicle comes with an HondaLink app that allows control of many features and is needed to claim the valuable charging credits (EVGo) that come with the vehicle. It has been more than a month since we bought the vehicle and the HondaLink app has never worked. I have been on the phone with Honda many times with no fix. They have sent me email links to patch the issue, but none of the links have worked. This is a defective app.

The passenger side front CV axle started clicking and leaking grease with 600 miles on the car. It was replaced under warranty with the same faulty part.

The forward collision sensor failed to work after 2500 miles, disabling my ability to use adaptive cruise control. I've thoroughly cleaned the area where the two sensors are and it made no difference.

Honda link app is extremely slow to respond or doesn’t respond at all. Safety issue if no keys are available. Unable to unlock car, if keys are left in the car, the car will lock with no way to unlock if the app is not working.

When turning the steering wheel when accelerating there is a popping noise in the front of the vehicle.

Emergency braking in reverse will randomly engage while in reverse when there is no object that is potentially obstructing reverse. This is a safety issue as when it engages, other vehicles around may not be able to react as quickly and cause an impact. This has not been reported to manufacturer, it has been reported to dealer. Warning lamp for emergency breaking engaging and requires to be put in gear and engage manual break accordingly.
