2024 Honda Prologue complaints

Car makes clicking/knocking noise in front end when turning left or right. Took to dealership and they said it is likely CV joint issue. Part is on back order and awaiting part for replacement. Unclear how safe it is to drive in this condition. Occurred with around 2000 miles on the car.

While driving on the highway with no one in front of me, the car unexpectedly slams on the brakes. This issue consistently happens at a specific part of the highway where there is oncoming traffic and a slight incline. It seems like the sensors may need to be reconfigured. Additionally, when backing out of my driveway, the car struggles with snow or ice. It mistakenly detects an object behind me and automatically applies the brakes. To override this, I have to hold the gas pedal. It also doesn’t handle ice reflections well.

Regularly slams the emergency brakes when reversing out of the driveway when there is nothing there to warrant an emergency brake Additionally, it will not release the brakes for several seconds. I feel this could leave me stuck in the middle of the road and vulnerable to getting hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Since this vehicle came out new from the dealer, every time I make a U-turn it makes a sound in the cv joint, especially when it is on the left side.

The EV battery would not charge. There were 2 messages, but nothing to indicate the issue, except that it was unable to charge. Took it into a dealer for service who stated that the freon was low. Without freon, the battery won't charge due to possible overheating. This was a brand new car - owned 2 days. They refilled the freon and charged the car. They could not find any leaks.

CV Axle makes clicking/creaking noises and may fail, causing steering steering. suspension safety issues. The dealer identified the left axle as failing and replaced it. However, the problem has since recurred in both front axles. Dealer claims car is safe to drive.

My car is very low miles 2600 and has a clicking sound on the right front CV joint. The Dealer diagnosed and said there is nothing they can do. Honda is aware of it. He said it's a known issue with the Honda Prologue that thousands are affected.

For the second time in 7 months since I’ve owned the car, I need to get it serviced for an error on the panel names “System Voltage Error”. As a result, the car can’t be charged (EV), the heating doesn’t work in the middle of winter, and acceleration is reduced.

Safety issue 1 Automatic collision breaking is too sensitive when going in reverse. The vehicle locked up the brakes several times when I was trying to reverse causing myself and my family‘s heads to snap back suddenly. Safety issue 2 -knocking sound coming from the CV joint when backing up and turning at the same time. This usually happens when it’s cold outside. This is a safety issue because if the CV joint fails, this could cause loss of control of the vehicle while driving.

My 2024 Honda prologue Makes a loud clicking noise on low speeds while turning, only has 3300 miles

My sunroof has a constant issue when i fully open it and then try to close it. When I tried to close it the sunroof does close, but it immediately opens back up by itself. It takes me 5 to 10 tries to try to close it back up once it closes and you open it back up it does it again and it reopens by itself.

I have 9,500 miles on my car and within the last week every time I make a turn (either direction) there is a very loud clicking/grinding noise coming from the CV Axel. I’ve noticed it’s a common theme for Prologues & have been told it’s safe to drive but there are currently no remedies for this problem. It makes mes very nervous that it is going to turn into something worse soon.

All of sudden these 3 errors started showing on the car dashboard: 1. Service High Voltage System 2. Reduced Acceleration Drive with Care 3. Service Vehicle Soon When try to charge the vehicle, car was unable to charge with this error on the dashboard "Unable to Charge, Service charging station". Currently car is in Honda Service station since Jan 13th 2025. I received an update from the service coordinator that car is having an issue with the AC system and Honda is aware of this issue but there is no ETA on/or how to fix it.

Whenever it gets cold, the car will being to experience brake systems failure, it was suddenly only go 62MPH. On this particular occasion, the car died in the middle of the street, thus blocking the street and causing a police response. Contacted Honda Support and they advised it would be up to 2 hours to get it towed out of there. Police called their own tow truck, the tow trucks had issues with it not going into Transport Mode and stuck parking break. It was brought to the dealer for repair. I believe the car is not safe because there has been several failures of this nature during the cold and other general system failures that appear to be computer related. More than likely police information item is on file.

On a cold day the vehicle's baking system failed. It was would not move more than 62MPH and would not function. When dealer was contacted no assistance was given until Honda Corporation got involved. The problem cleared up on its own and I was advised that it should be fine at this point.

The car had an error with a front safety camera, the car stopped in the middle of an intersection and I had to coast into the nearest parking lot. The error cleared it self but Honda was of no help. The dealers do not know how to fix the cars.

When I take sharp turns the passenger side has a loud clicking sound. It's concerning after less than 600 miles there is a loud clicking sound.

There is clicking in what I believe are the CV axles while turning left and right. The heat does not work in the blistering cold which causes loss of visibility since the defrost won’t work. When this happens the vehicle gives a red warning light indicating “service high voltage system/battery.” I have taken it into the dealership 3 times now for the same reasons and each time they can’t diagnose the issue.

When turning the wheel there is Clicking sounds. Something is definitely wrong with this car.

1. Service high voltage Battery warning. HVAC system stopped working and vehicle is in limp mode. 2. Vehicle clicks and clunks in the front end noise coming from the CV joints on both side. Dealership says that it is "ok to drive" parts are on back order with no ETA.

Car makes loud knocking sound when turning, especially when cold. Started almost immediately after taking delivery. Happens every time drive car and is getting worse. Available to inspect. When accelerating while turning the steering wheel either right or left, I hear a clicking sound in the front of the vehicle. I reported it to a dealer 7 days ago (on 1/13/2025), but I still have not heard back.

When engaging the right turn signal and upon completing a right turn, the left turn signal activates three times when the signal stalk returns to the center position. Took vehicle to Honda dealership where it was confirmed. Honda dealership replaced turn signal switch. Vehicle continuing to experience this problem, intermittently. This is a potential safety risk as other vehicles will see the left turn signal activated on your vehicle and may think you are trying to turn left or switch lanes, when you are not.

UNKNOWN- car makes loud knocking sounds when turning right or left. Not sure what it could be but I read other people say it’s an axle issue. Took car to Honda, they inspected car and said it was fine and cannot figure out why the sound is occurring, but did say all prologues have this knocking sound when turning. Honda is currently investigating why this is happening and as of now, my dealership said the car is safe to drive even though I hear the sound daily and it makes me nervous. I use this car daily to drive my kids to school and myself to work and it is the only car I have but it is worrisome.

The HondaLink has unreliable connectivity with the vehicle for remote functions and charge notifications. When keys are misplaced or locked in the car, the unlock feature does not work as expected neither does the climate control function or any of the remote functions. This is can leave me stranded and unable to get into my car. The Charge notification also do not work this means when something happens that interupts charging to the car I would not know that my car will not be ready to drive when I anticipated or at all leaving me unable to get to my destination.

When turning and accelerating either direction, a clicking noise is hear. This is diagnosed as the CV Joints and the drive axles. The issue is worse in cold climate.

Automatic Emergency Braking is too sensitive. I have a one car garage and can not back out of my garage with the feature enabled. It continues to brake and set the parking brake until I disable the braking feature.

Car has less then 4000 miles on it and needs both front CV joints replace as they loudly click when turning left or right. Parts are on indefinite back order.

I have a new Honda Prologue with less than 300 miles. The Vehicle Drive Shaft makes clicking noise at the CV Joint when I make a left hand turn. I took it to my local Honda Dealership, Roush Honda in Westerville, Ohio. They acknowledged the problem and in fact saw the same problem on a new Prologue that is on their lot. They told me they would contact Honda about my problem and hopefully arrange to get my vehicle repaired. I have heard/read that the part needed to repair my car is backordered due to nationwide shortage caused by this vehicle defect on numerous 2024 Honda Prologues. Prologues owners with this defect are being told the car is safe to drive. This is a guess on the part of the dealership staff since they really don’t know what the implications will be if their is a catastrophic failure of the defective part while someone is driving,

When turning left or right at low speeds, I hear loud clicking noises. It is available for inspection. I'm not sure if this is a safety issue. There were no warning lamps or other messages prior to the issue. The symptom first appeared around 2500 miles on the odometer. I read on the forums that it could be related to the CV joints, so took it to my dealership and let them know. They did not document that I said CV joints, but did write down that there was a clicking noise. They kept my vehicle for three days, said they contacted Honda, replaced the axel using an axel from another new car on the lot, and the same noise was there. They said that it was not a safety issue, and that they would notify me when a fix was available.

Vehicle abbrupted stops when driving with the front collision on. I drive up the same hill everyday and when slightly turning left along a curve going up hill, and if there is a parked car present on the right side of the road, the car will abruptedly stop. If I slow down to less than 20 mph, the car won't stop, but doesn't seem like it should happen at normal driving speeds.

Knocking sound when sharp turn to the right. CV Joint?

When turning, either left or right, a clicking noise is coming from the the front end. The noise comes from the front end in the direction I am turning from the wheels area of the front end.

When I was backing out of a parking spot the rear collision detection went off without any obstructions behind me. Although I was safe this could of caused bigger issues.

HondaLink Application does not always accurately communicate with the vehicle. This could cause issues with sounding alarm for distress or just everyday convenience for heating/cooling the car. Also, it is used to track charing and tire pressure.

When accelerating while turning right or left from a stop, there is a loud knocking sound from both sides in the front suspension. The sound is more severe with harder acceleration.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assistance was unavailable more than 4 times in one month. Got a propulsion waning light 3 times. On the third time, the dealer ordered a new EV Battery for my Prologue

Heard creaking noise from front axels. Had them replaced via warranty and the new ones are doing the same which leads me to believe the replacement fb axels joints are the same

CV Axles are making a loud clicking noise while turning the steering wheel to the left or right. It has progressively gotten worse as time passes.

Left front clicking when turning the wheel to the left. Happens when reversing as well. Sounds like the CV joint needs replacement. Vehicle has less than 1000 miles on it.

When turning sharply and accelerating at low speeds or from a stop, vehicle makes clicking sound. Vehicle is brand new, and I noticed this with about 600mi on the vehicle. I'm concerned this could lead to future loss of steering and cause an accident or render vehicle not drivable. I have taken it to the dealer and their mechanic confirmed hearing the same clicking noise and is awaiting guidance from the manufacturer (Honda corporate) on how to resolve it. I'm still waiting for a solution .

When turning sharply right and left a knocking sound occurs when accelerating. I have reproduced the sound multiple times. Service department confirms the CV joint is failing.

The automatic emergency front collision warning system is extremely sensitive and will warn you to break incessantly. Sometimes it is because the sun is shining brightly on it sometimes it’s when a car is parked and you are passing it. Starting at around 600 miles, there was a clicking sound from what I believe is the CV joint when turning full lock in both directions. Now at 1700 miles it happens when turning before the wheel is locked in either direction.

Car makes clicking/creaking sound when performing a left or right turn from a full stop. Noticed this issue around 4500 miles. Other reports indicate CV joint issue and that the part is out of order.

Left and right half-shafts (CVs) are defective - both click loudly when turning in each respective direction. Was advised by a GM dealer that this is normal and will go away once the weather warms up. Noises have been apparent since first month of ownership (Sept 24) to present, happens every time I drive the car.
