2026 Honda Passport

Defect. Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2026 Pilot and Passport vehicles. The rear subframe bolts may have been tightened improperly.

Risk. Loose rear subframe bolts can lead to a loss of vehicle stability or rear subframe detachment, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy. Dealers will inspect and replace the rear subframe bolts as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 24, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is OOY. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning July 10, 2026.

The driver-side rear roof rail housing/bracket on my 2026 Honda Passport is loose. The affected section is exposed to wind while the vehicle is moving. The roof rail component has already been replaced once, but the replacement component is noticeably looser and appears to fit worse than the original component that was previously installed. The issue has therefore persisted despite a replacement, and the condition of the replacement is worse than that of the original part. I am concerned that the loose roof rail housing or bracket may become progressively dislodged under repeated wind exposure and vehicle vibration. If the component detaches while driving, it could create a road hazard or pose a risk to other motorists. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and evaluate whether this condition reflects a recurring component defect, inadequate retention, or an installation or fitment problem affecting other vehicles of the same model year. The component has already been replaced once, and the replacement has not resolved the concern. I believe the recurring nature of this issue warrants further evaluation rather than treating it solely as an isolated cosmetic problem.

Like many others have reported on the internet, I am now seeing the TT04 message on the dashboard inidicating that a software update was interrupted and I must see the dealer. This is concerning in that this bug has been reported for years and Honda has failed to find a solution. What exactly is not working in the car with a failed update? What must a dealer do to fix the update and is the car safe until then? No answers from Honda in two years.

Purchased vehicle November 27th, 2025 took car to the carwash after owning a few months and noticed after the car wash the paint was chipping. Took to dealership was told "oh those are door dings or something to that effect", filed with Honda was told basically the same thing. So, started doing research and came across the NHTSA website to file a complaint as well as the NCDS Informal Dispute Settlement Program. I have never had a new car or even a used car have the paint chip off when using a car wash. In doing my research it appears this particular make and model with the orange paint is a known issue. I didn't pay the price for this car to be unable to keep it clean. I am also filing a complaint with the state attorney generals office, this car is still under warranty.

I bought the 2026 Honda Passport Trailsport new with 300 dealer miles on it. From the very beginning there was a loud thump in the rear when going over speed bumps. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and they said they could not repeat the sound. I took it to another Honda dealer and test drove with the manager over speed bumps where the sound was clearly heard. The manager just said to drive more slowly over speed bumps because the Passport was only off-road capable not off road designed. I took it back to the original dealer I bought it from and drove over speed bumps with a technician who heard the thump. He then retorqued the rear subframe per the safety recall 4170A9. I left the dealer and retested driving over speed bumps. The thumping sound was still pronounced. Now I see this is a known NHTSA safety recall issue increasing the risk of crash or injury. I called the dealer and told them I was bringing it back until it was fixed.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ignition warning light illuminated and the message "Keyless Access Failure” was displayed with the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the wiring and connectors in the dashboard needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 590.

There is a defect issue with the driver's seat in this vehicle that is causing me to become distracted while driving. From the first time I sat in the vehicle, the driver’s seat produces a hard, localized pressure, like a bar or box, under the rear of the seat cushion that presses into my tailbone and the back of the seat bones. This is not delayed fatigue after a long trip. It is immediate. I have tried multiple combinations of seat height, tilt, recline, and lumbar. None of them remove the ridge. This vehicle has only about 900 miles. The sensation has not broken in or gone away. The seat is the ventilated (cooled) leather seat that is standard on TrailSport Elite. The hard spot is consistent with the ventilation housing/fan box under the cushion at the junction of the seat bottom and seatback. The sensation becomes like “sitting on a box,” tailbone/coccyx pressure and the need to shift constantly while driving.

The car in question is a 2026 Honda Passport Trailsport Elite that I purchased in August of 2026 -- and that I'm now thinking of selling! Occasionally when accelerating from a stopped position the acceleration will hesitate for a full second, followed by a slight herky jerky motion. This presents a dangerous situation --- particularly when turning left with oncoming traffic barrelling down. This does not happen all the time but its scary and I end up just waiting to turn rather than risking getting t-boned. I notice on Reddit and the Honda forum that this is a known issue! Nobody has offered a reason. I feel like selling the car it's so bad.

Cracks appeared on my headlight lens, some all the way through. Its a condition called crazing. Honda refuses to replace saying that I damaged them, which I haven't. If it rains hard, water can enter causing a short , headlights going out or a short causing a fire.

I just bought the brand new vehicle about a month and a half ago. Went on a vacation in [XXX] National [XXX]. I was cruising along XXX in [XXX], smooth highway, no one near me, great weather, and all of a sudden, there was a huge boom sound so loud, and glass fell down on me, I looked up and my sunroof had exploded and shattered, while the shade was open. I never saw any vehicle near me or bad weather or problem. Just cruising speed on an open highway. I read online and have been told this is a known occurrence with sunroofs in Honda Passports, and have researched online seeing it happen to others. I pulled over and called my Honda dealership. The recommended a crash wrap and to close the shade. I couldn't get it wrapped until I got home to [XXX], and my dealer did that. The shattering occurred on XXX about noon. It was scary, and I had glass in my hair, lap, and all around me in the car. No issues prior that I was aware of. I was looking straight ahead on the open highway when this occurred. The driver’s front seat has an internal manufacturing defect causing severe physical pain and numbness, creating a hazardous distraction and impacting my ability to safely operate the vehicle. While operating my 2026 Honda Passport, the driver's front seat induces intense pressure and localized pain against my tailbone and lower back within 20 to 30 minutes of driving. Investigation reveals a known community design flaw where a rigid internal component or improperly fitted seat ventilation hardware creates a hard, localized ridge right at the cushion junction. The sudden onset of severe tailbone pain and lower extremity numbness forces me to constantly shift body weight and alter my seating posture while the vehicle is in motion. This causes an extreme, continuous driver distraction, delays my reaction time to brake or steer, and makes maintaining proper vehicle control difficult during extended highway travel. I have had to resort to using aftermarket padding that alters my driving height and position, potentially compromising the engineered effectiveness of the vehicle's airbag and seatbelt safety systems. Driving from [XXX] to [XXX], just over 1hr into trip @ 100 miles out of town and on one of the many steep inclines on the route, the engine power seemed to pulse, as if increase and decrease of gas/acceleration, then has every single alert possible illuminated on dash with the bell sound: Electric power steering system problem, steering assist reduced. Electric parking brake system problem, parking brake not available. Brake system problem, brake performance may be reduced. Brake hold system problem, apply brake when stopped. Vehicle stability assist system problem, reduced traction and handling. Trailer stability assist system problem. Hill descent control system problem, apply brake when descending. Hill start assist problem, vehicle may roll upon brake release. Adaptive cruise control system problem. Collision mitigation braking system problem. Road departure mitigation system problem. Low speed braking control problem. Emission system problem, avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. All wheel drive system problem, only front wheels may be powered. All alerts ending with 'See your dealer' The car then had reduced power which was a significant safety concern and driving risk when navigating hills and traffic flowing at 75mph uphill while this vehicle going slower and slower regardless of gas pedal pressure: 65mph, than 60mph, than 55mph, than 50mhp eating gas like crazy. Coasted into gas station to asses. At low speed there was a rattle upon pressing gas pedal coming from

10 speed transmission at times down shifts harshly at low speed coming to a stop. you have to feather the brake pedal to come to a smooth stop without the head jerking. At times can hear and feel the gears downshift coming to a stop and occasional jolt right before the car comes to a complete stop. I've never had to think about braking to a smooth stop ever before this 10 speed transmission. This is coming from a similar Honda SUV with 6 speed transmission (2012 pilot). Resetting the transmission's adaptive learning values did not resolve the issue. I request that Honda investigate this defect, provide a software reprogram, or issue a recall to fix the shift quality.

Re: Case #[XXX] – Outstanding Concerns Case #[XXX] 2026 Honda PASSPORT, VIN: [XXX]. As we discussed, I am requesting that American Honda Motor Co. voluntarily repurchase my 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite. March 9, 2026: During a scheduled oil change, I reported the phone echo and infotainment concerns. The dealership was unable to duplicate the issue at that time. May 27, 2026: Vehicle evaluated for recurring infotainment concerns. The issues were not resolved. June 1, 2026: Vehicle returned for continued infotainment concerns. The issues remained unresolved. June 19, 2026: The dealership replaced the entire infotainment/head unit. Unfortunately, the original defects persisted immediately following the repair. In addition, Honda released an over-the-air (OTA) software update in March 2026. That update also did not resolve the infotainment defects. Since purchasing the vehicle in late October 2025, I have experienced persistent infotainment defects, including a phone echo affecting the receiving party on every outgoing phone call. Since I began formally documenting the issues in March 2026, I have documented 21 infotainment freezes and screen blackout incidents. These issues began shortly after I purchased the vehicle in November 2025 but were not individually documented until March. On 8/23/26 with 700 miles the panoramic shade would not close all the way. When used the button to retract, there was some loud clicking. I was able to guide the shade to close, but the shade has a sag on the front right.

The vehicle's infotainment system displays an OTA software update error message on every startup. Honda dealerships are unable to correct this issue without further intervention and software updates from Honda corporate. Dealer has stated that this issue may interfere with reliable over-the-air software updates, including any potential safety-related updates delivered through this OTA system.

I would like to register a formal complaint regarding the front seats in my 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite. The seat ventilation system creates significant discomfort around the tailbone, making it extremely difficult to tolerate drives of any meaningful length. I did not raise this concern sooner because my wife typically drives the vehicle and had accepted the discomfort as “normal.” It is not normal. I recently drove the vehicle to a store only 1.5 miles away, and by the time I arrived, the pressure and discomfort on my tailbone were already difficult to tolerate. This issue is not merely uncomfortable; it is a significant distraction for the driver and, in my opinion, a safety concern. A premium trim vehicle should not create this kind of problem. If anything, it should provide a high level of comfort. I have contacted the dealer where I purchased the vehicle, but their only proposed solution has been for me to trade it in for another new vehicle, which would leave me at a financial disadvantage. I believe Honda should recognize this as a design flaw and offer affected customers an appropriate remedy, such as replacement seats that resolve the issue or compensation that would allow customers to purchase aftermarket seats that do not have this problem.

The steering wheel clicks when turning. Purchase dealership did nothing. 2nd Honda dealer ship replaced the clock spring and steering column. Helped for a day then the noise returned. Additionally, there’s a dead spot when turning. It feels like a pause and the the vehicle takes a minute to catch up. Very unnerving.

PASSPORT 10 SPEED HARSH SHIFTING AT LOW SPEEDS. DOES NOT SHIFT FROM LOWER GEARS SMOOTHLY. ENGINE REVS BETWEEN GEARS. IT'S A HYDRAULYIC SHIFT FLARE. IN ADDITION, HARSH DOWNSHIFTING AND ABRUPT DECELERATION WHEN LIFTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Passport. The contact stated that the wheel alignment was required due to an off-center steering wheel. The contact stated that on the second day of ownership, the vehicle shuddered, jerked, lurched, and hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal. No warning lights were illuminated during the transmission failure. Additionally, the multi-view camera system malfunctioned while driving, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was determined that the transmission and the camera system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the transmission failure recurred within five minutes of retrieving the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. A district manager informed the contact that the transmission function was related to the adaptive learning and might be resolved with continued driving. The contact stated that the manufacturer failed to accept responsibility for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 190.

I was driving approximately 70 MPH, on a freeway in rain; I moved to the passing lane to go around a semi-truck. Spray from the semi was heavy but I could still see the road. Suddenly, the car brakes engaged very strongly. We were jolted forward in our seats. Had a car been following me, that driver may not have had time to brake himself. I believe the dash flashed a large braking sign. It only happened once. I'm reporting it to the dealer tomorrow for the first time.

The vehicle’s software can’t be updated due to a well known long standing error. This could effect safety systems, I was told that my car has four updates (dealer)which can’t download/install due to this OTA problems. Whats worse is that Hondas engineers looked at my vehicle’s systems and reported no pending updates. Short story, this has been years of errors that Honda can’t fix. Dealer said that repairs could potentially “brick” my vehicle.

On June 29, 2026, we were driving on interstate 87 near the Albany airport when a small rock struck my car windshield which caused a small, star-shaped crack on the driver's side of my windshield. I took the car immediately to a Safelite location near the Albany airport to try and have the star repaired at their facility however the effort failed and turned the small star shape into a one foot crack going across the windshield. It was eventually replaced at another Safelite the following week.

On July 31, 2026, we we're driving north on interstate 81 in northeastern Pennsylvania when a small rock flew up from another vehicle striking the windshield and creating a small star-shaped crack in the windshield.

My 2026 Honda Passport has experienced two separate “phantom breaking” events while I was driving on clear roadways without any other traffic. Both events occurred while driving with cruise control set at 35 mph.

I took my card to Honda Of Staten Island. An advisor took a ride in my car and heard the knocking noise from under the Honda Passport. He asked to have the car be put on a lift to make sure there was nothing dangerous with the passport, after it was checked by a mechanic, they said it was safe to drive, the noise has become louder. I checked on Honda's website with my Vin, and nothing comes up on recall, however when I look with my model, year it says Rr Subframe bolt. I am hoping that Honda does not say they can't find anything wrong when I clearly hear the noise Honda's website is describing. I thought I inform NHTSA about this. I don't want to get into an accident or for that matter anyone else because of this issue.

The sunroof shattered without any impact issue, while we were driving down the road at approximately 65 MPH. If the sunshade had not been closed the driver and two passengers would have been showered in glass risking serious injury. The driver would have been challenged to maintain control risking serious injury to those in his vehicle and others on a busy highway. High Risk incident. I'm from Iowa and purchased the vehicle in Des Moines. The sunroof failed in just north of Greeley Colorado, and I had to have the repairs completed in Greeley, at the Honda dealer. The dealer claims that "glass is not a warranty item" unless I can prove a defect existed. Well, the sunroof essentially exploded and there's not much left to be able to prove the defect. My dealer in Des Moines would have supported a warranty claim. No one other than the Honda dealership in Greeley Colorado has inspected the damaged parts. There was absolutely no warning that the sunroof was about to fail catastrophically. We were driving at ~65 MPH in hot weather ~95 degrees, when a sudden heavy rain shower occurred, along with a corresponding sudden drop in temperature; 15-20 degrees, and we heard a very loud bang on the sunroof, like a baseball bat hitting the roof, and then we could hear glass shards on top of the sunshade. I pulled off the road and examined to sunroof to see that it was completely shattered or exploded. Fortunately, the rain stopped as suddenly as it started, and we located a Honda dealer in Gr

Auto stop / start system. When engaged and engine turns off like at a stop sign, once I press on accelator engine will ratttle, sputter and sometimes steering wheel will briefly lock or turn all before it comes back on completely and is ready to drive. This has happened several times to me. Has almost caused a crash after I attempted to pull onto a cross road in traffic. The system cannot be permantely deactivated.

My 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite has twice applied its brakes on its own, with no obstacle, vehicle, or hazard in front of me to justify braking. On July 13, 2026, at approximately 5:36 p.m., I was driving in evening traffic when the vehicle suddenly braked hard on its own. Nothing was in front of me. The car behind me nearly rear-ended me and had to brake sharply to avoid a collision, and the driver reacted with road rage. On July 16, 2026, at approximately 6:03 p.m., my young son was in the vehicle with me. While I was driving in traffic, the vehicle again braked on its own with no obstacle ahead. A sedan behind me nearly rear-ended me. This sudden, uncommanded braking happens without warning while I am driving in traffic and has nearly caused a rear-end collision on both occasions. It is terrifying and I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle, especially with my child. The same vehicle also has ongoing electrical and drive-power failures (loss of power while driving, repeated stalling in reverse, and complete no-start events) that I have reported separately. Three dealerships have been unable to identify or correct the problems. No crash has occurred yet, but only because the drivers behind me reacted in time. The vehicle is available for inspection.

The seat memory of the vehicle will reset itself every few days. This is while using the same key fob and driver profile. Android auto does not stay connected wired or wireless. This is after the vehicle has been factory reset, new cables used and phone reset. Buzzing/ grinding noise while breaking Blind spot sensors do not beep while the setting is activated to beep

The vehicles trouble screen on the dash summoned us to engine problems. Do not drive over 40 and notify your dealer immediately. We did so, Honda America sent a tow truck picked up the vehicle and sent it to the dealer. The next day the dealer contacted us and said they found excessive carbon on all the engine valves and all 6 cylinders were miss firing. The dealer gave us a loaner, after several phone conversations with the dealer and honda America they gave us the vehicle back. They walnut blasted the valves to clean the carbon and Honda America is investigating the issue. This vehicle is a 2026 passport with 24000 miles.

On July 11, 2026, while driving, the vehicle suddenly experienced multiple system failures. The dashboard illuminated with numerous warning lights, including a flashing check engine light, indicating multiple system malfunctions. The vehicle was towed to the dealer due to the severity of the issue. It is currently at the dealership for inspection and diagnosis. I have not yet received a diagnosis or confirmation of the failed component(s) from the dealer. No warning lights, messages, or symptoms appeared prior to the sudden failure. The abrupt illumination of multiple warning lights while driving created a significant safety concern regarding the reliability of critical vehicle systems.

My 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite (purchased new May 2025) has repeated, intermittent failures of the electrical system and drive-power (propulsion) function, beginning at ~16,700 miles. Severe symptoms first appeared in May 2026: multiple dashboard warning lights and error messages illuminating at once, and the instrument panel cutting in and out while driving. Sometimes a cascade of warnings precedes a failure; at other times the vehicle loses power or stalls with no warning at all. On July 4, 2026, the vehicle lost all drive power and shut down while I was driving ~75 mph on the highway, creating a substantial risk of a collision and of being struck by surrounding traffic. On four occasions (5/15/26, 5/22/26, 5/31/26, 7/9/26) it stalled immediately after being shifted into reverse. On multiple occasions it failed to start or had no electrical power, stranding me while traveling with my children. Additional failures: the driver's door intermittently will not lock or unlock, the exterior mirrors fail to fold and must be moved by hand, and the seat memory resets without input. Because the failures are intermittent, neither dealer could reproduce the condition on demand. The Waco, TX dealer (6/1/26) could not duplicate the concern and performed no repair. The Lufkin, TX dealer (6/8/26) said it could find nothing wrong, replaced the battery, and the failures continued unchanged. No specific failed component has been identified. I purchased a Honda Passport Trailsport Elite on 6/29/26. I had a 3 hr drive ahead of me. After driving approximate 8-10 miles, the seats became extremely uncomfortable to the point that I had to turn around and go back to the dealership. There was excessive pressure on my tailbone/coccyx and caused so much discomfort that I could no longer sit in the seat. It was impossible to get the seat to a comfortable and safe position while driving. The passenger seat was similar, but not as severe as the driver. Both driver and passenger are unable to sit in the seats for any length of time. When returning to the dealership they agreed that the seats felt very uncomfortable and understood why a person could not safely and comfortably drive any distance. Apparently the fan box for ventilated seats, are the cause of the excessive pressure on the tailbone/coccyx. The dealer fully agrees that the car could not be driven for any length of time with that defect. It would eventually cause a person to develop back issues from the pressure on the spine area. It is now 7/3/26 and my newly purchased car is still at the dealers lot. I tested 2 prior Passport Elites at 2 other dealers and neither had this issue. Apparently this is a huge issue with the new Passport Elite vehicles.

My passenger rear panel window just cracked out of nowhere. Nothing hit it, it just completely shattered.

The contact owns a 2026 Honda Passport. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel, there was a clicking sound like a loosened spring in the steering wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to diagnosed and the contact was informed that the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The steering wheel was replaced but the failure persisted. Additionally, the contact became aware that the brake pedal was making a clicking sound while depressed. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Weatherford Honda (851 Interstate 20 Frontage Rd Exit 406, Weatherford, TX 76087) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clock spring had failed and needed to be replaced. The clock spring and brake light switch were replaced, but the failures persisted. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, Red Rock Honda (748 N 1st St, Grand Junction, CO 81501); and it was diagnosed and determined that the clock spring and brake light switch needed to be replaced another time. The clock spring and the brake light switch were scheduled to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issues, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 1,200.

Our 2026 Honda Passport TSE suddenly stalled twice in active traffic intersections in Albuquerque, NM under acceleration and during a left turn, causing a sudden loss of motive power and a severe safety hazard and a potentially life threatening situation. Telemetry logs from an aftermarket GPS device installed in my vehicle captured a catastrophic voltage drop down to 10.886V during the incident, which electrically blinded the ECU and prevented the vehicle from storing a diagnostic trouble code. The vehicle was taken to Garcia Honda in Albuquerque, NM who documented the symptoms ('loss of power on accel,' 'hesitates and jerks') but released the vehicle unfixed because no digital codes were present. Windshield cracked and was replaced in early May 2026. Less than 3 weeks later, windshield has cracked again in exact same location. People on forum are starting to report same issues. I feel this is a design flaw in the windshield.

The contact added that several unknown warning lights appeared: an orange car with a speedometer underneath, an orange circle with an "I" in the middle, an orange circle with a vehicle in the middle, the forward collision light, and the master warning light. The contact also stated that "collision mitigation braking system problem, see dealer immediately" and "adaptive cruise control problem, see dealer" messages appeared. The vehicle was taken to a dealer twice. On the first occasion, the failure could not be replicated, and during the second visit, a diagnosis has yet to be provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

While driving on the freeway, somewhere between Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, the sunroof spontaneously exploded. Thankfully, the sunroof liner had been closed so no glass entered the cabin. Had the sunroof liner been opened, shattered glass would have sprayed the entire cabin, driver, and passenger.

I am writing to formally complain about the front seats in my 2026 Honda Passport TrailSport Elite. Specifically, the seat cooling/ventilation system appears to create significant discomfort and has caused persistent tailbone pain during normal driving. The issue seems related to the design and operation of the ventilated seats. When the seat cooling system is on, the seat surface becomes unusually firm and uncomfortable, especially in the tailbone and lower back area. Even during relatively short drives, I experience soreness and pressure that I have not experienced in previous vehicles, and I’ve owned a Honda Passport previously. This has become a serious comfort and usability concern. A premium vehicle should provide supportive seating, particularly on longer drives, and instead these seats are causing physical discomfort and pain. I purchased this vehicle expecting a high standard of comfort and ergonomics, especially given the trim level and price point. I would appreciate if Honda would: - Investigate whether this is a known issue with the ventilated seat system or seat cushioning design. - Provide guidance on possible repairs, adjustments, or replacement options. - Consider escalating this concern to engineering and product quality teams. The rear-view mirror detached from inside the holding area more people are reporting this problem with Hondas that the spring inside is too weak and disengages.

The driver's seat has a large bump in the back of it which causes long term pain while sitting in the seat. The passenger seat is too low and has no support so the passenger is extremely uncomfortable, even on short rides. An average person can barely see over the dashboard.

While passing at highway speeds under heavy acceleration, the transmission system on my 2026 Honda Passport with approximately 7,000 miles malfunctioned. Multiple warning messages appeared, including “Transmission system problem. Reverse gear not available. See your dealer,” “Transmission system problem. Avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. See your dealer,” “Transmission system problem. Paddle shifters not available. See your dealer,” and “Emissions system problem. Power may be reduced. See your dealer.” The vehicle then shifted into a middle gear and remained there, reducing normal drivability during a passing maneuver. I was able to pull over safely. After turning the vehicle off and back on, the warnings cleared temporarily, but the failure repeated multiple times. The safety concern is that the malfunction occurred during highway-speed passing and affected propulsion/gear availability. No crash or injury occurred. A Honda dealer pulled diagnostic codes P097F-17 and U3500-16 and stated that the TCM inside the transmission needed replacement. A second Honda dealer later reproduced the problem, consulted Honda technical support, and Honda approved replacement of the full transmission under warranty. The vehicle has been repaired and is available for inspection upon request. The failed transmission was replaced under warranty, so whether the original failed component remains available for inspection is UNKNOWN.

On 05/05/2026 I was driving my 2026 Honda Passport, while driving I suddenly had multiple warning lights display. The following alerts popped up on my dash, electric power steering problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, trailer assist system problem, collision mitigation system problem, hill descent system problem. Once these alerts popped up, I immediately took vehicle to dealership. While in route to dealership, all of the lights reset, and the dealer completed a diagnostic and informed me that they could not find any codes or issues. On 05/06/2026c I was driving this same vehicle, traveling approximately 40 mph. While traveling all of the same lights re-appeared and I lost all steering to the vehicle, I almost crashed the vehicle and was almost hit by other vehicles, while trying to slow the vehicle, due to not having any steering to the vehicle. I was able to get the vehicle to stop, and immediately had it towed to the dealership. This vehicle has approximately 4,632 miles. The dealership has not notified me what the issue is text but this vehicle is dangerous. If this issue is not resolved or a recall conducted for this issue, people are going to get seriously injured or killed. Currently I am employed as a deputy us marshal, and was a prior police officer for 12 years. My only reason in stating this, is I have bared witness to many fatality accidents in my years as a law enforcement officer, and quite frankly I do not feel comforta

The vehicle system keeps throwing code TT04 for a failed over-the-air update. The tech specialist indicated there is no current fix for the issue other than restarting the OTA system, disabling the auto-update function, and not checking for updates. This issue has been going on for over a year. I would like to bring attention to this annoying problem that other customers are experiencing as well.

Only 4200 miles and receiving TT04 error which appears, from social media, has been ignored by Honda or just no fix and any fix by the dealer would be temporary. Very disappointed, Honda has always been my car of choice. My dealer is not convenient to me, especially if I have to continuously return to them due to same issue, in which Honda has no answer for.

So when I turn the steering wheel to the left it sticks on the return to front position. I thought it was the safety features but I turned off everything I could and it still does it. It’s a little scary . I just brought the car if for an inspection to the dealer and they said everything was ok with the car . I noticed this more and more after the inspection. It happens all the time now .

Tailgate glass shattered spontaneously

The front seats on our new 2026 Honda Passport Elite are extremely uncomfortable. To the point of actually being painful. It feels like there is something towards the back of the seat where you sit that is bulging. It puts considerable discomfort and pain on the pelvic floor of an individual. You have to scoot your behind forward to get off this object to be able to stand it. Not a safe sitting position for driving. I have Googled 2026 Passport Elite uncomfortable seats and there are actually quite a few complaints about the uncomfortable seats. All the complaints describe the issue the same way. Users seem to think we are sitting on the fan box for the air conditioned seats. This is a new design for 2026, and seems Honda has a systematic engineering flaw that needs to be addressed. To the point of being a safety recall. Honda is a great company and I hope that this complaint as well as the complaint I made to Honda will get this painful, safety issue resolved.
