Part 66988 was diagnosed and confirmed starter motor not engaging replaced starter motor and verified repairs for 1062.11 dollars. I was stranded multiple times with the car not starting, as this problem was intermittent. we have a number of hondas, the starter never failed. I looked at your web site and there were many complaints about this problem. I contacted honda customer service and they refused to acknowledge that this is a known problem, and not subject to recall. I want to call your attention that many honda customers have lodged complaintes and a recall notice should be considered. thank you

The VSA/ABS module failed and is a costly repair that causes safety concerns. I see from research that this is a common issue among the 2014 Honda accords and a small number of 2014 Honda accords were recalled for this but not mine. The fact that so many are failing this recall should be expanded to include the other accords having the same issues.

The car has started just clicking when push button to crank it. It's getting worse day by day. I've had to set and just keep pushing button up to 30 min and it will eventually crank when it gets ready like nothing is wrong. I've googled it and seems every vehicle 2013-2017 is having the same bad starter problem around 40- 60,000 miles. There needs to be a recall because there's ppl already putting 4 and 5 starters on at this mileage and at $800 each it's ridiculous.

In 2020, there was a recall (#20V769) on the driveshaft of the 2014 Honda Accord. The car was in the Midwest for 4 years, so I was concerned that the issue with corrosion could directly impact the vehicle due to weather conditions. I went to have the recall serviced, but still noticed the car to be sluggish upon shifting in to gear. I reported the concern to the Honda dealer to see if it was repaired correctly and to understand why it took time for the car to "switch" in to gear. After review, they said nothing was wrong with the car. I continued to have these issues, however every time I went to the Honda service team to get an oil repair the diagnosis report did not show any issues with the transmission. There was a recommendation to get the transmission oil changed, which I did in March 2023. The car will still sluggish after this service. On July 25, 2024 the cars transmission/ drive power disengaged in the middle of a busy road. The car came to a complete stop while moving. The gear shaft failed to engage with the transmission. Prior to this no transmission warning had ever triggered, nor reported by Honda's diagnosis reports. I again stated my concern that the driver shaft may not have been repaired correctly to Honda. They instead faulted that the wrong transmission fluid caused " Transmission is burnt up causing issue of not moving. Tech found transmission has wrong fluid installed which caused internal wear and failure of transmission parts." This statement is false.

The lights could turn on starting the car in the morning or after driven for some time, for short period of time - 15 minutes to long period of time - 60 minutes. When these lights are on initially, a clank could be typically heard. When driven and slowed to around 10 MPH, the high-to-low whine could be heard. At low speeds, the car jerks on deaccelearation and acceleration. The car may be difficult to drive smoothly at low speeds. OBDII reader found no fault codes. Reports of other cars with simillar problem indicate issue with ABS module, wheel speed sensor, and/or battery.

ABS Module failure. Im sure this issue has been mentioned multiple times, but it is a known issue that the honda accord's (2014 range models) ABS module circuit board have improperly sized wires that are soldered on the circuit board. This can cause a lot of issues especially when driving in the snow and/or rain since the ABS system is faulty. I purchased this vehicle new, it has only 70,000 miles. Recently the dashboard lights lit up with a message that the forward collision warning system failed. I pulled over as soon as I could and began looking this up. First, I wanted to learn if it was safe to drive the car home or if I needed to have the car towed to a dealer. When I restarted the car thirty minutes later the warning lights were off. I got the car home and used an inexpensive OBD reader to check for codes, none showed up. Later I took the car to a mechanic and his professional scanner found codes 81-19 and 81-20. There are many stories on youtube about the VSA/ABS module failing.

I purchased this vehicle in January 2024. I've had to change the oils three times since then. This car is using an extreme amount of oil and it's not leaking anywhere. Today one month from my last oil change the car said it had a 30 percent oil life. I scheduled an appointment for this Tuesday but when my husband got home from work he said it sounded terrible. So this morning I get up and take it to my local Walmart for a full synthetic oil change and guess what? There was NO OIL in the car. 30 days after the last oil change and there is absolutely no oil in this car. Where is it going? After reading several sites I see this is a VERY common problem in this model year. The car hasn't even been driven 3000 miles in a month and it's out of oil? What am I suppose to do?

There is known issue with the ABS Modulator with this gen Honda Accord. I believe the affected years are 2013-2017. The selenoid for the ABS module goes bad and the light in the attached photo comes on. Basically, the soldering for the tinny modulator wires comes off. Honda sells the at for $2300 These was a class action for the similar issue in Thailand and Honda had to repair all the affected vehicles at no charge. The ABS, VSA, EPS, and the parking brake systems began to appear on my dashboard. After diagnostics, it appeared that the VSA modulator was failing to provide all these components that are needed for safety in all driving conditions. After doing some research, I came to know that the modulator failure is very common in the Honda Accord models from year 2010 and above. Yet, Honda has yet to recall vehicles for this issue that affects the brake and steering systems. So far, the lights continuously appear and disappear. However, there is a huge difference when the intermittent lights appear. The car swerves too easily on rainy days when running through a puddle on the street. Even on windy days, sometimes it cannot handle when I am driving against the wind. The car's steering system feels too vulnerable and sensitive when these lights are on given that I have none of that systems providing the extra safety components. I fear that one day when I have to brake suddenly to prevent I crash, I will lose control instead and cause a fatal accident. The part is too expensive and total costs can reach up to $3,000 or more, and like everyone else who has reported this issue. I cannot afford to repair it as of now, but will need to be on a day where the financials can support the repair.

In July 2023 after having brake pads and rotors replaced at the Honda dealership, several dashboard lights went on: LDW/FCW, traction control, steering, and ABS lights came on. After a diagnostic test at the dealership, they wanted over $2600 for parts and labor for a new ABS module. However, this part is “on backorder” with NO ETA. We spent less than $700 to have a mechanic remove the current ABS module, send it to CA to a place we found on eBay that repairs them, and have the mechanic replace it after bleeding the brake lines and replacing the brake fluid. This is a KNOWN issue (see Reddit, YouTube, these complaints, mechanics…even the dealership) on a part that should last the lifetime of the car. I expected more from Honda.

Power steering, and ABS light flash on at random. The vehicle sometimes veers off and steering is frequently very very loose or very very tight. Also, there is a whining that never stops when I turn the wheel all the way to the left or right, the vehicle almost shut off and the entire dash and radio shut off and back on. When I am at a stop or cars at idle everything will dim and car. Sounds like it’s almost going to die and then back to normal had looked at and they couldn’t find any noticeable issues.

Safety risks: reduced safety due to skidding, reduced steering control during braking, accelerated tire wear, tire deformation, increased breaking distance, wrong brake force distribution, error codes on dash, and decreased function of other systems that rely on ABS. There was a sudden loss of all control of the vehicle for a few seconds, i.e., no steering/braking etc. and swerved; it could have easily caused an accident if there were any cars in the next lane. When control came back, pulled to a left turning lane and stopped. After a couple minutes, started driving again slowly and with fear. There were/are no warning lamps/messages/symbols prior to or after this happened.

1. Im experiencing an ABS module failure (Honda calls it VSA module). 2. When the system messed up it causes my traction control and anti-lock brakes to turn off. 3. The problem has been reproduced as it keeps randomly turning all of the systems on and off randomly, multiple times during a single drive. 4. It has not been inspected by any of the people listed. 5. Nothing prior to the failure just all of a sudden my dashboard indicated that my electronic steering system, ABS, forward collision warning system, lane departure warning system, and tire pressure monitoring system all shut down. When the codes were read it all leads back to a failure in the ABS/VSA module. Reading articles online has shown me others that have had this issue has made me realize this is a very large number of vehicles affected and could cause great bodily harm or death to occupants or others on the roadway. Attached in the photo section i have supplied pictures of the codes currently on the vehicles computer. I have cleared the codes and the failure immediately came back and all safety systems turned back off.
