The vehicle has less than 12,000 miles. Vehicle repeatedly entered "deep sleep" mode, disabling vehicle remote features and lights inside of vehicle. Took to dealership multiple times. Battery test showed sulfation and can no longer function as designed. Factory 12v battery replaced and software update completed yet still experiencing the same “deep sleep” mode.
While traveling at speed there was a severe malfunction of the vehicle's stereo system. While driving the stereo was initially silent but later began to produce extremely loud noise/static. The volume of the noise was so extreme I had to take my hands off the steering wheel to cover my ears. The stereo did not respond to any power or volume input to stop the sound and I was forced to quickly pull over to the side of the road to turn off and exit the vehicle. The sound only stopped after exiting the vehicle and locking with the key fob. There were no warning signals prior to this failure. I have experienced this problem several times in the past while the vehicle was parked, when first starting the vehicle. This was the first instance of experiencing the problem while driving, within the first 1 minute after starting the vehicle. The stereo was initially on and set to a reasonable volume level, but was malfunctioning and completely silent. After driving for ~45 seconds the stereo began producing this extremely loud noise. I have found several reports of similar stereo issues with the Ford Maverick and also F150 trucks that are equipped with a similar B&O sound system. This malfunction could potentially lead to an extremely dangerous situation, inability to safely operate the vehicle, and loss of situational awareness. I have dash cam footage of the incident, which I can provide upon request.
The front of the vehicle started shaking with acceleration. This shaking became worse and vehicle was unsafe to drive. The vehicle was brought to ford dealership and they will be replacing the front half shafts and brackets.
Total 12v battery drain/failure which is a known problem with the Ford Maverick Hybrid, could not even put hazards on to avoid getting hit on the side of the road. Ford tests battery and says battery is good, but the problem is the Maverick Hybrid is not adequately charging the battery when it is driven.
On Tuesday, [XXX], my wife and I were driving her, new to her, 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT, that we purchased from Stuckey Ford in Bellefonte, PA on [XXX]. She was behind the wheel. We were heading west on [XXX] and had just passed into Pennsylvania by crossing the Delaware River. The check engine light and battery lights went on suddenly & we immediately lost power. The power steering was no longer working, but the brakes were. As we were in the passing lane going 65 mph & there was an 18-wheeler in the right lane, we could not cross two lanes to reach the Matamoras exit ramp. She steered into the median between lanes to our left. The Maverick would not start. We were about 6" off the left hand white line of the west bound passing lane. I called 911 who sent a PA State Trooper to park behind us with his flashers on. We were towed off the [XXX] exit ramp to a garage. We tried to start the truck five times, it would not start. The sixth time it did start but when the tow truck operator tried it, the truck only started intermittently. We called the nearest Ford Dealer, Healy in Goshen, NY. We were towed to Healy the same afternoon. They said their diagnostics could find no problems. Their invoice is attached. Since the event on [XXX], the Maverick has not turned on when the key is turned & brake pedal depressed multiple times. When this happens the same two lights (check engine & battery) stay on. I own a 2023 Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid. I am having issues with the 12v battery. The battery drains unexpectedly making the truck go into Battery Saver Mode. I already took it to the Ford de leadership where it received a new 12v battery. Couple of months go by and now the replacement battery is having the same issue.
On acceleration from a stand still or in motion, the vehicle will start to shake/wobble pretty violently. It will go away when letting go of the gas. Seems to be coming from the front end wheels. Going under the car and checking all connecting points, the CV axle has a lot of play. You can move it around.
I was traveling in heavy traffic on [XXX] I was coming to a stop light so I tapped the brakes nothing there I had a choice hit the guy in front of me or go to the driveway to the right and I chose the driveway on the yard hit the e brake to prevent going into the building…the dealer Sanderson ford found the whole braking system imploded there repair is to put the same product back on..I’m worried the same thing will happen again both myself and the person in front of me could have at minimum been seriously injured this repair scares me…the abs and collision control lights came on as well as the brake light…there was 8000 miles on this vehicle INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
While traveling 80 MPH using cruise control, the vehicle speed suddenly reduced and several warning lights illuminated. The three warnings were Pre-Collision Assist Not Available, Service Engine Soon Warning, and Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power. The accelerator pedal did not work but I was able to coast to the nearest exit. I stopped, turned the vehicle off and back on a few times but the warning lights would come back on. When I shifted the transmission into Drive the vehicle would take off on its own. I drove the remaining 30 miles just letting the vehicle accelerate on its own because the pedal did not work. It wouldn't accelerate over 35 MPH. The vehicle would still pull when I applied the brakes. Once home, I turned the vehicle off for an hour. When I turned it on the warning lights no longer illuminated and the vehicle drove normal.
2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT lost all engine power at highway speed in the left lane of [XXX] . Red Warning Triangle with notice to pull over and Check Engine light with codes P0811, P0E71 and P1920. Truck then went completely dead, no electrical indication on the instrument panel and would not start. I towed it to the dealer and they said they reset and reloaded software on the PCM and BCM, but no explanation of what caused the issue to occur. Very unsafe for everyone if these hybrid vehicles can just go dead like this with no warning and no prior issues. I was feeling a shaking throughout while driving. I took it into the dealership to have it looked at as it is a fairly new vehicle with less than 25k miles on it. They informed me that both of the CV Axles had gone out and were replaced. I was so shocked as those are supposed to last a fairly long time on a vehicle. I researched and it appears several Maverick owners have experienced the same thing, with some stating they be gone out twice before 34k miles and some as early as 10k miles. When I asked if it was a good thing I brought it in, the advisor told me absolutely it was as it is a huge safety issue if left unfixed. There were no warning lights for it nor any recall for it. I most certainly believe there needs to be something done about this.
Brakes are very "grabby" and lurchy at low speeds. sometimes it starts to shudder

On [XXX], I was involved in a backing accident that was significantly caused by the subject of this recall (Manufacturer Recall Number24S59, NHTSA Recall Number24V684). When I put my vehicle in reverse, the rear view camera came on. However, what I didn't realize was that the image displayed on it froze shortly after the camera turned on making it appear that it was clear behind me and safe to back. But another vehicle had pulled off of the street and stopped right behind me immediately after I put it in reverse and was looking at the frozen image that it was clear and safe to back. The car behind me was shorter than my vehicle and had pulled in behind me in the drive-thru line at somewhat of an angle, so only the front of their vehicle was directly behind me and the rest of out of view of my rear view mirror. I was trying to back, because the drive-thru was two lanes and the right lane I was in was backed up due to a delay and an employee was waving me to come to the left lane since it was open and available. Because the other customer had just pulled in behind my vehicle from the street while my rear view camera was displaying a frozen image of when it was clear behind my vehicle, when I backed slowly, my rear bumper cracked the other car's front bumper. Because of Ford's safety issue, I have incurred an expensive liability claim for damages to the other party's vehicle. Claim details: Claim #: [XXX] ($3,563.81 in repairs + $581.06 rental car = $4144.87 total) StateFarmClai
I had the recall work done for the back up camera that freezes while I am reversing. After the recall has been completed, it still freezes/glitches while I'm backing up. Nothing changed after they performed the recall work. I do believe that the technician performed the work he was told to, but it hasn't accomplished anything. The rear view camera still takes a few seconds to engage once I put the car in reverse, and while I am in reverse, actively backing up the car, the camera feed freezes repeatedly on-screen.
12 volt battery does not recharge properly. Vehicle is always in deep sleep mode.
Since new in Sept 2023 this vehicle has suffered from consistent charging problems with the 12 volt battery, it sends "deep sleep" warnings to the Ford App and disables certain safety features. Charging the battery only restores functionality temporarily, driving the car ends up depleting the 12 volt battery over time. It affects all Ford Maverick Hybrids including mine.

I was driving normally at speed. The truck suddenly lost power. The gas pedal was unresponsive. It took a moment to realize what had happened since the truck showed no indication of an issue. No warnings showed on the dash, the radio was playing as normal. Pressing the gas pedal did nothing. Brakes worked. I was on a road where was I luckily was able to coast into a parking lot and stop safely. I shut off the vehicle and immediately turned it back on. Everything started normally and the vehicle drove normally from that point.

I am experiencing a serious safety issue with my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid, which involves powertrain malfunction and sudden loss of power while driving. The issue first appeared on [XXX], when I received a Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power warning in the FordPass app and noticed that the vehicle was losing power intermittently. Since then, I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times for diagnostics and repairs, but the issue persists. Service history and failed repair attempts: [XXX] – I visited Folsom Lake Ford to address this issue, but the dealer claimed the vehicle was “operating normally.” [XXX] – I took my car to Future Ford of Sacramento, requesting diagnostics and repairs for the transmission. The dealership replaced the CV axles but did not acknowledge or resolve the powertrain issue. [XXX] – The same error occurred again, and I returned to Future Ford of Sacramento. The dealer once again failed to find or fix the problem. [XXX] – Hours after picking up the car, the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power error reappeared in FordPass. Possible Link to Known Ford Maverick Issues: Ford has already issued recalls for similar problems affecting Ford Maverick (2022–2023) and Bronco Sport models related to 12V battery failures that cause power loss. However, my VIN is not included in any official recall, despite showing the same symptoms. This issue is extremely dangerous, as the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while driving, creating a serious risk of an a
When having the vehicle in reverse, the rear-camera’s image oftentimes freezes for several moments which causes unreal expectations of what is actually in the rear and how close objects actually are. This has caused fear to my wife, and she prefers not to drive the vehicle in part due to this unresolved issue.

This morning while driving to work, I lost acceleration power. I was driving to work at the speed limit of 65 mph. The car started to slow down and I could not get any acceleration when stepping on the gas pedal. I was very lucky that traffic was light and able to coast over to a shoulder of the highway. I called roadside assistance and had it towed to local dealer. Awaiting to hear what the problem is. Feel very uncomfortable at this point.
Rear view camera continues to freeze and produce inaccurate pictures. Dealership advised that Ford Engineering has no remedy for this yet, and this is now on going for 6 months. Recall was made, but with no remedy available.
When I start my truck, a very loud, piercing noise comes out of the speakers. The has happened 2 times over appx 2 years. The info screen on the dash freezes up. It can only be stop by turning the ignition off.
Cracked seam on the crossmember supporting the driver seat. While investigating a squeaking seat. I discovered a hairline crack in the metal that is under the cloth driver seat. Upon further investigation, I discovered that when pressure is applied to the seat, a bigger crack appears where a cross member is joined under the seat. This is causing the seat to flex more than usual putting more friction on the plastic mounts causing the squeaking sound.
The truck shutter when accelerating. The truck currently has 39,000 miles. It seems like it’s a suspension problem.
The 12 volt battery keeps dying something keeps draining the battery down I've ha this vehicle to the dealership several times and I'am still having problems
Vehicle continuously goes into battery saver mode. The battery appears to be undersized for the electrical needs. This could leave the driver stranded and disables all interior lighting,, locks and windows which poses a safety hazard.
Started Vehicle, pulled out of a parking spot and I slowly approached an intersection, the engine accelerated at a high rpm/rate without touching the gas pedal, I immediately firmly applied brakes, the card was jerking and shaking hard working against brakes, I immediately turned car off. It could have easily ran into a car or person, being that I was on a city street with pedestrians crossing and car traffic. When I restarted, it did not want to move at all. I then restarted it a second time and it drove normal. No lights or warnings appeared. It was at Ford dealer getting all recalls repaired about 2 weeks ago and were completed to my knowledge. This just happened today [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Last visit was 1/13/25. I am having constant 12 volt battery issues. I have been to Autonation Ford in Memphis 3 times. They take the battery out of my truck put it on a machine and charge it and tell me my bettery is fine every time. My truck will start and run fine for 2 or 3 weeks then i will have starting issues or battery saver issues. I cannot safely leave my house without a jumpstarter because this bad battery is in my truck.

The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated the check warning engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve sensor had failed. The sensor inside the valve failed due to condensation getting into the valve and short-circuiting the sensor. The EGR valve sensor had been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000.
Possibly software. Vehicle door latch will not release on any of 4 doors. Tried fob and manual key. I am locked out of vehicle. A serious safety issue would arise if I were locked in the vehicle, especially in an accident.
The CV axles have failed and cause my truck to shaking when accelerating.
Car was shuddering and vibrating on acceleration brought to dealership and was told I needed front axles with 16k on odometer . It took over a month to get parts and the dealership was kind enough to give me a car while Parts came in. These new parts are Likely also faulty as the vibrations are starting again under acceleration .The car now has 29k I will be bringing the car in again soon for other recalls and repair but this shouldn’t be happening . Heaven knows what other damage is being done . We need a part redesign and a recall asap . Thanks
The 12 volt battery keeps going dead or puts the car in to sleep mode. Ive been to the dealers 7 times and they have replaced the battery twice . I only have 14000 miles on it. this has been going on for most of the time i have had it. there is no safety issue at this time, it just wont start.
The 12v battery keeps draining when the vehicle is not in use. It goes into “Deep Sleep” mode. Every time it goes into deep sleep mode I have to jump start it. I’ve taken it to the dealership and had the battery replaced just to have to go into deep sleep mode a three days later.j
CV axles both going bad at 50,000 miles
While driving down US-69, while attempting to pass a vehicle at about 80 mph, the vehicle shut off and proceeded to stop accelerating, as well as started to slow itself down. The instrument cluster flashed quickly before shutting off, and the radio also shut off. The cabin lights came on, and I had to switch to the right lane to quickly get onto the side of the road where it gradually slowed itself down and threw itself into park. I had taken the key out, and simply turned it back on, and everything seemed to work as normal after the fact. There were no indicators that this would happen, it was sudden and almost caused me to get rear ended by a semi truck.
Rear window driver side passenger failed and won’t go up or down bad regulator Transmission failure needs replaced at 1 year old Rear camera frozen no remedy on recall Engine failure during acceleration shifts to neutral then shifts to acceleration Engine acceleration at slow stops jerks forward during breaking Tires 1 year old under 25k miles no tread and needs replaced already Display shuts off randomly and stays frozen
The truck is a hybrid and has just 12,000 miles on it. Water is leaking inside the cab on the passenger side and has created mold in the carpet and padding. It has now been at the dealers going on 4 weeks and they say they are having a hard time finding where it is leaking in from. I have seen several other posts about it being the window or A/C fresh air intake.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
