I was having issues with this vehicle sputtering a bit and the antifreeze was seeming to be disappearing. There were no visible leaks. I took it to the shop to have it looked at. The engine light was on and there was a code for a cylinder 3 misfire. Th mechanic diagnosed the vehicle and, upon removing the spark plugs, noticed they were fouled with what he said was antifreeze in the cylinder (because of the white substance on the electrode end). I saw where there is a recall for the particular engine block that is in this vehicle from 2014 to 2020. When I notified Ford and the NHTSA I was told that my VIN number was not included in the recall. I am confused because I would think that the recall would be for vehicles with this particular block not specific VIN numbers. Please help! I just got this car hoping for a reliable vehicle. I am a grad student and I do not have the funds for such a big repair.

Vehicle flexplate broke causing loss of power in rush hour traffic. Luckily was able to get to the side of the road without major incident or causing an accident. Broken flexplate also caused damage to transmission and ptu. Was informed this is a common issue wiith this yeat make and model but ford refuses to do anything about it. They would rather wait for some peopke to lose their life befor takiing responsibility. But who cares about peoples lives when you have stockholders to pay and ceo bonuses to hand out. Feel its worth mentioning i had the car at the dealership a couple times for other issues and had asked them about problems i suspected were precursors to this happening. They denied there was even an issue. They they told me the noises were normal and refused to even document my concerns let alone actually physically check the vehicle. I believe they were intentionally trying to hide the fact they knew exactly what was going on. Ford needs to take responsibility but since they wont you guys need to make them.

A third party hacked my CPU/Transmission Control System causing malfunction with the engine. The engine randomly would cut off during traffic, and I would need to press gas directly after starting the vehicle to go. My vehicle was fairly new and transmission module should not be ineffective after purchasing my vehicle last July 2023 with less than 80K miles. The notification that makes the vehicle stay in the lane would malfunction randomly notifying me of failure to sensor active crash alert. I also have inability to connect to Ford vehicle app with no reason provided to cut off WiFi connectivity. Please review external IP as I can hear communication of third party observing my way of driving and communication while attempting to drive causing distraction affecting safety of myself, my location placement, and health of the car. Possible CPU/transmission/AC connectivity from July 2023 to Malfunction of vehicle starting 10/2024.

I bought the 2014 Fusion in 2019 used. It had roughly 60 some thousand miles. I had to replace the motor at 94 thousand miles. Now at 131 thousand miles, I am faced with the same issue and need to replace the motor again after only 37 thousand miles. From what the dealer said (Copper Country Ford in Houghton Michigan) both issues have been coolant leaking into the cylinders and killing the motor. The first motor was around $4500.00 and now it is roughly the same $4500.00. So $9000.00 in 4 years!!!!! I called Fo Mo Co and they will do nothing to help. They say there is no recall and or order from NHTSA about this issue. Nor do they have any other programs to help resolve this issue or help pay for the repair. Since around 2020 / 2021 the vehicle rear-view camera has been malfunctioning. The screen can go blank or show an error message intermittently while in use, often moments after the vehicle starts to move, making continued immediate movement dangerous for the driver or pedistrians. The video feed sometimes works, sometimes shows an error message to contact the dealer. Sometimes the feed flashes back and forth intermittently working and showing a black sreen, every few seconds. Sometimes the video feed is flipped horizontally, showing the usually left side of the video on the right and vice-a-versa. This particular failure caused vertigo and was extremely hard to ignore, making it difficult to continue parking the car. I contacted the dealership and was told an approximate $1300 was required to fix the intermittent camera functioning, when it had worked for 8 years and was still intermittently working - it would seem a software problem introduced by an firmware update, if I was to assess the situation. no police report was filed, confirming. I called my local dealership more recently and asked about fixing it under relation to one of the many Ford truck related backup camera recalls and somehow my camera / car are not part of the recall, so I was instructed to contact the nhtsa to have my complaint added. I suspect because it is a lower volume car, the exact model is liikey not to show many vehciles with this problem. The corporate Ford customer service rep was very nice, but u

Backup camera operates intermittently in when in reverse, coming on for about 10 seconds before cutting or not coming on at all, which causes near misses when backing up. Also, camera periodically remains on for 10-15 seconds once shifting into drive which is distracting when pulling into traffic and causes near misses. Furthermore, the camera sometimes activates for 10-15 seconds when shifted into drive from park, again very distracting when pulling into traffic. Problem has persisted for at least 5 years, most recent incident today. Service consultant at two different Ford dealers denied knowledge of this problem.

We are the owners of a 2014 Ford Fusion model vehicle. We took this vehicle to a local Ford service dealer to have the tires rotated. Dealer service manager told us they could not do the tire rotate because the chrome plating on the wheel lug nuts had swollen and their wrench would not fit the lug nuts. The offered non OEM replacement lugs nuts for our cost of $134.95 plus tax. I believe this is a safety issue as we could be stranded along any roadway should we have a flat tire needing us to use our spare, and unable to remove the flat tire. Our vehicle has a total of about 60,813 miles shown on the odometer. Apparently this swollen lug nut issue is a known problem with this vehicle? Can you help us resolve this?

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
