The transmission has is constantly slipping in an out of gear along with hard shifts that could potentially cause whiplash with how hard the gears shift and grab. Also truck slips in and out of gear when going on an incline resulting in vehicle no longer able to move and started to row backwards even though the truck said it was in 3rd gear. These transmission issues seem very prevalent with the 10r80 ford 10 speed transmissions. I also experienced a situation where the truck went into a limp mode and had no power and almost lost all ability to steer and stop the truck due to the transmission issue.

Rear window exploded. No impact. Remote started my truck, cold out so rear defrost was on from the remote start. Go in truck shut the door and before I could press the start button (it was running from the remote start but still have to press the start button) the rear window exploded shattering everywhere except for the power slider. After some internet research, this appears to be a common problem with F-150's which Ford refuses to acknowledge.

I own a 2019 Ford Raptor with 62,000 miles. At 27,000 I had warranty cam phasers replaced under warranty. I just had same issue come up again at 62,000 miles and ford dealership mak haik in Jackson Ms is saying it’s not warranty because I didn’t bring truck in for an update that I knew nothing about. My extended warranty CNA National has turned my claim down also because they followed my dealerships decision. The cam phasers on f150 eco boost are a bad problem for this truck and it should be a recall and definitely fixed at no cost to customers. I’m without a ride as of now and I owe 4 more years on this truck. They are expecting me to pay 3,800 to fix it while others that noticed a letter are repaired. This is not right!!!

Service Brakes
Filed Dec 1, 2022WA

I was driving approximately 35mph. I braked hard enough to slow down to avoid hitting a car that blew through an intersection. That's when my brakes became soft, and the brake pedal went all the way to the floor. The truck had limited braking at that point. I was able to continue driving for a bit. The brakes would initially have some braking power when I first apply the brake, but within seconds the brake pedal would go all the way to the floor again. After braking several more times, the low brake fluid message came on. I opened the hood, and you can see fluid has leaked on the passenger side near the firewall.

Numerous transmission problems of slipping and hard shifting, then stuck in lower gear, can not upshift to higher gears. Have taken for warranty service 3 times now. 1st time caused me to be stranded in remote desert area on one of hottest days of year with wife and child in car with no tow because of COVID/passenger restrictions. Issue is intermittent not constant. But once issue begins it doesn't not go away until taken in for service. Not safe to be driving on road with these issues.

The truck skips gears when speeding up causing the vehicle to stall and then slam into gear creating a whiplash affect. This is particularly dangerous when trying to pull on to a road with oncoming traffic as the vehicle stalls before getting into gear which could result in a wreck. While decreasing speed the vehicle skips gears again creating a loud clunking noise, as if the transmission is going to fall out of the bottom of the truck and jolts the passenger.

This vehicle's transmission has been discussed over the last few years referencing its "harsh shifting" and seems to not work correctly. Specifically in gears 2-5, the vehicle fails to shift properly which then doesnt allow the vehicle to move appropriately. We have incidents where the vehicle will shut off suddenly asking for us to turn off and turn on the vehicle. Our safety is in harms way each time the vehicle fails to shift properly and Ford fails to remedy the transmission (10R80)

Just purchased the truck less than a month ago, with 32k miles on it. On a trip to PA. The vehicles transmission started to shift hard and not downshift at all, and or shift into neutral. I made it to a cord dealership and had to leave it sit a week for repairs. Upon picking it up I was told that the model transmissions have a known issue and there isnt a fix, all they could do was drain the fluid and reprogram the computer. I drove approx 200 miles and lost the same functions in the transmission.

10 Speed transmission makes loud clunking noises when shifting. Also some times when you start vehicle is make a Loud bang. Dealer knows there is a problem but acts like nothing is wrong because they do not have a fix. Tried to reprogram tranny but does the same. I have complained everytime I go in for a oil change. I don’t think they have any qualified techs to try and resolve the problem. If you read on line several people are experiencing the same problem.

I purchased a 2019 Ford F150 2.7l Ecoboost with 10speed transmission in May 2022 and it only had 19,000 miles on it. When I first bought it, it seemed to drive fine, but less than 3000 miles later the gears started shifting really hard, especially 3rd through 5th gear. I took it to my local dealer and they reset the PCM module and said to drive it because it has an adaptive transmission that it would have to relearn driving habits. Well, shortly after I was on the interstate doing 75mph on cruise control in 10th gear, the truck shifted all the way down to 1st gear, went to limp mode, then revved rpms and went back to 8th gear then wrench came on the dash light. This truly could've been a bad situation and possible accident if I wasn't able to get over to safety lane. I took it to the dealer the next week and they reset the computer again and cleaned valve body. The vehicle still has hard shifts between 3rd and 5th gears, although not quiet as harsh. Ford needs to issue a recall on the 2019 Ford F150s with the 10r80 transmissions or figure it out soon. I'm afraid there is going to be a serious accident, if one hasn't happened already, if these transmissions are not fixed soon. Several states already have class action lawsuits about this particular transmission.

The vehicle has a 10 speed transmission which is designed to skip gears in a smooth fashion while accelerating. The transmission has been "chirping" when shifting from 1st to 3rd and very hard shifting from 3rd to 4th or 5th gear and also from 6th to 7th gear. Now the transmission is often not engaging and slipping out of gear when shifting out of 3rd and into 4th/5th and simply disengaging and going into a neutral state. This causes the vehicle to lose power and it will not accelerate. This is a very dangerous situation especially when attempting to merge onto the highway, turning left or any time traffic is behind me and the transmission disengages. This has occured on three separate occasions from 9/12/22 to 9/16/22. I have attempted to have the vehicle inspected by a Ford dealer and the earliest appointment is Jan 3rd 2023!! Another Ford dealer stated I could drop off the vehicle and the diagnostics check would take 3-5 days and they do not provide a loaner vehicle. There were no warning lamps or messages prior to or during the transmission slipping out of gear.

I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 from AutoNation Ford in Panama City, Florida in 2020, along with a bumper-to-bumper warranty through The Ford Motor Company, covering the car until 140,000 miles. Over the last 20 months my truck has been back to AutoNation at least 5 times for various mechanical issues. To their credit, each time the Service Department was eventually able to resolve each issue. During this week's 4.5 hour visit to the Service Center I was informed that my engine is faulty (Google "F150 oil consumption problem") and needs to be replaced; it survived less than 80,000 miles. Replacing an engine is a hassle, but I have a warranty and Ford is a trustworthy American company that makes America proud. Unfortunately, I was told that Ford is not allowing any existing customers to get on a list for replacing my particular engine (5.0L V8). Ok, but I have a warranty through Ford . That has to be worth something, because it cost me +$3,000, and Ford sticks by its products and their commitments/promises can be believed and they told me it covers a rental car if there is ever anything that takes more than a day to fix on my truck. Surprise, the warranty apparently only provides a rental car for a maximum of 5 days, and I could be waiting for 12 months or longer. No offer of loaner, a way to expedite the repair, someone to call, any kind of help…just, “sorry, we’ll let you know if Ford starts letting people back on the list, until then, you’re on your own.” The options provided

Filed Sep 8, 2022GA

While driving I noticed my wife's seat belt was not fastened, and there was no alarm chime or icon on dash alerting of incident. I then undid the drivers side and had the same results. I had been having issues with the ac leaking on inside at passenger floor. I took the truck to five star ford dealership for repairs. The ac evaporator and carpet was replaced. They said they issue with the seatbelts was not repairable unless a code was thrown. I was told it wouldn't cause any issues with air bags, but I'm not comfortable with that. The dealership said they would contact Ford and see if there was anything that could be done. After AC issues that has been ongoing several times now I believe moisture got somewhere it shouldn't have. I kept telling them what if a child was in seat and undid seatbelt and then an accident occurred. They said the airbags should still work. I dont trust that. This could be a very serious issue. I was told I could buy a new truck. I can't afford to buy a new truck every couple of years on retirement. The dealership said they believe the issue is in one of four modules but Ford will not authorize them to just start replacing modules without error codes being thrown.

I've been dealing with a vibration/shaking in my factory driver side mirror at high speeds and on bumpy roads since I got my truck in May 2019 (over three years). No issue on the passenger side. I've dealt with it off and on with the dealer as time and life have allowed. Currently I'm on my fourth mirror and have a case manager from Ford corporate. I have attached some of my correspondence with them for your reference. My problem is that the driver side shaking is very bad. It's distracting at high speeds and at night when headlights are shining behind you, it can be like a light show in the corner of your eye while driving. After much trial and error, I believe the vibration is coming from the articulation point between where the arm that comes off the truck connects with the arm that supports the mirror. Where it folds in basically. There isn't anything that can be adjusted, that particular area is all enclosed. I'm on my second dealer after the first claimed the mirror was fine. I took the truck for a drive with the foreman at the new dealer who confirmed he could see the issue. They ordered me a new mirror again and after installing it sure enough the new one shakes just like the prior ones have. The dealer said they had a regional service tech from Ford drive it after the new mirror went on and this person told them the shaking was normal. There is a defect in design of this vehicle. When using the Air Conditioning the passenger side floor gets extremely wet from the evaporator core drain. This is due to the drain being to short, and gets the sound protective sponge rubber soaking wet. What happens is this sponge gets wet and pours into the passenger floor area of the vehicle. It was only noticed after I took ownership from my father. The floor carpet backing and carpet have a mold issue now which is a health issue. What needs to happen is the drain needs an extension to get past where it dumps out now. This will solve the issue.

I have a 2019 Ford F150 with a 5.0 liter motor with approx 42k miles. I maintain my vehicles and I check my oil in between oil changes. It is always low and I do not have any oils leaks. I discussed it with the service advisor at Bo Beukman Ford and the service advisor told me it is normal for oil consumption in between oil changes???? Maybe on a 10 year old truck, but not a 2-3 year old truck! I recently googled this issue and found TSB 19-2365 and I discussed it with my service advisor and they told me I could bring it in and they would check it, but TSB would be at my cost! Seriously? After my last oil change, I took pics of the dipstick a couple days after the service was completed that I can send you. What if people think the oil is low and add 2-3 quarts to bring it up, all because their engineers designed it with a short dipstick? That is ridiculous. This should be a recall.

At 30k miles the center of the steering wheel (plastic where Ford emblem is which houses the driver airbag) completely opened up horizontally along the perforation where the airbag deploys in the event of an accident exposing the airbag underneath. If you honk the horn your palm depresses into the cavity where the airbag is. Ford fixed this under bumper to bumper warranty which ends at 36k miles. Now at 50k miles the plastic has opened up completely once again, only this time horizontally along the right side perforations on the same plastic cover through which the airbag deploys in the event of an accident. As before, depressing the center of the steering whee to honk the horn causes your palm to go through the perforation and press against the airbag. The cover cannot be replaced on its own and comes as a single unit attached to the airbag known to Ford by part name “Driver Inflator Module”. Initial response from dealer was it is cosmetic and not covered however I contacted Ford who advised that the part is covered under the 60k mile Airbag Safety Restraint Warranty. Dealer disagrees even after I presented him with the NHTSA ID 10207126 communication where Ford acknowledges the issue and advised a more “robust” airbag assembly has been released.
