Wiper arm fails to operate due to the index splines not holding up and failing prematurely. Part did not include a shear pin to prevent issue from arrising. Ford has a recall on the part but is not including all vehicles that have this part. (Info confirmed by service/parts managers and Ford customer support) Ford is also canceling any and all orders with that part number and refusing to supply that part.

This vehicle has a 2.7 eco boost engine that is junk. It has been at Summit Ford from March 8, 2022 and is still there as of 6-17-2022. The vehicle has had to be taken back 2 times within this time frame. The motor looses compression on cylinder 5 which we have dumped 781.43 out of pocket and extended warranty has paid 1028.00. The last time I picked it up from the dealership I got 20 miles and it loss compression. I turned back and took it to the dealership. I told them it did the same thing. Since returning it we now find out it loss compression in cylinder 5 and now needs a new motor. The vehicle has 78168 miles, all highway miles. Ford has agreed to pay $5,000 towards engine and remaining balance is owed by us. Ford has issues with this 2.7. A 2016 f150 has been in the shop several times, mine has also and the ford broncos coming out of production doesn’t even make it 1000 miles and looses compression. In order to get my vehicle to drive and get the wrench light to come off, we would have to pull over, turn vehicle off, turn it back on and continue driving until the next time it loss compression. This is a safety hazard as you loose compression it could cause the vehicles behind you to hit you or if you needed to pull off to the side of the road, loosing compression could cause you to get hit causing accidents trying to pull over.
10R80 transmission and ECM/TCM malfunction causing hard jerking shifts and stalling. Vehicle will not accelerate when engine is not at temperature which could lead to a major accident.
I was pulling away for a stop sign and the transmission didn’t engage. The rpm’s rose but it wouldn’t move. My Ford Pass sent a message saying I had a power train failure. Shutting it down and restarting got it to move but still had a tendency to slip. I drove slowly 1 mile to a Ford dealer and then the truck wouldn’t engage at all. The truck had to be towed My son’s Explorer had a similar failure earlier this year.
I had a problem with rough shifting from new but it continued to get worse. The dealer reset the electronics hoping to improve but it didn't help. I left on a trip and after a few hundred miles I received a powertrain failure warning. Trying to complete my trip the transmission would fail to pull, jerk hard during shifts causing it to be unsafe to drive. It eventually stopped completely .
Tailgate frozen closed, will not open
The back up camera started not working intermittently. Then it failed completely and all you get when in reverse is a blue screen. There is a NHTSA recall for 2019 Ford F-150 for the exact same issue. Recall #22V25200. Ford has refused to fix the issue as a recall. This has been going on for two months.
Powertrain Malfunction ,reduce power , gear will shift very hard at first and when your on Highway and in 10 gear it will drop to first gear and you will feel like you got hit from behind very dangerous situation couldn’t travel with the kids and wife in the truck and it’s confirmed by Athen ford in Athens GA where I brought this truck brand new in 2019 transition failed on that and my truck is in shop since February 15 2021 at the dealer ship still not fix.I need help
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle would emit abnormal rattling sounds. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel. The contact later received an unknown recall from the manufacturer that was associated to the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the engine synchronizers needed to be replaced; however, the parts for repair were not available. The vehicle was not repaired. My electrical system failed and then caught fire. The entire situation started 4 days ago where my "dome" or "cargo" light kept turning on even though the car was off. 3 days ago my alarm would go off every 15 minutes until I unplugged the battery. I disconnected the battery over night hoping to reset the computer. After reconnecting the battery I got a rear "LEFT REAR door ajar" message on the dash. After inspecting the sensor and wiring harness in LEFT REAR door, I found no issue. However, now "FRONT LEFT door ajar" message appeared on dash along with "LEFT REAR door ajar." Also a litany of other warning lights involving cameras, emergancy braking, etc. came on. While attempting to drive to dealership to have them inspect the issue. The wiring harness behind the back seat on the RIGHT SIDE of the vehicle began smoking. Smoke began billowing from behind the seatbelt opening in the plastic trim on the backside of the door frame.
The transmission started shifting down and up uncontrollably while traveling down the highway at 75 MPH. It would bounce between 9 and 10 gear and then down to 5 and 6, all within seconds. Was not towing anything, and it’s not the first time it’s happened. A wrench icon appeared, saying “see manual”. Transmission temp showed 240 degrees. Within 5 minutes we’d pulled over and turned vehicle off. As we were slowing down exiting freeway, gear shifting was extremely pronounced.
I was driving down the road and my sunroof "exploded" for lack of a better word. I originally thought that something hit the glass, but upon further review I noticed that the glass was flared upwards. I did some research and found this to be a known issue and this also happened to my wife's uncles' F150.
I was making a left turn onto a busy highway on March 29th, and my truck shut off. A message appeared on the screen that said Auto start/stop shift to P, then restart engine. A battery and wrench symbol appeared. I almost was t-boned as a result of the malfunction.\ I bought the vehicle at Causeway Ford in Manahawkin with 62,000 miles and have only had it for a month. I took vehicle there for repair on March 30th. The dealership claimed they performed a hard reset and was able to correct the issue. I had the vehicle for 12 days since, and the issue reoccured almost causing another accident. I am furious.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while his son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear without warning. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on three occasions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,000.
While driving approximately 25mph I was coming up to a traffic light where I was preparing to stop. As the vehicle decelerated to approximately 20mph the vehicle completely shut off losing power steering and function of the brakes. No warning lights were displayed. Only a message that said place vehicle in park and restart vehicle.
I was driving down the road and my rear window spontaneously broke.
UNKOWN, I was turning a corner going rough 10 mph and the truck shut off completely and on the dash it showed auto start stop restart engine. I took the key out and restarted the truck and it was fine. It scares me obviously that if this happens in a busy intersection will I be able to stop and start it again without getting hit.
UNKOWN My truck will lose power when hitting the gas. The rpms' rev up and then after a second it kicks back in. The 10 speed transmission continues to be very jerky and unsmooth. I asked the dealer and was told that's the number 1 complaint but there's nothing they can do about. The loss of power while pushing the gas to go is the biggest safety concern for me.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the driver’s side air bag deployed. The contact safely steered the vehicle off of the road. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that prior to the air bag deployment, a manufacturer’s application had reported that his vehicle had been involved in an accident. There had been no accident. The vehicle was not repaired and declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.
The vehicle comes with a plastic oil pan that cause the vehicle to leak oil after oil changes because the plastic threads are worn out. This is a safety concern and environmental issue. The vehicle can seize up on the highway from lack of oil due to the leak. The leaking oil is also contaminating roads, neighborhoods and highways.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate unexpectedly opened. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer directed the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V983000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the vehicle made abnormal rattling sounds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle; however, the failure remained. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the failure was related to a manufacturer recall 21B10 and the VIN was included. The dealer updated the PCM to the latest calibration; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer twice where it was diagnosed that an unknown part including two gaskets needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the rearview camera would frequently activate independently. The contact stated that the failure had increased in severity and the vehicle would not start after several attempts. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,234.

We were parked in a store parking lot after driving truck for 45 mins. Truck was turned off for 30 mins. Put the key in to start truck and nothing electrical worked. No dash lights, no chiming, no lights, nothing at all electrical worked. Turned key to start and nothing. It was like it was in a sleep mode. After about 5 mins of trying everything electrical and checking battery terminals I tried the radio power on button and everything came back on. It has been fine with no issues for 2 days now. I just hate to have it happen while driving. I called the Ford dealership near me and he they didn't know what it could be. Told me if it happens again to let them know right away. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptons before. I couldn't find anything lose around battery.
My truck rough idles and shakes violently and then stalls and an error comes up in the dash telling me “auto startstop shift to P then restart engine” Has happened numerous times. Truck currently has 44,xxx miles. This is extremely dangerous at any light, turning intersection, or stop sign. I have read many online threads through online forums of this happening in other f150s to no avail from owners and dealers alike.
The Ford 10R80 Transmission is extremely clunky, unsafe, and unreliable. Me, among tens of thousands of others have the exact same problems with them and Ford ignores and disregards them and the safety hazards they create. Your form does not allow for multiple instances or dates. This is/has been a consistent issue form the purchase of the vehicle, to the new transmission I now have to put into it under 100k miles.
Warning light comes on intermittently . Took to ford dealer and was told aftermarket bug deflecter was causing the issue. My co worker has the same exact vehicle without deflector and has the same problem. My vehicle has only 22000 miles and this has being an ongoing issue from since 2019. They will not honor their warranty and was told to take it back to the ford dealer i bought it from. This is a safety issue because it startles you when it goes off and you are nowhere close to a vehicle.
On 3/6/2020 I was in a serious car accident in the vehicle. which required surgeries for not only myself but also other drivers on the road. The driver air bags did not deploy, the turck was totaled and had body damage around the entire vehicle. There was a blood stain from my head hitting the driver door window but no air bag deployment. The gas pedal was not attached when reviewing the photos taken. The collision detection did not detect. we have asked Ford Motor Company to come and look at the car as it has been in a protective hold but the response from FMC was that due to covid they would not send anyone and we were left on out own. There were no warning messages, lamps, lights or indicators prior to the collision.
As I was driving along an outer road I was continuously going a speed of 35mph. I accelerated up to 40mph when my truck slipped into a new gear, causing the truck to remain at the same RPMs but began declining in speed suddenly causing me to almost fall back into the traffic behind me. The road was slightly uphill and was beginning to fall slower than the rest of traffic as my truck would not accelerate. Once I reached the height of the hill the road began downward which my truck began to coast to a stop light. At the stop light I tried restarting my truck but same message followed by the wrench and check engine light came on. My truck was struggling to accelerate and had my maxed out at 10mph on a 55mph road. At the moment the truck slipped gears, a light on my dash came on stating "Drive Mode Unavailable" that prompted me to hit ok on my steering wheel to remove so I could read the digital speedometer. After hitting okay a wrench lit up on my dash as well as my check engine light. After restarting the truck several times after waiting hours to restart, the same prompts lit up.
Auto startstop activated when stopped at a stoplight. When removing foot from brake pedal to go at the green light, the engine stalled with a warning on the dash to put the vehicle in park and start the vehicle again. This did start the vehicle. This has happened twice in the past month and the last time another vehicle from the rear almost rear ended me since I was parked at a green light. Dealer had worked on it prior to this and I will try again.
While driving down a two lane street, a van ran in front of me causing me to T-bone that vehicle. The advance warning did not activate, the brakes did not automatically activate, and worst, the air bag did not deploy causing me some injuries.
The touch sensitive door control for the side passenger door intermittently operates. This creates a hazardous situation when trying to enter the vehicle when parked on the street and the vehicle remains locked. An owner has to retreat, find the key fob and unlock the door remotely. The touch system is erratic and does not give any warning when it malfunctions. Same issue with trying to lock the door but not as hazardous since one is moving away from the vehicle.
On 12/06/2021 at approximately 0205, my F150 was rear ended while stop at a light my vehicle was totaled and I noticed the seat back broke and was touching the rear seat and angled to the left. I tried to straighten the seat back up to remove my work bag that was pinned behind it and the seat was locked in place. I researched and found a consumer report article from Ford dated October 2019 that stated the 3rd prong is missing from the seat on the F150’s from 2018-2020 and can cause injuries in a vehicle crash.
VEHICLE STALLING AT IDLE AFETR PULLING 3,800 LB TRAILER FOR 2 1/2 HOURS OR MORE. NO CODES, DEALER DID NOTHING.
I have had the engine shut off while driving … due to the code auto start stop shift to park… I could’ve been in an accident this is the 4th time this has happened. Fix this issue
My Ford F-150 is a ten-gear truck. For the past several months, my truck gears don't shift, won't stay in gear, and most recently, won't go into gear i.e. I couldn't put my truck in reverse. As I'm driving, I will experience loud bangs and shudders randomly and without warning. My car has 70k miles on it, has not been in an accident, and has been regularly maintained. I took my card to the Ford dealership to address the issue and was told it had to do with a computer issue. Whatever they did has made it worse. I know there is a class-action lawsuit pending over this very issue in Pennsylvania (I live in California) and my truck is no longer safe to drive, as I fear it will slip into gear and possibly cause an accident.
The vehicle hesitates while speeding up. This hesitation is dangerous in situations like entering and exiting the highway from an off-ramp, where acceleration is necessary to merge with traffic. The vehicle hesitation to accelerate is unpredictable. I tired several times to upload documentation as jpeg files. Each time I get Failed to Upload message. Consumer stated vehicle's hesitation has occurred several times and vehicle has not been repaired.
Rcm has lost communication all fuses are in working order. Pre collision has stopped working my parking brake, hill start assist and seat belt warnings have stopped as well. Air bag light, traction control, abs light and check engine lights are on in dash board. My truck only has 49000 miles on it and a major component has gone out how could this be my fault.
Door locks not functioning
Motor made rattle then Loud motor noise, lost of oil pressure. Pull in lot and parked vehicle.
Transmission make erratic gear changes at highway speeds from 10th gear to 2nd gear just for a split second then back to 10th. no warning. Loss of gas pedal in passing lane to overtake a slower vehicle throttle does not respond you have to fall back try to get back in right lane until the computer decides to give you back control usually about 20 sec. Also pushes transmission fluid out of vent tube on transmission.
Tailgate has fallen twice on its own. This issue has been a red all for models years prior to 2019.
Recent oil analysis(mid October 2021) indicates a greater than 5% fuel dilution. The Cummins ASTM method of testing only permits a greater than 5% statement so fuel dilution could be much higher. First sample a year ago indicated 3% dilution. Many factors could contribute to this per research and I had advised Ford dealer with printed reports and they would not do anything at all about this stating it is standard. Oil report indicates a "severe" issue. Ford dealer wouldn't even look into possible causes to rule out. I have concern for a possible engine compartment fire/explosion might happen or possible degradation of engine leading to other possible incidents. Reports and vehicle are available. No indicator lamps or other means to know of this issue without independent testing of oil samples. Fuel mileage is averaging 17MPG.
Cam phasers - after the Ford dealership applied recall 21B10, the engine will shut off at undesirable times, causing a stall and making driving unsafe. This is in addition to serious knocking at engine start, and additional shudder during normal driving conditions and while idling. This recall repair has made things much worse and should be avoided.
Transmission shifting hard. Slipping. Unusual hard shifts that almost stall the vehicle
Under acceleration, after the engine warms up, it begins to have a severe issue with spark knock clatter which causes a loss of power due to improper computer ignition timing adjustments.
Found significant MOLD (toxic mold) all over passenger side floorboard area, under the carpet and throughout the padding, after increasing moldy/mildew smell. This is a "direct result" of a bad design (i.e. AC drain tube), where condensation flows back into the vehicle without Consumer/Owner knowledge. Technical Service Bulletin 19-2345. RESULT: Consumers spend thousands of hours in a small contained cabin breathing-in toxic mold spores. I've been to the Doctor multiple times with headaches and flu-like symptoms, thinking it's COVID, and always testing negative. AND now it makes sense, symptoms occurred when driving and afterwards. FORD IS AWARE OF THIS. NHTSA is aware of this? WHY ARE CONSUMERS NOT PROACTIVELY TOLD ABOUT THIS ISSUE. THIS CAN KILL PEOPLE! AND MANY ARE LIKELY SICK OR GOING TO GET SICK! PLEASE INVESTIGATE BEFORE MORE PEOPLE ARE HURT FROM TOXIC MOLD POISONING.
While traveling down road at 50MPH, vehicle suddenly lost power and would not respond to inputs from accelerator narrowly avoiding being rear-ended by following traffic. Transmission shift irregularities have plagued my vehicle since the beginning as it hesitates to shift then shifts hard causing whiplash like effect. Other times it randomly downshifts and will not respond to throttle inputs, creating an unsafe driving condition. In addition it will surge/lurch ahead without throttle input causing the need to break to avoid collisions. The vehicle currently has 12,227 miles on the odometer, owned for 18 months, purchased new. Has been brought into service on three separate occasions for this issue just in the last 7 months. Transmission is now being replaced as Ford can not determine the cause of the transmission failure. Class action lawsuit of this 10R80 transmission is currently pending. The NHTSA should get involved before someone is injured or killed. My wife or child will not ride in the vehicle as this transmission renders the vehicle unsafe.
10 speed transmission has trouble shifting in most gears and has become a safety issue in traffic. I have taken the truck back to the dealer once already and they made the problem worse. I am attempting to get the truck back to the dealer again. I have found many complaints and articles about F150's with the 10 speed transmission having issues. In fact, I've read there are class action lawsuits against Ford for issues with their 10 speed transmission. To date, my dealership has not acknowledged there is an issue with the transmission.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
