The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop to 35 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and jolted while shifting into gear. Additionally, the contact stated that while at a complete stop and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle revved. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel was contaminated and a gasoline additive was added; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The contact stated that when the transmission issues started, the local dealer informed the contact that they were short staffed and could not provide a loaner vehicle. After taking the vehicle to a second dealer, it was found that the transmission needed to be replaced.
Truck transmission bangs when shifting between gears. Also slips out of gear at random intervals while driving.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the reverse camera displayed a hazy and obscured view while the vehicle is in reverse. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the camera needed to be replaced; however, the vehicle was not repaired. The contact believed that the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention) however, the VIN was not included. The contact was informed that recalls were VIN specific. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to have the vehicle inspected at a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
I got the truck with 10,00 miles and currently have 47,000 miles. I have been having oil burning issues since the beginning, but it has gotten worse. When I was adding the oil myself before having the dealership do it I was having to add almost 4 qts per 5-6 thousand miles. I have been taking it to the dealership every 1000 miles for oil consumption test. Typically, my oil burns over 1/2 qt per 1000 miles so the dealership claims. I have also claimed about harsh shifting and clunking noises. Most recently I took it in for the harsh shifting of the transmission and 4 wheel drive while the did the oil test. They reflashed the transmission and topped off the oil. The dealership then forgot to put the oil cap back on (I didn't think I had to check their work) the next day after a short drive there was oil all over my engine, electrical systems, battery, suspension and underbody because of the missing cap. They took the truck back and then claimed only a 1/2 qt was gone. The dealership after a few days tells me it is all cleaned and ready to go. I got the truck with oil all over the place. So they keep the truck yet again, few days later I get the truck back and my truck is shifting worse in some ways now than before the flash. Today I had to take the truck in for an engine light about the catalytic converter failing. While they had the truck there it then gave a bunch of codes of powertrain body control all related to lack of power and powertrain failure. displaying a bunch of re

Rear Left Upper Shock Absorber Mount Splintered into three and sheared off. This problem is happening to other late model F-150 owners https://www.f150forum.com/f118/broken-shock-frame-mount-496255/ Someone just posted that the left rear upper shock mount sheared off on his 2022 F-150 FX4 I have no left rear shock and I took it to the Ford dealer and they didn't even attempt to warranty repair the truck. I do not understand anything over the phone due to my hearing, please email me at [XXX] On the evening of March 11, I had just ate dinner at a Italian restaurant and saw my left rear shock absorber laying on the ground. This shouldn't be happening on a truck that is not even five years old and doesn't even have 100,000 miles on it. Ford should be fixing my truck period. This is a safety issue. When driving this vehicle at slow speeds when cold there is a groning sound or growling sound coming from front differential. At high speed it gets lowder but is less noticeable because of tires. When coming to stoplights or stop sign slowing down considerably alot of moaning, groning noise comes from left side. The vehicle will then have a slight pull to the right. Its been at dealership twice second time still there as they can't seem to duplicate the issue but will not drain the front end to see how much metal in oil. I have videos of the noise and there our several complaints on the ford forum with YouTube videos of exact noise. I see that 2020-2022 has issued a recall because of defective pinion. I think the recall should take into the effect 2018 on as they are the same differential. As a mechanic for 35 years from ford retired I believe the issue is either 1 the bearing race is not seated and when cold you hear the moaning groning because the bearing race is spinning in the aluminum housing or the pinon bearing set are pitted for some reason. You can feel a slight vibration under the floor board when it's doing it which leads me to believe if the bearing locks up the front driveshaft will go through transfer case and vehicle will end up out of control. Thank you
While driving at highway speeds the truck when hits uneven ground will trigger the abs and the brake will be applied to the right wheel causing the vehicle at 80 mph to be yanked to the right hard abs light flashes, no codes all components pass inspection
I purchased my 2019 Ford F-150 used in October of 2022 directly from a Ford dealer. The reverse view on the infotainment screen was foggy at the time of purchase due to moisture in the rear view camera. My local Ford dealer told me that the specific rear view camera in my truck was part of a massive recall, but they would not replace the camera because my VIN was not included on the recall list. I am confused as to how a part can be found defective and a recall issued to replace the part, but a vehicle made with the defective part is left off of the recall order. In any case, I purchased a new backup camera directly from Ford. The original camera has been superseded by a new part number. Hopefully, the new camera will not have the moisture issue. I have the old backup camera and it is available for review.
I purchased my 2019 Ford F150 used in October of 2022 directly from my local Ford dealership. At the time of purchase the tailgate handle did not work properly. The tailgate handle would stick in the open/unlatched position. If you closed the tailgate with the handle in the open/unlatched position the tailgate would fall down. If the falling tailgate struck a child in the head, it could cause injury or death. I purchased a new tailgate handle. The torsion spring and hinge pins on the new handle are coated in grease. The spring and pins on the old tailgate handle are rusted. I still have the old tailgate handle and it is available for inspection.
My vehicle went in for oil change, tire rotation and tailgate recall. Now I was told by the dealer that lug nuts had swelled because manufacturer put caps on the nuts which causes overheating. According to my dealership I have 12 lug nuts to replace. Is this reasonable to replace these items on a 4 year old vehicle? My dealership told me they don't make vehicles like they used to.
Transmission shifting erratically with symptoms of lunging, missing gears, not engaging reverse, downshifting hard, and downshifting while accelerating. Symptoms worse between 3rd and 6th gear and almost not drivable right after starting on a cold morning (20deg F or less). Ford has reprogrammed ECU but it seems worse and has developed clunking noise somewhere in driveshaft or rear differential.
Backup camera faulty shows blurry screen when putting truck in reverse also sometimes shows no picture and just different colors on screen. 2019 F150, 20k miles.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the engine was making an abnormally loud knocking sound. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he was able to drive the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact related the failure to Ford Campaign Number: 21N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the vehicle was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
The truck was purchased used in October 2022 with 82k miles on it, but it appeared to be operating fine from the dealership. Shortly after the purchase, the transmission started hard shifting and also hesitating between shifts. I took the vehicle into a Ford dealership and they test drove it saying it was normal, but also refused to check the PCM to see if the calibration was the most current from Ford. On February 27, 2023, as I was passing a slow moving vehicle on a highway the gears starting acting erratically, jumping from 8th up to 10th, then dropping all power (while showing that it was in 1st gear on the dash), then suddenly hard downshifting in the pass, almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle in the pass. After completing the pass, a "wrench" light came on, so I stopped at the nearest place I could to see what it was saying. My FordPass app said it was a powertrain issue, but then as I restarted the truck, the wrench cleared. I was able to make the rest of the drive home, but with extra clunky and hard shifting. I've now taken the truck in for an inspection, but have been seeing online that this is a common problem, which is wildly unsafe of Ford to have not fixed this.
Back glass shattered for no reason , alone on a state highway with no houses and other traffic . Thousands of not hundreds of thousands of other people have had the same thing happen to them in f150s for years apparently. A quick google search didn’t take long to read hundreds of other f150 owners sharing the same experience . Ford refuses to accept responsibility for what is an obvious design flaw. Broken shards of glass flying around in the cab . Luckily I didn’t have my grandson in the backseat today.
Hello! Twice now I have been driving down the road in my 2019 Ford 150 and the back windshield had blown out like a bomb. The 2nd incident happened yesterday and shook us to the core as my two little ones were in the back seat and had glass all over them! I am waiting a call back from our ford dealer, Kuhio Ford (Lihue, Kauai).
I was driving on the freeway at about 75 MPH. I wanted to pass another car, so I pressed the accelerator petal to 100% (floored it) and took my foot off the petal immediately because I changed my mind. Roughly 1 to 2 seconds after the inputs, the engine rev'd up to about 3000 rpm, and then changed gears, jerking my truck so violently I could have lost control. I was able to get the behavior to repeat for me, and next time I'm on the freeway I'll try to record it. It's possible I was in cruise control and in eco mode. I have been having many issues with the transmission, including some 'bucking', shuddering, harsh shifts, grinding noises, rattling noises, high-pitch whine, surging revolutions, stuck in gears to name a few.
My F-150 is currently inoperable and unable to be repaired due to TSB 22-2139, which is a fundamental issue with the 10 speed transmission. To summarize the issue, the transmission at certain times will not shift gears while driving, which is a significant safety hazard. My truck has been at a Ford dealership for close to 30 days now, and Ford is unable to provide an ETA on replacing the transmission. There is a current national backorder for the 10 speed transmission and no ETA in resolving it.
Rear tailgate opens when door opens without activating the remote/automatic feature that opens the tailgate. It also opens when I’m traveling in traffic. It’s a danger to me and traffic if something is in my truck bed or even if nothing is in there and it opens and someone is too close it will hit there vehicle
When I place my vehicle in park on my driveway, it rolled backwards and collided with the vehicle behind it. when this event occurred, the truck was in park for over an hour before rolling backwards. This is not the first time that it has done this and when I saw it happen the first time, it was only for a distance of two feet and all the wheels were turning when it rolled backwards. The truck was only in 2 wheel drive mode and 4 wheel drive automatic mode. We are now trying to leave it in 4 High wheel drive when parked. Our driveway is on an incline and we do live in Mn. Our driveway was clear of snow and ice when this occurred and the temperature was 40 degrees. We are not allowed to park our vehicles on the street overnight but have asked for a special permit given the damage to the vehicle parked behind the truck that was hit when the truck rolled backwards. This was over 4 feet when the truck rolled and the vehicle that was hit stopped the truck from rolling further. We confirmed the truck was in park when this incident occurred.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced rough idling with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the cam phaser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03 - Supplement #3 (Cam Phaser Replacement) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that his client's back-up camera was display a cloudy and blurred image while in use. The contact called the dealer and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V252000 (Back Over Prevention) and referred him to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the same information as the dealer. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 29,870.
3.5 ecoboost , water leaking inside cab floors from the AC, sunroof, or back window causing a potentially toxic condition as it holds under the carpet and padding with no way to escape. My truck has Cam phaser issues in that it rattles at idle and while driving Engine sounds like a diesel.
Automatic transmission shifts gears erratically. (1) Much delayed shifting from 1st gear to 3rd gear. (Also occurs at the following gear ratio changes: 3rd to 5th and 5th to 7th.) This stalls the acceleration of the vehicle for sufficient time so that a rear end collision can occur if the driver of vehicle behind is not vigilant. (2) While driving on a freeway at 65mph, the vehicle has lost acceleration while the transmission gear indicator shows random gear hunting (10, 7, 3, 1, 9...) and finally abruptly reengaging in a gear to allow forward power. This behavior results in vehicle speed, while in the high speed freeway lane, slowing from 65 to 30 and then slowly accelerating to a more appropriate speed once a gear reengaged. This condition was conducive to a rear end collision. Ford has no availability dates for either a replacement transmission or internal transmission parts so the vehicle is being diagnosed by an independent transmission repair shop. The vehicle may be inspected there if required. (Dealer has confirmed the odd shifting behavior.) Vehicle warning light occurred subsequent to the above behavior.
I was accelerating onto the interstate and just as I was about to merge onto the right lane the truck just all of sudden without warning shifted out of gear like it had been manually shifted to neutral. The engine of course revved up considerably and I of course lost speed immediately which thank the lord I did not have traffic that I was merging into that could have been really bad. It only happened that one time and has not happened since. I have had some really hard shifting going on but nothing like that.
On Monday, January 9, 2023 the vehicle shut off while driving in traffic, and was difficult to restart. It seemed like the battery was dead, but it wasn’t. This incident happened again within about a 15 minute time Period. Safety was obviously put at risk as this happened in a major metropolitan area, Miami, on the road during rush hour. The dealer has had the vehicle for the last two weeks, but was not able to reproduce the problem and cannot find anything wrong. When the vehicle shut off, a warning came up on the dash which said “auto stop, put the truck in park and restart the engine.” But again, it did not want to turn over to restart, and only did so with difficulty.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while at the gas station the pump nozzle failed to go into the fuel filler neck correctly. The contact stated that the flap opened but the pump nozzle failed to fit as needed. The contact drove to another gas station to locate a pump nozzle that would fit into the fuel filler neck. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 140.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted to first gear. The contact stated that the transmission was slipping. The contact stated that the gear shifter was stuck. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission skipped first gear and shifted straight to third gear, and then shifted to tenth gear. The service wrench symbol was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced; the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
When driving normal conditions from a stop to accelerate the truck completely loses power to drive and gears shift super hard in a jerking motion. When trying to accelerate onto highway from stop sign it will go to 15mph then the engine will rev and gear goes to 1 and then back to gear I was originally in but the whole time the truck does not accelerate in speed which pulling out onto highway can cause me to get rear ended as the highway I pull onto from my street is 2 lane 55mph highway. It does this at all speeds and now reverse only work when it is cold . I have videos there are to big to upload on this application form
Purchased in 2019 a new 2019 f150-lariat under 60k miles 1st incident 1month after purchase Transmission lunged forward after it was in park almost throwing me off the truck running board while getting out. Ford Dallas service Dept.stated this was normal sent me away. A few months later took it back in the gears were shifting hard while driving and making a loud sound .Service Dept stated they could not hear or see any problem with the transmission-sent me away- Oct 2022 dropped it off transmission went from 10gear to 2nd gear on the highway. nearly got killed. 3 months later I received a call truck was ready. After driving off AGAIN transmission fluid was leaking on the exhaust and causing bad smoke on the highway the gears Again started to shift from 10gear to 2nd and 1st gear had to pull over off the highway. Dropped it off again at the nearest Ford which this time it stayed for another month and they stated it exhaust was cleaned up and they could not find a issue wrong with the transmission. I drove off AGAIN the transmission started leaking causing smoke while driving, Dropping gears on the highway and hitting hard. I NEARLY GOT killed on the highway because of transmission shifting down the way it is and smoke. As of today My truck is sitting in the driveway unable to drive due to faulty transmission . I will not put my family in this unsafe vehicle that Ford could do nothing to fix.
Cam phaser recall performed by dealer prior to 36k miles. at 36k miles, returned to dealer with same rattle noise from engine, dealer said was noise from backpressure at exhaust near turbo. at 40k miles, engine failed in middle of intersection. Advised by dealer the engine is total loss and will need to be replaced, declined to agree that the cam phaser timing chain was the result, stated that the issue was in the lower end of the engine, which is where the oil pump is....that runs off the timing chain. prior to the failure, I experienced slight power loss, complete momentary power loss shifting between gears 2 and 3, slight knocking noise from the engine that mimicked a diesel engine sound, as well as the stated rattle noise.
There is a serious design flaw with this truck that allows water to enter the passenger side cab via a ford designed hole where the condensate drain exits the fire wall, The water causes severe mold to form and fester bc the water keeps coming, my vehicle is at the dealership now and fully admits even through report that this is a design flaw. Last I checked mold was not a good thing to be encapsulated in a cab with. Further more not only is the mold there but the intake for the HVAC system sits right there as well sucking the tainted air in and redistributing it through the vehicle
My wife was driving my truck while I was hospitalised after emergency surgery. While driving, an emergency noise sounded and a “Brake Fluid Low” light came on. Immediately after that, the truck was difficult to stop - having to put the pedal all the way to the floor. She immediately went to a local full service gas station to have some brake fluid put in. She was told there that there was brake fluid all over the engine under the hood and that the brake hose was busted. They topped off the brake fluid and followed her home, one mile away, where she parked the truck (said she was scared driving and several times was unable to come to a complete stop - luckily no one hit her!). Upon getting out of the hospital, I called the dealership where I purchased the truck and an extended warranty that I pay $75-$100/ month for. I was told I was responsible for getting truck to them (in another town 15 miles away) and that most likely it would be covered under my warranty. I contacted my insurance company and filed an Emergency Roadside claim to have the truck towed to the dealership since undriveable. I’ve just received a call from dealership, Jones Ford in Humboldt, TN. They say my brake line is not covered because not a mechanical failure. They say the hose came loose and rubbed against the steering column and because of that, the warranty did not cover the brakes. They said I might have gone off-roading (which I didn’t). I am self-employed and use my truck daily.
Vehicle screen keeps restarting like it’s a brand new car every time I turn on the vehicle. Navigation stops working the screen will start lagging and sometimes it will go black while driving. Won’t do updates to new version of sync.
11-Jan-2023 18:01 CST approximate temperature 47F. Commuting home the vehicle was driven approximately 30 minutes on the highway. Stopped for fast food and it was turned off for less than 10 minutes. Restarted without issue drove out to a stop light to make a left turn. Auto start-stop turned off the engine but failed to restart. Put vehicle in park vehicle would not restart normally, and multiple restart attempts failed. Restarted vehicle with an jump start battery pack. Drove straight to Autozone and battery tested fully charged on printed receipt. Vehicle restarted normally twice in parking lot. Drove home battery tested 12.7 volts with multimeter. I don't suspect that the battery is the issue. The vehicle battery management system should detect a low battery and disable auto start-stop. My preference is not to have to work under the hood in the middle of traffic in the dark.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver's side seat belt failed to latch securely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not under warranty. No warning light was illuminated. The contact notified another dealer, and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
Gear slipping, harsh shifting, jerking, sudden acceleration or hesitation problems, and general loss of power.
Auto stop start shift to P then restart engine message came up . Vehicle stopped while in drive almost causing an accident. Very unsafe condition.
The transmission will not reverse when cold. It goes into gear and moves less than a foot, then stops like it is in park. After switching between Drive and Reverse several times it functions normally. I was stuck blocking 2 lanes of traffic because of this. The transmission also finds a false neutral momentarily during acceleration. This has almost caused me several accidents while merging or pulling out onto traffic. Dealer could not reproduce when truck was warmed up. No warning lights illuminated. This is dangerous.
On my F-150, I got a check engine light reading code P0430. I just hit 100,000 miles when the light came on so I started out by replacing both converters and all four sensors. After about two months, the light came back on and two of my sensors had been burnt up. Although the truck does not run poorly, it does have a slight lag when attempting to accelerate.
The 10 speed transition is overall very clunky and does not shift smoothly. Recently when driving up a slight incline around a turn, the truck abruptly downshifted due to the incline. I was only doing 25 mph but the road was slippery and the abrupt rough downshift caused the rear wheels to lose traction and truck rear end slide. This was very alarming as I did not expect such a forceful rough downshift. Had another vehicle been coming in the other lane, the rear end of my truck may have hit them. I have experienced this more than once, despite being very gentle on the accelerator so as not to force a hard downshift. Also, when shifting into reverse, the transmission takes very long to finally get into reverse. Need to be very careful not to pull in front of another vehicle before backing up because the transmission takes so long to get into reverse. If I step on the gas before reverse is found, then when the transmission gets into reverse with the accelerator pressed, the truck lurches backwards. I have a 2010 Toyota Sienna with a 6 speed transmission with almost 300,000 miles. It still shifts extremely smoothly and shifts into reverse within 1-2 seconds. It's night and day compared to the F150 10 speed transmission. In poor road conditions, I don't feel comfortable and always in control with this transmission. There are no error codes so I have not asked the Ford dealer to investigate. I also see many Ford owners having the same issues with no resolution coming from Ford.
2019 F150 with 65,000 miles on it, started having issues shifting gears. Was accelerating on the Freeway and jumped from 3rd to 8th gear losing all power and making all passengers jerk forward whipping our necks. Also, started to not go into the right gear after starting up in the morning; put the truck into drive and immediately went into 7th gear without releasing the break and the Powertrain Malfunction came on. Restarted the vehicle and put in drive and the transmission went to 4th gear, started driving and the Powertrain Malfunction light cleared and shifted somewhat normally other than hard shifting. Ford Dealership diagnosed the truck and stated that it needs a new Transmission already at 65,000 miles and they will not warranty it since it is already past 60,000 miles. A transmission should not be going out at 65,000 miles.
The truck cut off while rolling up to a stop sign. And an error code came up the dash.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the front driver’s side door failed to open as needed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the door was repaired out of pocket. The dealer linked the failure to an unknown recall and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
The 10 speed transmission in the truck slips into neutral during acceleration. I usually loose 2nd or 3rd gear. The engine RPM spikes to 4-5000 and the vehicle coasts to near stop before transmission grabs again. It can create a danger on highway acceleration ramps or at stop signs. It happens intermittently and has been going on for 9 months or so.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger's side rear door inadvertently opened and failed to latch properly. Additionally, the passenger's side rear door previously failed to unlock. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 19N06 (Door Latch Freezing Concerns) however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
When I put my vehicle into reverse, I get a warning that the backup camera is inoperable. Ford already has a recall on Some backup cameras but refuses to address mine because of the VIN not being on their list. Others at risk? Whenever I need to back out of a parking space. The onboard computer should have the records of the many times the camera was needed but not working. I am unable to afford the cost of a service call as I am a senior citizen.
The fiber under body shield doesn’t stay in place it tears every time they do an oil change. This should be reinforced and not to have a fiber materiel that can’t handle the normal Michigan wear.

NHTSA publishes every complaint as the owner wrote it and investigates only a fraction. Spelling, capitalisation and judgement are the filer’s own. What carries weight is repetition: the same component failing the same way across many filings, and whether the manufacturer eventually opened a recall for it.
